The Price of Blood

Non-Player Characters

a part of “The Price of Blood”, a fictional universe by Scarlet Loup.

It is in our nature to lie, to deceive. We are all too often driven by our ambition and greed rather than our love for other humans, and this greed is what sends us on a path toward retrogression.

Full Name:Brienne of Tarth

Age:28

Written Personality: Brienne is often described as ugly and distinctly unfeminine in appearance and manner, being well over six feet tall with boyish features. She lacks the grace and confidence of any lady and even most warrior women. What she does possess is unwavering courage and honor that is beyond reproach or compromise. Headstrong and judgmental, but she is also honest, straightforward, loyal and determined. Brienne doesn't have many real friends outside Alistair Lannister, her king, and Sandor Clegane, her compatriot in the kingsguard with whom she spends most of her time with despite how different their personalities are. Given her appearance and somewhat introverted personality she can be somewhat wary of new people, fearful she will be the but of some joke and as a result can be rather distrustful at first.

Relations to other Characters: Lord Selwyn Tarth of Evenfall, father. Alistair Lannister, friend and king. Sandor Clegane, friend and fellow kingsguard. Ser Barristan Selmy, fellow kingsguard.

Who can play this character? Only me

Optional History: Brienne has spent most of her life as the object of scorn, rejection and – at best – pity. When she tried to dress and act like a proper lady, she was met with mockery and disdain for her unattractive appearance and lack of feminine social graces; when she turned to a career more suited to her talents as a warrior, she received only contempt and resentment for her gender despite her considerable skill. That was until she met a young knight by the name of Alistair Lannister, unlike others who seen her fight Alistair saw not a woman playing at being a man but a skilled warrior and gifted sword fighter. Alistair befriended the introverted warrior woman even though his cocky, sarcastic personality made it difficult to trust him at first. Brienne has seen the good in Alistair, his honor and bravery and as such sees Alistair as her constant leader and good friend. Brienne fought beside Alistair in the war with Falor. When Alistair became king it was only natural she would be the first of his kingsguard. She tries her best to stay out of the conflict between her king and queen but being the friend of the king she can't help but sympathize with his side of the issue and see the queen as someone who can be rather cruel and uncaring to a husband who Brienne feels is such a good and honorable man. The only person she admits her concerns to about the queen is Sandor Clegane, her fellow member of the kingsguard and good friend.

Full Name: Sandor Clegane 'The Hound'

Age:31

Written Personality: Sandor Clegane is unabashedly blunt, brutal, pragmatic and unapologetic. A man who hates knights and their so called brother almost as much as he hates the brother who burned his face. As a child his brutish older brother Gregor held his face to a brazier, burning half his face, leaving him horribly scarred and with a near crippling fear of fire. As a result many have difficulty look Sandor in the eye for not wishing to stare at the mans horrible scars. Being a towering individual, standing around seven and a half feet tall, thick with muscle and half his face scarred makes Sandor and imposing individual who often gets either angry at people for not looking him in the face or sees them as cowards. Sandor has hatred of knights and all they supposedly stand for due to the fact that if his cruel and savage brother could be a knight, the very concept of knighthood was a sick joke. Despite his gruff and violent personalities traits, Sandor is above all honest in his own way.

Relations to other Characters: Gregor Clegane 'The Mountain', Brother and enemy. Alistair Lannister, Friend and King. Brienne of Tarth, Friend and fellow Kingsgaurd. Ser Barristan Selmy, fellow Kingsguard.

Who can play this character? Only me

Optional History:Sandor's childhood appears to have been overshadowed by his older brother Gregor's brutality and martial prowess. Aged seven, his father explained away the burns inflicted by Gregor by claiming his bedding caught fire. There are rumours of a sister who died young in mysterious circumstances, and their father was killed in a hunting accident, which is also implied to have been suspicious, leaving the family estates to Gregor. Sandor left to take service with the Lannisters shortly after, House Clegane's liege lords. It is there he first met Alistair Lannister, the son of Lord Tywin Lannister. At first Sandor thought Alistair was just some spoiled lordling but after running a foul of bandits one day in the woods and slaughtering twenty or so brigands back to back with Alistair he earned a new found respect for him. Alistair's pragmatism did a great deal in earning Sandors respect and later on his friendship as well. Sandor fought beside Alistair in the war with falor. Once Alistair became king Sandor was asked to serve on his kingsguard. Sandor accepted and after butting heads for a while he eventually became good friends with Brienne of Tarth, a warrior woman he at first despise but later respected. Sandor doesn't think much of the queen anymore, once Alistair and she had a falling out.

Full Name: Ser Barristan Selmy 'Barristan the Bold'

Age: 64

Written Personality: Ser Barristan Selmy is the epitome of all a knight should aspire to be. Honorable, courageous, gentle, strong, honest, loyal and trustworthy. His vows as a knight are among the most important things in his life next to his devotion to the princess. He is a caring man and a natural teacher and guardian. He naturally takes on a very grandfatherly demeanor with princess Cassandra loves her as he would his own daughter if he had one. Her safety and happiness are paramount to the aged old knight. He has a great respect and love for her father Alistair as well, being their the day he was knighted.

Relations to other Characters: Cassandra Lannister, princess and sworn charge. Alistair Lannister, King and friend.

