There's nothing wrong with how you're portraying her or that she's in the story at all; I was simply commenting that I don't feel like she deserves to be a bitch. Wasn't trying to start any kind of debate about it :)

Anyway you're describing more and more as playing into Klethi's meddlesome hands. She wants to decide her own fate, right? Isn't asking the goddess of fates who doesn't give a damn about Lycaon's regard for her the perfect last resort to accomplishing that? I vote Klethi frees her from any level of obligation but in exchange she has to fuck Fenris. And it has to be graphic and at least three posts. And Borne can watch.
Do you feel like you're a bad writer? PM me, and let's talk about it. :)

Or switch over to worshiping Karvana that would piss her father off. She judges based on accolades/sacrifices and rewards and punishes accordingly. No free handouts with the Mother. You earn your rewards, claw your way to immortality, or you die forgotten in a ditch. I would say she would flourish in the Mother's Embrace.

I actually thought about having her work with Karvana or at least alongside with an exalted. I partially based her fighting skills to be capable of equalling one of the main 3 in battle. At the time being she wants to be independent of all the gods and be master of her own fate. But as time goes on she may keep her option regarding the Mother open. She does have a little too much pride to kneel to Klethi and have sex with Fenris unless they grow closer on the adventure or unless she wants to piss Lycaon off really bad.

It would piss of Lycaon sooooooooo bad, right?

Anyway, I was joking about the sex thing. Mostly. Klethi likes simple joys, like pissing off other gods. She feels pretty confidant in her ability to not be killed (or worse?) so she wouldn't require/expect Nymeria to bow to her in any way. Klethi prefers the long con regardless, so if Nymeria did something to further Klethi's goals, it wouldn't be intentional or even known until it's too late (unless Klethi gets too excited and blurts the plot twist, as she's done already and will do again)

Anyway *rolls eyes* yeah yeah "The Mother" this "The Mother" that. Wanker wannabe. more like "the loser" amiright?

Anyone?

Anyone?

*looks for hi-fives*

No need to be jealous of the glory and awesomenessnessnessnessness of the Mother.

@Valerian: Ohohoho, seems I will have to have her watch the demi-goddess closer as well (not that she hadn't been already).

EDIT: It isn't that Fenris, himself, smells bad. It is a racial trait of goblins to find the natural pheromones given off by elves to be rather atrocious. Karvana isn't fond of elves, as a whole, and considers them lesser to her own creations, so you can almost think of that as a joke she embedded into their nature to ensure the dislike of the elves would be an instinctual part of their being.

Not like Skarruk smells very good. Goblins tend to have poor hygiene.

Yeah, Winston is fully aware at this point on how the group smells, consider it a habit from the non-human side of him. Lets just say that one in particular is especially distinct. :p

As for Mother, well, lets just say he holds no value for a maternal figure such as hers. But he does want to put on a good show, regardless.

Honor and arrogance are two sides of the same coin. We don't need standards like "honor," we just need mutual respect, and to do right by ourselves, as well as others.

Tau you don't have to justify why you're racist. I get it: You don't like elves. Some people are just plain intolerant.

No but seriously every god with human flaws has races they don't like.

Also, ugh. I want to post but I feel bad for Mr. Sol and funsunfish.

He knows of her through her track record, she doesn't seem to care what lives or dies as long as it is entertaining. He doesn't like that prospect very much. Or the fact of sitting off on their own having everyone do the work for them. To him the only good thing that ever came from Karvana was a parent, who was killed.

So... yeah, he doesn't hold anything without reason.

She is a pretentious bitch, though.

@Martin: Of course. Why should she do it for them? Hold the hands of her followers as they lean on her and become weak? If they die then they were simply not strong enough and only have themselves to blame. Those that prove their worth and strength shall prosper under her watch. Survival of the fittest, while she will often arrange for challenges, it is their task to overcome them. They work and struggle on the quest for immorality and power, she gets to enjoy their efforts. Both strive for what they desire, why should she be any different?

Borne should be able to understand that. ^_-

Unless you are referring to Serena's position, in which case, yes, she is just lazy and doesn't like going to the mortal realms and so has her Exalted do that for her. Not that Serena couldn't just say no, she could.

@May: Which is why she should come over to Karvana. She belongs with the Mother.

Tis her destiny.

Of course he understands survival, but the lack of any greater aspirations or cohesiveness that leads them to being little more than a disharmonious group of Neanderthals clubbing at each other has put a damper on any thoughts of joining the horde. He thinks he could do better, make better.

Lord Borne... hm...

Very true, most beastmen care only for themselves and their own advancement. Only the powerful can rally various tribes together, and hold them together, and even then, they do so for their own goals and desires such as what Serena did. Rallied numerous tribes, turned them into a cohesive force, but it was for her own apparitions and goals.

No one follows Karvana to be a part of the 'horde'. They join her to become... something else. To become special, to gain something they covet. Generally, it is more of a selfish desire to become greater than whatever they believe themselves to be then a desire to be a part of the 'mindless neanderthal rabble'.

After all:

"Though the gates that stand between the mortal world and the immortal Aether are now closed to me, still I would rather die having glimpsed eternity than never to have stirred from the cold furrow of mortal life. I embrace death without regret as I have embraced life without fear." - Shamelessly borrowed from the Codex Imperialis and altered to better fit the situation and describe the pursuits of the followers of Karvana.

They join her because they're a bunch of aimless twats who want to rebel against their various cultures for the same reason teenagers do: Immaturity.

At least the followers of Klethi knowingly embrace a religion of hedonism and debauchery with a studied and planned disregard for their own well beings.

They all have aims.. kinda the point of worshiping her, to follow those aims and goals. Although, I suppose, if your aims and goals weren't the same, you could always call it immature to chase the dreams others do not have. Suppose it is the same as calling the struggling waitress trying to be an actress immature.

A religion destined to leave them as nameless corpses in the ditches. I suppose that is good for people who are 'in the now' and have no interest in things greater than what they are. Can't fault them for that, taking comfort in the familiar, in the pleasure, because extending their hands to the heavens in the pursuit of more is troublesome and immature.

Either seeking goals like some figure even vaguely cares about them but may as well not exist in their lives or intentionally aimlessly spiraling into destruction... huh.

Well, at least somebody cares for those that die. Not like... uh... it is good to seek to die...

Well it's not like The Mother is actually a god.

You sacrilegious pretender. Continue to pray and beg favors from your false deity. While you may be rewarded for blind faith, you will not receive the gifts of a god.

You better hope for her sake The Mother isn't too proud of calling herself a goddess; nothing will shake Fenris's atheism.

Hazarmaveth rather be on even terms with people anyways. He isn't confident enough to be prideful.

If it wasn't for his age he'd probably have been as clumsy and lost as Fenris with all this.

@Martin: Please, as if anyone would notice if this 'somebody that cares' even shows up to parties.

:P

@May: Obviously praying to her isn't going to get gifts from a god. She isn't a god. She is a goddess and don't you forget it.

Karvana has zero interest in Fenris.
