Mikhos walked out of the bar, albeit carefully. The other werewolf had not left. The vein on his neck bulging, he attempted to get to a secluded alleyway, ere his transformation had him in public.
He was just in time, as always, his topaz eyes becoming a radiant yellow. His primal howl became more wolfen, as the transformation ran its course. It was an especially loud one- the full moon was just a few nights away.
But Mikhos did not have the normal hunger to rip out someone's throat.
He had the feeling he had attracted someone's attention, but he was constantly having paranoia issues.
Let me just hope it's the wind. He thought, walking out of the alleyway. Luckily he had stashed his clothes in his police cruiser- he wasn't about to rip his favorite jacket, now was he?

Anarak sighed " I am .... 240-ish by human years, Although I was turned Just over my 26th year. Jumped in an alley, I suppose It's not quite as Spectacular as escaping death but, It is the truth." Anarak loosened a few of the buttons on his jacket, took it off, and stretched back. "sometimes I wonder what the cost Of vampirism is. The answer Is still beyond me though. A question pondered for 200 years is a question indeed. But that is enough of the past let us think of now." anarak watched the Blush seep into Hikaru's face and Wondered what it was she could be thinking. She was attractive, Wonderful, A brilliant mind, all qualities he loved, and she was a sister of the night, that made her an availability, He could take her, partner with her, Hunt with her, It would almost be Human, Like Love, maybe?

"Wolfe, hello." Alastor turned to the man. He looked wild, beast-like. "Hmmmm." He then turned to Elysia. "How eventful." Alastor then turned once more, now to the exit of the alley and walked. He was bored with these creatures, they wouldn't be able to help him. Not in his search. However, something about Elysia had caught his attention. Daggers weren't common weapons nowadays, especially in London. The most common were pipes and such that were found on the road, or in his alley. There was something unusual about her, maybe she could assist him. "Elysia, would you come with me?"

When she realized how curious he was about that blush creeping across her skin, Hikaru sighed contently and told him.

"There's something about you, Anarak. Maybe I've been alone for too long, or maybe it's the moonlight, or my eyes playing tricks or - "

She stopped, took a few deep breaths trying to clear her mind, and continued.

"I'm tired of being alone. Anarak, to say that you've sparked my interest would be a grave understatement. I'm not wanting to force anything upon you but..."

Her gaze fell downward for a moment as she fiddled with her own black leather jacket and silver shirt she wore with a black dragon on the front. Gathering up a bit of courage, she tried again.

"Anarak, please don't leave me alone." Hikaru was now next to him as her hands tenderly cupped his face. She felt her heart pounding in her chest; she had never felt like this before...

“Sure” replied Elysia grinning to herself as she followed Alastor out of the alleyway, it seemed that he had taken an interest in her which was more than she planed for as she expected Alastor to be hesitant to talk to her. “Nothing personal” smiled Elysia to Wolfe as she passed him a bit regretful that she was just leaving him alone with the vampire that was watching over them. “See you around” muttered Elysia giving Wolfie a backwards wave as she came to the end of the alley following Alastor.

As she came up beside Alastor Elysia extended her senses and felt all the other beings in the vicinity her eyes darting around in alertness and paranoia as a result. Concentrating on Alastor’s presence she felt his gnawing interest in her and his thought that she may be of use to him, with a small sigh of shame Elysia reached down to her wrist and snapped an elastic band, her skin reddening from the impact. She had once again invaded someone’s privacy on purpose a habit that she was trying desperately to break yet as it was part of her nature she was having tremendous trouble.

Alastor heard the snap, and used it as his cue. "Where are you from?" Maybe this one could help him. He had been searching for his mother's soul, a haunted ghost. And maybe, just maybe this one could help him. He needed her, so he himself could be at peace. "I'm looking for a soul, it's dear to me. For some reason, I get a vibe from you. It's more than just your ability to see them (the spirits,) you can do other things, can't you?"

“Nowhere” stated Elysia defensively in reply, her voice having a hint of anger and rage which quickly dissipated as she listened to Alastor go on picking up on the sadness he felt. “Oh” she muttered in reply “well Ill help you but just so you know I don’t really see them, I just feel them… you know feel their presence or aura if you will. It happens with almost every living thing and even vampires and the like.” She continued suddenly a bitter shyer than usual her powers not a thing she talked about to many.

