Founded sometimes around the 19th century by one of the five Legendary Heroes of the modern world, Sir Caitrias Elemiris, the Academy has been holding the privilege of being one of the most prestigious schools in the world, and the only known facility on Earth where young people of bearing extraordinary talents learn about the world they are living in, discover new aspects from the life that extends far outside of the planet, and most importantly, hone their skills so that one day they may succeed the current generation of heroes. Since its' foundation, the Academy has had 27 Headmasters and Headmistresses, and had undergone many changes and upgrades in learning facilities, curriculum and faculty every time a new one is appointed.
The Academy is situated on a secluded artificial island on Pacific Ocean. The island is also the destination of a small city called Ecclesia, built by people with supernatural gifts and inhabited by them, and is protected by a strong force field that renders all means of detection useless. Funded by governments and secret organizations across the world, Lulamond Academy is granted access to the most advanced and state-of-the-art technology, guaranteed to provide the students with the best environment for their training and development. From a super A.I. that oversees and supervises the activities that occur all around the campus to simulation rooms where realistic settings can be created for students to test their field abilities. Other than that, it has all sorts of services and facilities that can be found in a normal high school, and all are of top-notch quality which students can use whenever they like. And everything is, of course, free of charge.
One cannot simply attend Lulamond Academy if they choose so. They must be personally invited by the ambassadors sent by the faculty or being introduced by a member of the staff. But even so, they are not guaranteed a spot as a student. The Academy classifies students into two categories - heroes with superpowers and heroes with non-superpowers. Each category has its' own tests and requirements one needs to meet if they want earn their spot. One thing that all students can agree is that the entrance tests they gone through in order to be where they are now are impossibly brutal, and only the most determined who have proven themselves have succeeded.
After students are officially a new member of Lulamond Academy, they will be given a PDA that acts like an ID card for them, as well as informing them of new notifications, contacting within the private server of the school, accessing to the valuable sources of information, and many more. The total study course each student takes will last for about four to five years, depending on each of the student's strength. Once they are graduated, they will be formally granted with a license from the International Department of Supernaturals (IDS) which allows them to perform superheroes' acts legally. Many students who graduated from Lulamond have went on to become well-known heroes across the world, or become teachers and professors to continue to guide their succeeding generation.
Extra-curricular activities are also one of many aspects that students hold very highly at Lulamond. Once every year, an annual Ball will be held to celebrate the founding day of the Academy. There will also be a festival for every season and talent competitions where students can show their so-called 'normal skills' aside from their extraordinary gifts. Once every two years, a tournament for the title of 'the Undefeated' will be held, where students are pit against each other and fight their ways to the very top to decide who is the best. This is one of the most anticipated events, as aside from taking away the trophy and the title, the winners will be granted with special privileges for the rest of their school years. After school, students may hang out with each other within Ecclesia, join clubs' activities, or just went home. They either stay at the Dormitory of Lulamond or, if they can afford the ridiculously humongous price, rent an apartment.
A total number of 58 professors and staff members are currently working at Lulamond Academy. Each grade is comprised of 7 classes from A to J, with the first four ones being classes for heroes with superpowers and the remaining three for the non-superpower ones. And similar to that of a normal high school, each class will have one head teacher and one advisory teacher, as well as a set of subjects teachers. Students will learn academic knowledge such as Mathematics, Literature, etc., knowledge about superpowers and extraterrestrial realms and, taking up about 45% of their studies, practical field training.
With the order from the IDS, the current Headmaster of Lulamond Academy, Sir Edelweiss, had integrated a new system within the school known as the 'team system.' Basically, 1082 students currently in training at the Academy will be sorted teams which comprise of two members, one male and one female each. The students may choose their own partner, regardless of classes and grades, and report to the faculty. If students didn't manage to find a partner in due time, M.A.V.I.S., the school's supervising A.I., will automatically pair them up. Since then, the team system has become the main grading system of Lulamond.
