Imp: These vicious creatures often operate in groups (known as wakes) from several to several dozen. Imps are small, bone-white with black eyes and small, sharp black spines protruding from their skulls. Spawned from the void of the Kingdom of Darkness in uncounted numbers, these creatures are stupid and cowardly, although in great numbers can wreak havoc especially against unsuspecting civilian populations.
Daemon: Related to imps but in a more distilled, powerful form, daemons are often taller and more heavily muscled than humans, and the imps' spiny protrusions develop into two full horns that are etched and died black with symbols of unknown meaning or purpose, but are speculated to be related to the daemon's clan or position. Most wakes of imps have at least one daemon in command, exhorting the otherwise stupid and fearful lesser minions into cohesive units.
Abomination: The exact nature of the Kingdom of Darkness and the way its forces are spawned is unknown, but it is suspected that abominations are something akin to failed experiments as the Dark King created its initial armies. Related to imps and daemons, abominations are massive creatures of no real intelligence, filled with a bestial rage that can rarely be contained even by their daemon handlers. Likened to elephant-sized apes, the abominations prefer to stand and move on all fours, with shortened hind legs and elongated forearms. The spines and horns of their lesser brethren have evolved into massive tusks capable of punching through plate armor. Up to 12 feet tall at the shoulders and weighing several tons, abominations can destroy a fortified city's defenses in a matter of moments.
Shade: Ephemeral creatures, shades have no bodies of their own but instead inhabit a host, controlling their victim's body and mind. Staying in one body for long enough permanently grants a shade the host's skills and memories - which coupled with their ability to move unnoticed through populations make shades incredibly versatile and dangerous opponents. Utilized by the King of Darkness to infiltrate, subvert and monitor conquered populations, the most nefarious aspect of shades is the uncertainty in ones' fellow man that they engender.
Nephila: Angels that have been seduced by the King of Darkness to turn against the Light. As powerful as the angels of the light before the Father's death, nephila are among the deadliest of the Dark King's minions, capable of leveling entire battlefields. Tasked by the Dark King with searching for and destroying all of their remaining unfallen brethren, nephila are seen in direct engagements only if there is a significant uprising that must be quickly quashed. Often appearing in human form, it is said that their true visage is both beautiful and terrifying.
