“How about some light?

That simple sentence tore his attention away from his current target and allowed it to settle, solely, upon Holdesta. Up until that point, she hadn’t seemed like much of a threat; true, she was present and on the battlefield, ready to sully her hands in the staining essence of their bodies if it ever got to that point…but she hadn’t really done anything that would cause him to focus on her. The eldritch energies swirling about her, tracing jagged lines across the ground as it charged and himself and his comrade, however, were quite captivating.

Cerise lambency spiked higher in intensity as the crimson orb held steadfast within the grasp of his right hand seemed to reach some kind of fruition; it was as if a mental ding had gone off in his head to alert him that the time was now. The dextral limb lifted expeditiously as the luminal delineations raced towards them. A sheathe of red light surged up his arm; circuitry ran down them moments before the sanguine jacket was forcibly expelled. The orb shot outwards to an area directly in front of them and exploded in a dazzling display of nonsensical imagery that erected a shimmering, transient wall in front of himself and Animus.

When her arrays of light met the unforgiving barrier, they were instantly reflected and sent on a course of inverse trajectory; they would fly, with near double the speed, right back at Holdesta and were tinged a slight red. The light gently shimmered away, and the two partners stood unfazed.

Laughter rang out as pristinely as a choir of bells; it merged with the ambience of the battlefield. He was not laughing to mock them nor deride nor ridicule them; he was not laughing to smack down their ability or skill on the field of battle, but rather…because he was having fun. His laughter was untainted with arrogance and merely resonated with the immaculate tone of a child at play.

As his fit of laughter left him, Odin canted his head curiously at Animus. What happened next was not a show of telepathy or any other form of mental intrusion; simply, it was threads of friendship connecting the two in such an infallible way that they could communicate without thought of magic.

Odin would take the girl; Animus could take the man.
[hr]Ruby Runes of Reversal: The momentum of any objects that strike the surface of the barrier is automatically reversed when passing through the ambit of the runes. In this case, the magic is tainted with Odin’s own force so that Holdesta cannot control the lines of light and merely alter their path.

(OOC: Too true! Just imagine the lines hitting the wall and then going back to Holdesta; at least in the case of Odin and Animus. They don't know what you're doing and will treat almost anything that has magic in it as unfriendly fire.)

Zeph’s eyes reflected Holdesta’s brilliance beams for but a moment, and without the woes of concern he continued his assail on Saladin.

Saladin’s air shield would not keep Zeph’s earthen utility from enveloping him. The earth climbed over the air layer, and still attempted to compress those legs. In which case, Saladin would have to have worried about the air compression crushing his legs instead. When Animus realized that something was working against him, he quickly decided to go about it another way – another way that would simply end this struggle right now and keep the opponent from escaping.

That held-out hand reopened, and it closed once more. This time the psychosomatic action caused the earth layer surrounding Saladin’s leg to implode into a myriad of earthen spires, leaving him in a sorts of . . . earthen maiden that would keep him in place. The sharp spikes – by effect – should pierce Saladin’s air shield and traverse its vicinity before impaling those lower limbs.

Soon after that, Animus lowered both his hands and stepped forward while lifting them up – open-palmed -- as if commanding a symphony. The earth that surrounded Saladin four feet away rose into an earthen dome . . . that stopped under his wings. This way, he would not be able to flap them downward to pull himself upwards. And finally, Zeph brought those uprisen hands down to his waist, hands clenched into tight fists.

The larger dome imploded into another earthen maiden. Larger spikes erupted from the surrounding walls. However, these spires would skewer his whole body, all the way up to his upper chest, and end the fight right then and there.

It was obvious now that there was a connection with Animus and the ground below Saladin. That brilliance emanating from Zeph’s cloak started to grow excited.

Animus turned to face Odin for a moment, and he nodded back. "Thanks for the help," he notioned towards Holdesta before his lips curled into an ominous smirk.

Holdesta was kneeling when she felt the attack from Saladin a fraction of a second before it came. At the same time though her Light was not ment as an attack, Odin tained and redirected her light back at her.

