Where are we?

The Prince has a special castle in the mountains that he uses especially for galas that span multiple days. The terrain is rockier, and the castle overlooks the Sins District and it's massive magma rivers. From this distance, it's easy to see the destruction angels once wrought on the landscape during the last battles before the treaties. Large scars still score the barren red earth. In the distance, dark wisps make up a forest on the horizon.

Despite the opulent gardens, and the few looming trees that managed to cling to the rocky incline, even here the ground is dusty and reddish. Some wealthier demons may choose to take a carriage ride to and from the castle, as many have their own smaller 'summer' homes around the castle, but many enjoy the hospitality of the sprawling castle, with its many guest rooms and surrounding offshoots, to come and go from the main hall as they please. Some demons choose to just pass out where they are when they can't keep their eyes open any longer, but others prefer to socialize in the gardens, or enjoy what it must feel like to be the wealthiest demon in hell, several regiments of servants and guards at the ready to take care of the most valued guests. Even those less fortunate demons can enjoy a small taste of the high life with an invitation to such an event.

Now, though, you've gotten yourself into trouble. The Prince has decided to extent your stay. The massive suite his chose for his most closely observed guests is nice enough--as long as no one does damage to it. Seven rooms face a large sitting area, replete with a small kitchen filled mostly with little snacks. A few tables, some books, some soft chairs, and not much else to pass the time except make your own entertainment. There are windows, which look out to a pretty little garden, but they don't open, and no amount of pushing, smashing, or punching will net freedom.

The rooms themselves are very pretty as well, with large, four poster beds, that already happen to have your things laid out on them. You only have the clothes you packed with you. There is an elegant wardrobe in the corner, as well as a desk, but there is nothing in them, just a few moth balls in the drawers. There is only one door to each room, which leads to a small bathroom, with a sink and a toilet. There is no door to shut between the bedroom and the sitting room, however, which means very little privacy. For the moment, there also seems to be no door out. There's certainly a space where one might go, but it seemed to vanish the moment the last person was shoved in by the guards. Almost as if the Prince can manipulate the building as he pleases. So be on your best behavior.

Abadeer Tyrano is the current Prince of the Underworld. It might be a figurehead position, but it is well earned – the pride demon is strong and powerful enough to bend most demons to his will. Abadeer is already mated, though no children have come from the union. Rumour has it his bride favours the fairer sex and keeps the company of a gorgeous succubus. This has made the council and advisors exceptionally paranoid about the line of succession, but Abadeer himself doesn’t seem to mind.

The Prince is well known for keeping a harem of accomplished demons. Every few years, he’ll meet someone new and welcome them to court. The happy couple will dazzle all, but over the course of a few years, the passion fades and the cycle starts anew. But being part of the Prince’s harem is no short end of the stick – it is a life of luxury, utterly free of worries. No material want goes unfulfilled, and no longer is there the need to worry about Hell’s complex social games.

Most recently, the Prince broke his pattern, replacing his new favourite in mere months, and asking the first to leave the palace. It has left many dying to know what it all means~

Bits and Pieces

-After a war between demons and angels, a treaty exists to keep the peace. Relevant details for this game mostly include souls – once considered so common they were like currency in Hell, very few demons will have the opportunity to claim a human soul now.

-Demons will always be the sin type of one of their parents. There is no such thing as a ‘hybrid demon’, though unsurprisingly, many demons do show strong traits of other sins.

-Lust demons are often referred to as incubi and succubi, based on their physical presentation.

-Items belonging to angels are very rare and highly prized.

-Plants in hell are imbued with energy that grants them mystical properties when properly prepared. Those who have the knowledge needed to fully utilise them can charge exorbitant amounts for their expertise. Manifested plants do not have these properties, and are merely pretty to look at.

-A demon has full control over their domain, including who enters and exits. It takes a significant power imbalance to overcome the will of a demon on their territory.

-Demon abilities are somewhat innate but require practice to master. Results can be dramatically improved as the demon gains power and works to hone their skill.

-Years of study can lead to a demon learning how to harness arcane energy. Once learned, the demons can apply the ‘magic’ to an object by carving symbols into it to direct the flow of energy. The object must be real – not manifested, and not the result of a greed demon’s duplication power. Sustained curses require a power source – often the victim themselves. The more powerful an enchantment, the easier it is to detect. It is possible to design a curse to only trigger when certain conditions are met. The object must have enough surface area to hold the entire runic sequence. Spells can include a caveat that no one can speak about the spell when it is active.