((Wow, so many vampires, so few mortals... the poor things are gonna starve.

Hang on a moment, am I going to be the only normal/sane/non-magical human around here? :3 Yaay.

Luke, I choose YOU! -throws bishieball-))

He wasn't entirely sure where he was, now. Earlier on in the evening, his friends had taken him to a nightclub, and... he couldn't remember much. The alcohol had gone past the 'pleasant buzz' stage and now, well past midnight, Luke just felt sick. His friends had wandered off somewhere. They'd come back eventually... maybe...
He could remember lots of alcohol. Maybe it was more than alcohol, he'd been so drunk. Brown-auburn hair plastered to his face, he stumbled through the street looking for a bench- or, at least, somewhere that wasn't a doorway- to sit down.

They'd probably been making fun of him when they wandered away. The term 'friends' when applied to Luke's acquaintences was strictly arbitrary. Always a loser, at the age of seventeen and into computer games, not porn magazines, he was more an outcast than ever.
He had his coursework to complete tonight, as well. Tomorrow, he'd have a hangover worthy of Dionysus and wouldn't even be awake before five in the afternoon. That was his physics A-level gone.

Perhaps he was sobering up a little now. The world wasn't in popart colours any more, nor was it in triple and spinning. On the other hand, his stomach was rebelling. Luke wobbled into the nearest alleyway and threw up. There was a bench nearby, he was sure of it.

Five more paces... now four, now three... or was it six? The bench seemed an eternal distance away when he didn't know which foot was which. He slid onto the wood, back against the cold brick, and tilted his head back to the coolness, the skin on his neck computer-pale and sweaty.
He could dream of a shower and a toothbrush; and in the meantime, he'd just have to hope not to get raped.

If you wish, I will become a rose.

Anarak's mind raced, She Felt for him? She had not been a vampire too long then, or Had he just forgotten what it was like to feel? could it be, that he forgot humanity? "I Don't think I want to leave you ...." Anarak was confused, taken, belittled even By Hikaru. Could it really be that 'Love' had stricken her, or was it that she had been alone too long. Anarak looked down into Hikaru's Eye's and saw how desparate for company she had become. His Soul, what little remained of it after all theese years cried out to him, and he was trapped. lowering his head anarak breathed into hikaru's ear "I will not leave you."

"Oh." Alastor sighed. He had an odd feeling that the girl was hiding something. He wasn't pushy though, he was too focused on finding his mother's soul to be pushy. Instead he continued to walk, which eventually turned into a run. He was running away from her, Elysia. He was running away from the whole meeting, the encounter. His feet pounded hard into the black street. Alastor noticed a boy, sitting alone. His expression was a funny sight. Alastor chuckled, knowing what the boy had done during the night. "All by yourself? Isn't it a bit strange to be out alone at this hour?"

"I will not leave you."

Those words brought a calming feeling onto Hikaru's raging heart as she felt it finally begin to slow down. Her lips opened to say something, but what she was going to say was completely forgotten as she leaned forward and lightly kissed him on the cheek. Just as quickly, Hikaru pulled away in fear of angering him. She gazed into his ruby eyes and looked for the slightest hint of anger; after all, she didn't want to push him into something he didn't want.

Still, Hikaru knew that this was what she wanted: a companion for life, regardless of what the world thought. Still gazing into those wonderful eyes, Hikaru leaned forward once again and paused mere inches from his lips. Lead my heart down the right path, she silently prayed. Ever so slowly, Hikaru closed her eyes and carefully pressed her lips against his, almost as if he were fragile to the touch; she could feel her vampiric heart beat rapidly once again.

If anarak was shocked by the first kiss, the second one was breath-taking, reaching his hand around Hikarus waist he pulled her body close to his own, returning the kiss. after a few seconds anarak broke away, His heart was beating abnormally, it was fast, faster then whenever he had hunted, or been hunted ... Anarak looked down into hikaru's eye's the eye's of his mistress. taking his knife out of the pocket in his jeans anarak cut his wrist, "drink if you will, blood willingly given will bind" he said offering his wrist to hikaru

"This blood," Hikaru said aloud as she took his wrist, "shall bind us forever." With that, Hikaru took Anarak's blood into her mouth. Out of all the times she had fed, never had she tasted blood so sweet; she happily fed upon the wound, being careful not to take too much from him. Smiling, Hikaru kissed Anarak deeper than before, allowing him to taste the left-over blood. For one moment, she was free of the 'curse'.

