OOC: Dude, you just set your arm on fire, I'm not sure which because you wrote "right left". I just kinda winged it without that information.

IC:
It was the beginning of the continuation of their previous combat, which Robert had assumed to be over when Von was stabbed in the chest. This was no time to rush in recklessly with a large, momentous attack and get himself killed. He knew his opponent would be angry, seeking revenge for the gaping wound in his chest as well as desperate, struggling to evade the city’s guards and escape the walls.

Unfortunately now with his serious wound slowing him down- his left lung punctured and made obvious by the stream of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth- and meeting a second time in the same night with the swordsman who had so grievously injured him, escape was going to be almost impossible. With knowledge of that desperation- the desperation of man with nothing left to lose- Robert waded carefully into battle with this wounded beast.

With his flaming sword radiating heat from its blade, he had thrust forward, using a feint to hopefully knock aside the lead dagger Von had been wielding as a main defense and sneak past it with a quick stab. It was not to be however. Despite the blood-loss and lack of a lung, Von was not going to be taken in by such a simple attack.

Using his forearm, Von shoved against the flat side of the attacking longsword, hoping to deflect the attack. Unfortunately, in doing so with such force, he would inadvertently catch his sleeve on fire, sending a sudden outburst of flame traveling up his arm. Before he could realize this, however, he continued with his assault. Now that he had sufficiently knocked away Robert’s main weapon, his brutal longsword, the rogue saw a chance to end the fight, flinging one of his final remaining weapons, a dagger, swiftly towards his opponent’s neck.

Reacting on reflex, the former knight jerked his head away from the blade, effectively moving his neck to the right in the same motion and narrowly dodging an almost certainly deadly assault as the weapon hurtled past, cutting a small nick in his ear before embedding itself into the side of the cart Von had used to light his newest fire.

Seeing that the arsonist’s attack was not yet done and that he intended to continue with the arm he’d caught on fire, wielding another knife, Robert used the momentum of his most recent dodging technique to spin, carrying his arm out of harms way, while at the same time ducking towards the ground. Using the spinning dodge, Robert forcefully extended his right leg and swung it outward ahead of his body, sweeping powerfully at the back of Von’s knees with his heel. Coming around with the rest of his body, Robert also swung with the massive flaming blade in his right hand, aiming this time at about shoulder-height on the fugitive, assuming that he might leap over his leg’s initial attack.

Spinning completely around, Robert stood up and stepped back into his square-shouldered fighting posture, his right side leading once more. Observing his opponent, who appeared much worse for the wear at the moment with a bleeding chest cavity and his right arm on fire, now threatening to creep up to consume the rest of him, Axgarde prepared for the worst.

OOC: Just for the record my left arm would be the one on fire. SOrry for the confusion.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The attack was meant to murder the man and it had almost done so if not for what Von was about to do next, turning around and falling forwards on both knees, while simultaneously using the whiplashing motion of his arm to quickly remove that black metal sheathe as a defensive weapon for the time being.

The weight he had placed down infront of his body rendered the sweeping attack useless and simply halted Robert's attack completely, which also in turn gave the fugitive more time to catch his breath in the process. The oil leaking down his arm would eventually go into the sheathe, and he would push his sheathe outwards on it's tip against the ground into the man's eyes as his body nearly toppled over from smacking into hard weight like that.

In the process of smacking into him he had also disturbed his attack and left it to merely travel over Von's head and further throw ther man off balance because of how he swung the blade with a force required to take out a shoulder.

The dagger the man had in his left side would render itself useless for at least a few more seconds before Robert could readjust his positioning and sling that deadly dagger towards the man, Von instantly took advantage and thrusted his own blade in his right hand outwards, aiming to take out the right lung of his opponent as he originally planned, being at such close proximity would hopefully work to the man's advantage judging by the position his arm would've been in from the momentum jarring of that halting of his foot sweeping attempt. The oil being the distraction meant as the feint where as the blade was the true workings behind the offense.

During the meantime all Von had to do was simply let his arm continue to burn near his chest, despite the massive wound the heat around his body was slowly seering the wound shut, it wouldn't have given him all his strength back, but it would ensure it was not his day to die.

OOC: It’s really difficult to tell what you’re doing in your post. You said you turned around and fell to your knees, which would put your back to me. But you never turned back around after that, never even turned to look, so I’m going to play off of what was written. Also, how are you pushing a sheath against the ground and into my eyes? Are you counting on me falling down onto it, eyes first? Not quite sure there. And as for the heat searing the wound shut, you could only cauterize the external wound, you’d still be bleeding incredibly internally, not to mention the broken ribs and shoulder blade as well as the muscle damage to your left pec. If you don’t get to a doctor soon, your chest cavity is going to fill up with blood, especially since all this action and excitement is making your heart pump even faster and harder.

