xxxI would sell my soul for a bit more time
xxxYou stain all on my body like you're red wine
xxxYou're the fuckin' acid to my alkaline
xxxYou run your middle finger up and down my spine
xxxI'm sorry there was no one to apologize

After Erin had asked that final question, a bit of dread began to fill her entire body. She didn't know why, but the small pause of silence that filled the air between the two woman was suffcatingly thick. Erin could have sworn she couldn't breathe, like all of the oxygen in her lungs had been snuffed out, and she was left gasping for air. But she was taken out of her thoughts when another voice spoke up, seeing it was only Harold that had brought the woman's food over to them. The tension that suddenly filled the room was palpable, and it was only making her current state of nerves worse by the second. Thankfully, he asked Xan if she'd need anything else and he soon shuffled back behind the counter. Erin let out an audible exhale as she felt her entire body finally relax into the booth again, finally being able to breathe once more. That was until the woman finally spoke up, which caught Erin off guard for a moment. Somehow, she had entirely forgotten what she was doing there for a moment. Blinking out of her confused state as the woman talked once more, putting two items onto the table, next to Erin's own phone and keys. It took the blonde woman a moment to piece it together, but they were the exact same items. Erin reached out for a moment, but immediately retracted her hand, she couldn't bring herself to touch the items.

Her green eyes trailed over back to the woman as she continued, finally telling Erin her last name, which was apparently Monaghan, that they were in her own home town of Widow's Peak, and that she has two best friends. But sadly, none of that was ringing any bells right off the bat for her. It took her mind a few moments to register what was being told to her. As she sat there, it finally sunk in. Her name was Erin Monaghan, she was born and raised in Widow's Peak...Her mom and dad, well, her brain didn't let her ponder on that for too long. Her birthday was...March...fifteenth? Yes. March fifteenth. All of that was allowed to come back to her, but why? It didn't make sense to her. But the two names she was given, Markus and Soren? As hard as she tried, the faces didn't come to mind. She recognized the names after a moment, but just barely. But the faces, who the names belonged to; well, that wa bogged down by cloudy vision and distorted images in her mind. Why couldn't she remember them? What was keeping her from remembering them? And why? Those thoughts kept coming back to her and it terrified her, as a sinking feeling began to fill her. And she didn't know why. Why couldn't she remember?

Erin blinked as the woman introduced herself finally. Xan. Xan Cole. Her brows furrowed together tightly across her forehead as she tried to make the connection there. But her mind was blanking entirely. Sure, the name was familiar, but she didn't know why. The feeling the name brought to her was filled with anxiety and a bit of unease, but as Erin looked the girl over, the feelings went away. Why would thinking about the name cause those feelings, when she looked at her, Erin didn't feel anything negative? Something just wasn't adding up to her. Then again, none of this was, so what did she expect? Erin sat back in the booth, until the next few words left Xan's mouth. Phoenix Cole. Nixie.. That was when the dots began to connect. But she didn't know how or why she remembered that name-who she dated. Erin blinked for a moment. That name, and connection there caused a small pull in Erin's chest. It was a tightening feeling that made it harder to breathe. That never ending feeling of severe anxiety and uncertainty returning once more, as she was more or less frozen in place, hands on the table in front of her as they were clasped tightly together in front of her. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't make the connection to a face. Her mind just, wouldn't allow it. It was blocking something out, not letting her remember. But why? All she wanted to know was why.

The blonde thought that she had heard it all. That everything Xan had to tell her was said and done with. She would have been able to have stopped there. It was enough for her then, her brain was already having a hard time register it all. But then Xan spoke once more, and Erin could have sworn her heart stopped. She didn't realize just how heavy and hard her heart had been pounding in her chest, but the moment it stopped, Erin's whole body froze in place. She...She died? Erin shook her head, no. There. There was no way. Right? There couldn't have been a way that she died. She was sitting right here. She was alive. This whole thing was some sick joke. It had to have been. There was just no way. Erin wanted to get up and just walk out of there. She needed to get some fresh air, something to calm her nerves. Just, none of this could be real, right? Erin's eyes found themselves trailing Xan's hands down to her own, and was prepared to feel the sensation was skin on her own hands. But she didn't. There was nothing. In fact, Xan's hands phased through Erin's own. No contact was made. What in the hell was going on? Was she losing it? Was this the moment that she finally lost it? Erin simply froze in place as Xan said she didn't know what was happening, and that it should have been impossible. Well no shit, Erin thought to herself. Her body still not letting herself talk. She just couldn't find the strength to force herself to talk. Her body entirely locking up on itself as she sat there.

Erin didn't know what it was, but something finally shocked her out of her damn dazed stupor as she blinked, seeing the phone on the table going off as it began ringing. Someone was calling Xan's phone. Erin froze once more in place, her heart racing in her chest once more. Something in her gut told her to get up right then and there and leave. Just go. Just get up and run you stupid idiot. Now. The voice in her head echoing, but she was frozen in that damn booth. Like a deer trapped in headlights of a car, Erin couldn't move. It was only when another voice finally broke Erin out of her panicked state. She didn't know why or how, but it happened. Erin tore herself out of the booth and into the middle aisle of the diner. Standing across from the woman, who Erin hadn't looked at yet. Erin finally and slowly looked the woman over, from her feet and then finally landing on the woman's face. Everything stopped in time for Erin, as her green eyes landed on the woman's dark brown eyes. She didn't know why. But she could feel that same damn feeling in her chest. "Nixie...?" Erin finally broke her long and overdue silence. She didn't know why, but somehow, she was able to make that connection then and there. But she did. And it was in that moment that something clicked. The fog that clouded her mind for so long since waking up, there was a small burst of clarity for Erin.

A sharp, deep pain hit Erin in the side of her head as visions suddenly rushed into her head. It was like a jackhammer entering the side of her head that caused her to fall to the ground, grasping her head in both of her hands as she gasped out as the pain only grew more and more as the seconds passed. Erin held her head tightly in her hands as flashes of faces and people flooded her memory. It was like waves crashing over her. Some things didn't make sense, or were completely random. Locations and people, some with clear faces that she could see, but others remained faceless. Just the faded outline of a form was all that her mind let her see. Unknown to Erin as the visions flooded her mind, things had begun to float in the air around the diner. It started out small enough. A fork or salt shaker rattled on their own, before lifting off a few inches from their placement, before clattering back down onto the table beneath them. As the visions only continued to happen, and the pain continued to dig through her skull, the worse things became. The chairs and tables began to vibrate on their own, slowly and in small bursts, but it was enough to recognize from anyone standing around. Erin just wanted this to end. The feeling of fear flooded her entire body, and finally the visions came to an end, but not before flashes of something flooded in rapid succession. It was like scenes from a movie playing out in head. Erin smelt the scent of rain. Heard the sound of dull, echoing footsteps on wet pavement as a dark and empty road laid out in front of her as she walked down the lonesome road. It was eery and desolate, and she didn't know why she was seeing this, but suddenly there was a bright light, the feeling of a burning pain shot across the entirety of her back, and then she felt her body crashing onto something hard, cold, and wet beneath her body and everything turned black.