The rest of her light hit the wall of the arena and lite up the night so the warriors could see in the coming dusk. Holdesta had a mere second to decide which attack to take dead on. She chose Saladin's. She turned her body slightly to take the lightning across her back...erecting a small feild of Light to help it disapate along her body. " Ahhrg" Holdesta grunted as the bolt hit her hard sending her toward Odin in a series of tumbles. She felt the energy sizzle across her bare back and down her arms discharging into the earth. Holdesta tried to use the force of the lighting to roll over the oncoming Light but insted She rolled right across the red Lights path...

The discharging lightning met the red Light with a fantastic CRACK...Holdest'a body being the medium. The explosion sent the girl in one last tumble...which she rolled and jumped straight up trying to land on her feet... straight for the masked warrior.

Holdesta felt the burn across her back and down her arms searing pain told her of its severity...her sais still in her hands had burned thier imprint on her. She had abosored both kinds of attacks before but never had they collided in her! Holdesta looked up at Odin less than two inches from him and smiled weakly "What are the chances?" Holdesta mumbled before collapsing full force forward...she was breathing hard trying to regain her composure...

In her mind Holdesta was laughing wryly...how stupid to get a blow like that by shear chance? She would look the fool to them...she may even pay the price with her life but she had a suspision Odin would not want such a simple victory...well she hoped.

As the earth continued it's attempt to engulf the legsof Saladin, a smile adorned his seemingly carved facial features. In all truth, the fighter who was trying to use the earth against him, probably didn't realise Saladin also had control over the Earth Element. So, now he would reveal this to his opponent.

The earth around his legs, although not quite yet ready to break through the barrier of Saidin, was becoming rather irritating. So, calling upon his Earth Elemental, the symbiant being within himself, allowing Saladin access to the Elemental power. Through hs training at the Sorcerer's Guild School, and his subsequent rise to power in the Guardians of Kelante, Saladin had realised the root of using Elementals. The relationship between host and symbiant.

His relationship with all his Elelmentals was brilliant, and now, as he called upon the Earth Elementla, the earth surrounding his legs was turned to sand, leaving the legs free only a moment before, quite unknowingly, Saladin would have had his legs impaled.

The domes rose, and although he had successfully removed the earth from around his legs, he could not do anything about the domes in time. The larger dome appeared, and Saladin knew that something would soon be occuring, something possibly fatal.

His relationship with the Elementals was now as such that it took merely a moment for him to call upon his power, and he could work them all together with great skill, should the need arise. He was always weary and cautious of doing so, however, as he knew that using all of the Elementals at once would drain his power trememndously.

Two Elementals at once though, was no problem. Wind Elelmental was what Saladin would use, and as he did so, a forceful wind swirlled outwards from him, spiralling until it filled the arena. Those spikes were forced off of their path as the wind seemed to instantly become as a tornado. Saladin, in the centre of the tornado, sand being picked up and thrown throughout the arena, blinding the eyes of all within. It was now that he used the Saidin he had prepared many minutes ago.

Fire and Spirit, weaved together in perfect harmony. Suddenly, as the weaves were finalised, the power was sent into the wind, as fire filled the arena only a moment after the wind knocked away those spikes of earth.

Keeping the Earth Elemental in use, Saladin made the ground beneath him grow upwards into a mighty pillar, his form raising high into the air, momentarily out of harm's way.

Now surrounded by a deep blue flame, his aura seemed to roar as a furnace, flecks of pure white could also be seen within that aura, a sign that he was channeling Saidin, the male half of the True Source.

Watching the swirling fire below, he stood atop the pillar remaining perfectly calm and in silence. He was not sure what resu;t this fire would have, but he was now prepared for any further attack.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Odin on Mon Mar 19, 2007 10:17 pm

(OOC: I hope Holdesta doesn’t take what happens next and holds it against Odin; it’s not his choice <_< it’s just what would naturally happen.)