Alongside practical field training and simulation training, missions where the teams are sent to deal with in order to maintain peace and aid the civilians that are in need will add up the points that a team can earn. Combined with how their individual performances at school hold up and whether they violate any rules or not, the ranking for the teams will be decided. Every two weeks, the ranks will be updated, and teams that did not make it to the compulsory score will have to attend tutoring classes. The top ranks team though will receive no special privileges, except for bragging rights. For the senior year students, their teams' rankings will have a big impact on their overall statistics at the end of their course, and will be the main factor deciding whether they are qualified enough to graduate or not.
A detailed ranking is listed as below (noted that the scores are enlisted on a 1000 points scale):
Rank 1 - Rank 10 (from 850 points to above): Allowed to pick S-rank to SS-rank missions that are highly dangerous and possibly life-threatening. Automatically granted 200 points at the beginning of the next fortnight.
Rank 11 - Rank 50 (from 700 points to 849 points): Allowed to pick A-rank to S-rank missions. Automatically granted 100 points at the beginning of the next fortnight.
Rank 51 - Rank 100 (from 550 points to 699 points): Allowed to pick B-rank missions. Automatically granted 50 points at the beginning of the next fortnight.
Rank 101 - Rank 250 (from 350 points to 549 points): Allowed to pick C-rank missions or simple civilian duties.
Rank 251 and lower (below 350 points): Must attend tutoring classes to improve their score.
First and foremost, all students must abide by the general rules within the campus. They are the codes that one can always find within any other normal schools in the world. For example, students must not be late for school nor skip classes without an acceptable reason, and must follow the general code of dressing: anything they found to be comfortable for their studying, but not too skimpy and revealing nor too eye-catching, and the likes. Violations of these general rules will cause points in the overall ranking scores to be removed, depending on the extent of violations.
Students are expected to treat the professors and the staff members with utmost of respect. When a student is rebellious against members of the faculty, the professors have the right to use their authority to discipline the said student as they see fit. If a student believes a teacher is abusing their authority, they may report the said case to M.A.V.I.S. and the higher-ups will look through the case to decide if it is true or not, and will reward or compensate the said student for their reports. Fights between students without the permission of the faculty are strictly forbidden, and depending on the seriousness of the fights and the damage caused to the facilities of school in the process, students may be punished by automatically landing in the bottom rank or, most severely, expulsion from the Academy.
During missions, it is of the students' duty to try and find the most efficient means to accomplish their tasks, and to keep the casualties as low as possible. Unless given specific orders and permission to eliminate a target, students are strictly prohibited from killing. For the first time, their team will automatically landed in the bottom rank for five fortnights, and will be forbidden from ever receiving A-rank missions and above for the rest of their study years. Violated for a second time, students will immediately receive expulsion from school, and will be sent directly to the IDS Reformatory Center, where they will be stripped of their gifts and receive reformation until they can redeem themselves.
There are numerous of means in which students can do in order to earn points for their team's overall ranking score. If a student follow the general rules with no records of violation in the concurrent fortnight, they will be granted with 100 points in their final scores. During exams, students may receive extra points in their ranking score in accordance to the results of their tests, with 150 points at the highest and zero point at the lowest. Participation in extra-curricular activities will also earn students points based on their contributions to the said activities.
The most effective mean for teams to earn their ranks, though, is by accomplishing missions. C-rank and B-rank missions will always be updated daily on the students' PDAs, while selected teams that received A-rank and S-rank missions will be consulted by the professors, and SS-rank missions, also known as 'special missions', will be consulted by the Headmaster himself. Students only need to bring proofs of C-rank and B-rank to the faculty to show that they have finished them, while teams that received A-rank missions and above will be supervised by a professor or professors tasked to accompany them, and will come to their aids should the situation called for it. A list of points earned by accomplishing missions is stated as following:
SS-rank missions - 850 points, given full scores for three of their upcoming tests and a monetary reward.
S-rank missions - 650 points, given full scores for one of their upcoming tests and a monetary reward.
A-rank missions - 350 points and a monetary reward.
B-rank missions - 100 points.
C-rank missions - 75 points.
