It's not a terrible idea. How about you shoot out some more information and then you will probably get some more feedback.

Things like, what characters are applicable. Just marvel ones, or simply your own created ones in the Marvel universe allowing them to interact with other characters?

My idea like for the X-men one I started is that main characters like Prof. X nad Storm are NPCs until somebody decides to play them. And Also like the X-Men: New Legends you can make your own character with your own powers kinda like my char is a male version of storm who can control earth elements instead of sky.

I know there is a group of Marvel RPers around here somewhere. Andy, Ashish, Justin, TJ? I'm not sure if they stick to the Ultimate X-Men series, or what.

I have been playing the character known as "Gambit" who started as the Gambit from the Ultimate series. I've been playing him for a few years now and there exists a group of us who play various other characters as well.

From our beginning stages the following list of characters have been played by different people: Gambit, Wolverine, Professor X, Colossus, Rogue, Night Crawler, Black Cat, Spiderman, Punisher, and DareDevil. Some others were introduced as well but were played for extremely short periods of time.

Since then, many of the above mentioned have left or gone on extended (and maybe permanent) hiatus. As of now, the only active characters remaining are Gambit (me) and Rogue (to some extent). Control of Professor X has also been shifted to me to help move along the ongoing storyline. The person who plays DareDevil is also still around and will probably play that character again if asked. The person who plays Logan is around on some rare occasions and I know if time and will permitted, he would play Logan again.

Since the storyline has been going for a long period of time and still develops (albeit much more slowly) even now, Gambit no longer fits the "Ultimate" persona. He still retains all the qualities and most of the personality traits that you would expect from Gambit, and I have sworn to keep Gambit's history intact as described in the comics, however he has aged from 19 to somewhere between 21-23 (I'd have to look it up to see exactly what my Gambit character's age is right now) and has a huge addition to his history from the years of roleplay. To describe the numerous events he has gone through would take pages of writing and huge amounts of time to describe. Long story short, he now owns Gambit's Bar in Wing City and is married to Tayrn Sunstar (now Tayrn LeBeau) with two children, one of which displays mutant powers, the other too young.

I'm glad that you are willing to do a Marvel Universe RolePlay and I will support you 100%, but I ask that you respect those players who already have Marvel Characters and leave them be. All the people who have ever played in the previous Marvel Universe RolePlay played the Marvel characters personalities and traits perfectly so as not to make a mockery of them. They also went through a quick "Yes" or "No" screening/approval process to ensure the one who played an established Marvel Universe character would respect the character and not abuse/overly modify their powers. So I can guarantee that those who already have Marvel characters play them very well.

Best thing to do is just to pop in the chat and talk to me if you want more information. If you find someone suitable to play Professor X correctly, I'll be glad to give him up. Other than that, run with the idea and I'll see who all I can get to join up with you.

That is why in the X-Men New Legends I created in thhe Fictional section I did not take on the character of Logan and instead have chosen to make it where you can make your own character. I do believe however that you would be an exelant person to play with within the Marvel universe and I have only one question about Gambit. Did you mean that you put the X-Men character into the Multiverse world because I got a little lost on that.

RPGateway originated out of a dedicated population of roleplayers from a place called AnimeMetro - and many of the heavy roleplayers here still exist from those days many years ago. My Gambit character started there in a big Marvel RolePlay, and when we moved over here to Gwing.net (Now known as RPGateway) we continued our characters in the Multiverse. You bring up a good point though, I haven't posted a new updated version of Gambit's profile in the profile's thread. I'll do that later when I get a chance to help maybe clear up some confusion.

So in short, basically all of the already existing Marvel characters are in the Multiverse.

Okay so pretty much all we need to do is create a new RP strictly (Sorts) dedicated to the Marvel universe.

Yup, I'd start with finding willing members to play characters are make their own. Once you get a group of people willing to run with the idea, you're set to unleash them on their own story line.

Ashish, you know I love you right?

Holy fuck you bastards- I hate you. You all keep trying to pull me out of retirement, whether you know me or not. >.<

I ran a Forum RPG on a board at anime league for a very brief stint. We had a falling out between a player or two and our main bad guy, and then I just stopped maintaining it. It was very dissapointing.

Basically the rule there was the same- NPC's until a suitable candidate volunteers for the role, customizable characters were allowed, everything had to be approved before it was thrown into gameplay.

At AM though, we had a very much bad ass marvel RP that was basically mixed into the normal universe and made a part of the normal world.

Is April still on AL? just a side question.

Anywho, you may be able to coaxe me into this, as I may have time these days. Someone would have to keep on my back like Yoda and hit me with a knobby stick most of the time. (Edge, I love you too)

I've been in, I'm all for playing Gambit. And now we have the original guy who played Logan (Wolverine) back too, so this definitely could kick off very well. I think the other guys should start picking up characters or making their custom characters so they can get it approved as being within the realm of reasonable possibility in the Marvel universe.

Damn right.

-gets out the Yoda-pack and fits it on Andy's back. Climbs into it-

Mush! -Hits Andy with the knobby stick- Speaking of pulling people out of retirement, don't look so innocent yourself. It seems I'm being pulled out by you.

Ah what the hell, you only live a couple of times. Why is it we don't have a resident Necromancer anyway?

If we're doing this, does this mean we should start with the death of Captain America? Or was he part of that other comic book thing?

IIIII was actually unaware of Cap's death until i saw it on MSN. I don't subscribe to comics anymore, I hate waiting til next month just to read a few more pages- I buy the issues in graphic novel form now. And I don't visit Marvel.com very often to find this shit out either, so I'll just wait until it comes out in graphic novel form to read the story.

CAPTAIN AMERICA'S DEAD!? WTF!?
