New York City, New York: Dealing with the masses

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Warr on Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:57 pm

It had been less that two hours before the masses of people that lived in the City of New York, New York had been awoken from their complacent 'slumber'. The attack had luckily only been on the military base, and none of the millions of civilians in the New York Harbour area had been harmed that anyone knew of. There were emergancy forces all over the place. No Civilians had been hurt in anyway from the attack on the harbour, which was a good thing in the eyes of the young politician known as Warren K Mc Cue...

He had been directing emergancy forces from his offices in New York, as he had not chose to leave back for his normal offices yet.

The military base was an almost living hell in the aftermath of the attack. Though Warren did not know exactly whom they were that had attacked, he did know they had come from the colonies.

His own forces had went about gathering the wreckage from the Mobile Suits that had been involved in the defense, either to have them scrapped or have them repaired. Either way, they'd have to be taken to a different military base.

The wreckage was being checked and re-checked for any survivors, though it was not likely that there would be any, and everyone knew this.

The people were remembering something that had happened long before to the ancestors of these people as this was happening... something that had awakened the eyes of a raging giant of war in those days.

Something that might just yet do the same...

"I will not forget... we will not forget..."

The young politician picked up the closest phone to him as he shifted from his relaxed poisition in the chair, and he punched in some keys. He put the phone to his ear.

"Get me Zech Marquise. This is Warren K Mc Cue, of North America... I need to speak to him. It is urgent... and if I do not... I will mae sure you job is taken..."

The operator answered "Yes, sir... right away."

"Good..."

As Warren waited for the phone to be patched through to Zechs Marquise, he watched the news with the subtitles/captions on. He looked at the screen and watched Ms.Zainab's report on the television. As soon as it had finished, he turned to one of his followers and motioned for him to come here.

"Bring me, miss Zainab right now. As soon as possible. I need to speak to her about her broadcasts."

He turned his attention back to the phonecall.

Kim was a little annoyed to find out that she was summoned by some head soldier or somewhat. She had news pouring in like crazy and Kyle was slacking as always. With an exasperated sigh she had abandoned her work and followed the directions of the summon.

She arrived in the North American Nation about 3 hours after her broadcast. She then took the private jet that was waiting for her to this unknown military base.

She arrived at the base about 45 minutes later and was escorted to the man that summoned her. She enters the room with a hard look on her face. She wasn't going to be bossed around by no general or whatever. She was tired of the government's manipulation of its citizens and she was just here to get more to write about. She faced the man, standing erect, not changing her stern look at all.

"Kim Zainab here."

After waiting for nearly two hours for Mr.Marquise to answer the phone, or to get through to one of Mr.Marquise's assistants Warren had given the phone to one of his assistants.

Hours passed and about four hours later. The form of Kin Zainab strode in, and she stood straight looking at him with a stern look on her face.

She said "Kim Zainab here."

He cracked his neck, and hopped up from his seat, pulling out a seat for her and motioning to shake her hand.

"I'm Warren... and I brought you here to discuss a few things..."

Kim stared at him for a long time after his oh so obvious statement. She wanted to smack him across the head and say "no duh!?" But she resisted. She glanced at the seat he pulled out and then back at him. Sighing she sat down, crossed her legs and stared straight into his eyes.

"Get to the point...SIR...", she says with all rudeness intended.

"I ain't got all day."

She starts drumming her fingers on the arms of the chair and kept staring at him with a stern and unflinching look.

The young politician smiled at her disapproval. He had been hated almost his whole life. He had strived on hate. It was all he had had. His eyes shifted a bit, as if changing from the Midnight blue color as he gazed intently into her eyes.

"In exchange for all information you have on the attack, I will give you all the information I have on it... and I was one of the few REAL witnesses to it... I was fighting them in my own mobile suit... an odd little raiding part if I might say...."

He cracked his neck, and sat down accross from her, leaning back comfortably and casually in his chair.

She was getting a bit irritated at his constant cracking of his neck and just frowned deeply when he did it again. She sat there for awhile thinking about what he just said. She has learnt to not trust the government in whatever form they might present themselves and she was not liking this man at all. BUT, she was in need of a good story and the details of the attack were not..well detailed. Sighing heavily she looked at the man closely as she asked:

"Why...why do you want this?"

She knew the face from somewhere but didn't quite remember where and she knew that he was up to something.

He sighed himself as she sighed and looked him over, saying what she had. His eyes shifted color a bit again and his eyes narrowed for a moment as noticed he tone, and almost figured out what she was thinking. At least he could tell from the way she moved that she certainly disliked him, and was probably only here still because she wanted dirt on him and such so she could slander his organization.

"Why...why do you want this?"She asked.

He sighed, and tilted his head a bit to show her the slice on his neck left by wind.

"That is one reason why. I want to call those that did this out, or at least tell them I'm not gonna back-down like a coward because they took the initiative, and they had the upper hand first. They attacked a military base in my nation of birth, and they could have done worse than simply killed soldiers... I want any data that can be given about the incident you know, and I will give you what I know..."

Kim kept nodding as he spoke and finally put a finger on where she has seen him before. He was a politician, the prime of all evil. But! He was there, on the scene, in the heat of it all. She smiles, uncrossed her legs, then recrosses them again as she thought about what to say to him.

"Well...as you may have guessed or know, what we gather is that the attack was made by the colonies. Ordered by some powerful leaders of the colonies, i'm not going to name any names, you can figure that out by yourself. We also think that this may be brought on by...our leader Zechs Marquise. I believe you are famliar with this man and his speech at his recent press conference?"

She arches her eyebrows as she asked this question. She was taking her time, not giving too much and hoping to receive a lot more back.

The young man nodded to her as she said what she said, and after she smiled.

He of course knew it was the colonies, and no mere low ranked warriors at that, whom had been the raiders. He also knew that it was basically brought on by the speech of mister Milliardo Peacecraft/ Zechs Marquise.

He nodded towards her before speaking.

"Of course I know whom Mister Marquise is. How could I not? He is the one whom recently secured leadership of the planet..."

He mumbled something of disgust towards Zechs Marquise. Then he looked back towards her, his eyes looking feircly and fully into her eyes, filled with a passionate bit of energy. He recognized the way she looked at him, and knew she had remembered he was a politician just from her odd change of attitude.

"IF you think I am going to be giving away wha I know to you via stupidity on my part, or overpride... you are sadly mistaken... I will talk to you about the assault itself if you would like... I also am not a mere politician, or someone you would consider such a thing as a politician that cared of anything but his own people and his own concerns for humankind..."

He snapped his fingers for one of his assistants to bring the two some beverages.

"What type of beverage would you like?"

Kim did not come here just to know how the battle went, that was kids reporters stuff. She was here to find out the story behind it. Sighing and spreading her arms she spoke:

"Well...i'm sorry to hear that you can't tell me anything more than I already know. Everyone who was there could SEE how the battle went on. I'm not here to write a novel about the emotional, physical, yadda yadda of battles but get a report on what/where/when/why/ and ...you get my drift."

She got up and started heading out the door.

"I'm not thirsty...for a beverage...but for news, when you got it. Contact me."

He shrugged as she turned to leave. His eyes twinkled with a bit of a tease in them. The young polotica warlord seemed to know more than he wanted to reveal to her... or more than he had.

"I know at least a bit more... I know things no one saw... but... if you want more information later... be sure to call me."

He tore out a peice of paper out of a nearby spiral, and took a fountain pen out. His hand started moving rapidly, and with in ten seconds he was done writting and had handed her a peice of paper with writting on it.

"That is my private communicator line."
