Keiichi Taniguchi vs Ran

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Marten on Fri Aug 18, 2006 4:02 pm

(01:17:18\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi smiles genially towards Ran as he rouses himself from his ensconced state, having been in the usual iaihiza posture, meaning that he sat with his left leg beneath him, his right knee raised. Coming up to his feet, he stopped with his head at waist level, pressing his palms flat against the ground, allowing him to stretch his back as well as the muscles of his legs which were known for their lithe movements. :.
(01:20:18\pm) .: Ran steps forward, his unshoed feet seemingly springing upon the soft floor of the dojo. He had smiled to Keiichi, who was just across large square room, his left forearm lying deftly upon the hilt of his phoenix tachi, sheathed within a steal scabbard clung tightly to his form with an atramentous sash. He nodded to the man, letting his long ebony locks flow lightly behind him, a collection of strands forming before his face, slightly covering one of his cerulean eyes. :.
(01:20:20\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi wrapped his arms about his shins, his ebon locks contrasted sharply against the jejune tone of his ecru hakamas. As a few of his bones began to crack from the sudden pressure put upon them, Keiichi released his hold upon his shins, making sure that the kyahans wrapped around them were still snug against his bones and not only kept the wide pleats of the hakama in place but that they held the opening to his tabi comfortably closed. :.
(01:23:18\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi finally straightened up after having checked not only his kyahans but the waraji upon his feet. The worst thing that could happen during a fight would be the rope of his waraji snapping due to improper care. Interlocking his fingers, Keiichi rolled his neck upon his shoulders, loosening the muscles while surreptitiously taking notice of his surroundings, already mounting several strategies to use inside the dojo. :.
(01:23:50\pm) .: Ran takes yet another step forward, his feet seeming to sink within the soft material making up the dojo's floor. He grinned to Keiishi's rising form, knowing that he was someone not to be taken lightly by any means. He let himself have a slight laugh, loosening his joints. He was nervous, no doubt about it. His previous bouts with this foe have ended with many heart aches' including a shattered knee once. :.
(01:25:46\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi ceases the movements of his neck, taking a glance toward Ran with his clear, heliotrope gaze, still smiling genially. Shifting forward, Keiichi stood upon the toes of his feet, taking into consideration the smooth surface of the highly polished wooden floor. Taking a moment to slow his breathing, Keiichi walked forth towards the racks that rested upon the walls, he chose his weapon, an oak bokken. :.
(01:28:43\pm) .: Ran he stopped his movements, gazing with slight awe at the man known as Keiichi. He let his smile play out a facaud for the while, for he was rather scared of the man. He set himself within his current position, his feet widening to become roughly shoulder length in distance. His right hand lifted upward from his side, his long slender fingered moving upon the knot tied within his sash, undoing it quickly, his left hand grasping the top of the metal scabbard withholding his beloved blade. He walked to the side, and placed it upon the floor, grabbing a bokken as well, and returning to his former position. :.
(01:32:36\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi 's smile slowly faded as he took the stance of hasso no kamae, meaning Keiichi took a step forward with his left foot, grasping the bokken's tsuka with both hands and wielding it over his right shoulder, the length of the wooden blade pointing straight towards the ceiling. Deciding to change up the stance only slightly, Keiichi moved the heel of his right foot outwards a few centimeters, redistributing his weight as he awaited his opponent's decision of attacking or defending. :.
(01:39:27\pm) .: Ran let a sigh escape his lips, his youthfull face becoming oneiric as he tightened his grip upon the wooden bokken. He position the blade at his side, switching hand positions with a slight aeronautical display, the bokken rising within the air from his movement, catching it within his right hand now backwards upon the polished handle, the bokken horisontal now at his side. He pushed forth from the ball of his right foot, his form springing forward springing torward Keiichi. He lets a wild smile play out upon his face, once more pushing from the ball of his right foot as he nears his foe. His body elevated within the air, twisting sideways as he does so, his own body now becoming horizontal. He spun around, letting the bokken hand outward from his body, his right hand extending at the last moment for a vertical attack downward for the top of Keiichi's cranium. :.
(01:44:21\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi shifted his weight towards the right, using the blessed technique of okuri-ashi which caused Keiichi's lead foot, which had been his left, to shoot out from beneath him which caused his foot to form half of a circle, becoming level with his rear foot, which had been his right. In synchronous movement with his feet, Keiichi bent his right elbow, causing the blade of his bokken to become horizontal while his soete, or supporting hand, rested against where the tsuba normally laid. In this new position, Keiichi was not only out of range for Ran's vertical attack but he was ready to swing the blade of his bokken outwards, landing a blow to Ran's side. :.
(01:54:15\pm) .: Ran knew that his attack would have simply been dodged, but was suprised that it was not countered, noticing Keiichi's position. He fell from his aerial assault, landing lightly upon the balls of his feet, his back facing Keiichi. He rounded himself around quickly, kicking off from his right foot once more, his form spinning backward within the air and twisting in mid spin. He brought his bokken around, bringing his body into a sort of diagnol setting, his right hand shifting upon the handle once again into the usual hold, slicing it once more for Keiichi's head. :.
(01:58:48\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi bent his knees, dropping into the sonkyo, or half-crouching stance. A smile once again played across Keiichi's face as he took his left hand away from the hilt of his bokken, pressing his palm flat against the floor and using its polished surface to aid him in his movements. Lifting his body with simply the strength of his left arm, Keiichi's form completed a revolution as his legs whipped up into the air in a dangerous torrent, the heel of his right foot positioned to land a blow to the back of Ran's once injured knee while his left leg was level with the elbow his opponent used to carry the weight of the bokken, which was already far too out for his opponent to tuck into his body. :.
(02:07:02\pm) .: Ran inhales sharply to the quick movements his opponent was known for. He was suprised though, his quick movement from only the strength of his left arm had sent up around his attack and behind him, now putting him into a perdicament. He released the bokken quickly, for it's weight would not allow his arm to move at maximum speed as he brought it to his chest to escape the blow to his arm. He felt the kick upon the back of his knee, a sharp pain coursing upward throughout his body. He pushed through the pain though, using the force upon his knee to spin his form back, bringing his uninjured knee upward toward Keiichi's face. :.
(02:11:19\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi continues to smile as he used his taper-esque fingers to raise his palm from the floor, lifting his face out of the line of Ran's knee as his right hand snaked up from his waist, over his chest and out towards Ran's now exposed ankle. As his fingers wrap around the bone, Keiichi's legs drop to the ground, his knees pressed against the ground to further lift his form back into the sonkyo stance. "Now what shall you do, little one?" :.
(02:15:07\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi rouses himself into a standing position, having Ran's ankle still caught in his grip as Ran hobbles around on his injured leg. Shaking his head as he gives Ran a disappointed look, Keiichi gently thrusts his right arm forward, putting further pressure on his foe's injured leg until he crumbles to the ground, ready to once again nurse the knee that has now been damaged more times than Keiichi can count. :.
(02:15:47\pm) .: Keiichi_Taniguchi turns his back towards his fallen foe and retrieves both of the bokkens which had been discarded during their fight. :.
(02:15:52\pm) † Keiichi_Taniguchi † Well, that was fun.
(02:15:55\pm) -Ran- :(
