It had been quite possibly the longest night at work ever for Spencer, or at least it seemed that way. It had been her night to work the emergency room at the hospital she worked at, and what a night it had been. Every time she turned around someone new was walking through the doors with some sort of trauma. Her usual twelve hour shift had turned into an excruciatingly long sixteen hour shift, and she still had school in the morning! Finally she watched the clock hit 4 a.m. and the next nurse came to relieve her. "Good luck, it's been a rough one." Spencer told the next nurse as she was walking off. The nurse just looked at her and sighed. Spencer headed to the break room to grab her coat and went out the doors to her car. The night air felt nice and the fresh air was much needed.

When she finally arrived home she was greeted by her small dog, of whom she quickly took outdoors for her nightly walk. After she finished with the dog she popped some bread in the toaster, buttered it once it came out and retreated to the couch to find something on the television while she wound down for the night. Her class the next day wasn't until noon and she was off work the next night, thankfully. Nursing had its ups and downs, but she couldn't really complain too much about her job, it kept her busy. After settling on some old cartoons she had ran across Spencer quickly fell asleep on the couch.

Around 6 a.m. she woke and made her way to the bathroom to brush her teeth and change, then took herself to bed. She tossed and turned for a bit and finally drifted off to sleep, awakening only once throughout the night after a weird dream she vaguely remembered. Before she knew it sun was glaring through her curtains and straight into her eyes. She have a small groan and rolled over before opening her eyes to check her clock. 1 p.m!!! "Shit!" she cursed under her breath and jumped out of bed. Her dog gave a small bark at her and she shushed her. Anytime you were late for class you were supposed to call in, so Spencer grabbed her phone and called telling them some excuse other than sleeping over. "I can't believe I over slept...at least it wasn't a test day." She was half speaking to her dog who had now cocked her head to the side and stared at her. "Alright, alright, let's go out then."

Her dog did not want to cooperate that afternoon and took forever outside. Spencer finally got back inside and went to shower and get ready for the day. She was unsure of what she would be doing today since she had missed her only class for the day and had the rest of the night off. When she finished in the shower she wrapped a towel around herself and one around her hair and went into her room to lay out her clothes, flipping through channels on the television. As she was flipping through she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the blackness of the TV and kept flipping, noticing something looked odd. Maybe she was still really tired. She took her hair out of her towel and gave it a quick towel dry before heading back into the bathroom to brush it out and dry it.

That was when she noticed, and that was when she screamed...

She was...young! A good ten years younger than she should be. She wiped more steam off the mirror and stood, staring at herself. Her once auburn hair was now long and brown, her eyes had a gleam to them and...she opened her towel and looked in the mirror...everything was...perky! Her brow furrowed and she shook her head. She was sure she had to be dreaming and began to poke and pinch herself. Nope, nothing. As she walked back into her room she caught her dog staring at her again. "I know, this must be confusing for you too. It's me though, I just look...different."

None of her clothes fit properly anymore, she lacked the hips she once had. "Well, this won't do." She grabbed her purse and headed out the door to do some shopping and try to figure out what had happened to her while she slept. After all, surely there was an explanation. Right?
