I'm...Lost.

It could have always been worse, it always could have been worse. That was the mantra one must adopt out here in the Brazilian wilderness. Green expanded in the iris until there was nothing but. The jungle engulfed the silence of his mind, quaking and shaking it until he had broken. The realization lay across his mind like the clothes that stuck to his skin, dew dampened and destroyed by Brazil. This man was completely and utterly lost. He had no idea where he was, or how to get back to where he would know where he was.

Knife, check. It was still in it's sheath, clinging to his thigh as the remnants of his pants did. They would dry faster now that he cut them to shorts. He had to, else he would have never been able to climb this tree. The gained height was useless. Humidity obscured all direction in a dense and wild fog. Disoriented beyond belief, it would be a miracle if he ever found his way back.

Completely surrounded by himself.

He nestled further into the crook of the tree, finding mild comfort in his position. An advantage. Something to calm the tremble in his heart, the fear that rocked his mind. Nervous as hell, he chewed his cheek to keep from jittering. His senses were heightened as time slithered by, the recent rain settling on the branches. . This was real, he could die out here. His life was in danger. Far, far from camp, armed with a knife and a canteen and some spare cloth- He froze, going over his personal inventory. Shorts. Shirt scraps. Hunting knife, pocket knife. Rope belt. He had discarded his shoes and run barefoot.

A hand moved to the knife. What was he preparing for? Was fear itself going to drop from the higher branches like a bear? He glanced up, then out and around. One never knew, in the jungles of Brazil.

The night stood still, stiller than the moon high above the canopies. The vast green forest, an endless sea of desperation and hopelessness. What happened? The sun shone bright in the midmorning sky, dulling every sense in the males body. The after shock effect of being knocked out rang in the males mind, still feeling the dizziness. Bruises glittered up and down his body, creating a spectacular display of black, blue and red. Every muscle involuntary to move, sore for the lack of oxygen of being unconscious. The night, a hazy blur, came back in small fragments, only to remind him of the great dangers of Brazil.

The ground rattled and sunk underneath the males weight, giving way only a little. Finally, upon standing, the forest colors were bright and exotic, gleaming the morning sunlight effective from every row in the forest. The wildlife was amazing, snakes and other insects and reptiles crawled around going about their daily lives. Far out, above the tree lines, black clouds formed, massive clouds, that promised an unending storm that would be the quake of this life. The rattling of lightning struck deep into the forest as smoke rose, creating a black and hazy cloud above the trees. All the animals started to panic, scattered for their homes within the jungle, but not Maddox. He strode toward the darkened clouds, anxious to meet the whoever was there.

The stroll was quick, expect for the occasional scattered of animals. The clouds shone high overhead, presenting themselves in perfect diameters above. They formed around the tallest tree, almost creating a nest. The material wasn't smoke, but a black gel substance that almost seemed impossible to move around in. It was the beginning and the end of the brazillian rain forest, and the start of a new age. Suddenly, in the back of his mind there was something panicking. An alarm appeared to be going off, constantly warning him of an intruder near by. The hazel eyes scanned the trees, spotting an humanoid shape just among the tree branches. The shape appeared in shorts, and no shoes. This humanoid appeared not to be anymore dangerous than a hornet.

Maddox strolled just fifty feet from the male hunched up in the branches, peering up. A twisted smirk lined the male's face, reaching for the dual blade scimitar's that rested within their sheaths, just slowly brushing past the half plate armor that rested upon his chest. This shall be quick and simple.

"Hello, my friend. Why don't you come down from that tree so we can have a nice little.er.conversation."

He ran.

Flitting through the trees, knife jammed back in it's sheath, the lost man ran. he ambled through branches, shot down one tree and took off barefoot through the forest as fast as his legs would carry him.

He didn't even bother looking back, for the sight of the man had scared the living hell out of him. Was it one of the attackers? This man was not about to stick around to find out. Jumping for another tree, he kicked to gain height again and scurried into the branches.