Erin's heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest as she was finally shot back to reality. Gasping for breath as tears rolled down her face. Her entire body was shaking as she fumbled for words. All she could feel was fear, confusion, sadness, and anger. All at once it filled her entire being as she tried to find the words. Anything to say. But all Erin could get out was a soft, "I'm so sorry...I...I didn't mean to...I'm sorry." the rambled and fumbled words repeated countless times over and over as she rocked back and forth as she pushed herself up against the wall. Erin didn't know why, but she was petrified to move. If it was true that she died, and she was somehow back...the last vision she had was glimpses of her last moments, and if that was the case, it was horrible. To know she died alone and scared on an empty road as the car didn't even stop. Her hands shook and trembled as she tried to looked around the diner, but she couldn't bring herself to look at anyone. Panic and fear continued to spread throughout her body as the sound of things crashing sounded around her. A plate smashing against the wall mere inches from Erin's face caused another flash of visions to play out in her mind. Memories she wanted to keep deep, deep down in her memory. So far down that she could never find them again. All she wanted was for this to end, but she didn't know how, and she felt like something bad was about to happen as the sensation of a numbing cold began to creep over her body. As if she was being slowly lowered into a frozen lake...

xxxThey say I may be making a mistake
xxxI would've followed all the way, no matter how far
xxxI know when you go down all your darkest roads
xxxI would've followed all the way to the graveyard

The soft chirping of birds, the sound of the engine of a car that occasionally passed by on the busy street, and the sound of the wind softly hitting against the large pine trees that encircled the area were the only sounds that filled the air, in the otherwise entirely silent graveyard. A soft sigh escaped Markus' mouth as he remained crouched down in-front of one of the graves. It was somewhat worn and weathered, due to the constant onslaught of a vicious winds and harsh winters in the small town. Markus lifted his hand to wipe away the thick layer of dirt that had gathered over the front of the grave marking, his eyes seemingly life-less as the name Soren Bowers was now visible again. "I...I'm so sorry..." Markus choked out, the words came out as barely above a whisper. He could feel his eyes begin to burn once more as tears slowly began to creep into his vision. Markus sniffled as he wiped his nose, slowly getting to his feet as his hands shook by his side. "I'll...I'll be back sometime later this week..." he said softly, the words falling from his lips as his eyes glanced back towards the headstone and then to his feet. It didn't matter how many times he came to visit the two graves for his friends, the pain never left. Almost like he could never fully accept the fact that it had been seven years since Soren's accident, and five since-He shook his head of those thoughts. Doing his best to disgard them as best he could. He'd be back later, that was all that mattered.

Markus looked over the small headstone once more, before he began making his way back a few rows to the front of the graveyard, before stopping. Turning his head to look in the direction to his right, resided another grave. Somewhat newer than Soren's, but still somewhat old and weathered. His eyes glanced at the name, quickly averting it just as quickly as his eyes landed on those etched in letters. It was still too soon, still hurt too much to think about. Hell, shortly after the accident, Phoenix left for college, even though Markus couldn't blame her. The town took everything from her. First her girlfriend, and then her sister. It was only fair she left too but, it still didn't change anything that he had lost his last remaining friend from heighschool. But he couldn't hang onto those feelings and thoughts anymore. She was off in New York, making something for herself while he resided in this small little god forsaken town. He couldn't continue to be bitter, it wasn't healthy. He was just hurt, even if he didn't want to focus on it anymore.

He sighed once more, and turned and left the graveyard. He could come back anytime. He just needed to get his mind off things. And today he was in luck as the local Halloween Festival was taking place this week, and if he wanted anything to help cheer him up, this usually did the trick. But it was usually with his friends, but...Markus needed to grow up and accept what had happened and move on. Shaking his head to himself as he walked down the old worn pathway back to town.

Markus arrived in the market-place a few short minutes later, and the town-square was already buzzing with life. The pumpkin patch was busy as ever, with locals and visitors busily carving them for the small little competion they held every year. Leo and his parents must have been here somewhere, Markus thought to himself. They'd never miss out on this. A faint smile crept across his face for but a moment, as he could have sworn he saw the quickest flash of blonde main of hair flitter by in the corner of his eye. Markus took a double-take, as it would have been impossible. But by the time he looked off in the direction he thought he saw her, the person was gone. Markus blinked, his mind was playing tricks on him. That was all. As Markus looked back around, he could have sworn that a familiar face caught his eye among the pumpkin patch. The brown wavy hair, darker skin and eyes. It had been a few years but, there was no mistaking it. It was Phoenix. A small smile appeared on his lips, seeing her once again after all this time. But a somber feeling hit his chest, it couldn't have been easy for her to be here. For whatever reason-Oh. He blinked again as he saw a red-haired woman talking with her. Slowly he nodded as another smile appeared on his face. He was happy she was doing well for herself. She deserved it after all she'd been through.

Markus began to turn and walk away in the opposite direction of the two women, he wasn't ready to talk to her just yet and found himself practically walking into someone. "Oh shit, I am so fucking sorry. I didn't mean to-" Markus stopped as his eyes found themselves bounding over the person that stood before him. A flashy and shiny jacket, dark blue dyed hair. Maybe it was just an coincidence, but the moment the two locked eyes, Markus froze.

It wasn't possible, was it? It had been seven years. But those eyes and his face. However aged it may have been. But it couldn't be, right? Markus had been to the hospital. He went to the funeral for god's sake. This couldn't, there was no logical or realistic reason for it to be him, right? Markus found himself with mouth ajar as he tried to say something, anything at all other than staring at this man who simply could have just looked like him, right? After what felt like forever, which in reality was no more than a minute or two, Markus shook his head. Snapping himself out of his dazed stupor. "I am so sorry. I just...I was clumsy and didn't watch where I was going...And...I accidentally spilled your drink." Markus said numbly as he saw the freshly spilled beverage on the ground. "Uhm...How about I...How About I pay for a new one, huh? And whatever else you may want. Only fair, right?" he chuckled awkwardly, outstretching his hand to the man. "I know this is going to sound weird but...You don't happen to be from around here, do you? Sorry if that's a weird question just...I don't know. Sorry." Markus fumbled for something to say, anything to help get rid of the awkwardness he was feeling. "But what do you say...Let me buy you another drink?"

