Meirin is the Pirate King's second in command. She serves as his trusted officer for whatever they might end up doing. When he isn't around, she's usually trusted to be in command.
Gᴇᴀʀ:
Meirin has quite a few things that belong to her on the ship. Naturally, as the second in command, she would be suited for battle and is armed with a decent arsenal consisting of a revolver with a good store of ammunition, and a dagger attached to a chain she could conceal inside of her sleeve, both to protect herself and her fellow sailors. She also has basic medical supplies to act as a field medic just in case anyone were to get hurt. Along with that she has several changes of clothes, her uniform typically being her black dress for ease of flight and movement. Lastly she has a gun with barrels that can rotate, each barrel armed with a different color flare to fire. Each color acts as a signal.
Hɪsᴛᴏʀʏ: North in the Arctic there exists a Monarchy of Harpies that live in a relatively structured existence. The Varsuvia family were the reigning ones and they were the royals of this land. The Kingdom of Mithras it was called, and they were cruel and tyrannical over their citizens. The old King Medius Varsuvia had two children, each of them from a different mother. The younger was his daughter, Princess Meirin Varsuvia. She was a gentle sort, kind yet protective, willing to sacrifice herself to save those around her. Her mother wanted her to take the crown of course, because whichever mother's child took the name of Heir would become Official Queen. Meirin was always in conflict with her brother, Tarun, as a result of the politics surrounding them. In the end, the King was mysteriously killed as were the mothers and both of the children were taken by the peasants, kidnapping them separately and feeding them lies that the other royal child was the one who hired them to assassinate the royal family. Meirin was tortured and cut apart for more years than she could count until someone came across her, a certain captain of a certain Pirate Ship. With much training and work, Rin and her brother, Run, were put to work on the ship, competing for the promotion to second in command. Rin was able to work harder and show more talent however, earning the spot. Little did she know her half brother would then escape the ship, going to who knows where? Even now, Meirin isn't sure if she wants to see the last of her family again.
Wᴇᴀᴋɴᴇssᴇs:
☙Nightmares❧- Every night, Meirin remembers the torture and relives her time there. She occasionally wakes up screaming.
☙Selfless❧- Meirin devotes so much to trying to help those around her that she burns herself out and doesn't try to help herself.
☙Sheltered❧- As the Lost Princess of Mithras she's still relatively ignorant of how certain things work, such as more adult intimate activities.
Sᴛʀᴇɴɢᴛʜs:
☙Devotion❧- Meirin is able to utterly devote her entire self to others.
☙Thoughtful❧- She tries her best to consider how those around her feels before doing something.
☙Fighting❧- She was trained in combat as a Princess and never forgot her lessons, both hand to hand and with weapons. She was further trained by her Captain.
Qᴜɪʀᴋs:
☙Wings❧- All harpies can summon two large wings on their backs with which they can fly.
☙Black Ribbon❧- A keepsake of her mother's, she always has it on her head.
☙Plural First Person❧- Meirin sometimes slips back into her old habits of using 'We' for 'I'.
Bᴇʟɪᴇꜰs: Meirin wants to find her brother and punish him for what he did to the Royal Family. In terms of religion, Rin believes in Naga, the Goddess of Mercy, represented by a turquoise stone shaped like a dragon tooth as her religious symbol. Naga believes in mercy in all kinds, whether it be mercy to spare an enemy, or mercy to kill someone if they're in pain. Every morning she whispers to her Mother in hopes that up in Heaven or wherever the dead go, she can hear her.
