Prizrak;
The Prizrak live in a land where the sun never quite rises fully. They've grown accustomed to the shadows and darkness that always lies in wait just beyond the outer walls of their cities. Even in the cities, where lanterns light the streets and the interiors of the buildings, the soft light of the flame casts a harsh glow over the inhabitants of Kosti, making everyone seem vaguely ghastly.
The cities themselves are typically built at the base of a mountain, as well as near a lake or waterfall, which serves as a cleaning station. Clothing, weapons, and anything else may be washed there, and it is also where the Prizrak bathe. Cities are circular in design and built with rough grey stone. The buildings are simplistic, meant only to serve their purpose. Buildings toward the outside of the city are long and curved, forming the exterior of the circle. These buildings are government owned and operated, and are usually places for worship, communal meeting houses, and school. This is also where Ohavnost living quarters are. However, they serve a dual-purpose. On top of these buildings are guard-posts, where soldiers are posted to keep watch for any potential attacks. This section of the city takes up, generally, two rings of the circle. Further in, the buildings, privately owned, are much smaller. This section contains shops and houses, and is typically three to four rings. In the center of the city lies the market, where weapons, art, textiles, and more may be bought.
Traditional Prizrak clothing is made from fibers extracted from leaves and woven by a tailor into either tunics or skirts and loose-fitting shirts. Dyes, extracted from plants, are used to dye the clothing an ashen gray, though much more colorful clothing is worn during festivals or other celebrations.
Unlike the Andele, all Prizrak are raised to be warriors, though not all join the formal military. Those who do attend schooling specifically for soldiers, which is held outside the city walls. Strategy-wise, the Prizrak are more disorganized than their Andele enemies, though they are no less efficient. Although they do not fight in strict formation, neither do the soldiers trip each other up, rather, they work in tandem exceptionally well. They use a Guerilla method of fighting, preferring to remain unseen until they decide to attack, often laying traps as well. They battle with axes, spears, lances, and javelins wrought from volcanic rock, which is just as strong and wickedly sharp as Andele steel. Their troops also include archers. Armor is crafted from the pelt of the Tvrdý, an indigenous beast whose tough skin is resilient enough to withstand the harshest of blows, and is padded with an extra thick unwoven fiber. The pelt of the Tvrdý also provides camoflouge, as it is colored darkly enough to blend into the forest. Unfortunately, for the shape-shifting Prizrak, this often means that when they return from their animal form to retrieve their clothing, their armor is notoriously difficult to relocate.
As protectors of Kosti, Prizrak soldiers are highly respected, but even they bow their heads to herbalists. Kosti herbalists are masters of nature, can name any number of plants by sight alone. They are healers traditionally, though they also craft poison and any number of miscellaneous products, including soap bars for the Prizrak to bathe. Prizrak have naturally good immune systems, but herbalists keep even the worst of illnesses at bay, and have saved hundreds of battle-wounded soldiers.
Other professions include: tailors, hunters, jewellers, artists, instructors, pelt tanners, and others.
