It was a bright sunny day at the Lockhart's castle. As usual Edwin was walking around the castle, fixing every little detail to be absolutely perfect. He checked the clocks around him. "6:10.." Edwin said to himself as he headed up the extraordinary flight of stairs. It was time for the kingdom's beloved princess to wake up. Edwin had already been awake for hours like always. The servants were all gradually waking up and going to their posts.

The kitchen staff was already almost done with breakfast as the maids were setting up the table. Everything was to be spick and span for the royal family. Edwin's foot steps were soft as he knocked once upon entering Alice's bedroom. He walked over to her bedside, and took a moment for himself as his eyes gazed at the beauty sleeping soundly. '....When did she become a woman?' Edwin thought to himself, remembering the young girl he met years ago.

The flowers around her accented the child's already present gorgeous appearance. His poor eyes had never seen such radiance as when he saw her. They were together ever since. And by together, it was as butler and princess, but they shared a bond that couldn't be ignored. One not of just friends, not just best friends, but even more.

Edwin snapped back into reality realizing he needed to keep the schedule. "Alessandra, It's time to wake up." His smooth voice resonated throughout the room. Edwin was always warm and kind to her. He always had a gentleness towards her that could never be given to anyone else. Edwin walked to the curtains and flung them open, allowing the light to enter the room. Even though Alice had told him millions upon billions of times to call her Alice, Edwin still stuck to her full name. Although he'd be lying if he said he'd never snuck in her nick name a few times. "Break fest will be starting soon. I'm sure your father and mother would like to see your face at the table." He assured walking around her room, making sure it was clean.

Alessandra, or Alice rather, had been having a wonderful rest with a wonderful dream attached to it. She had been laying in the garden gazebo, her head resting upon something warm. The scent of flowers swam around her, and beautiful music played in the distance. She looked up to realize her head had been resting in a person's lap... A man's lap. Edwin's lap. He sat perfectly, gazing down at the book in his hand, reading to her softly. It had been a wonderful dream, and she wished she hadn't needed to wake up. Of course, the life of a Princess was never easy or relaxing, and Alice was always busy.

"Alessandra, its time to wake up."

The deep voice stirred her from her rest as it always did. She was glad it was always him to wake her. He always brought the scent of fresh fruit and scones with him from being near the kitchens. It was refreshing. She slowly peeled her eyes open to see who she already knew was there. Edwin, her faithful butler. "Good morning." She murmured softly, like a mouse. Alice had always been soft spoken.

Slowly, the silver haired girl pushed herself up into a sitting position and rubbed her eyes tiredly. "Thank you for waking me. Not sure what I would do without you. You are like my personal alarm clock." She giggles tiredly and pushed her long hair away from her face and fixed her nightgown. Part of her just wanted to bury herself back into the fluffy pillows and blankets, but she knew that wasn't possible. There would be maids waiting for her in her bathroom and dressing room, preparing to make her look the part of a trie Princess.

Alice slowly ambled over to the window where Edwin resided, and looked outside with him. She would rather stay inside her room all day, or be out in the gardens. She tucked a few strands of her ruffled hair behind her ears. Today would be long, and probably chalked full of suitors. She wasn't sure how much more of this she could take.

Edwin couldn't take his eyes off the adorable sleepy princess. And his heart couldn't help but race as she approached him. If he could have it his way, this morning would be one after their honeymoon, they both wake up sleepy, but in love-'Whoa! Get ahold of yourself.' Edwin furrowed his eyebrows at his own wishful thinking.

He quickly blocked those thoughts out as he turned to Alice. "Although I may come in handy as an alarm clock, I do hope to see the day that you might be able to sleep in for once." Edwin said kindly. His hand reached to her, moving some more strands of her stunning long hair out of her petite face. His hand wondered to her cheek, cupping it before he suddenly walked away. 'That was close!...What's wrong with me..?' He thought rubbing his hands as he walked towards the door.