"What shall we do now?" Hikaru asked with hope in her eyes.

(I'll be a mortal, as well. ^-~).

This place was so overbearing. She just wanted to get out. That's all she wanted to do. She wanted to move on. It wanted to move on. If that meant slashing her wrists as deep as she could manage and roaming the streets in order to not be found soon enough to help, then that was fine. She'd worn a white long sleeved shirt with very large cuffs, but that was what she had been wearing when she snapped.

She crossed her arms gently and nodded politely as people passed her by.

With a combination of an abusive family and the fact that strange, unwanted emotions passed through her greatly at times, she was near the edge of hysteria. No one would care she was gone. No one would look for her. The only thing that WOULD find her were the entities that passed through her body as if she were a lifeless rag doll inviting a soul. She didn't want that!

Her parents had been arguing again at the time when a stray spirit had entered her body. The spirit was a sad one, completely hell bent on moving on. When the spirit had entered, Lilith couldn't take the feelings that came with it. So with the hopeless situation she was in and the one thought of moving on, she gashed her wrists, pulled on a pair of jeans, and put on her sneakers. She had slammed the door when she left, but no one noticed. She needed out. That's all she had thought.

She'd been walking for a good 15 minutes. Maybe perhaps she hadn't done it well enough. What would she do if she didn't die now? And why did she do this? She didn't WANT to die! The spirit did. She just couldn't handle the emotions of that spirit...Now she was frantic, sliding into a dark alley and walking alongside the cold cement wall. "I don't want to die!" She muttered, tears escaping her violently. The spirit's emotions were still running wildly through her. She couldn't make them leave...And no one was around.

"I want to live forever...I haven't seen ANYTHING!" She cried. But if she went for help she'd be sent back home or to a place for nutcases. Sliding to the ground, she pressed her arms tightly against her faded jeans, sniffling. "I don't want to die..." She repeated, lost.
This is the challenge of writing. You have to be very emotionally engaged in what you’re doing, or it comes out flat. You can’t fake your way through this.

Someone was talking to him- or, at least, Luke thought they were. He suspected mild hallucinogenics. He'd been so blurry that he hadn't even noticed, but now, slightly sober, he noticed the strange flickering things in the corners of his eyes- or perhaps it had only just met his bloodstream. Maybe it had always been there.
"Whoseh..." he mumbled. "Equations're chasing me... all the numbers... they're not going... ugh, the numbers... corners of m'sight... all the numbers..." Luke looked up dazedly. "You real?" he asked the stranger suspiciously. "You're not'n agent of the... the equations?" He shook his head sadly. "Equations're chasing me. Physics... 's punishing me... no coursework, oh my God, no coursework!" He tried to stand up, panicked, only to stumble in his haze. He slid onto the ground, slumped against the man's legs. "You're here to kill me... 'cos I didn't do my coursework, right?"

((I'm sorry, I couldn't resist doing that. XDDD
Note: He can't see the random spirits, just to disambiguate. It really is just him being high on drugs. Heehee...))

This boy, what was he on? He had a complex look on his face, like he had been thinking way too hard for his brain to comprehend. "Hmmm." Alastor walked over to the boy silently, lifted his right palm up, and slapped him across the face. "Wake up."

Alas, Mikhos took a wrong turn, showing himself to the gathering in the street. ((My character's been uninvolved in any of the storylines so far. =[ ))
He attempted to swear, it only coming out as a snarl. He knew the other lycan had at least caught his scent.
Shit. Now they're gonna think I'm evil.
But Mikhos wasn't dumb enough to stick around.
He turned tail and ran, ran as fast as he could, eventually crashing right into Corey.
DAMN! Mikhos's mind screamed.
He had lost all equilibrium, he was lost.

