Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Gabriel Faile on Tue Nov 01, 2005 1:15 am

Well, I didn't really know where else to put this, but it is something I am really striving to do. I have decided to quit smoking. I know for a lot of people that seems like no big deal, people do it everyday, but it really is tough shit. Today is day 1 and I don't know if people want me to keep them posted but, for everyones information I am going cold turkey. Nuffin to keep the cravings down.

I know to some people who know me as Rob and not as Gabriel, (Eric and Kristi) this seems like another routine thing for me, but this time I am serious and I intend to quit!

There is my little personal rant for the day. Hope it helps you to get to know a little more about Rob, the man behind the falcon.

Happy Hollow's Eve!

Thanks a lot guys. It's only been 24 hours and 34 minutes but I'm already feeling it. I started twitching during English I was freakin out so bad. But I made it through the day and I'm really proud of myself.

You should hire a big german man, and whenever you crave a puff, have him snap one of your fingers. =D That'll keep you clean! But yeah, good job on not smoking. Smoking makes you smell funny, and other peopel cough. >=O I clean lungs, damnit!

Great job, keep it up.

It's not a 2 week thing, unfortunately. It's something you have to keep working on for a while. 2 weeks is about how long it takes for the physical aspect to leave. The nicotine shit. Yeah. The mental aspect from what I hear is sometimes lifelong.

The physical cravings are the worst though. It's more of an issue of willpower after that. I know you have willpower.

Thanks Master, I'm not going to lie and say the encouragement doesn't help. It's actually getting much better. I didn't have an physical cravings tonight, just the desire. Most of my friends smoke so it is sometimes really difficult but now that I've seen some improvement, plus all the encouragement that I am getting I know I can do it.

Yeah, getting over it mentally is the real problem, but Master is right, I know you're strong enough to do it, and you've got tons of support from us. Keep up the good work!

Much luck. Smoking sucks, the more people we got quitting, the better. May I reccomend a gum or something for when you absolutely can't help the craving?

I dunno, never quit. The finger-snapping thing sounds like a good idea though. Just imagining my finger bending backward until the first bone behind the main knuckle actually snaps... makes my skin crawl. Anyone ever tries to break my fingers I will kick in the nuts so hard they'll be gulping with three adam's apples.
