Tips: 0.00 INK Postby LordSaladin on Wed Apr 04, 2007 3:48 am

Find information here about the races allowed on the world of Kelante. I would appreciate it if you were to keep to these races, however, should you wish to add a race to this list, do not hesitate to contact me via PM or chat and we can discuss.

Thanks guys.

Saladin

OVERVIEW

Each of the tribes that existed before the land was known as Kelante consisted of different races. As the tribes merged into one, many new races were created. However, over the many millenia, certain races slowly died out. Only a few now are left, here is a quick list of those surviving races:

Humans

Born Warriors

Born Sorcerers

Sanguinariuns

Wolves

Elves

Eternal Children

Talonians

Waifs

Homeless

HUMANS

The main populous of the Kelantan Civilians, they have an average appearance, in terms of height and build. Humans come in a variety of skin colours and pigments of eyes and hair.

Although not gifted with the ways of magic, many have learnt to wield the weapons of the Warrior, and some have even found their way into that most military of Guilds.

Gifted with intelligence, they form the scholarly of Kelante, keeping the records which hold the history and laws of the world.

Generally, however, they tend to be very normal, decidedly average. However, they are held in a certain level of respect due to their intelligence, they take the tasks needed to ensure Kelante exists smoothly, that of Blacksmiths and Farriers. Many also are masters of Archery, and help to defend against the Homeless.

BORN WARRIORS

Those born with the Warrior within them are a tall, strong, heavily muscle bound people. Generally they have blond hair, their eyes either blue or green.

Strong beyond belief, they have a natural talent in using heavy broadswords and battle-axes. And they use thier big bodies as weapons just as effectively.

They aren't the most intelligent of humans, but are basically that race, if not for the great height and muscle mass.

Seen in most parts, they take care of their responsibilities with the military precision they have always lived with, working efficiently.

BORN SORCERERS

Obviously covering both males and females, this race is the evolution of many centuries of members of the Sorcerer's Guild keeping themselves hidden.

Born with the ability to wield magic of many kinds, they are all rather short and have short hair, men and women both, tending to shave fully their heads.

Their lavel of magic is very high, and all holds the power of healing, and are born with an elemental source living in them. Some may even be born with more than one.

They are seen in most places as they run the things they are chosen to, in regards to governing the land.

SANGUINARIANS

Sanguinariuns are rarely seen and tend to venture out only at night. They are tall and slim, their skin pale, and lips grey. In general they wear all black. Their hair long and smooth, and either black or silver, generally.

The Sanguinariuns are a race of people who have a physical need to feed on the life force of other living things, making them weak, and occasionally killing them.

Not bearing any particular abilities apart from the one mentioned above, they are decidedly average, although a lot of Saguinariuns seem to be skilled in fighting with a rapier.

WOLVES

Although they are somewhat a widespread race, Wolves are sometimes hard to identify. This is mainly because they tend to look just like normal Humans. Their skin appears tanned and their eyes are generally a bright hue.

One of the more ancient races, they are wise and have a huge amount of knowledge. They can turn into the form of a wolf at a moment's notice and in that form still retain the normal thoughts of a person.

Whether in the form of a human or a wolf, they possess great speed and agility, nearly rivaling that of the Homeless. They are fierce fighters and hold no allegiance except to those of their own, although they manage to integrate into normal society quite well.

Rumour has said that Wolves eat the flesh of Humans in both their forms, although this has yet to be verified.

ELVES

The Elven race, renowned craftsman, they are almost as common as Humans. Tall and graceful, their long smooth hair of varying hues, tending to remain on the lighter side, always grown down their backs, sometimes it has been seen an Elf with hair to his or her ankles.

Elves generally are seen in Smithies, making various weapons and shodding horses, their calm nature making them perfect to work with the horses that form the main mode of transport for the people of Kelante.

Possessing a very small grasp of healing magic only, their major abilities are their great agility and lightness of foot. It was once written an Elf could jump off a building, landing their feet in a drift of snow, and barely a foot print was made.

It is more than likely true.

ETERNAL CHILDREN

Seen in all places of Kelante, these strange creatures keep the appearance of children, although they tend to live many hundreds of years. The Eternal Children are exactly that, never maturing physically beyond that of a six or seven year old.

However, their appearance can be deceiving, as they grow quickly in regards to maturity and wisdom. And many are seen as the individual rulers of towns and villages, because of this fact.

Retaining a certain child-like innocence, they tend to deal justice very well, and speak their hearts with no shame. Therefore they are the most trusted of all races in Kelante.

TALONIANS

The talonions are a strong race of feathered, bird like creatures, seen mainly in the halls of the two Guilds. Taken in by them as scribes and Keepers of Records. Their tall, feathered bodies discovered in many hues and shades. Their beaked faces made them somewhat of an enigma to the general populous.

Taken in by the Guilds due to their great sense of honour, and intelligence nearing that of the Humans, they serve their masters well.

Having nothing in terms of specific abilities, they are only noted by the fact they keep each Guild running smoothly in their roles as scribes and Keepers of Records.

WAIFS

A rare sight among the people, Waifs tend to keep to themselves, it is rumoured that no more than a thousand still live. They are a pale people, all pigment seemingly removed from their bodies, pure white skin and hair and eyes. Due to their small numbers and lack of integration into the rest of society, they are very slim, seemingly not much more than skin covered skeletons.

However, despite their lack of physical strength, they are able to shift into spirit like beings, allowing them to walks through walls. They also grasp a small amount of Magical prowess, and a few have entered the Guild of Sorcerers.

They remain a mystery to most of the populous and a re generally the subject of many a mother's horror stories, designed to scare naughty children.

As rare as they are seen, it is generally considered unlucky to be in the eye line of one of these creatures

HOMELESS

Those who separated from the rest of the populous, in refusal to be ruled by the tribe of Kelante. They are many in numbers, and are oft seen attacking the small villages in Kelante. They are of a slightly sub average height, their skins dark in colour, tending to be very slim.

They are known for amazing speed and agility, and seem to have the ability to disappear as soon as they turn a corner, although this may not be a specific ability. It may be a result of their speed and agility.

Generally despised and hated by the rest of the people living in the world, they live dangerous lives, forever running the risk of the Warriors, and more fatally, the Guardians.