Erin didn't know how much longer she had been sitting at the counter of the small diner, but she figured she'd been there long enough. She handed the old man a wad of Cash she retrieved from her wallet, giving him a rather generous tip as well, and got to her feet. All of which must have been a bit too sparatic, as she got to her feet she had accidentally knocked herself into the woman who sat behind her. Coffee spilling everywhere on the counter. "Oh my fucking god, I am so...so sorry. I was careless and wasn't paying attention. I am so sorry." Erin blurted out, as she grabbed for napkins. "It's alright, sweetheart. Just be a bit more careful next time." the old woman said with a smile, patting Erin on the arm. Erin gave the woman a kind smile in return, looking back at Harold. "Hey uh, Harold? Add another coffee onto my tab for her, huh?" she asked with an arched eyebrow, "Least I can do for her." Harold gave Erin a small nod, "I'll make it on the house, don't worry about it, sweetheart." he gave her a small smile.

She didn't know why, but amongst the commotion, Erin could have sworn she heard someone say her name. She blinked in confusion, before finally turning to look in the direction that she at least thought she heard the voice come from. Which was by the entry point of the small diner. Her face remained remotely expressionless as she looked at the other woman, if anything, it was more confusion that overtook her face than anything. She didn't know this woman, at least, Erin didn't think she did. But, somehow she did? Did she? Did Erin know her? She wasn't sure. But there was a small bit of anxiety slowly creeping its way into her stomach the longer she looked at the woman. Something felt off but, Erin couldn't tell what was causing that sense of unease. "I'm sorry, but do I-" she started, and just before she could finish her question, the woman disapeared. Just like that. Erin stood in the middle of the walkway with a look of concern, confusion, and pure worry on her face. Was she losing her mind? Erin looked around the establishment to see if anyone else had witnessed it, but from what she could guess, no one else did. Just her. Great. She thought to herself. Now she was seeing things, ontop of not knowing anything about herself still.

That was until the woman appeared right next to her, in a seat that Erin could have sworn was just empty seconds ago. Was she really losing her mind? Erin shook her head. Looking back at the woman, her green eyes scanned over the woman's face. Trying to decern if she knew who this person was, but she must have. The woman knew who she was, somehow. Erin just had to find out. "Hey uh, Harold...Make it another round for me...But uh..Make it a water. Think I've had too much sugar so far...And uh...Put this lady's order on my tab, would ya? Thanks." the old man nodded. Erin looked back at the woman, eyebrows still furrowed together tightly. Erin didn't know why, but she found herself grabbing Xan by her wrist and pulling her out of the woman's seat at the counter and pushed her and herself into a booth away from most people. Giving them some privacy as they sat across from each other.

A small sigh escaped her lips finally as Erin sat back in the booth for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts before she spoke. She licked her lips for a moment before looking across at the woman, that she still couldn't recall knowing. But if this woman did know her, maybe she could help. "Okay look-" Erin blurted out suddenly, running her hands across her face as she rubbed her eyes, before combing her fingers through her hair as she straightened up her posture. "I know this is going to sound...Really fucking crazy, but...Clearly you know me but..." Erin took a deep breath, "I don't fucking know who you are. At least...I don't think so? I don't know uh...My memory is...Really bad." she pointed to her head for a moment. "I uh...I don't expect you to believe me but...I really don't remember anything, like at all. Uh...Uhm...All I know is my name, which...We both know by now you do. But...I don't know how we know each other. But I'm assuming you do?" she motioned with a small nod.

Erin shifted in her seat once more, before looking back at Xan, "I don't know what I'm doing here...I don't really know...Much of anything to be honest. And it scares me. All I know is that, a few days ago I woke up in a random field outside of town. All I had on me-" Erin started, as she reached into her leather jacket's coat pocket and placed the phone and apartment key on the table infront of her. "-Were these. The phone...and key. I don't know why those are the only things I had on me...I've been too scared to really use the phone and...The key belongs to an apartment that...I don't remember if it's mine or not...I mean..It must be but..I don't know." she muttered, shaking her head once more as she exhaled. She must have looked insane to this woman, none of it made sense to her, so why the fuck would it make sense to this woman?

"Look, if we did somehow know each other..I can't remember anything. I don't even know my own last name or...If I'm even from here. All I know is that my name is Erin, for whatever reason I had to come here...and I know someone else's name which...I can only assume is some nickname. But even then, I don't know why or how I remember it...But apparently it was important enough for it to be one of the few things I do remember, and it scares me." Erin looked down and away, a small pit of fear was only growing more and more by the second every time she talked. But she had to get it out, to hopefully not sound or look as insane as she felt. Erin felt so hopeless and scared. All she wanted was someone to be able to help her. At least in some way of means of information. That's all that could make the difference. She shook her head, pausing for a moment. "Look uh...I'm sorry. I probably sound and look insane to you, and...I couldn't blame you for thinking that I must have lost it but...I really don't remember anything..So...If you do know me, somehow...Well, anything you could try reminding me of would be a lot of help. Even if it's not much. At this point, even knowing my last name would help ease me some.." She nodded, more so to herself than anything else. Rubbing her hands across her face once more, Erin sighed. "You uh...Don't manage to someone know someone with the name Nixie...Do you by any chance? That uh...That's the only other thing I remember...And I don't know why. It's okay if you don't know, just thought I'd ask. Seeing how you seem to know more than me..."

Chapter Two
Days had passed, the tavern keeper had Scarlet on a bed in a rather moderately sized room, and had treated her wounds daily which was something he was trained to do quite well given the amount of bar fights he dealt with. He had come in to check on her that day. "Still sleeping, huh?" He shook his head “You challenged the Sea Witch, I've never met a captain so bold, or perhaps foolish to try and take her on." He spoke to himself as he thought back on the days prior. He had witnessed the fight. Niltah held back massively compare to what she usually did, or so it seemed to him but what the hell was her game? Why was she playing with Scarlet like this. It certainly wasn't the fact that she liked her, right? "Scarlet, are you awake?" He asked, tapping her shoulder gently in an attempt to awaken her. All was black, silent, and...cold? What was this? Hell? Purgatory? Limbo? Whatever else people called it, is this what death was like? Probably, many a times Scarlet had experienced this, but not to this extent. Suddenly her eyes flickered open and she bolted upright, gasping for air. After a few panic breaths she regained her composure and took a few deep breaths, and looked to her side to see the all too familiar inn keeper. "O-oh..." her voice was scratchy and dry, "Sorry...D-didn't scare you, did I..?" she asked genuinely, another thing to note, Scarlet was a kind hearted and genuine soul, which is also why her crew were also favored, they were good people that cared for others, just had a reckless lifestyle. She tried to sit up more, a numbing pain had taken over her body causing her to only lean against the bedframe, "Could...Could I get a drink? Whisky or rum, if you can..." she asked as she kept the silk sheet and navy blue bed cover over herself, as her immune system was still slightly off, as well as being cold and having a sense of decency and privacy. "Aye, it's already on its way up. Give the new lass sometime." He said lightly, sitting down on a stool "So you learned why she is called a Witch, huh? I'm amazed that you are alive, and I'm not saying that as a joke. You went up against a woman of reknown terror. The fact that Pirate Haven is still here...is beyond me. I wonder what she sees in you. Here, she left this for you." He said handing the black spot to Scarlet. "She's a strange one. She's acting different with you, leaving you with only cuts and not just a missing head. But I'll bet she brought back painful memories, didn't she? I've experienced that whisper before, I think the only reason I live is because I was the barkeep and wasn't actually getting involved in the fight!" he laughed at the comment he had made, finding himself a little amusing.

