Description
Age: 18
Race: Aether Creature
Gender: Female
Height: 5ft
Weight: 115lbs
God(s): Shows belief in an abstract form of transentience that exists in all living beings as a collective.
Appearance:
While her body appears humanoid in nature, she possesses several physical anomalies, most prominent are the existence of ten tentacles, four from the back of her head, and six from her back, two of which are very long and have large almost hand-like broad pads at the end.
Her face has soft features, a round dark nose and round cheeks, her face overall pale, practically white while the rest of her is gray. She possesses discolored splotches upon each cheek giving some impression of freckles, and by her eyes resembling eyebrows. Her lips are black, some. Hair atop her head is black, and is fairly short. She has blue eyes and black sclera, the pupils of which are vertically aligned, shaped like an 'S' when relaxed, and an eight when attentive.
Hands lack nails, three long fingers and an extended thumb on each hand, her feet also lack nails, are three toes and an additional auxiliary toe near the heel that props the foot up.
History:
[Mostly up for discussion, especially regarding how was raised/who raised her. In fact, all details are up for adjustment if needed.]
While the exact details of her conception remain dubious at best, she has otherwise developed in a way not too dissimilar to other sapient lifeforms, if not greatly accelerated in some faculties, yet lacking in others. Her initial stage in life were misconstrued as simply animalistic, especially given the simplicity of her form at the time, until displaying traits of advanced problem solving which proved it was simply infancy. Her form over time became more complex, adapting a morphology comparable to her keepers as some form of advanced mimicry based upon observed constants among them. Speech soon followed, understanding of language rapidly advancing, signs of a prodigy, at least, if she had others of her kind to compare to.
It would not be until later that another "gift" she had would crop up, when she was given a pet to care for in an effort to gauge her capacity for empathy. While at first it seemed promising, even naming it "Skitters" due to the way it moved, the first instance of the animal biting her turned immediately tragic as the animal was crushed by her tentacles as a defensive reaction. At this point she was no longer agitated about being bitten, but instead because she had been introduced to a new concept, "death," placing her in an unapproachable state as she attempted to resuscitate the animal despite efforts to calm her and explain why it would not work. However, something foreign, miraculous, and horrific occurred, something imparted from Bashemath into the animal, and the creature convulsed, its crushed body began to realign itself. A hush went around as the animal got back onto its feet, once again living, yet changed. Along its back it had black tendrils, and its blood had been converted into a foreign black fluid almost identical to what is inside Bashemath.
Personality:
Clearly intelligent, she shows an advanced level of understanding and empathy with other sentient lifeforms, and an overriding concern for well-being, yet little for her own. Her eyes visibly jitter often, almost always observing, near obsessively studying people at all times. While sometimes construed as creepy, she shows a deep altruistic nature and a quickness to attach emotional value that is highly unusual in normal sapient life. She also shows a lacking capacity for deception, in a way it seems that she cannot understand the concept, or purpose, of lying, but will state untrue statements if she herself believes them to be true.
She shows various emotional complexes, including the inability to handle loss, isolation, and concepts of inequity. In the case of the former, like her reaction with the death of her pet, she shows even greater negative response towards the idea of the death of people, especially those she has been acquainted to. In the case of isolation, if left to her own for too long without stimulation through means of music or other entertainment, she becomes increasingly agitated. These factors seem linked to a deeply rooted phobia, possibly even inherited as some advanced form of "genetic memory."
Other:
Those reanimated do not resume their prior lives exactly, but instead act as networked avatars of Bashemath herself. They may exhibit some replicated quirks, and the body considered fully alive, ultimately they are shells that she controls, and as such, the original occupant will still be considered deceased. Some anomalies exist, however, when dealing with life that is not normally sapient, where the reanimated creature attains independent motivations and will not obey Bashemath absolutely, sometimes even becoming dangerous as a result.