"Well," said Wolfe, "Down to you and me. A little less crowded wouldn't you-" His head snapped sideways suddenly, his nose gently sniffing the air. His hearing focused and his eyes tried to pierce the gloom. Something was happening. He stepped off, not looking back. He moved into the shadows, and when he was out, he was a wolf, moving silently between the various detritus. Paws padded forward, propelling him forward, as his silver eyes scanned the alley for all signs of life. His head moved lower to the ground as he moved to pick up the scent. He caught a whiff of something and moved on.

Dire circumstances indeed, he thought, the bastard just walked off, without so much as a backwards glance. I was just trying to help him. It was her who told me to do it with subtlety. Now something else entirely is happening. He came to a wire fence and shifted, coming back into his human form. He backed up a few paces then ran, straight for the fence. He leapt, one foot touching off of the wall to push himself up higher. His hands were in front of him, his body fully horizontal. A flicker, and he landed as a wolf, running full sprint now.

That's when he came upon her. Blood poured out of her wrists, and her white shirt was now covered. He shifted back, one hand reaching tenderly behind her head. He wasn't sure if that vampire had followed him, but there were more important matters at hand. Her heart rate was critical, and her spirit was already leaving her body. He stood on his feet, one hand on her shoulder blades, one under her knees. He lifted her, then looked down into her eyes.

"You'll be alright," he whispered, before taking off, in long, powerful strides. The wind moved through his hair gently as he ran, before coming out into the regular streets. A few people were milling about, but for the most part they were deserted. The few people who were there cast curious glances his way, but moslty let him be. He took off, down the long winding streets, heading uptown. He arrived at one house, located in midtown. He kicked the door with his toe in an attempt to knock. Some shuffling could be heard inside and Wolfe smiled. The door opened and there stood a very grumpy looking old man. Tufts of white hair clung to his head, and wrinkles creased his brow. His bottom lip stuck out, giving him a very pouty expression.

"Can you heal her?" asked Wolfe, smiling at the old man's appearance.

"Of course I can," snapped the old man, "bring her inside you poufter!" Wolfe moved inside and lay her down on a table.

"When she wakes up, let her leave," said Wolfe, "If she's important she'll find me. I have some business to resume." He turned and moved for the door, then stopped and turned. He looked back at the girl lying on the table, then back at the door. Sighing, he turned and moved to the table.

Yet another player in our little game...

((Don't know if the other lycan was me?))
"Some things are important. Others are not. Yet all would claim a mortal's attention. It falls to each of us to remain ever mindful, and thus purchase wisdom in the threading of possibilities. It is our common failing that we are guided by our indifference to eventualities. The moment pleases, the future can await consideration." - Steven Erikson's Midnight Tides

Re: Into Thin Air

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Rin on Tue Jul 03, 2007 4:37 am

At some point she had lost her grasp on reality. It felt like she was underwater, floating, rocking gently. She felt no pain, but she was numb, cold, and unable to command her body. A twitch in her fingers, but she couldn't feel it. Her eyelids were heavy. She didn't want to open them.

But she heard the low murmur of voices, and it reminded her of being just under the surface of water and hearing the voices of people, not able to make sense of the words. One voice was much deeper than the other, speaking softly, while the other voice was just high pitched and incessant. She was weak, tired...her mind unthinking and her body unfeeling. But the spirit was gone.

Then one lone thought passed. If I die, will I be stuck here, too? That made her start, the vision of seeing her spirit trapped with all the others. Her eyes opened to seek confirmation if she were dead. Surely she would be floating in the clouds or tumbling off in space...or in a paradise...maybe a burning pit...Or stuck. Slowly, her eyes managed to open and reveal one red eye, much like the color of blood, and one green. Nothing extraordinary, just distracting. What met her vision were bright lights, like florescent hospital lights that hung over the stiff hospital beds, or the blinding beams like that of a car with it's brights on. Which would make her the deer, trapped...

She closed her eyes, attempting to sigh, but managing more twitching in her fingers. Willing her head to turn, she succeeded with a light thud, trying her luck with opening her eyes again. There better not be no lights...

Instead, after a moment of blurry vision, the mismatched eyes adjusted to the dark. But it wasn't just the dark... there was a man standing in it.

"I suppose we go look for another meal or we can stay, It's your choice." Anarak sat back, He felt weak, Pitiful even! the woman could do what she wanted he would follow.