Scarlet nodded at the notion of drinks being on their way, as a good drink always helped numb the pain, or the loneliness. She sat up more as she accepted what the bar keep gave her, raising an eyebrow in utter confusion, putting it aside on the table beside her. "I wouldn't know... Just a thrill seeker with a soul for the sea..." she said softly as she answered the man. She coughed slightly, then spoke up again, "Yes..I had visions of my father dying...even though he was never found, just told that he was lost at sea when I was a child... He raised me with the notion and hope I'd follow in his footsteps of becoming a pirate... Sometimes I wonder if I would have made him proud.." she said as she looked at the small locket that was on the bedside table beside her, it being the last thing her father gave her before his disappearance twelve years ago, only a few days before her twelfth birthday would have happened. She looked back up at him, "" she crossed her arms slightly, and took steady breaths as she tried to not cause stress to herself, just yet. The old inn keeper spoke up again, "I know about as much as you do. Well...maybe a bit more than you but here's something I can tell you that you don't know. Her obsession with ripping throats out and the reason she's so hateful to everyone. When she was younger, the...lower existing pirates as you may know them by, attacked her home port. Many managed to escape and she was captured but...she wouldn't talk to them so as a result they cut her throat out, taking her ability to talk. Ever since then she's been spiteful, she wants nothing but revenge and she's gone to no end to get it, case in point, she has no heart in her body, she is a Jones after all." he said with a somewhat somber tone.

She nodded, taking in all he said. It would make sense, anyone that was scorned for no reason would try to get revenge, and scorning a pirate? As well as a Davy Jones? One would only be selling their soul at that point. "?" she asked as she slowly got to her feet, visible fresh scars as well as old ones that ranged in size, shape, and severity littered her body, slowly dressing herself as she threw on her shirt and pants, not really caring if anyone saw at the moment, as she did live with about twenty or so men after all. "Anyone scorned would get revenge. Need I remind you about my blade?" she gestured to her rapier that was in its sheath by the bed, "After that serpent took down my first ship, I took out its heart. And since then my blade has been dyed that...maroon color?" she said casually as she struggled to put on the other articles of clothing that she had with her. The serpent in question was one that bombarded her first ship, The Valiant after her crew accidentally passed through its domain, taking the ship and half of her crew with it, only for her to have disappeared for a few days, to return with the beast's heart in hand and a red blade dyed from the beasts blood, as serpents tend to hone special properties in their blood, what properties did her's hold, she wasn't sure exactly. But perhaps she could eventually find out, one day.

You needn't lass. I don't forget that easily as you well know. But she's been nothing but bloodshed. I've seen her shot, stabbed, hell! I've seen her lose an arm. She doesn't even bleed the same colors as we do. In fact...she doesn't bleed. Then she shows up, weeks later with her arm just fine? She's cursed. I wonder if there is even human left inside her. I'm sure she can't love, not that she cares I'll bet." He stood up and sighed "She's another being all together. She kills to kill and I doubt that will ever change. But I hate to see the lass so scorned. I feel like she'd be a great person if she had never had that even happen to her. Wouldn't you agree Scarlet?" He stated moving to the door, just before exiting he spoke one last time, "One more thing. Her ship hasn't been spotted since the day she disappeared when she brought you down. That's uncommon for her." he said as he placed his hand on his chin again, in thought. Scarlet nodded all the while, "So I've seen...I will keep my men aware of what she is capable of...Thank you." she said as she finished getting dressed, "And perhaps..." she answered his question, and finished getting all her things, slowly hobbling down the hallway, and down the stairs. She sat down at one of the tables, and waited patiently. Soon a screech sounded, an all too familiar one, she smiled and soon a spider monkey jumped onto the table in pure glee. She gently pat his head, letting him climb up her arm and finally sat on her shoulder, "Good morning, Oscar. Miss me?" she asked her pet with a smile and a small pat. "One final thing, none of your men were harmed, she actually stayed away from them. I'm sure you have questions, so if you wish to track her down, I'd advise doing so with this." The inn keeper handed her a map with a section circled that would be best know as her domain. "I'm back to work now, lass. Best of luck, but be warned, this is a risky run." he said and went behind the bar counter to do his normal duties, leaving Scarlet to her own decisions. She nodded at his confirmation of her men being safe, and accepted the rolled up map, putting it on the table. "Thank you. But you seem to forget, me and my men are risk takers, we like a challenge." she said with a soft chuckle, "But yes, we will heed warnings." she pet the monkey that was on her shoulder, and looked up as a girl of the age of, what, eight teen, walked over to her table with a tray of drinks. "Sorry, but here is your usual, the Bloodcrest Rum? And a pint of ale, on the house." Scarlet smiled at her, "Thank you, love. Here." she gave the girl a flirtatious wink and dropped five golden coins into her hand. The girl nodded shyly as a blush appeared on her face, and quickly walked behind the bar. Scarlet softly chuckled to herself, and slowly drank her order as she overlooked the map.

"Captain! Thank the gods that you're awake!" Scarlet nearly spit out the drink at the sudden shout. "God dammit, Carmen! Of course I'm alright. But what is it now?" The captain demanded an answer as she looked up at the pale, blue eyed, ginger haired boy that was her trusted companion. "The men and I, have been worried sick. We hoped you would awaken soon." the boy said with a smile as he sat down in the chair across from her. "It takes more than that to keep me down. Now, when we're ready we will be departing here." she pointed at the spot on the map, and sipped her drink. After a few minutes of conversation, Scarlet stood up, Carmen quickly following suit and they left the tavern, "Again, sorry for all the trouble. And thank you." she said as she placed down a bag of coins on the bar counter, "Use this to help repay for any costs that I was responsible for, and for anything else you may need." she gave a wave of her hand and left. As they made their way to the docks, "The Captain! She is awake, boys!" one of her men shouted from the ship, causing her to chuckle and shake her head, "You truly would be lost without me, wouldn't you, boys?" she said with a smile as she boarded the ship. "You're our Captain, of course we worry." another said. "Your loyalty is to a fault, and I swear it's going to get you killed one day." Scarlet said, and another piped up, "Like a dog doesn't recognize its own tail?" Scarlet looked at him, then back at her men, "Know how many bitches attack their own tail?" she said with a deadpan tone, then a smile crept across her face and soon everyone broke into a joyous laughter. "Well men, to new places we shall set our eyes on. Prepare for the sea, for she calls to us." Scarlet said as she stood on the front of the ship, looking out on the water, the sun still high in the sky, and a smile on her face.