IC:
Quickly, with a speed Robert had not expected from a man so horribly wounded, Von had neutralized his sweep, turning around and dropping to his knees to stop the assailing leg from buckling the outlaw. The former knight’s heel collided instead with his opponent’s thigh, and while it wasn’t quite a momentous attack as taking out his legs would’ve been, a 215-pound man digging his heel into your thigh tended to cause quite a charley horse. Such a blow would sufficiently restrict the rogue’s mobility for the duration of this fight with a severely bruised quadriceps muscle.

His momentum suddenly halted, Robert was forced to quickly catch himself with the dirk in his left hand, jamming the tip into the cobblestone to keep from falling over entirely. It was a good thing too, because his foe had reached back with a short flaming sheath and had attempted to jam it into the swordsman’s eyes as he fell. With his balance caught again, and his eyes out of danger, he continued the secondary attack, lashing out powerfully with the flaming sword in his right hand, powered by the base provided by his left arm and his foot. Adjusting the attack’s target, Roberts continued to spin back around to face his opponent just as the man reached backward with his right hand to stab for the right side of Robert’s chest.

Noting that the fire-starter was still facing with his back to him, not even looking at his target, Axgarde swung viciously for the assaulting hand, the only good one he had left, as Von tried to stab him. Intending to not only disarm the knife from him, but also cleave the hand right off of his wrist, Robert used such a powerful blow to pull his body back around and climb to his feet, towering over his kneeled opponent.

Enough was enough for the rogue warrior, merely falling completely forwards and onto his stomach, allowing his forearm to fall to the ground in the process along with his right hand, keeping it out of harm's way. "Damn...shit head.."

From there on he simply laid there on the ground and rolled over onto his back, staring up at the sky for the time being until the inevitable would most likely occur. His arm rose up and started blindly swinging the blade to a fro, no longer knowing what the hell he was doing "Ah fuck....it"

His hand fell to the floor along with a loud clanking sound from his blade hitting the hard cobblestone street ways. He was too tired to continue fighting, having gotten a mere few hours of sleep before attempting to escape jail, battle a former knight, and get severely injured just sapped all his energy. "I'm tired..at least now I can kill you all I want in my dreams.."

The man then passed out, exhausted from the day's work.

Ka`zeh unsheathed his katana, his form dashing through the flames swiftly as he skidded to a stop to face Robert and Von. He looked to the unconscious Von and then to Robert, crimson eyes flickering a bit as he spoke, obviously directing his statement at Robert.

"The guards hate vigilantes, hurry and get out of sight or they'll arrest you too. Thank you for your help," The detective reached into his cloak and pulled from its confines a bag of gold pieces. He tossed the bag to Robert, sheathed his katana, and calmly walked over to the unconscious Von.

"I am going to teach this man myself that this city is not entirely evil. That there are innocent citizens here who are trying to feed their families, and there are good people hoping to one day rid Ghalerion of its corruption," Ka`zeh spoke once more, glancing towards a few guards that were pouring buckets of water over the flames that Von had recently caused.

"I also saw your friend being dragged off to jail. I guarantee you he will be set free as well," He added, waving to some of the guards to carry Von off to the dungeon. The guards hesitated for a moment, wondering if they should just kill the criminal now, but a stern glare quickly rid them of their doubts.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Sensha on Fri Apr 06, 2007 9:59 pm

Sensha dragged the lifeless corpse behind him, the remnants of what was his last target a shadow of what his former self was."Tch...its a shame I don't believe in riding horses, or this might actually be fun.

It took him a day, but he finally made it to his client's establishment, deep in the woods of Ghale. He left the corpse on the doorstep of the small, hidden home and walked in without so-much as a nock." I'll be taking my pay now..."

Momments later, Sensha was back on the road, his green cloak swaying with his stride. He almost seemed normal, save for that silver hair of his."Ah...where to now on my journeys?" He took out a map and looked over it."Dame is close by..."

It was with that Sensha took the first road he could find, already wondering if his next 'job' was going to be any fun...or just another dull mission with someone whom apparently thought he was something important.

He went quite marrily, greeting all the travelers he came across as he headed for, potentially, his next target. "I certainly hope Dame hasn't changed much...such a lovely city."

It was about another day before he reached Dame's gates, his travel stride changing to a casual walk. He loved looking around that particular city.