Edwin cleared his throat before speaking to the young lady. "Well your highness, You need to get dressed. I shall await here to escort you to break fest." He said clearly. Edwin stood at the doorway, waiting for her the maids to help her in the bathroom. Edwin didn't make eye contact as he felt somewhat distant. 'I need to start being more careful. I've had impulsive thoughts about the princess but I didn't know they'd be so intense. I need to watch myself. It could be great trouble if I ever acted on them.' His mind rambling on.

Edwin began making her bed. He figured it was something he could do to distract himself. He folded the blankets and fluffed the pillows, making sure it looked elegant and refined. The exact way a princesses room should look.

Alice smiled softly to herself when she felt the warm touch of his fingers moving hair away from her face. She turned to look up at him and say something, when his hand drifted down to caress her cheek. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw the deep look in his eyes. It was only there for a brief moment, and then it was gone as he was pulling himself away again. "Ed..." She whispered, but it fell on deaf ears as he was already busying himself with her bed and ushering her off to get ready. She sighed and smiled softly before going over to her lavish dressing room.

The women all came forward to greet her with nice words and smiles. She recognized few of the women; thus the life of a Princess. Servants would come and go like the seasons, only leaving her dazed in their wake. Even yet she still dedicated time to learning each of their names... Even if it ended up hurting more when she never saw them again. Alice smiled and nodded to them quietly, allowing them to take her to the bath where they stripped her and scrubbed her down gently. A part of this infuriated her. Was she not capable of doing this herself? Of course she couldn't be mad at the maids, it was their job and they were following orders. She couldn't blame her father, he was just trying to keep her looking her best. So Alice just went with the treatment.

After being washed and perfumed she was dressed in a beautiful blue gown. Alice resisted hissing in pain as the corset was weaved around her middle, and instead closed her eyes and bared the pain. She was then sat in front of the mirror, the women all saying pretty lies of how beautiful she was, how she must be the prettiest woman alive, that she would make a man very happy one day. She just bit her tongue and smiled. She didn't want to treat these women badly.

When they finished with light makeup and pinning her silver hair back into the usual braided half-up-do, she came back out to her bedroom. She let out a soft breath, feeling a bit winded. She never could get used to the feeling of the corset crushing her ribcage and lungs, yet that was a price she had to pay. Alice's face was lit with a smile though when she saw her butler idly fixing various objects in her room. She resisted the urge to go hug him; so tall and handsome and mysterious... "Win, you know I'll just move all those things again, why must you try?" She joked softly and waited for him by the door. She didn't want to go to breakfast but her father wasn't the most patient of men.

Edwin saw her emerge from the bathroom. She was truly radiant. Even though Edwin knew how beautiful she was without any of those accessories. He stared at her pretty form for a minute or two before coming back to reality. Edwin couldn't help but chuckle at her remark. "It may not be possible, but I can always dream, your highness, and also how many times must I remind you to call me Edwin, it's not proper." Edwin showed her a charming smile as his eyes met hers.
"But,..You look truly stunning, Alessandra." Edwin kept eye contact.

A certain sadness and longing was present in his stare. As if he were looking at something he would never be able to have no matter how much he wanted it. Edwin's eyes went back to finishing up making the bed.
His slender body bent across the bed, fixing the sheets and straighten the comforter. Although he was slim, he was strong.
Edwin used to pick Alice up by her waist and swing her around, as if she were flying.

But, alas Edwin hasn't done that in quite some time, although he would be perfectly capable of it.
There was also a time a few years ago when Alice had a nightmare. To calm her down Edwin kissed her cheek and held her, telling her stories to calm her down.

In fact, Edwin hadn't really touched her in an affectionate or loving way for awhile. Edwin had been trying to resist and keep himself at a safe distance. He had recently noticing himself wanting to kiss her soft pink lips, or caressing her gentle skin, but he tried to warrant them off as just manly impulses although he feared there were feelings attached to them, he dismissed it, trying not to think about it. "All done!" He nodded to himself, finishing cleaning up the room. "Are you ready to go down stairs Princess?" Edwin asked.