The wind blew through the cabin of the Queen's Meridian. Stepping out on the deck, Niltah was as pale as a ghost she dropped to her knees, tears running down her face, the voice echoing in the fog, coming out as a scream of pure pain and agony, "I'm so alone! No matter how hard I've tried...no matter how much I'm always nothing more than a killer...I'm no pirate. I'm a wretch who can't even die!" The voice echoed across the sea, carrying on the wind. "No...I must uphold who I am. I am Davy Jones, the most feared pirate of the sea, my name shall never be forgotten...it's all I shall ever be known for, my bounty growing larger every day. None will accept me, ever." her tone was a mix of cold as ice, and riddled with pain and sadness. A very large typhoon of emotions that would bubble up and over any day now, if you wish. As it seemed to go on for hours, as the sun did begin to slowly set, one of Scarlet's men walked up to her, "Don't mean to be rude, but are you sure we are going in the right dir-" he was cut off as Scarlet pointed ahead of them, a dark and looming fog covered the upcoming water. "What do you think?" she gave him a now serious look. "Men, look alive. If things go south, it has been an honor being your Captain, and I wouldn't ask for a better crew. But we are the Omen! And we never back down from a challenge, now do we?" her men gave a cheer, and went to arm themselves with armor and weapons. As their ship slowly grew closer, the surrounding temperature began to drop, even to the point of Scarlet being able to see her own breath, she adjusted her coat so she could be warmer, and held Oscar close, "You with me, Osc?" she looked at the monkey on her arm, he nodded and gave a fearsome growl, "Good...At least that makes one of us.." she said to herself softly as she looked on at the ever growing darkness that slowly engulf the area.

"If I am destined to be alone...why do you hunt me like a dog? Why do you keep coming back...I just want you gone...I want to be alone!" The voice in the fog screamed, that alone was enough to rock the ship as the Queen's Meridian emerged from the mist. This time however, it was pointed straight at the opposing ship with Niltah at the stern. "Even at sea....I can't be alone...so I'll make the most of dying it red! Come! Let your bodies float upon the water...let hell drag you into the deep..." At the stern of the Queen’s Meridian, she stepped forward but her blades were not drawn. Her face was down and her eyes were even more sad than the first time. She wasn't even caring. She had gone cold and the fog seemed to freeze once she showed herself as she exited her cabin. "I'll carve your ship in two..." She signed to Scarlet, "Or...leave...please..." her voice spoke out as a whisper to only who it was desired to be spoken to.

All of The Omen crew covered their ears, as all they heard was a deafening scream, but for Scarlet? She heard it. She heard what was screamed. She felt the emotion. The anger. The loneliness. The...sadness? Yes, Scarlet nodded to herself, moving slowly to the center of her ship. She spoke above a whisper, but knew she could hear her, "I would just like to talk...If you wanted us, me dead...You would have done it by now. If you were a killer you would have had us eaten alive, drown, or cut in two. But no. What killer would?" her men looked on in confusion, some aiming their crossbows at the opposing ship, she looked at them, "No. Not unless I say, or may the gods have mercy on us." her voice was cold and demanding. She looked back at the other ship, awaiting a response, one of attack, or possibly an acceptance of her offer. "There is no talking...all will tell you that you can not reason with a Witch. So listen and open fire...this is your only chance. Or run...I'll not say it again." the voice seemed to come cold and calm. In the distance she could be seen slamming her boot against the stern as the ship took to full speed ahead. One with an expert eye would notice the the front of the ship was sharp like a blade. "Besides...why talk to me. I attacked you. Come and exact your revenge...put me out of my misery...my torment. Or be valiant and die trying." The voice sounded. Her ship was still a distance off. Scarlet sighed, and examined the oncoming ship, her men anxiously awaiting orders. After a moment, "Turn the ship around!! But don't move!" She demanded as she headed towards the back of the ship, her men looked at her in confusion, "Do as I say! Do you trust me?" her men all nodded, "Then get to work and turn this ship around, you bastards!" with no more instructions they immediately did as ordered and began to make their ship turn back around. Scarlet looked at the opposing ship as it drew closer, "Come on..." her right leg shook with anxiety, not of fear but as she was trying to limber herself up as for what was about to happen.

"Run...go...flee. Don't stay. There is no trusting one who's painted streets in red, one who's sent many to a grave, one who makes the rain of the sea red with the sheer blood they have spilled...just...go. if you stay, you die..." She said as that whisper from before started to bounce around the fog, she drew both of her Cutlasses but did not leave her ship in a black mist like before. The next words resounded sadness "I don't...want to kill you. But I will...go! Get away from me!" The voice screamed. As the ship drew closer, Scarlet closed her eyes, remaining as calm as she could. As it got as close as she needed it to, she got a running start and leapt off the boat as hard as she could, pushing herself off, as she fell she managed to grab onto part of the boat, "So it is..." she said with a whisper and began the long climb upwards. As she got to the side, she paused, took in a deep breath and continued the climb until she grabbed onto the edge of the boat, pulling herself up and rolled onto the boat, and jumped to her feet. She looked at the white haired woman who was at least five or so feet away from her, "Then do so. Drive your weapon through my heart. Cut off my head with one fell swoop. I will not stop you. But leave my men out of this." she said as she slowly approached, keeping her guard up all the while. Tears fell from her eyes as she looked at Scarlet, "I....didn't want to...but now you are aboard my ship...feed the sealife..." She growled as she disappeared. The moment she did reappeared, a Cutlass was driven through Scarlet's back, exiting from her stomach. She was so close. The true pain and sorrow was in her eyes. It emanated off her like an aura. She was truly a shattered, broken being who knew nothing but bloodshed and there was a distinct scar on her throat, just as had been told. When the voice came it was broken but her lips didn't move "I'm...sorry." she said and kicked Scarlet in the back, off the ship and into the water, the sword being violently pulled out as she fell into the waters below. Scarlet's eyebrow quirked as Niltah disappeared as she walked to the edge of the ship, looking around in confusion, but before she could even blink, a piercing hot pain of a thousand lightning bolts jolted through her back, as the sword was driven through her. She gasped aloud, as blood spattered from her mouth, coughing up some as she tried to speak. Her ability to breathe began to slow, and all she could do was try to stop the bleeding, to obviously no avail as the weapon was removed, and she was violently kicked off the boat, her vision beginning to blur. Her men began to fire ballistas, cannons, and arrows at the ship, Carmen dove into the frigid waters below to retrieve their captain. As per request of the captain, The Queen's Meridian did not attack the ship or the remaining crew, "Goodbye..." The voice sounded as the ghost ship dove under water and disappeared, the last seeable thing was her standing in the stern before the ship was nowhere to be seen once more.