Who can play this character? Only me and Scarlet Loup

Optional History: Ser Barristan Selmy, sometimes called Barristan the Bold, is a celebrated hero and knight of the Kingsguard. A living legend and even in his old age one of the finest swordsmen alive. He has fought in more wars then most men can count and has had along life of earning glory for the realm and protecting those within it. Many years ago he fought in a battle with kingswood outlaws and in that battle a young squire saved his life, and was knighted that day on the battlefield. That young squire was Alistair Lannister and ever since Ser Barristan has taken a special interest in the young man. He's served as a mentor and friend to Alistair all the way up to the war against Falor. Already serving house Lannister and Ser Alistair as he was at the time the day his daughter was born Alistair made him her sword shield. He was sworn to be with her every day, to protect her and safeguard her from all harm. It is a charge he takes very seriously and has grown a great fondness and love for the girl. He cares for her as he would if she was his own child and wants deeply for her parents to reconcile so she would have both her parents once again.

Full Name:Lord Tywin Lannister

Age:55

Written Personality: Tywin is a calculating, intelligent, politically astute, ruthless, and controlling man. He dedicates his life and efforts towards maintaining the Lannisters' prestige, and ensuring House Lannister is respected, or at least feared. He is a proven battle commander and politician, and has a very powerful presence combined with an intimidating gaze. While he is often quoted as saying that family is most important anyone, especially his children, will point out Tywin is more concerned with the family name and it's legacy more so than the actual members within it.

Relations to other Characters: Father of King Alistair Lannister. Father in law to Queen _______ Brigham. Grandfather of Princess Cassandra Lannister.

Who can play this character? Only me

Optional History: Tywin was born to Tytos Lannister. Not much is known of Tywin’s childhood, but his early years were formative ones, shaping his mind and resolve for the life that lay ahead of him. Tywin was forced to watch his mighty house nearly brought to ruin through his father's actions. His father while a gentle and amiable man was also weak willed and eager to please, loans went unpaid and his bannermen did what they pleased mocking him in their cups or openly defying him. Perhaps the most important moment for Tywin was the realization of what power meant, which was driven home when his father, tried to quell Lord Tarbeck, his most disloyal bannermen by having him imprisoned. Lord Tarbeck's wife responded by capturing three Lannisters and threatening to harm them if her husband was not returned. Tywin counseled his father to send Lord Tarbeck back to his Lady in three pieces, one for every Lannister captured, but Tytos was a gentler man than that, and he caved in to Lady Tarbecks demands further weakening the position of their house. House Lannister's reputation was low because of Tywin's weak father, Tytos. Tywin had to take ruthless steps to rectify the situation restoring the family honor and fortune from its near ruin. Tywin took upon himself the task of putting down his two most unruly houses, House Tarbeck and House Reyne, for their defiance. He did so with ruthless efficiency, destroying both houses entirely so that their lines were ended, leaving their ruined and shattered castles as a mute testimony to the fate that awaits those who scorn the power of Casterly Rock. Such was the brutality of Tywin's destruction of House Reyne that a song called "The Rains of Castamere" was written as a tribute to the event. Indeed when Lord Farman of Faircastle grew truculent Tywin sent a messenger with a lute instead of a letter and once "The Rains of Castamere" was played Lord Farman caused no further trouble. When Alistair and his wife rose up in rebellion against the crown Tywin was ill pleased and even stayed out of the conflict for some time, keeping his army in Casterly Rock, only towards the twilight hour of the war did Tywin finally choose a side and that side was his sons not out of devotion to his eldest child but out of duty to his house and name.

Full Name:Tyrion Lannister, sometimes mockingly called 'the Imp' and 'the Halfman'

Age:23

Written Personality: Tyrion is shrewd, educated, and calculating, but receives little respect for this from his father, because of his deformity of dwarfism, and for the death of his mother during his birth. He is capable of cruelty to his enemies, but also has great sympathy for fellow outcasts and the mistreated. Even though he is no warrior, he has instances where he shows great bravery. He has stated that what he lacks in size and strength he makes up for in mental acuity. He displays high intelligence and great promise during his dealings in the capitol helping his brother to deal with political rivals, revealing himself to be as politically savvy and astute as his father, yet receives close to no recognition for it from most besides his brother.

Relations to other Characters: Brother of King Alistair Lannister. Brother in law to Queen _______ Brigham. Uncle of Princess Cassandra Lannister.

Who can play this character? Only me

Optional History:Tyrion was born the second child of Tywin and Joanna Lannister. Joanna died giving birth to him, and as a result his father blamed him for her death and hates him for that and for his deformity. Tyrion finds himself excluded from regular family life, especially by his father and by his cousins, only having a close relationship with his brother. As a child, Tyrion knew he would never be a knight, and so thought to become the High Septon instead, since that crystal crown added a foot to one's height. When Tyrion was thirteen, he and his brother Alistair rescued a common girl, Tysha, from some bandits, and thoughts of love quickly replaced those of priesthood. While Alistair went after the bandits Tyrion took care of Tysha. To his amazement Tysha liked him, and they eventually made love. Tyrion became so enamoured by her that he bribed a septon and married her in secret. Their happiness lasted only two weeks, however, before Tyrion’s father got news of the wedding. Lord Tywin commanded Alistair to say that Tysha was a prostitute whom he had hired for Tyrion’s benefit since at the time he was still a virgin. Because the “whore” had presumed to marry a Lannister, Tywin had his entire guard rape Tysha for a silver each and then made Tyrion go last for a gold coin, because a Lannister is worth more. The ordeal scarred Tyrion and has made lasting relationship with women nearly impossible. He is a constant whore monger because he cannot or at least believes he cannot elicit a womans affection through merit alone. When Alistair and his new wife rose up in rebellion Tyrion was intrigued to say the least, curious how everything would turn out but left Casterly Rock the day he'd received the raven to help his brother. While not a warrior Tyrion helped with his mind as a strategist and councilman. Now with Alistair as king Tyrion serves form time to time helping his brother in the political arena, an area Alistair tends to lack in. Currently he is trying to unravel the mystery of his brothers deteriorating relationship with his wife.