Alice smiled softly and shook her head. "We've known each other since we were children. It is abnormal for me to call you by your full name. Win and Ed are much cuter... And I also inform you every day that I wish to be called Alice. Alessandra is much too formal." She murmured softly. She tried to get her servants to be less formal with her, as it made her feel more comfortable, and less like a figure head for her government, but alas, it never seemed to pan out.

The Princess walked over to her butler and took his arm, though he was not offering it. "I suppose we may leave now though, best not get on my fathers bad side." She whispered quietly. Her father wasn't a terrible man, he had to rule his country of course, but that meant he had to be stern and dependable, even when it came to his family. Her mother, Charlotte, was a much different woman from Alessandra as well. She had grown up to love the finer things in life as a noble woman courting with the future King, and had been promised anything she wanted. Her and her mother had different values in life. Sometimes Alice felt so misplaced within her small family, and the weight of all their expectations fell hard on her shoulders. She was their only child, thus their only heir.

The walk down the hall filled her with dread. She knew her father would talk about how she should be marrying soon, and her mother would fawn over the matchmakers choices and pictures of princes from far off lands. Alice just didn't want to marry. She wasn't interested in love with those men. Each one, so difference in appearance, yet all the same at heart; money-hungry, power driven, manipulative. Alice didn't want to be a pawn of society. She didn't want to have to marry a man she didn't like just for social connection, settle down and have children she could never fully love to her fullest, and to stay with that husband for years down the line just wishing she could have freedom. The thoughts clouded her head as they walked, the only thing keeping her sane was the strong arm she clung to.

Edwin nodded and began walking to the dining room. Edwin walked with Alice, having his own thoughts race through his mind. 'Lately The King has been much more persistent about Alice's marriage options. I heard him say that Alice is almost completely ready to get married.' Edwin sighed to himself. All Edwin wanted was for Alice to be happy, and he knew that having her husband chose for her was not what she'd want.

Edwin has known Alice most of her life and he knew what type of person she was. Although he knew the heart can change, he figured she still wanted to marry for love. That was what she told him when they were younger anyway. 'Hmm..The Kings having a upcoming ball. He says it's just a party, but I know it's to introduce Alice to all sorts of princes and nobles.' Edwin walked.
'What would I do if Alice fell in love and got married?' Edwin thought, mentally panicking.

'I'd have to resign,...there's no way that I could be around her when she's in love with someon- Whoa, Why would that bother me....?' Edwin thought, catching himself thinking selfishly again. Edwin just shook his head, trying not to think about it.
Although his mind was going, he was still aware, especially when Alice, who appeared to be spaced out, tripped on the last step of the stair case. "Princess!" Edwin called as he quickly caught her. Alice's head was pressed to Edwins chest as he had his arms wrapped around her. "Please,...be more careful." He smiled and sighed.

Alice was awoken from her thought haze when she felt her ankle give out and her body begin to tumble downwards. Usually she had the utmost grace and poise, but today was apparently an off-day. She shut her eyes tight to brace for the impact of the floor but it never came. Her face collided with something much softer than the marble flooring. She looked up with a blush when she realized that something was her butler's chest. His arms were wrapped around her tight, making her feel warm inside.

Ever since she was young she couldn't help being attracted to Edwin. Alice thought she would grow out of it, so she never acted upon the crush... But it never went away, and only seemed to grow. Age did them both well; Alice grew into a lovely lady with all the things a man liked to look at, and Edwin became someone even noble ladies swooned over. She knew he was quite popular in the court, all the noble women vied for his attention even though they knew they had their own fiancΓ©'s and husbands waiting for them at home. Part of her wanted to make the women go away, but she couldn't stand in the way of Edwin's happiness either. What if he really liked one of them? He couldn't be with her forever.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry Win... I don't know what I was doing. Lost in my head as usual." She laughed softly and looked away, flustered. She slowly moved back, though all she wanted was to stay in those arms forever.

