Hello all, here's a brief summary of what Melody of Ruin is!
Melody of Ruin is an action-adventure fantasy taking place in a more modern setting within a massive castle. There are some small influences of Final Fantasy (4-9 at least) and, of course, Castlevania. While the intent is to be more action oriented than my previous efforts, there is still considerable focus on character, and a bit of moral flavor.
Story Summary:The story, in short, is a world with a cycle where a great struggle between mankind (and a few other allied races) and monsters have resulted in people's continued push for growth, unity, and power. A whole history of heroes rising and the greatest monster being slain, forcing the darkness to retreat.
However, the most recent attack, the worst yet, a serpent greater than any monster before arose from the oceans, made of red fluid, threatened to destroy all civilization. An enchanted weapon, the Adrichal Spike, was made, and given to the once greatest champions, and with a heroic sacrifice, the weapon was plunged into the monstrous serpent, seemingly stopping it entirely.
Instead of stopping it, however, it underwent a metamorphosis, melting away into a somewhat more manlike form, and then after a moment of silence, spoke, making a declaration that it will "extend this gift to all." With a display of might, he tore open a rift in space, of which a massive castle emerged to which many of the greatest minds were pulled into its halls, and the monsters were gathered. Now the world is ruled by Yam Suph, as it calls itself now, and now without any champion to stand against it, monsters now rule.

Honor and arrogance are two sides of the same coin. We don't need standards like "honor," we just need mutual respect, and to do right by ourselves, as well as others.