Sensha, after a short mourning of looking around, finally decided it was time to get some work done. With a short sigh, he turned for the first tavern he saw and walked in...brushing into what seemed to be a pauper with two swords on his back."Oh, sorry...pardon me," he spoke out to the stranger....but he had already walked out of ear shot."He seemed in a bit of a hurry..."

Sensha had himself a seat at the tavern bar, ordered a small glass of water, and went about listening into the jibber-jabber of the common folk. He had but to wait for some one to begin to complain about a particular person, and that would be his cue.

The guards obeyed the stern orders they received from Ka`zeh, and hauled Von off towards the headquarters, first to the infirmary for his wounds to be treated, and then the jail so he could rot for the rest of his miserable life.

The detective sighed, whipping out his oak pipe and a satchel of black rine tobacco he kept with him at all times. He dipped out a pinch of the tobacco and nestled it into the pipe, closing the satchel and slipping it inside his cloak. Ka`zeh then struck a match on the heel of his boot, puffing on the pipe as he lit it. He exhaled, allowing a fine stream of smoke to issue between pursed lips.

The morning sun was now slowly ascending towards the top of the sky, which showed that it was nearing noon. The guards had the situation under control, and the very horrendously method of searching for Von had stopped. Citizens crept from their homes, wives cried at the destruction that had been caused to the interior of their houses when the guards had burst in.

"JUST GO AWAY!" The shrill voice of a young boy echoed in Ka`zeh's ears, the detective shifting his crimson gaze to the young boy who obviously had suffered a blow to the head from one of the guards.

"WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE! YOU SCARED MOMMY! JUST GO!!" The boy shrieked, throwing a stone at the detective that landed just short of his feet.

"Aidus! Get back here!" His mother called, and the boy quickly complied. The citizens slowly crept back into their homes, harsh glares directed towards Ka`zeh.

The detective sighed heavily, puffing on his pipe again as he murmured to no one in particular.

"Are we monsters? What kind of city are we? A city where the citizens fear the guard, the guard that has sworn to protect them. Look at this city, a mere shadow of its former self, as corrupt generals play with our strings. Yes, we are puppets in their game."

Ka`zeh exhaled deeply, the smoke filtering through the air as he calmly walked back towards the headquarters.

"The sun is shining...why am I so cold?" He inquired, eyes appearing dull and empty as his thoughts slowly faded into darkness.

With his opponent avoiding his latest attack, Robert leapt to his feet, sword aimed downward for what would have been a debilitating thrust.

Before the blow could be delivered, though, the inspector that he had met with during the fires before skidded to a halt right in the midst of the battle, sword drawn. Flames reflected animatedly off of his already burning red eyes, amplifying the stony expression he gave to Robert, staying the former knight’s hand with the look alone.

“The guards hate vigilantes, Ka’zeh warned in a stern tone, “Hurry and get out of sight or they’ll arrest you too. Thank you for your help. As the officer spoke those last words, he tossed a bag of coins towards. Catching the bag and sheathing his sword, Robert nodded and rushed to gather up his fallen dirks before hurrying off, following the man’s advice.

“I also saw your friend dragged off to jail, the head inspector called out to him, “I guarantee you he will be set free as well.

Smiling at the aid he was granted and the money in his hand, Robert quickly dashed into an alleyway and began heading toward the jail, tying the purse of coins to his belt as he jogged.

Reaching the prison, he immediately asked to see his companion, the unconscious magic-user. The guards confiscated his sword and knives and then escorted him to the door of Gent’s cell. With the cripple still unconscious, Robert sat down on a piece of floor against the wall adjacent to the cell and rested, laying his forehead on a raised knee before dozing off.

"... I think we're lost."

Two figures blindly walked out from around the corner, both of them seemingly confused as to what they had just missed out on. Hopefully it had not been too much, for if the taller of the two had found out, he would have instantly burst into a complaining rant.

"... Yuu, where are we?" One of the two, a young female dressed in an odd-looking, two-piece, scarlet and malachite top and skirt tilted her head to the side, letting some of the ebony bangs swing out of her emerald eyes. The other, in response, continued to look around.

"Back in Ghalerion, of course... but I can't seem to find him anywhere. Damn, that man moves around a lot." Yuudoku, one of the colonels of Ghalerion, stood up tall, straining his neck in another attempt to find whatever it was they were searching for. As he was blinking, the young girl at his side began to stray afar and towards a nearby alleyway. Her orbs of green remained forever curious, still darting around in hopes of catching sight of anything that moved. If it wasn't for the guidance and friendship of the one man she felt dedicated to, Aarisa Claivore, summoner of Tensoku, wouldn't be at the spot she was in now.

"Nonononono-" The colonel came rushing over to her as he spotted the summoner digging through a trash can, trying his best to smile as he dragged her back onto the streets. "He won't be there... perhaps we should look around a bit and hope we can find him at the headquarters or something."