As Carmen dove into the water, the men had the ship turn around and head straight towards the two in the water, sending a rowboat down for Carmen to bring Scarlet up with ease. Carmen had to dive down as her body began to sank into the darkness below. He grabbed her by scooping his arms under hers, and pulled her up, with obvious struggle, he placed her body in the boat and the others quickly pulled the boat back up. They rushed Scarlet to her cabin, wrapping her wound as best as they could, keeping constant pressure on it and keeping her warm in her bed, and had the boat go back as fast it it could to the nearest land mass, being the northern coast of a rocky range, known to be a place of healers and merchants. Aboard her ship Niltah tried her best to scream as she thought to herself Why!? Why wouldn't she leave!? I didn't...didn't want to hurt her...I'm so pathetic...no wonder everyone wants me dead. I can't even control my urge to kill...I hope she lives so that one day her blade can end my life..., she thought as she fell to the deck floor and just cried for hours. The weather over head turning to rain as though reflecting her pain and sadness.

Back on land a small group of people had amassed around the ship known as The Omen, assisting Scarlet as best they could, she would live and that was the best they could manage for her. "Who...did this to her? This wound is ghastly." an elder man stated, a sage of sorts. As she was laying on a makeshift carrier, Scarlet waded in and out of consciousness as the wound had caused massive damage to several organs and tissues surrounding the entry and exit wound. Carmen, who was of the youngest of the crew was by her side all the while, his face stained with tears, "Th-The Witch... S-Sea Witch.. Scarlet tried reasoning with her..and she tried to kill our captain." he said through sobs. "We will have our revenge. No one attacks, let alone tries to kill our Captain." said James, a much taller, stronger and older man in the crew, as he stepped forward from the others. The old man shook his head. “You are foolish. Your captain does not want that. The fact that you are all alive after such an attempt means she showed you some semblance of Mercy. Do you truly wish to see her at her worst? I have...she's sent the kraken to swallow a whole Port City once. I think there's something you all are missing, whether it's merely flying over your heads or your captain has figured it out I do not know. But...I thinks she's seen something in your captain. Perhaps take that knowledge and use it." he stated and knelt down next to Scarlet, “You are a brave yet foolish woman. But you may as well give up. You'll find nothing but misery from challenging her. She's spared you three times now, news travels very fast. I doubt she will make for a fourth. There is something to learn." Scarlet was still in a daze, not fully there mentally still as she was incredibly weak. Her voice was weak and fragile, but had a sense of determination in it, "N-no...I will not...give up... I need to...to see her...again.." her voice faded as she slipped back into unconsciousness, having kept herself awake for as long as she could. "Do not, child. You face an unimaginable foe. But...you'll not listen." He looked up at the crew, "It makes me wonder what she saw. None have ever been so close to the Sea Witch and lived. What did you see child...what did you see..?" he said looking back to her, "Bring her to the Village Gentleman, we will get her patched up better then we can here."

Two of the men nodded, and gently picked up the makeshift bed that was made for her in haste, and placed it on a cart, and the crew left for the town that was directed to them. As they entered the village not five minutes later, they managed to come across a small house, as it was marked as the town's local 'Herbalist and Doctor' they called for the man, hoping he would be able to help with her wounds. The doctor came out and did so right then and there "The Sea Witch's bite, eh? I've seen this precise injury. You’re lucky you survived it, lass!" A lady said kindly as she did her work. "I take it this was “Her" doing, right? She's shown her face around here before. We are known for a large library of maps and knowledge, I'll bet she enjoys reading. It's sad, while she was here she was such a sweet woman...but I don't know why she's snapped so hard." The woman explained to the crew kindly as she finished with Scarlet, "There ya go! Now you just need to keep her rested, fellas." They nodded, and gently carried her to the local inn and got her a room, while they all stayed back on the ship at the dock. They visited her everyday for the next two weeks while she was in a comatose like state. Until it was the 16th day.

Chapter Three

The sun had began to rise, the town's people had been starting their daily lives, and in the upper room in the inn lay Scarlet, still asleep. Her eyelids flashed back and forth, as her mind replayed the memory of the most recent events. Where she did things differently, in one she didn't go peacefully, she attacked the ship, which caused the kraken to swallow her crew whole. Second, she went about it the same way, but this time she impaled her weapon through the The Witch's chest, and the third, well, Scarlet's mind was blurry and kept fading in and out. As the room's door was slowly opened, the maid stepping in to check on her, Scarlet's amber eyes flashed open weakly, coughing a bit harsh at the sudden urge to speak, as she hadn't used her vocal cords, they were weak, and she required a drink, or two...dozen. The maid took note of the cough and smiled, “Oh hello, Miss. Can I get you anything? Perhaps something to drink? I must inform you though I can not serve you alcohol of any kind, doctor's orders." she said softly and bowed as she approached the bed. "I'm sorry you had to face my sister. The time may come for you to be the one to kill her. I think she's chosen you after all." The maid said with a slightly dark look on her face as she waited to see if Scarlet could respond. The very mention of no alcohol caused a growl to emit from her dry throat, it sounded like sandpaper on a chalkboard. She struggled at first, but managed to prop herself up, slowly beginning to get out of that damn bed, and no one would hold her back, "No...no alcohol....m-my ass.." she said as she began to stand up, albeit weakly. A black mist flowed forth from the black mark and held her down. The maid’s eyes widened as she backed away. "S...she's here!" She said running quickly out of the room as the female figure appeared but with no blades this time. She signed her words to Scarlet. "Stop...just...stop dammit. I'm here on business and you'll tell me what I want to know before killing me...why? Why are you so intent on talking to me? On getting through to me? I've been following you with that Mark and nothing you desire makes any damn sense! So tell me...what do you see that I know isn't there." The last thing Scarlet had expected was to be pulled backwards, and by what?

