Points Of Interest!

Welcome all!

On this page I am going to detail a bunch of ideas for locations, people of interest, festivals and other cultural events, etc to hopefully add to the immersion of the world.

This will include events happening in other nations which may have consequences in Veilbrand, or which may be events we get to live through providing there's a reason for the Revolution to send some people (like us) out searching for outside help from anyone who'll sympathize.

If Veilbrand's population is too scared to fight, then what harm can it do to look elsewhere, right?

Also, I will be updating this post regularly as I come up with more ideas. So keep an eye out on the “UPDATE” shown below as well as the date, as it will change with these additions along with providing a short description of what’s been added so you can easily find it.

People/Groups of Interest

* Josephine Dezantro – The (currently) unofficial Queen-In-Waiting hand-picked by the current Queen to succeed her upon finding a viable marriage partner. The fact of her selection has been kept an incredibly well-guarded secret.

* Herold Miils and Theresa Miils – A high-pedigree noble couple in Triveila who currently spearhead the movement for a change of rulership given the King’s ailing state. And there’s something off about them…

Important Locations

* Lemnia’s Point – The point of the nation’s founding where the first settlers landed following the migration from Mar’ Valoa. According to historical records “Lemnia” is the name of the daughter of the continent’s founder, Cretas Estallamos. Though few records of the voyage still exist, a few select passages suggest that Lemnia was tragically lost at sea during a horrific storm near the end of the voyage. Her mother named their landing point after her as a way to ensure her memory would never be forgotten.

Cultural Events and Dates

* Heritage Festival - 18th Day, 2nd Laetal Moon

- A day for all Triveilans (and even outsiders who are present) to celebrate their heritage by wearing traditional clothing appropriate to said heritage, as well as enjoying various activities such as dancing, singing, enjoying traditional foods, and much, much more. The night concludes with a colorful display of fireworks.

* Cultural Exchange - 30th Day, 1st Sohtal Moon

- A day set aside to recognize and appreciate the culture of others. Exchanges of food, jewelry, clothing, and more are offered between families as well as enjoying dinners at their homes. It’s a relaxed event and has no specific “end” point. It’s understood that once you’ve had your fill of the exchange you’re free to go home and call it a day.

Possible RP Events

* The Transition of Power – Josephine Dezantro, first daughter of the Dezantro family, is being groomed by the current Queen to become her successor. The date for this event is yet to be set, as there is still the matter of the nobility’s aggressive pushes to install the Miils family as the next King and Queen. Until the Queen can settle this matter and complete Josephine’s preparations to succeed her, this transition cannot take place.

* Political Uprising – A potential worst-case scenario which could play out depending on what we all agree would be the most fun. It would revolve around the nobility rallying their followers to stage a Coup against the current Queen and attempt to overthrow her by force to instill Miils and his wife as the next ruling pair. Josephine would become an assassination target, as well as the current Royal Family. Everything would be staged to look like convenient accidents leaving little to no room for anyone to question the legitimacy of the power transfer.



People/Groups of Interest

* The “Angel” of Cre’ Est, Doctor Linde Xe’ Almna – With low-income friendly prices and an anti-discrimination policy covering all ethnic and cultural backgrounds as well as sexual orientations, the “Angel” of Cre’ Est more than earns her reputation based on these policies alone given how expensive medical care can be in Cre’ Est. As well, she has personally designed numerous medical brews, salves, sedatives, and experimental (and highly successful) surgical practices not used by the majority of her peers.

To top it off she’s arguably the most compassionate and empathetic woman living in Valkyom. And her physical beauty doesn’t hurt either. At 24 years old with a slender (though athletic) build with curves in all the right places, she’s also a highly sought after marriage candidate for the commonwealth and nobility alike.

* Csargil Virmonte – A high-pedigree noble with shady connections and even shadier policy decisions within the Cre’ Itian Senate. Even his fellow Senators don’t seem to enjoy his presence, but there’s little they can do about it given who some of his connections are.

Important Locations

* Peur’Tia’s Central Church – The largest church in the nation, smack dead center in the capital city of Valkyom. It has approximately 2,000 seats, beautiful stained glass windows which are over 20 feet high, and doubles as a theater space for indoor performances.