"Or I could yell really loud, and then he might hear me! He always comes running when I call!" Aarisa blinked before smiling, turning to the sky and opening her mouth wide, only to be silenced by the other.

"Noooo... That wouldn't be wise at all. Do that and the whole Ghalerion government will come running..." With a sigh, Yuudoku continued to peer and search for someone, Aarisa not too far behind.

Darkness greeted him once more as he awakened within that cell, his vision still a mass of blurs and obscursions before finally shaking his head and standing up, squinting his eyes from the pain shooting through his arms, having suffered those burns along his arm wasn't a good way to wake up especially in a place like that no less.

Lifting his shirt up completely, he was relieved to find out that his chest had been stitched shut by the doctors, or medical staff within the ghaleon headquarters.."Well, I s'pose burnin' down the town wasn't a good tactic in getting the out of this shit hole.. was it?" Speaking to himself and not knowing the man who nearly took his life was only a few cells down from him..

Immediately he began pacing about through the general vicinity, no longer occupied in a single thought about losing his life anymore, but more importantly how in the hell he was going to get out of that shithole alive...

Then as if out of nowhere a thought began to brew in his head remembering the words that the annoying general had spoken to him, he moved over to the bars and made an inquiry to one of the guards. "You know where Ka`zeh is? I was originally planning on speakin' to him but you dumbasses locked me up before I could!"

"Speaking like that will get you nowhere..." A flash of silver armor, the gleaming of the Ghalerion crest upon a breastplate... two eyes of glittering black gazed upon the one who spoke as he passed by the cell. "Ka`zeh won't be coming here for a while... I believe he's out doing buisness at the moment."

One glance at the symbol on his chest would quickly identify him as one of the head figures in the Ghalerion goverment; holding his helmet at his side with one gloved hand, relaxing the other digits around his mighty scythe, Gaidoku, one of the Four Generals, stared down upon the man named Von with clear distaste.

"It seems like you got yourself in this mess..." His voice would then drawl on, cold and hollow to every degree. "What is your buisness with the investigator?"

Arched a brow up at the inspector, catching his attention by surprise and merely continued leaning up against the wall, rather interested in the newfound general that had started speaking to him.
His words were at first insulting, but for once he decided to let it go and simply answer his question.

"My business with him orginally was to speak with him and ask him where I could find that Dusk fucker..He gets on my nerves, I'll tell you that much and chances are I'd probably try to fight him right now if I had the chance..even in the condition I'm in now.."

He meant every word he spoke, and indeed if the rogue was there right infront of him, chances were Von would stumble his way towards him and try to attack at the slightest impulse.

Gaidoku's elegant ebony brows were raised as he handed his helmet to a nearby guard, soon going about to slicking back his tri-colored strands. "Dusk... son of a bitch. I haven't seen his face since he escaped from this town... although at the time, I was much too busy tracking down my foolish brother."

As he continued to talk to the other man, he'd begin a slow and mesmerizing pace, flitting from one end of the cell and the back towards the other. "You haven't seen him, have you? A man three inches shorter than I, quite talkative... hard to miss."

Stopped immediately and began searching through his head, wondering who the hell the guard might've possibly been talking about. It wasn't long before his brain finally gave up and it just quit contemplating the subject.

"I'm afraid I have no idea who the hell you're talking about..all. I can say this much, though last time I saw Dusk he was headin' south of the tavern where my last bar fight was at, if you don't know ask which one, ask some of the guards. Half of them were there watching me go insane anyways..."

He merely turned his back against the side of one of the cell walls and casually leaned against it, merely tensing up his back to compensate for the pain he might've experienced from his chest wound.

Ka`zeh's steps were soft on the cobbelstones, but hurried nonetheless. He only had one more task to take care of before he could fall into the sweet embrace of his bed and get at least a few hours rest before he had to rise and battle the criminal activities of the night once again.

He puffed on the pipe once more, enjoying the taste of the black rine as he allowed the smoke to filter through his lungs for a moment. The detective pursed his lips as he exhaled, a very thin stream of smoke shooting out into the air. At least he had time to have himself a smoke.

It was now noon, and the residents of Ghalerion had finally begun to settle down. The damage to the city was being worked on by the carpenters, and the children were settling down in their homes with their families to enjoy a nice lunch. Several elderly citizens were taking a peaceful stroll through the streets, knowing they were relatively safe during the day.

Ka`zeh knew Ghalerion was never completely safe, however, having dealt with some scarce criminal activity during the day. He decided to follow a distance behind the senior citizens, since they were headed in the general direction of the headquarters anyway. The detective wanted to at least keep an eye on them until they made it into the more well guarded area of town.