As she looked, she saw a form slowly appearing, an all too familiar one by now. As she tried to speak, she coughed again, some blood appearing on her lip, she spit it out on the floor and looked back on the other side of the room, across the bed, and tried her best to speak, "I...I was once like you...Alone...Angry.." she paused, and looked at the locket that had some of her blood on it, "The sea...It took my father from me...The man that raised me to be who I am.. Maybe I'm too foolish, or reckless...Maybe both.." she chuckled softly, but groaned as the very action caused some pain in the slowly healing wound. She looked back at the woman, and smiled slightly, "You...You remind me of why I became a pirate.. For the chase...the adventure.. Maybe it's the thoughts of a lonely girl...But...I see something in you.." her voice slowly growing raw the longer she spoke, wishing she had something to help with her voice. Niltah shook her head and signed, “You are stupid. There is nothing in me but hate, misery and vengeance. Every single violent being will be killed and when I am the last one left standing...I will Pierce my own heart with my blade. Because only I know where it rests." She signed angrily, "Stop trying dammit! Don't get yourself a bad reputation...I'll not warn you again. I want to be left alone, woman. I want to be as lonely as possible so that those feelings may wash over my desire for destruction. Then no one will have to fear me again. I'll be nothing more than a lonely, empty husk." She finally finished signing as she placed a hand on Scarlet's stomach, healing the injury, leaving nothing but the encrusted blood on the old bandages and one ghastly scar. "There...now leave me alone...forever." she signed. Scarlet gently grabbed her arm, and looked up at the white haired woman, "And I will keep on going after you until the very day that I die. I will not stop... Or..." she reached over and put her knife in her hand, aiming it at her heart, “Or you could just kill me now. Make the chase stop..Because I will not stop until the day that this heart stops." she looked into her eyes, determination and stubbornness shown through, nothing else. "Then you'll never find me again...goodbye, Lady Captain. Sorry I couldn't...bend to your will. But I'm a pathetic killer. It's all I know and all I do. How about...you find my heart and kill me instead...you'll be a hero, you'll make the world safe again, you'll be famous and renowned through the continent...and you'll end my pain, my sorrow, my suffering. You'll make me happier that way. You just have to find the heart." she signed, hung her head and disappeared in a black mist. Scarlet sighed as she saw her disappear into a cloud of mist, leaving her alone. "For now, Niltah..." she said to herself, as she found renewed strength, she pulled herself out of bed, and changed into her clothes, which had been fixed and cleaned off of the encrusted blood. Before she left the room, she took the mark that was given to her, placing it on the armor piece of her right shoulder, tucked in-between the leather armor. She left the inn, and tried to find the local library, or what they referred to as one. She entered the small building, and stepped inside, the room was lit by natural light, as well as candle light where the sunlight couldn't show. She looked around for a bit on her own, then decided she would need help for what books she was in particular need of. A lady came over and smiled, "Is there something I can help you find Miss?" She asked politely. She wasn't all that tall and clearly elderly but she seemed sweet, polite and her smile said as such. Scarlet look at the woman and smiled, "O-oh...uhm, yes. Do..do you have any books that would have any form of knowledge on sea magic? Or things of that nature?" she asked kindly as she walked along with the old woman at a pace suitable for her.

The lady nodded, "We have a few. It's one of the hardest kind of book to come by because the only one who truly knows the magic of the sea is the sea witch herself. All the books we have on that knowledge were written by her as it is." She said as she led scarlet into the back "She's...grown bitter over time. Horribly so. Everything weighs on her. All the hate, all the anger and rage, the despair and sadness. It's all gotten to her and has turned her painfully bitter. She had just become Davy Jones when she wrote these, she was still...somewhat there. She was respectable. The poor dear...it hurts to see her this way." The lady said pulling out three very beautiful, leather bound books with gold trimming and handing them over. "Here ya go!" She took them greatfully, "Thank you, so much. These will do." she smiled, and gently slipped a small bag of coins into the lady's hand, and covered the bag with the lady's other hand, "No refusal." she said with a light chuckle and left the library, returning back to the inn. She sat down on the bed, and began her long study of all the books, and what they contained. She needed to know all she could, and what would be better than the very own books written by the person in question? The books were long but not complex. They were written in such a simplicity that it would make anyone able to understand the magic and how strong it truly was but the final pages of the book were written in blood, her blood as one could tell and it was a form of warning.

"You've made it to the end... congratulations, one could say you are an expert but be warned. This magic does not come without a deep, painful price. One must lose their heart to use it, one must be called, Davy Jones. As you become stronger with the magic, you will sink into madness, you will hurt more, you will experience nothing better then pain, sorrow and misery. Never...never make the mistake of accepting the offer. I have. Even now as I write this, I sink into an ever falling madness, a choice I made for the revenge I seek. By the time I'm done today, I pray that someone out there will find this book and seek out my heart to remove my curse and set me free. Death is still to good for me with all my sins but it is my only option. Remember however, do not accept the offering of becoming Davy Jones, no matter how tempting it seems." And with that the book ended in a golden sealed crest with her signature in the middle, "Niltah of The Queens Meridian, back to sea..." Scarlet studied and read every word best to her ability, as she finished the last book, she reclined back in her chair, pinching the arch of her nose, as she had a headache after such a long time of looking at books. She looked to the window, seeing as the sun had long been down, "Shit...It's already night?" she said to herself. "But...Where is the heart..?" she said to herself, she looked at the map she was given, and wondered, "What if I were to..." she whispered as she took all five maps she was given, and arranged them in a certain pattern, having them be in the order of the world's surface, and looked at the map she was given of her domain. "Where are you..." she whispered, then had the sudden realization. She gathered her things, strapping her sword at her side, and heading to the port, to her ship to gather the rest of her things before she would head out.

She arrived at the docks, her men gathered around, "You're awake! It's good to see you Cap-" she cut them off, "Don't have time for that now." she boarded the ship and entered her cabin, she grabbed her custom crossbow, her compass, and a special knife her father gave her. She quickly returned from her cabin, and left the ship, going down to the docks, putting her things in a rowboat. "Captain Scarlet, why don't we take The Omen? Would be more officiant and-" Carmen began to speak, "No. No we. I'm going alone." she demanded. Her men looked confused, "[b]Where are you going?" they looked at her, "Her. I'm going to find her. This time, alone. Do not follow, or may the gods have mercy on you men." she loaded up the boat with what she would need. "But Captain-" she shot them a glare, "Exactly. I am your Captain, you take my orders, and stay here." she gave them a salute, and set off into unknown waters, a girl alone in a rowboat with some supplies, maps, and a compass. As a few hours passed, she looked at the map using a lantern she had taken with her, "Should be somewhere around here..." she mumbled, before hitting something with the boat. "Speaking of the devil..." she cast anchor, and slowly exited the ship, her boots making soft thuds as she stepped onto the coarse shore made of broken bones and whatever else made up the base of the mysterious cove. She took the lantern, map, her crossbow and weapons, and she slowly entered the cove, searching for the Heart Of The Sea, or Davy Jones' heart. "So...you figured out where it's hidden? Or so you think." That voice echoed. For a moment the black mist shined and then she appeared, walking next to the captain, not attacking. "I'm sorry...but you are wrong. My heart is...well it's somewhere but not here. The reason this is called Davy Jones heart is because the cavern mimics the exact inside of a heart. My heart exactly. Black and cold. But maybe that's a clue." The voice said as she kept her head low and walked with Scarlet. "Logically, you could also take my head off, that's how I killed the last Davy Jones. Yes, you heard that right, I killed The last one." The voice came again. Her voice was quiet, serene and...peaceful? This was the only place in the world she would possibly ever act like this. "So why not travel home now...knowing that this place is a waste of your time...Captain Scarlet?" Scarlet almost jumped out of her skin as she suddenly appeared out of nowhere, but kept her composure. She cleared her throat and spoke, "I'm not giving up. Even if I have to until my last dying breath." her hands were casually clasped behind her back as she walked with Niltah. "Or...You could kill me where I stand, Niltah." she said as she looked at the woman that walked by her side.