Edwin looked at her innocent face as they were close together. As she backed away, He gritted his teeth and continued walking. "I'm just glad you are safe, your highness." They approached the dining room and Edwin pulled out her chair for her. The king and queen greeted her as maids buzzed around.

Edwin placed the napkin in her lap, which is something he does once in awhile. Edwin doesn't want to over baby her, but he likes doing everything he can for her. Edwin bowed to the royal family and excused himself back into the kitchen where he ate his break fest. The kitchen staff made small talk as Edwin sat on the counter and listened.
Edwin didn't engage in conversation with the workers too often as his mind was usually full of what tasks he had to do that day.

After breakfast Edwin always awaited the princess outside the dining room. The conversations in the dining room could faintly be heard but today they seemed rather loud and Edwin wondered if everything was alright. A few maids passed him by and they all began talking about preparations for the ball.

Alice nodded to her butler in a form of saying goodbye and thanks after he seated her. Once he left she exhaled softly, knowing she was seated not only at a table, but at a battleground as well. She greeted her father and mother softly and waited as a maid placed food in front of her. She had barely taken two bites when her father started on the dreaded topic.

"Darling Alessandra, it comes to my attention that you haven't been looking over any of the bachelors your mother has picked out for you. You best be starting soon, so we can approve of who shall be attending your honorary ball." The man spoke deeply and looked at his daughter with strict eyes. Alice sighed and looked at the King. "I have no interest in marriage Father. We have been over this." She murmured and kept her eyes on her food. King Edward slammed his hand on the table. "Alessandra!" Queen Charlotte looked at him and frowned. "Dear, calm down." But the King wouldn't have any of it. "No, we have been calm too long! She must take action and choose a suitable man to marry. I want another heir, thus needing her to be with child. Either she chooses or I choose for her!"

Alice jumped and looked at her father with wide teary eyes. He never yelled at her, talked sternly, yes, but never yelled. She sniffled and stood from the table, excusing herself and walking quickly from the room. She went the only place she felt free; the gardens. She took solace in the gazebo and curled in on herself in her dress.

Back in the room, Queen Charlotte tried to calm her king down and the maids scurried back into the kitchen. "It seems the Master yelled at the young Mistress... She looked rather distraught. She even ran away." One whispered to the others.

Once Edwin heard this he raced off into the one place he knew she'd be. The place she always went when she was sad, the gardens. In almost no time Edwin appeared at the old gazebo that he used to read stories to her.
There he saw his beloved princess crying, her small form shaking from the stress of all the pressures her family has forced upon her. "Princess.." Edwin said softly as he sat down beside her.

He laid his hand on her back as his hand wiped her tears. "Was it about finding a husband?" Edwin asked, showing an expression of true concern. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tightly, allowing her to cry into his chest.
Edwin didn't want to step out of his duties, but he couldn't help it. Edwin's lips pressed against her head, kissing it gently.
"Everything will be alright,..Alice." He said in a soothing tone, using her preferred name.

"Your father only wants what's best, as do I." Edwin said still sounding sweet. 'If only I could take away all her sorrows I would in an instant.' Edwin thought, furrowing his brows. When Alice got hurt he felt the same hurt, that was the bond they shared. "Please Alice, is there something I could do to help?" He asked, petting her head comfortingly.

Alice cried softly as Edwin embraced her. She wasn't even surprised. Whenever she was sad and feeling down he always showed up and made her feel comforted. It had been that way since they were smaller. She clung to him and listened to his deep voice, making her calm down from sobbing to sniffling. Even when the worst of the crying was over, she stayed in his arms.

"I d-don't want to marry someone I don't love... But he wants a grandchild and I... I don't know what to do." She whispered. Alice was beginning to think it would be easier to just give up already, and do as her parents wanted. Maybe a happy life just wasn't destined for her. She buried her face in his shirt. "I just want to run away..."

