Re: MurderBrawl I (OOC And Sign Ups)

Might have to rush this post to get it done on time. It's an intro post, and I'll either discard the suit and breathe through my feet, or wear the suit and stay low temp, so you know what's gonna be in it. Edit: I've also had a lot of stress this week regarding other aspects of my life, which keeps ...

Re: Stem Tier Differential (T1)

ah, you misunderstand me. I don't have anything against your system in particular. I was simply trying to offer a scenario of how I imagine people might react. Cause while we don't have to cater our systems to people neccessarily, we should still consider how people will use them. Speed, as I under...

Re: MurderBrawl I (OOC And Sign Ups)

Simply manipulations, like juggling fire, churning and forming water I see no need to have preparation for, because they're no effecting anything.

FYI You don't need preps for those things.

Re: Stem Tier Differential (T1)

I suppose it would be my fault to assume you are able to understand without me elaborating meticulously on everything. 1. The idea of numerical power levels was supposed to emphasize the question and stimulate more thoughts. And it saddens me that I am only getting a DBZ out of it... My original th...

Re: Stem Tier Differential (T1)

If you want to prove it's too broad, come up with two characters that fit into what you believe is the lowest and highest end of the same tier, and post it in the thread for us to debate over. Bow dude (with just that super special bow, assuming it's regular arrows and they infinitely replenish) Vs...

Re: Stem Tier Differential (T1)

Bow dude (with just that super special bow, assuming it's regular arrows and they infinitely replenish) Vs Sirius' second iteration of Stoneskin. Or really any type of armor hard enough to stop arrows from doing anything. They'd both be T3 and the bow dude doesn't have a chance. Ever. You're using ...

Re: Stem Tier Differential (T1)

Just out of curiosity, why not have only three tiers? 1: Basic : No supernatural, only feudal level equipment 2: Basic Plus : An in Between that is Basic - except for agreed move sets (100% define with no room of altering/vagueness) 3: Advanced : Anything goes except what is agreed by the players T...

Re: MurderBrawl I (OOC And Sign Ups)

I see no need to change the rules we use. They are dated, but everyone knows them. The prep thing he mentioned is commonly known, so it's not needed to be studied. The rules we have here are the basics, anything beyond them is simply extra info. If there is some kind of problem, then I would say fi...

Re: Stem Tier Differential (T1)

Seems a bit too broad. For example, if a guy has a good crossbow that limits the ability of his opponent to enter close-range combat, that would labelled as Tier-3 when it should be like Tier 1. Tier 1 is explicitly hand to hand combat, or anything less effective (which really means just hand to ha...

Stem Tier Differential (T1)

Stem Tier Differential Written by: TwilightShade Introduction: Throughout my time fighting text combat, I've noticed the lack of a clear, universal power level system. Many systems I've come across use comparisons to fictional characters, and set up a rough system of "abilities commonly found ...

Re: MurderBrawl I (IC Lobby)

"This is gonna be intense." Squinting up at the mountain's peak, Magnus grinned; excitement jolted through him as anticipation caused his body to surge with heat. This particular area proved ideal for launches; the smooth, upward curve of an otherwise rocky surface ended at an almost verti...

I'm in a hurry. So I'm just gonna launch my character off a planet, crash into, through, and out of the lobby, and crash land on the stage. kk? kk.

I'll have my lobby post up sometime tonight. If Rilla posts before or at that point I'll reply to that too.

Re: MurderBrawl I (OOC And Sign Ups)

Actually, the IC can heavily effect what occurs in the fights, so I suppose that why. Elaborating on this, if one contestant sabotages you, and it ends up breaking your knee, then guess what? You have a broken knee going into your next fight. It forces you to manage two battles, per se; the T1 batt...

Why are only two of the fights up right now? Not that I'm in a rush to get my first post written, but I'm used to all of the fights going up at roughly the same time.

Re: MurderBrawl I (OOC And Sign Ups)

NOTHING is overpowered. The only thing that limits you is your creativity. What about a punch that can hit anything, anywhere, instantly and reduce the target to a pile of cookies before they can react? That sounds overpowered to me. That's called force-hitting, which is against the T1 rules. So ye...

Re: Battle Poll

To further clarify, I'll make a dummy profile that adheres to the rule he wants to implement. Fire Elemental Joe Schmoe blahblah physical info here btw he's your standard hunk not that that means anything in a fighting roleplay ABILITIES: Fireball: Makes a fireball. Fire Wave: Makes a wave of fire. ...