As Holdesta passed through the wall erected by the Ruby Runes of Reversal, Odin watched in a slight indifference the sequence of events that unfolded next. First and foremost, however, it should be noted that Odin’s countenance was contorted in an expression of surprise; he could have sworn that the Ruby Runes would have faded away after stopping Holdesta’s attack. Then again, perhaps it lasted longer than usually because it hadn’t actually reflected an attack, per say. Whatever the reason, it continued.

Odin had been preparing something since near the beginning of the battle, and had been silently musing to himself as to when someone would be foolish enough to step into the domain which existed under his direct area of influence. The iridescent shell he had erected earlier, the smell of ozone; they pointed towards one obvious answer…and that answer was death.

As the something reached into the ambit of Odin’s prepaared spell, it would be met with a most lethal resistance. For a mere instance in time, the prismatic bubble which surrounded him came into play; it provided resistance enough to show it pushed against Holdesta, but not nearly enough to impede her movements. She was like a spear through a sheet of paper.

An ethereal connection was made between the Origin (Odin) and the Point of Impact (Holdesta), one that would go unseen and unfelt by any of them and, indeed, one that was merely superficial; the attack would commence with or without the connection’s confirmation. It sprung forth from the eternal valleys of puissance that he held deep within the matrix of his body; ushered forth by an invisible hand, molded and tempered a thousand times in a split-second, before released in a flash of cobalt lambency.

A bolt of power sprung forth without his consent, even without his conscious mind working at it, and surged through the air, bore and wove through the threads of reality to strike Holdesta’s form with a power with a contact that would make the prior bolt of lighting feel as nothing more than a tickle. Truly, this was the arrow of the gods that sought to strike her; it was too fleet to conceive and feasibly dodge with enough power to end the life of a titan. The breath that Holdesta took moments before impregnating his barrier was her last.
[hr]Aurora Shell (3 Preps): A protective barrier that completely encapsulates Odin’s form. Any object that comes into contact with it is affected much the same as being struck by a bolt of lightning. Those have that arcane sight can note Aurora-like waves of color surging around his form, and those with keen enough scent might notice the smell of ozone emanating off of him.

Animus’ intense earthen kinship allowed for acute sensory of his attacks’ progress. When Saladin’s looming influence came over the earth surrounding his leg, Zeph knew about it, and would react accordingly.

The ground under Saladin had a connection with Zeph’s presence, and the strength of the influence he had over the earthen entity was proportional to the impetuous brilliance emanating from within his robe. A green impulse rocked Zeph’s vicinity, causing an extreme amount of his energy to flux into Saladin’s area. It was as if a once compressed amount of concentration was released in the form of augmented earth manipulation.

The earth on Saladin’s leg fell apart into dust.

Immediately, the spikes that were coming at Saladin picked up an immense amount of speed, making it harder for Saladin to alter their trajectories with the use of air. The unfinished dome that had risen around him erupted into actions at ridiculous speeds as well. The dome rose above Saladin and came to a close above, additive walls of earth packed onto it immediately, leaving Saladin trapped with those winds inside. In the end, it looked like a thick rock dome with wings coming out two sides.

Try turning all that into dust. It won’t get past me this time around, he thought to himself.

A right hand rose before he snapped his fingers. The spikes inside the dome burst into a myriad of continuous explosions, filling the dome within with shrapnel that was glowing with preternatural augmentation – glowing with shield-piercing competence.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Holdesta on Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:39 pm

(OOC: Hope you do not mind if I do not just let you kill me with one blow :D it is only natural)

Holdesta mumbled her words as she stared into the colbaalt blast that hit her from the front. The energy hit her body..her cells screamed with pain. She tasted fear and heard the Light...colors sang and the ground reached up caressing her in its embrace. Holdesta's nerves all shook as they were brought to thier highest stimulus and burned out. Her heart heaved one last great heave as the shock threw it's rythum to the wind.

