NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month) is a project where you write one poem a day, for the month of April.

I did all my poems today and yesterday, so I chose hard route, but others might not. Overall, this month if you take part, (in the event, not the month) will improve your writing and could also lead to people finding out they're good at poetry.

All users put their daily submissions here. Label each poem with title and date.

Ready set go!

Letter to the Future

Dear Mr. Swain-Nisbet this is rather oxymoronic I admit at this time,
but how are you, how are things? Did you find the clue to life and move on,
did you achieve the dreams and dance the rainbow. Follow the flow and escape.
Was it worth it? Did you dream big or is this case for you, rather distressing?

I admit it's weird to write to the future, without precognition or idea of what,
but I write in good spirits and hope for progress, did you learn to ride a bike,
escape from life? Or did you ever see Europe like you dreamed?

I feel so lonely at this moment, and force a facade on my face everyday,
I ask you now and ask you loudly. Don't let my fuck-up trip you,
ignore and progress. Live your life and fight for rights,
never give in and never lose hope.

I'm an optimistic cynic with a heart of gold,
maybe you my future are an idealist or religious?
Doesn't really matter, reincarnation or not,
we've got a long road to go, don't forget.

Don't forget.

We help the multi-nationals
when they cry out protect us.
The locals scream and shout a bit,
but we don’t let that affect us.
We’re here to lend a helping hand
in case they don’t elect us.
How dare they buy our products
yet still they don’t respect us.

You Brought Me To This

Give me a rusty coat hanger,
tetnus infused, jammed it in the uteri
murder my body, murder my life.
I'm the one that exists, and yet
you rob rob my choice,
and then don't care,
give a shit,
it's all about your morals
not my choice
never was
You forced this on me
in a few days I'll die.
Outlaw my life
you fucking did
I had no money
no food of my own
you killed me
religion killed me
your morals killed me

Coughing and choking on last breath
I only want to know...

How can you call yourself Pro Life?

Swimming with Fishes

I asked for a secret beneath the waves
a broken pledge, shattered trust,
there was silence before the collapse
no one marched or even cried
it was simple matter of friendship
twisted to and fro, a simple pledge
a simple promise.

If only I knew of the undercurrents.

4th April 2012

War was Declared

Shades of red,
dancing light
confusion swing
simple things
bring back the simple things
give me stain on the dress
not such unrest
a country in great distress
so many figures you declare.
Loudly pray, "This one will fix all."
Meanwhile this dance of corruption,
and neo-political game plays out,
take that, tit for that, the next war
is in your vagina, we're sending the troops
occupation will happen within days.
Don't think you even have say, we're also
interested in occupying the bedrooms
introduce mass amounts of legislation
with cameras in toilets and rooms,
we must know who screwing who?
Oh we're screwing you, but it's best for you.

The first poem I don't like so much, the rest of them are pretty good, a little confusing as to what the meaning behind them is, but definitely a good way to express it.

Thurs. April 5

Carpets

Curled up on the kitchen floor
trying to hide from the day.

"But we've just started!"
she calls; I stay away.

Bottles and tubes of
makeup and other stuff
too callous to mention.

Walls, and a curtain
marred with eye-level
sins.

"If I hide in here forever,"
I ask the toilet, patiently,
"will the world stop and
never ask to be with me?"
