A Society Based on the Rule of Two. Two siblings, two bonds, two everything. Recently undergoing extreme upheaval.
"Shhh." He murmured and pet her hair gently. "She's been warned. My youngest brother is being shielded. She knows. She'll stop him. I'm just sorry she didn't in time." If she even could. If either of them could without the two older brother's help. He didn't know, but that sliver of hope kept him going when all else failed. "He will be stopped, I am sure." He assured her, and continued to pet her hair, trying to sooth her.It was for naught he was sure. She would die tonight, and he only hoped she died as peacefully as he tried to let her. It could have been worse. He could have been ordered to leave a clear message, and then her death would have been messy and horrifying and he...he hated doing that. He ignored his own tears and held her to the end. When it was done, he positioned her body just so and headed out the window, perched carefully on the rime, before he slipped out, landing well on the ground below and blending into the crowd. A back suit didn't show blood, after all.
Kissare smiled and gently helped her to her knees, removing the sword withe great care. Equally gently, he slid in through her front instead, through her abdomen. There would be no living through this, but he could make it look like she killed herself with honor. Wasn't that how they did it today? He smiled gently and pet her hair."My hope is that my sister in law stops my father. That is my only hope." The only hope he could have. There was a serene smile on his face. "Until then, forgive me miss, but I do." But he would remain until he as certain she was dead, poor woman. He hated to kill her. She at least would not die alone. Her murderer would remain there the entire time. He ignored the tear that slid down his face, all too familiar with the sensations. He was Kassen the Bloodthirsty, the mage's sword, and he was cursed to obey.