"Von...what is that bastard thinking?" Ka`zeh mumbled, continuing to enjoy his pipe as he walked along behind the elderly, occassionally casting them a careful glance with his crimson orbs.

The general bristled as he watched the other from his spot, looking up and down his body as he took in the wounds that seemed littered across Von's chest and abdomen. "Looks like you got pretty beat up there." Small chitchat wasn't up his alley, but he needed to find out a few more things before the investigator arrived.

Though that time would fall short as his back suddenly stiffened, skin growing abnormally cold as his skin paled to a ghostly white, almost as if the dead were around him. "... I-I see... Thank you, Osore..." Then it was gone; the familiar hollowness in his ebony jewels was back, blinking casually before Gaidoku growled to Von, "You've just run out of luck Von... Ka`zeh's approaching the headquarters building and should arrive any minute."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"WHEEEE!!" Aarisa darted out from one of the empty alleyways, sliding along the water on the wet cobblestone like some child on a roller coaster ride. Hands thrown up into the air so her sleeves billowed out behind her, she would have crashed into the nearby fountain if it wasn't for the colonel's careful eye.
"God damnit, Aarisa!" He seized a hold of her arm and yanked her back, holding a digit to his lips. "You've got to stop making such a racket... if the government finds you, then they'll get rid of you for sure! You know what you did here last time, don't you? When you were with Ka`zeh?"
The young girl tilted her head to the side, emeralds still bright and full of excitement. "Of course! I tried to shoot some of the mean men who were beating him up."
"Yes, and because of that, you're wanted by the government. Now stop that apalling shrieking and stay near me, do you hear?"
Aarisa looked down with a depressive look upon her usually perky features, eyes nearly brimming with a large amount of tears. "Yes, Colonel..."
Merely grunted at the comment that was given to him by the general and continued his pacing back and forth through the room, getting rather impatient and slightly aggrivated, having not eaten, drank or done anything of leisure for a few days now, it wouldn't be long before he finally snapped, and as usual his temperment got the best of him in a relatively fast time-frame.
"Thank the fuck christ he's on his way. Be sure to bring him down here as soon as you see."
For the time being, he simply continued his pacing back and forth through the cell, pondering to himself what the hell was going to happen once Ka`zeh got there. He knew an interrogation would be coming, however he had no idea whether he'd be sentenced to death, life in jail, or some sort of community service. Whatever it was, he could already tell that when the detective came to see him, it wouldn't be a pleasant encounter.
Ka`zeh's keen ears picked up on the cheerful cry of someone very familiar. His eyes, ever precise as always, followed the sound, and managed to catch a glimpse of Aarisa before she was jerked back into hiding by someone. All he saw was an arm, and the detective quickly reacted.
Unsheathing his katana with his right hand, Ka`zeh dipped low, dashing at top speeds as he rounded the corner. His left arm snapped out, grabbing Yuudoku by the arm as he circumvented about the Colonel's form, the blade coming swiftly to touch against his neck. The detective pulled up a bit on his arm and growled, having not recognized the Colonel just yet.
"What the hell do you think you're doing to her?" Ka`zeh growled dangerously, threatening to push the blade even further into Yuudoku's neck.
"Kazzie!" Aarisa cried cheerfully, looking all too happy to see the other, although from where Yuudoku was at this point, he looked rather puzzled.
"Woah now... that's not something you'd do to a superior officer..." cautioned the man as he rose a fingertip to lightly push back the blade. "Don't you remember when we met? I'm Yuudoku, Gaidoku's twin brother. I'm sure you know all of the Four Generals..."
To continue his point, the other hand would loft until it opened up the flap of his uniform, the identifying nameplate and Ghalerion symbol located at the points in which he directed them to. "I was just looking for you actually... and so was she. Your girlfriend's been awefully worried after I got her out of jail."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gaidoku let out a relatively small growl before he took his helmet back from the guard, cape following his somewhat bulky movements as he made his way back towards the stairs. "I will make sure to send him your way... once I'm done."

And with that, all the chills within the near-empty dungeon were sucked dry along with the man's daunting presence, silence once again enveloping Von and his fellow prisonmates.

Ka`zeh's eyes widened as he realized who he was threatening. Although Yuudoku didn't outrank him by much, the detective had always admired the Colonel's kind nature towards the citizens of Ghalerion, and that commanded respect from him in all aspects.

"I-I'm sorry.I did not realize it was you, sir," The detective offered his apologies, backing off and sheathing his katana, offering a low bow to the Colonel of Ghalerion.