* The Almna Apothecary And Clinic – Located near the West Gate of Valkyom and being both owned and managed by Doctor Almna, it’s both a major medical establishment and a tourist attraction (though tourists are required to remain outside if they’ve no official medically related business).

Cultural Events and Dates

* Peur’Tia’s Hymn, 15th Day, 1st Ertal Moon

- A day set aside for prayer and song for the Mother Eternal. A special hymn reserved only for this date is also sung at the end of the day as the sun sets, and is timed to end exactly as the sun fully disappears beyond the horizon.

Possible RP Events

* Potential Recruitment of Doctor Almna

- The Maiden of Revolution is currently using Scouts and plants (pretending to be clients) to investigate Doctor Almna and ascertain whether or not she’d be a viable option for recruitment.



People/Groups of Interest

* Maiden of Revolution – The enigmatic and rarely seen in public leader of the Revolution. Rumor is that she only ever sees and/or speaks to the highest ranking members of the Revolution such as Shor and the Generals which is why so few other people have ever been able to lay eyes on her. You always know which tent is hers in any given camp that she’s visiting.

* The Hand

- The Hand is a 5-point split in the middle-most extension, or "Arm," of the mountains in Veilbrand. At the dead center of what would be the “palm” is supposedly a mountain spring more beautiful than any forest or oasis in the rest of the continent. But this is yet to ever be confirmed.

- The rise of Egruus has completely destroyed the integrity and meaning behind the cultural events of the nation. And thus they’ve fallen by the wayside. People remember the days and events, but they no longer actively celebrate as they used to.

Possible RP Events

* Meet The Maiden

- Meeting the Maiden of Revolution is possible for anyone participating. However, gaining an audience with her will require a lot of work. She doesn’t just see anyone because they come calling with “urgent news” or whatnot. You have to earn the audience. If you haven’t made a significant name for yourself in one way or another within the revolution, you won’t be seeing her.

* Revolution Missions

- The Revolution has “Official” and “Unofficial” missions. The Official ones are the large-scale operations which are spearheaded by the Maiden herself. Unofficial missions are those which are undertaken by the forces of the Revolution on their own volition. Usually the Generals still have some involvement. But not always.



People/Groups of Interest

* Awakened Sins – A group of mercenaries which operate separately of any known Guild in the nation of Shaharan, and who employ unusually brutal methods of disposing of their victims. Though not well liked, they are well-known and, to a lesser extent, respected for their efficiency (for better or worse).

Important Locations

* Galoan Oasis – A “hidden” oasis in the desert which view have ever found. Supposedly, it lies somewhere in the Northeast region of the vast deserts and canyons covering the landscape. Those who claim to have found it said they found enlightenment and have begun leading lives of inner peace and a new sense for symbiosis with nature in all its forms.

Cultural Events and Dates

* Inter-Clan Trials, 20th Day, 3rd Sohtal Moon – A day for Clans to come together and enjoy friendly competition for prizes such as bragging rights, specially made jewelry or tattoos, the right to bed a willing opponent of the opposite sex, and more.

Possible RP Events

* Discovery of Buried Ancient Temples

- Shaharan’s deserts hide many secrets. Among them are a series of ancient temples long since lost to the world since far before the time of Cretas Estallamos’ “discovery” of this land. The temples house secrets of their own, including a potentially dangerous adventure in a world most alien to what Shaharan currently understands.

(Egruus is a sucker for a good "discovery," so he may get distracted by something like this at some point.)

Important Locations

* Kellor Manor – An ancient mansion which had burned down over 1,200 years ago but was rebuilt and has since withstood the test of time. It’s Gweynura’s oldest building.

* Ythen Library – The largest and most comprehensive library in Gwenyura with over 1 million books on its shelves. It’s located in the city of Ythen, right on the border between Gweynura and Shaharan against the mountains not far from the Central Mountain Pass.

Cultural Events and Dates

* Songstress’ Lament, 3rd Day, 1st Laetal Moon – Songstresses from around the five nations come to Gweynura on this special day to enjoy the sharing of traditional and original songs in their repertoire. They also come together to enjoy large choral works performed in numerous theaters and outdoor venues to crowds of thousands.

* Battles Against Egruus

- Gweynura’s relationship with Veilbrand is incredibly strained, and can/will lead to numerous skirmishes at the Southern Mountain Pass which links the two. Will you be present for one or more of them?
