Pumpkin Carving

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Modesty on Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:12 pm

Well folks, it’s that time of year again! So lets do some art on a "squashier" medium.

I currently have three lovely pumpkins sitting on my porch just waiting to be butchered. While I was sighing, procrastinating the loathed task of disemboweling them, I was contemplating what I’d be carving this year. Did I want to do classic jack-o-lanterns, something pop-culutre related, or something completely original? And then I started to wonder what other people would be doing this year, how talented people were and really wanting to see some true masterpieces! And then I thought, “Wait a sec, RPG is loaded with tons of creative and talented people, I wonder what they are carving this year!?”.

So here I am, RPG, wondering what you’ve all created. I’ll be carving mine tomorrow and Saturday, and will be posting pictures up promptly. Let’s show a little Halloween spirit and showcase some of artistic talent. I don’t care if you use stencils, because honestly… even if they grew with stencils on them, it’s the cutting and shaping that makes it difficult! Feel free to post multiple pumpkins, but make sure that they’re forum sized or a link to the larger image, and make sure they are your own!

“But wait Mod,” you say, “I need some inspiration!” No worries, here are some pretty amazing ones I’ve found through google. I can’t stress enough that these aren’t mine, though I wistfully wish I were so talented!

So there you have it! Now let's see your work! :)

Oh man. Carving pumpkins, two years straight has pretty much made me decide to sit this year out.

However, those images are remarkable. I mean, just the curves themselves, I had a hard time just trying to cut a straight line. Lol.

Number four gave me a chuckle, because it reminded me of another pumpkin I stumbled upon.

I'm pretty sure those pumpkins are still partying from the Olympics. They, like me, will be sitting out this year.
Like a stranger on a grate, or a skylark, or a taper, flying ever upward and knowing of love's satiety. Our dreams beyond the Sun and into the expanse of Night doth sound a quiet hymn.

Well, VindicatedPurpose. You so happen to of found a pumpkin that took a few too many drinks. xD Gave me a bit of a laugh.

Very cool and menacing pumpkin your brother created, Akita. c:

*Rolls on the floor laughing* I've actually know the artist who did the two drunk pumpkins lol. Can't think of his name though but he was featured on the Travel Channel when they were doing Halloween specials lol.
