Name: Nobunaga

Personality: [ Nobunaga is currently the head of the Yakuza. One does not achieve such status by being dull and incapable of intelligence. And this is perhaps slightly true for Nobunaga. He is a man of many faces, capable of just about anything and everything. He is powerful, even by Oni standards, however; he was not always so. Most do not know this little fact about him, and it is something he does not share. He runs his gang with an iron fist and isn't afraid to terminate anyone who gets in his way. Most executions he has done, have always been public, just to make sure that those who serve him, and those who are against him know that he is not against such tactics. He is a very strategic man, never really doing anything without reason. Though he is also still just a man and has indulged himself in more than a handful of humans, Hanyou's, and Oni alike. He may not like Hanyou's or humans, but when it comes to certain pleasures, he does not discriminate. He enjoys holding power over others and often reminds them of it as well. He is also quite possessive and doesn't necessarily like sharing his property. Using people is not something Nobunaga is not known for. He uses them either for personal gain or some other reason. Regardless, to put it simple, Nobunaga is an Oni driven by ambition and one goal: to resurrect the fallen King of Oni, starting with the small Edo village. ]

Information: [ His abilities have never been displayed for the public, and not much is known what he is capable of. Nobunaga also does not appear as most Oni. In fact, he appears completely human for the most part, with dark hair, and equally dark eyes. It is speculated that he may be a Hanyou himself, however; his power and position often manage to reinforce that he is a full-blooded Oni. Though one still wonders how true that really is... ]

Gender: Male

Personality: Sakaki is considerably more intelligent than the average oni. This does not stop him from being violent, brutal, and bloodthirsty. He sees no need to check his drives—any of them—and exercises his power under no more limits than those absolutely necessary. Fighitng is a way of life for him, but so is tactical cunning, making him a dangerous foe in even the safest of situations.

Information: Sakaki has a wider range of powers than most oni. His ki seems to be lightning-aligned, which enables him to enhance his own body and capabilities by manipulating his bioelectricity. It gives him a particularly nasty berserk mode, among other things. He lost his horns in a fight with Makoto’s father, though he and the Slayer do not know this about each other.

Gender: Male

Personality: Hayabusa is a stern, forbidding sort of fellow upon first pass, but one with very large, very obvious soft spots, for his wife, daughter, surrogate son, and anyone he finds under his care. As a former Slayer, he is very accomplished in his craft, though being only human, he has never had the particular talent for it that Makoto has. Still, there’s plenty he can still teach the whelp, and a few other people, too.

Information: Hayabusa lost his left arm in a battle with an oni during the war, forcing an early retirement from his trade. Still, when he settled outside of Edo, he did it with the intent of serving Nanami Yoshida and her children until he died. While not a hunter herself, she was the last of her noble clan, after all. His ki, like Makoto’s, is air-aligned, enabling him to pass on many of his techniques and watch them transform under the hand of his student. Though aged perhaps a little prematurely by a hard life, he is nevertheless strong and vital even at nearly sixty, and hasn’t lost much of his edge, even considering the arm.

Personality: Chinatsu is as chatty and sociable as her daughter, and a generally amiable person to be around. Her job as the town’s tailor means that she interacts with a lot of different people, and she has a sociable demeanor about her… not to mention an opinion on everything.

Information: Chinatsu has enough ki power to do small things like light fires and keep herself warm (her ki is fire-aligned), but she is far from a warrior, and prefers to keep this information to herself.

Gender: Female

Personality: Nanami’s heart is assuredly in the right place. Her life has hardly been easy—she was thrown from an existence as a clan princess into a life of near-poverty as a result of the first war, and without much of a way to make due for herself, it was perhaps unsurprising that she had difficulty adjusting. But she has come through admirably for the sake of her children, learning a trade and plying it now in the absence of her husband. She is the town’s apothecary and medicine woman, and her history as the last heir to a clan of Slayers is unknown to all but a few.

Information: Nanami has never been a fighter—it isn’t really in her nature. She never learned to slay demons growing up, and when her family was overrun by oni, she was saved largely by a stroke of luck—the warlord who accomplished the feat took a shine to her, and kept her much as one keeps a pet, only… with implications. When she found out she was going to have his child, she feared for the fate of her hanyou baby and fled in the night, using her family’s skills to avoid being tracked, and made her way to the outskirts of Edo. There, she had Makoto, and eventually found herself a husband who was willing to accept her child as well. She bore him triplets—but not until just after his own death. Fortunately, she had learned enough of his craft to get by, and taught herself the rest as she went along. She is conflicted about Makoto’s choice to take up her family’s mantle, but she knows it’s not her choice to make, any longer.

Personality: The triplets are mischievous children, and often drive their much older brother Makoto halfway to a headache by midday. Shin is a bit more serious than his sisters, and Rinko is incredibly shy, but Momoko knows no limits whatsoever. The three together are a potent combination. They, unlike Makoto, have their father’s last name rather than their mother’s, and all three of them are wholly human—though still of Slayer blood.

Information: Shin and Momoko know a few things about weapons, and Rinko is actually a very talented healer. Her ki, like Yuzuki’s, is heaven-aligned. All of them have received some basic training in their abilities, but considering how young they are, they still have very far to go.

Gender: Female

Personality: Sakuya is a truly fierce young woman, with a will of steel and a heart of fire. She has been made strong by her heritage and her hardship, and is a proud representative of the capabilities of human Slayers. She has difficulty expressing her more tender emotions, and tends to keep them locked very tightly inside herself and well-hidden, or so she believes. In truth, they are often right on her face for anyone to see. She has a great deal of admiration for her teacher, Makoto, and she refers to him as sensei, much to his chagrin.

Information: The eldest daughter of the last head of the Chiyama house, Sakuya is actually slated to inherit the position herself, since she had no brothers and is the eldest of her sisters. Before she can do that, however, she has to learn her family’s final demonslaying techniques, complicated applications of ki that most humans would never be able to master. She is not yet ready for them, however, and has sworn to remain under Makoto’s tutelage for as long as is necessary to gain access to the techniques. At first, she resented his presence in her life, believing that her father meant to replace her with a Yoshida, but she has since changed her tune a great deal, and is in fact quite deeply in love with him, something she believes she keeps well-concealed.

Gender: Male

Personality: The Dragon is a surprisingly tolerant fellow, and greets all who enter his company with the same level of respect, be they humans, hanyou, or oni. He is also, however, very clearly a man used to command, and harsh on those who do not obey the laws of his lands. Human-killing is an offense punishable by death, for instance, and he rarely sees reason to bend that rule. Still, it is clear that he is a charismatic, inspiring leader, one whose draw is equal parts his exotic appearance (even among frequently pale-haired oni) and the force of his dynamic personality.

Information: The White Dragon’s real name is Isamu Tennou, and he is the last scion of one of the proudest noble oni lineages in the country. His family holds dominion over the northern lands of the Honshu region, as well as parts of the Hokkaido area even further north. The stronghold of their power is Sendai, a large and prosperous city near the coast. Unlike many oni-controlled areas, this one is open to humans, and free of the sort of careless attitude towards killing humans found elsewhere. Some call the Dragon soft for this, but there is nothing soft about the man in battle, certainly, and many of these have reconsidered when they felt the pressure of his armies.
