If you're okay with taking suggestions, might I point you in the direction of the ever-versatile hand-and-a-half sword? Can be used with or without a shield or both hands, double-edged, pretty badass... just a thought.

And yes, in Japanese months are just numbers followed by "gatsu" which literally means "month". Pretty boring, eh? Makes for a good spear name, though. =)
