NEW TAX! All new Colony Members read!

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby SinfulSoul on Wed Sep 07, 2005 11:45 pm

This tax does not apply to Colony leaders or other government officials. If you're not 100% if you have to pay this tax, ask me before you are forced to suffer any consequences. Now on to the actual tax information:

Due to increasing demand for residency in space, over population has become a concern. In light of this possible crisis, a new tax is in effect for ALL colonies, including the MO-V Asteroid colony. Specific MO-V Asteroid Colony details listed further below.

Any new residents OR visitors MUST pay a 250,000 credit tax. For those who claim residency in the colonies, this will be a once per year tax and no other visitor or residency fee applies unless specifically stated. For Visitors, 250,000 credits pays for one month's worth of unlimited transit between the colonies and between any of the colonies and earth. For those in business, a deal can be worked out with the business for people who need to ship back and forth frequently.

Opposing rebels, opposing political parties, and opposing political party supporters, who enter the colonies for brief periods of time must pay fees of 500,000 credits upon entry, per entry. If they do not comply, more drastic measures at the discretion of the Colony Leaders or the Global Colony Leader may be applied. This includes visits from Earth's officials unless previously cleared by General Sin.

From now on, every bay in all the colonies, including private ones, will use already existing sensors to relay information back to central stations scattered all across each colony. Every resident or visitor who has paid their fine must carry around a passport card that will be scanned to gain access into the colonies, which verifies their payment.

Anyone attempting to enter the colonies without payment will be fined a substantially higher amount of money. If they do not comply, measures will be taken to ensure that ALL their assets are seized. Slavery is the only option available for those caught with insufficient funds and assets to pay.

MO-V: Sudara Okami, currently running for election of the MO-V colony, will also be waived from these expenses and regulations for now. However, those who wish to visit or reside in the MO-V colony will be regulated under the same policies as the rest of the colonies.

A list will be made here of people who need to pay, people who have paid, and date they have paid along with details of their payment.

The following clause is a modification to the above tax and subject to change without notice.

During these times of hostility with Earth, ANY transit to Earth by any means requires a 500,000 credit fee paid to the government prior to the transport. Again, this fee does not apply to military personnel enlisted in the Colonies or any other government official. MO-V residents are affected by this tax as well. The fee for entering the colonies from Earth is still 250,000 credits; however the 500,000 credit fee is sufficient for a roundtrip from the Colonies to Earth and back. Roundtrip from Earth to the Colonies and back results in a 750,000 credit fee, even for Earth's highest officials.

Members of }{G are considered to be employees of the government and do not need to pay these taxes unless otherwise stated.

Brute force to enforce these taxes on those who do not immediately comply is legal.

The following is a list of people who have paid the 250,000 credit tax for entering into the colonies. This list comprises of people deemed as "Visitors" and will be collected again in exactly 30 full days of the supplied date if the "Visitor" is still in the colonies:
Aarkon - Paid as of 9/12/199. Collect again on 10/12/199

Um.. Was that a complaint or were you just restating what I said? It sounded like you WANTED to pay taxes or something... If you want to, I could do that too..

What about in RP cases? Zach and I have to be discreet, so we roleplayed a fee waiver. >_> It gets filed away privately and all that. If it's that big of a deal I'll fork over the money, but I'd rather not have it on record "officially" RP wise.

You'll have to work descreetly with the government for special cases. A fee waiver will look a bit unusual by the way, that's not something that the government will likely allow. If you want his fee paid without record, just talk to me and we'll discuss the necessary arrangements.

But yeah, you're going to have to come up with a good reason to have a fee waiver. If you're not strictly aligned with }{G, a government officer, or actively participating in the military, a fee waiver will turn more heads than you'd want.

Yeah, if it turns out that the fee does need to be payed, I'll have Zach cough it up.

Or maybe he can apply for some sort of refugee discount? >>;

For one, Sinful has exempted us.

For another, }{G is the colonies' elite task force, thus we work for the gov't, thus we're exempt.

But, even if that point wasn't there, Sinful exempts us, and that's all that counts.

In addition to what Zhelir said, the other big reason why }{G is exempted is because I'M a part of }{G aswell.

Great, well, I just spoke to Eric, and he said MO-V isn't part of the Lagrange cluster, therefore I owe you no money.

Have a good one.

Either that, or you guys get no resources. Your choice.

This thread is being removed from sticky, this tax information is no longer valid unless General Sin regains control of all of space.
