Lower levels... three days... That's what the dare had been... Her so-called friends always had stupid dares, but why did she always pick the dares when truth would keep her out of harm's way. Stupid games... stupidity at its finest... Then again no one had actually thought she would truly accept such stupidity as doing this dare. Her life was boring enough as it was, living in the wealthy sector, being doted on by the wealthy sons, followed by the daughters of tycoons, annoyed by all. Her life was nothing but parties and lies. The dare would bring her something to talk about besides how boring everything was. Just because one has wealth, doesn't mean life was fun.
The wind blew her shoulder length black hair over her face and she used a slender ringed finger to uncover her face. Icy blue eyes glanced about as she walked, she had no idea where she was or how long she had been walking anymore, granted she didn't care either. She just had to last two more days and then she'd go home. Shoving her hands back into her jacket pockets, she sighed to herself and watched a car fly by, making her hair fly back in her face once again.
Muketsu watched the car round a corner and then come to a halt. Brushing her hair out of her face again, she let out a scoff and zipped up her jacket, murmuring to herself. She could hear faint voices as she neared the corner of the street, kicking a can out of her way. Curiosity and boredom pulled her toward the voices.
Chaos erupted at the sound of gunfire, causing Muketsu to flinch and duck for cover. She watched as people ran by her and gasped when one ran into her, knocking her to the ground. Muketsu felt a sharp pain and she licked her bottom lip, tasting the salty sweetness of blood blossom. Her gaze watched the fleeing people for a moment before she looked towards where the gunfire sounded from. Part of her screamed to follow the fleeing crowds, but the other part suggested to follow the danger.
Pushing herself to her feet, Muketsu brushed off the dirt from her hands and wiped at her mouth with the back of her hand. Not sure why, she moved toward the sounds of gunfire and found herself near one of the windows within a few minutes. Her heart was pounding as she pushed her back against the wall and she slid down to a crouching position, her hand moving toward the dagger at her side. One should never bring a knife to a gunfight... she thought to herself with a soft chuckle.
She had no idea what she was doing or why her feet continued to carry her towards this particular danger. Her gaze went to the window that had been shattered by the spray and she studied it for a moment before moving closer to it. Slowly inching closer to the window, her grip on the hilt of her dagger tightened, she was ready to pounce on whomever stuck their head out of the window. Her heart pounded as she tried to calm herself.
Once she reached the window, Muketsu froze and listened to the sounds coming from inside. Her eyes narrowing slightly as she tried to find any noise of movement under the sounds of the techno music coming from somewhere and the gunfire inside, but she couldn't hear anything over the beat of her heart pounding.
