You forgot one, yogi: a human with certain characteristics (protectiveness, some special ability like exceptional empathy, someone who has hard-drawn lines of good/evil*but knows where the gray areas are and accepts they exist, even if they dislike them*) may be offered the chance to become a Guardi...
