Re: The Agency of the Supernatural

Okay, I've made my opening post. Due to tiredness, it doesn't quite cover everything I'd hoped for. However, that does give you guys a little more freedom to explain the current world, which I was going to open into. My plan is still to have Ravinter join the fray properly as an existing member of t...

The Resurrection of a Legend

The rising sun cast a coral glow on the ancient stone circle of the arena; a fiery warmth that defied the chill winds and gentle flutter of slow-falling spring snowflakes. But for the wind whistling through cracks in the wondrous structure's walls, silence laid heavy on the once-renowned venue of v...

Re: RPG's New Design Team

I've been away from the site for a considerable while, and there are definitely a few things that need fixing from a design perspective; mostly in the realms of usability and consistency. A few examples I've come across: Fonts: The serif font is pretty awful and not particularly easy to read when in...

Boss Battle Interest Check

So, I'm looking for something to throw off the dust on my writing skills. A boss-type battle seems like something reasonable to do that. As such, I'm wondering if a group of people would be interested in battling against me. I will be using my Saladin Akara character, and the fight would probably ha...

Re: Newsflash: 24h Comic

I'd also suggest you get permission to use people's characters. They're their creations after all.

Re: Underrated Series You Believe Everyone Should Watch!

Seeing as there isn't any specification for the medium here, I'll suggest a couple of my own... The Riftwar Cycle by Raymond E Feist. A great fantasy series that centres around young boy who grows to become a powerhouse of legend. It has political intrigue, enigmatic villains who could also be misgu...

Re: Face Claims: Yay Or Nay??

Okay, I couldn't be bothered to read the other posts, so I might be repeating previous points, but I don't care about that... Roleplaying is, by definition, a creative activity. Predefining 'faces' for characters limits that creativity, so why bother? I completely detest the idea that any facet of m...

Re: How to roleplay: Everything you'll ever need to know.

The difference between combat in a roleplay and text combat is simple: the latter is competitive, the former is (or SHOULD be) collaborative.

Re: Looking for a fight. Only reply if interested.

I'd potentially be interested if you could assure me you're able to use more than half the width of the posting area. Otherwise the idea of having to read more of your posts is off-putting to say the least.

Re: Who Should Own the Internet?

The ownership of the internet is an interesting one. It is simply a massive collection of interconnected computers that communicate with each through a variety of protocols. There is no single protocol for communication - for example, websites use HTTP, the different instant messaging providers use ...

Re: Fight or Flight? How Important is RP Combat?

I detest fighting when it turns into text combat. At that point, you have two writers who are both "playing to win" rather than writing a piece of collaborative fiction. Yup. RP combat (ie, combat within a roleplay) isn't the same as text combat and shouldn't be treated as such. So there ...

Re: Bug found: Jump to Page not working

The 'jump to page' feature works fine for me, both in the main Activity tab of the Multiverse and in the Gambit's Bar location. I did the jump to final page from the first as well as a few other jumps, and also directly altering the URL to get to a page.

Re: Why Do People Hate the Military?

No, it isn't 'political persuasion' that puts you in the military, I never said it was. What I said was that the military's job is to follow orders. Those orders invariably, at least in terms of the west, come from the government. It isn't 'liberal' or whatever. And during the World Wars people did ...

Re: Why Do People Hate the Military?

The military does a very specific job - whatever the current in-power government tells them to. Some people are unable to differentiate between the military and the government, and so express anger at the military when actually they are angry at the government for making certain decisions and giving...

Re: Followers of Dionysus - Secrets Revealed 2012

Actually, the team formerly called Mentors have been re-alligned to become the Scholars. Our responsibilities have changed, and our mission updated to allow a broader spectrum of users to join the ranks of blue. THAT'S what you pick out? (Also, I'm pretty sure that 'mentors' wasn't used in the user...