"Also, I find your head too pretty to sever from your body." she said with a wink, as they came to a hill, she offered her hand for help. "No...no don't make the offer. I don't want the bloodthirsty bitch inside me to be awake while I'm here in the comforting darkness..." The voice came softly. Niltah was going to just jump to the top and had her legs flexed to do so when she saw the hand. She reached up and took it. Her hands were small yet...soft for someone who had taken so many lives. Once at the top she snatched her hand away and shoved it back in her pocket. "This is where I go to hide...no one ventures here. It's the only place I can control my madness. The smell of my blood is on you, you've read the three books, I'm sure of it." The voice said softly as she walked with Scarlet. "It's the cause of my desire to die. I feel that if I could die, I could escape all the suffering I've caused. Sooner or later someone will get me anyway. Why not let it be you...?" as Scarlet gently pulled her up, surprised how dainty her hands were in Scarlet's. Slowly she strolled further in, walking somewhat aimlessly. "You act as though you are the only one who has ever killed... I'm no better..." her voice softened as she managed to see her reflection in some black glass along the cave's wall, "My beginning's were not as humble as I say...I didn't start out as just as I am... These hands have killed many..." her fists clenched at the memories, and in one swift motion she acted out in immense anger and punched the wall, shattering the glass under her fist into thousands of pieces. The cave and the emotions it had slowly started having their affects on Scarlet, her normal eyes flashed a translucent green, then reverted back to their normal amber color. She blinked, and grasped her wrist at the sudden pain, "Bloody hell..!" she exclaimed as a sudden pain erupted through her arm, glass shards were in her skin. She covered her hand in a cloth, that soon was soaked a dark red, matching her cloak's color. She felt something call to her, and she ventured further into the cove.

"Stop..." Her voice echoed as she stepped in front of Scarlet. "Do not go further in. Only I may pass through the halls of dark glass...you will be possessed if you keep going...don't..." She placed a hand on Scarlet's cheek and pulled her down, as if bringing her back to her senses she placed a kiss to her lips, "Please...listen to me." She said, healing the wound on the hand and looking her in the eyes. "You've not killed like I have, you've not sold your soul to the eternal depths...please...turn around, captain Scarlet. I beg you. Do not listen to the voice of poison from further in...I do not want you to suffer its grasp...please!" She said as the tears started falling again. She didn't want anyone to suffer like she had. Her mind was foggy and cloudy, guiding her further in against her better judgement, that was until she felt an all too familiar sensation, snapping her back into reality. Her face flushed a bright red as she realized what had happened. The one they claimed to be heartless...kissed her? She blinked, then blinked again. She looked at the woman before her in confusion, her words fading in and out of her mind, without saying a word, and most likely against her better judgement, she gently placed her hand on Niltah's cheek, and softly returned the kiss. For her to only realize and step back, "I...I'm sorry. I...I don't..." she walked away, face flushed red, muttering to herself,"Idiot. Idiot. Absolute idiot." she muttered to herself repeatedly as she continued to walk deeper in. "I don't care. Just turn around and leave...please!" The voice begged, "Don't wind up like me..." The voice came sharper then the glass as she started pushing Scarlet away from the sounds until they could no longer be heard.

She looked down, her grey eyes were only clouded further. "Leave...I don't want you to get hurt..." The voice stated lightly but seriously as she hung her head, looking away and down. Scarlet stopped as she was pushed back, looking at the woman standing before her. "Why?" she began, "If you really were heartless, why would you care so much? If you were a killer, you would have killed me the first time at sea!" she said as she got closer to her, "If you were as heartless as they say, you would have killed me and my men many a time. You could have gone against my request and killed them all, having me die at sea. But you didn't. What stopped you? The loneliness? Not knowing how you feel? Or..." she gently caressed Niltah's cheek again, and looked into her eyes, then turned away. "Nevermind..." she brushed past her and stopped in her tracks, what was that? The...the sudden voice... It wasn't..Was it? She looked on into the darkness ahead, the darkness that terrified her to the bone. "The pain...the sorrow...I didn't want you to feel it. No one deserves it. It's...it's not like you attacked me. You are just trying to get through to me...you've stay her long enough. The harbingers are coming for you. If they get you...you'll be mine to control and bend as I desire. I don't want anyone to become that for me." She said sharply. Without another word she grabbed Scarlet's shoulder and they were back at the entrance. She pushed Scarlet out and hung her head, "Don't ever come back..." With that stones in the shape of teeth slammed shut, keeping them now separate. The only entrance now sealed. Screams from inside the cave, then...silence. but one thing was sure, Niltah had just completely saved Scarlet's life.

She sighed, seeing the cove get sealed up, locking her out. She stood there, just blankly looking at the now blank stone wall. She sighed again as she slowly slid down against the smooth stone, sitting with her back against it, looking around the small cove outlet. She had nothing, but refused to leave, and stayed put. As the night went on, the weather started to become cold, freezing almost. She adjusted her cloak, keeping herself as warm as she could, and slowly drifted off to sleep, into the abyss that was her dreams, or more often than not, nightmares. As the night drew on Niltah had appeared from nowhere and shook her head, "You are so stubborn..." she signed to herself and sat down, snuggling up to Scarlet. She closed her eyes, not to sleep but to bring about silence of the mind as she sat there to keep Scarlet warm. Whatever the hell had gotten into her she wanted out. The feelings like this were meaningless without a heart to feel them with but they were happening. She didn't know what to do. Maybe it was the fact that this woman was trying to kill her? As Scarlet slept, her mind was plagued with her usual nightmares, this time it was about her father dying. She had a first person perspective, and was useless to anything. As the dreams always got to the part of her grabbing a hold of her father, it ended. Her eyes opened, and her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest. She remained silent and unmoving, as she scanned the area with her eyes, she realized she could still see her breath, but...she felt..warm? She then noticed that someone was with her, in her still sleepy state, she didn't question it, but only held tighter to whoever the body was, and fell back into the dream world. Or perhaps she was in a state of hystaria and no one was really there, to her, she didn't care, sleep was more important at that moment. "Mmm..." The person mumbled a bit. "I'm sorry, Mother...I didn't mean to become what I am...I'm sorry sister...everyone..." A voice echoed silently as Niltah had fallen asleep. A rare occurrence for her as she grabbed onto Scarlet and held her close, shaking. Not from cold but from the range of crushing emotion that slammed into her so very hard. She couldn't handle it and in some way it hurt badly. She wanted it to stop, to go away. She couldn't take it.