Holdesta fell into the sand her body limp. The attack was not planned, she felt it in her heart as her mind fell away from life...poor Odin he had not ment this...he would even take it back if he could. It had just happened. Holdesta forgave this and smiled inside at such a meaningless death...

Holdesta's body rose in the wirlwind sent by Saladin and was caught in the fire...oh it felt....good

no whispered a familiar voice you will not die today

holdesta's human side was confused suddenly called back from the brink. The Dragon's blood flowing in her veins had saved her before...as a baby, in battle and now.

The energy produced by Saladin the male true source Saidin was in line with the power of the dragon spirit which resided in this woman. The spirit was of the same line as Great One as it was his blood that ran in her veins, but this spirit was of its own. It carried with it the intentions and memories of all the dragons before her faithful companion. The white dragons had been a source of healing and knowlege for thousands of years...going back to the creation of the True Source.

As the fire passed over holdesta's body the blood in her veins took over more and more. The spirit absorbed the power flowing around it capturing the energy and fusing it with the distorted cells. The disruption was made whole, each one given back the order it required to sustain this body. Holdesta felt the familiar heat of her red level power as the dragon Spirit took her power of Light to cover and transform her body into that of a Light dragon...

Eyes opnening they began to glow a deep amber and finally flame red contrasting with the blue flame around her. The Dragon spirit in her was in control, the human side just barely hanging on to life. Great One had been watching from the shadows and roared his relief to see Holdesta's Dragon form begin to rise out of the swirling flame. He had seen her like this before and knew she was not in control...insted the Spirit of his ancestors who had taken her's as kindrid when she was a child was freely flowing through her healing and protecting her.

She will not die yet
the voice came from the now blazing red dragon streching it's wings. Holdesta was there inside this great translucent body that covered her like a costume. she was inside what looked like a great red glass creature but one that moved and breathed with life. It used it's powerful wings to raise it above the wind and over to Great One where it settled and faded back into the body of the girl.

In the stands Holdesta's heart began to beat and her breath came with a gasp as she began to cough. She sat up looking at her hands...everywhere hurting but healed enough to alow her to live but her cloths had been burned away completely.

OOC: You can't say that, either -- only Saladin can. >_> From what I see in his post, the flames originated from his body. In which case, the earthen dome wouldn't let it escape if it's surrounding him -- that's only as obvious as it seems. If it manifested -around- our characters instead, then I would understand. Or if those flames phase through solid objects, then I would understand. Or if by any other plausible means, I would understand. ^_^ As for you saying I can't say the flames are stopped, you're right. But I can -attempt- to do so through my character's actions. OOC: Ok, a quick overview on the basics of TB... Yes, we take turns in our posts to describe what ahppens. But, the posts are running in a certain time frame. For example, in a post I may throw a punch and say that it hit the opponent's face. (In closed style) Or that it would aim to hit the opponent's face. However, in the post to follow from my foe, he would be working in the same time frame, so would get the oppurtunity to block the punch and attempt a counter. So, Zeph, your post is valid, so the fires din't actually happen. So, if you feel a need, you can re-post Holdesta. Also, Saidin is the male half of the True Source. I will be homnest and say that it is in no way connected to Dragon souls, and I have more than likely put somewhere that it is unknown in the world where this fight is taking place, although I may be wrong in that, correct me if so. Saidin cannot be sensed by any but others who can channel it. I hope this clears up a few things.

Sato entered the arena and tilted her head back, breathing in deeply. The winds ducked low from the heavens, caressing her cheek with its touch. The breeze gamboled around her heels playfully, stirring the hem of her cloak as she stepped into the middle of the arena...

She could smell the power levels of those around her, sense their aura's, their essence. it made her want to shudder with the complexity of it all. He hands were jammed in her pockets as she stood there with her hood up and eyes closed...taking it all in, even mundane little detail.

She stepped towards him, wary to the bone but still keeping a friendly, jaunty manner, "Do you fancy a skirmish with one such as I? Such a beautiful afternoon, I'd like to live to see another...so i don't think a fight to the death is necessary..."
