Normally I don't join forum sites anymore because I burned myself out on them in college when I did nothing but post on Yahoo Groups (back then it was cooler and Yahoo Clubs). however, Remaeus is a friend of mine, as is Kasurin (I think that's the name she uses on here) so I was gently nudged (several times) into joining.
So about me as a person:
I'm 26/F/Raleigh NC. I love metal music (mostly Prog/Power metal type stuff and Scandinavian death metal), reading sci-fi/fantasy and dark erotica (Like Laurell K Hamilton), roller coasters, tea, and learning new stuff. I spend probably somewhere around 15 hours in front of the computer each day because of my work and because I"m lazy, but I'm planning on changing that soon. I work from home as a personal assistant to adult entertainers. It's definitely an interesting job, and I am in the process of writing a book about my experiences in working for porn stars.
About me as a gamer:
I've never really gotten into online gaming. I think I briefly flirted with it in chat rooms when I was in high school, but it didn't strike me as anything that was all that organized. I've never done forum roleplay. As far as console and computer games, I have some old favorites that I really enjoy and still play from time to time, when I have emulators for them, such as some NES games, on SNES--Chrono Trigger, Legend of Zelda: A link from the past, and Final Fantasy II. Then once we got into the more intense consoles like Playstation I kinda gave up on it, although my brother did get me to play a few games with him on his Playstation I and II from time to time. I'd LOVE to have a Nintendo Wii and play the Zelda game for that, but I have yet to do so. I've heard good things about them though. As far as computer games I got into Baldur's Gate II and IceWind Dale, but that's it. I tried playing The Wheel of Time once, but I was thoroughly disgusted with it and didn't play for very long. I'm a HUGE Robert Jordan fan (which means I've been in tears a lot lately on his passing) and the way they had that game set up was almost nothing like what he had except for some people's titles.
I've NEVER done LARP'ing. Seems like it's too expensive and a waste of time.
For the past 4 years I've done table-top gaming. Started out with Vampire the Dark Ages, on a REALLY LONG campaign that was running at least 2 years before I joined and just ended last year. We are now playing Star Wars, but it's my roommate's version of Star Wars, since he's the GM. (he was the GM in Vampire as well, he'll almost never play a game he's not running personally). I plan at some point to create my own campaing for a Wheel of Time game, but for right now that's on hold since I'm not sure how to get gamers and I don't like the 3rd Edition rules that the "official" game goes by--so, NEW system! I do know after the Star WArs campaign ends that we will be going back to Vampire, however. currently we play every other Saturday.
So, that's the basic gist of me for now.
