Permission to Come Aboard?

Hi. I go by the moniker Tarien. I'm a long-time (30+ years) player/GM/DM/Keeper (the titles keep going and going...) and just happened to stumble across this site in my search for a little extra gaming on the side. I have a voracious appetite for all things fantasy and sci-fi. My background is primarily D&D, though I am looking to expand into PbtA.

Welcome to Roleplay Gateway! Hope you find what you're looking for. There is not nearly as much activity nowadays as there used to be, unfortunately, but there's still lots to do here. I post occasionally, not as often as I used to post. Now I spend a lot of time posting music, memes and ranting in chat about this, that and nothing in particular. There have been some issues with the site in recent years, and many of the original RPers have moved away. Most of us who are left have full-time jobs, some have families, and very little time to interact. I'm only here because I don't have Facebook and try my best to avoid social media. Most others are probably playing video games, talking about politics or going to school to learn webpages. But every once in a while, there will be a get together and occasionally you can find some pretty good RP stories and collaborations. Like every site, this one is also occasionally targeted by scammers, bots and exploiting/loitering ads for this or that. Those of us who are diehard and long-term writers often interact in the Multiverse and its many user-owned realms, galaxies and universes. I'd say 90% of us use turn-based, freeform RP posting styles, but some players use dice or other more strict RP mechanics. Welcome aboard.