Edwin sighed. He wasn't sure what to do. He just wanted to take her pain away, but he didn't know how. Edwin held her closer, trying his best to make her feel safe. "It is your future and only you can decided what to do with it, but..." Edwin said as he backed away and got on the ground on one knee. He held both her hands with his white gloved ones. "I will remain by your side." Edwin smiled. "You are my beloved Princess and that will never change." His eyes looked at her calmly, while he showed a charming, gentle grin.

Edwin held her hands, and bent down, kissing them lightly. Her hands weren't all that he wanted to kiss, but he knew they were all that he could. "You're so very strong Alice, I envy your courage. If anyone could ever make a change, it's you." Edwin said reassuringly. "Remember that story I used to tell you about? About the boy who fell in love with a little bird. She was caged and then he freed her? I believe your that little bird. Now you just need to find your boy." He chuckled.
It almost pained Edwin to say these things. His feelings for Alice were becoming even more obvious and even he couldn't deny them. But he needed to hide them, or so he thought.

Alice felt as if his words sank beneath the surface of her skin, through her veins and to her heart, squeezing tightly. She wanted very much to tell him he was the boy who opened the cage for her constantly... And though she had to go back in that cage, she always knew the boy would be back to open it up again. Now though, the time was drawing near where she would go back in the cage and be given to another boy who would never touch the lock again.

"I wish I had been born a simple girl. Someone who no body knew. A girl who could live a life she wanted, make decisions she wanted, love and live with who she wanted." She whispered and looked down at his kneeling form. From the castle she heard the maids calling for her, telling her that her teachers were looking for her and it was time to go. She knew she wouldn't see Edwin until later in the evening, until after he served her dinner and got to tuck her in to sleep. She often ate lunch while reading and didn't like to be disturbed. Alice stood with a heavy sigh and cupped Edwin's cheek.

In a much smaller voice, she whispered, "I wish I was the kind of girl who could run away with her forbidden love." With that, she had already said too much, and walked past him to head to her lesson. She smiled through the tears and wiped them away with her handkerchief.

Edwin's eyes watched her as she ran off to her classes. He knew he should've sent her their earlier, and he would talk to them later and apologize for her tardiness, but frankly, Edwin didn't care at the moment.
He placed his hands on his cheek where her warmth had just left from.
His eyes were dark as he closed them, remembering all the time they've spent together.
"I wish I was the kind of girl who could run away with her forbidden love." Her words resonating in his mind.
He heaved a heavy sigh, "And I, wish I was the kind of man who could run away with his forbidden love." Edwin said sadly.

Edwin stood up and decided to make a bouquet. He gathered some of her favorite flowers from the garden, then went back to the castle. From their he put them into a clear blue vase, filled with water and placed them by her bedside.
Making her bouquets was a habit he had gotten into whenever he was either sorry or trying to cheer her up.

As Alice's classes wrapped up and dinner time rolled around, Edwin had just finished helping set the table as he awaited outside the music room for Alice to emerge so that he may escort her to the table. He smiled, listening to the beautiful music that could be heard from the room.

Alice sung softly to the sounds of the piano. It wasn't exactly a piece which had lyrics, but she always came up with something pretty and airy, and her music teacher didn't seem to mind. She finished the song off slowly and softly, making her heart feel at ease. Music was such a beautiful thing and she was glad she excelled at it. Ever since she was little she had taken to the piano and violin like they were her actual limbs. It always seemed to calm her down.

Her teacher complimented her and sent her on her way to dinner. Luckily, her father wouldn't be there that night due to meetings, but that still left her with her overbearing mother who would more than likely bring the topic up. Alice didn't want to think about the fight, though she knew she would have to eventually. She stood from her pale and headed to the door.

Outside she blushed when she saw Edwin there as always. It wasn't surprising to her anymore, but she couldn't help but gush at how handsome he was. She padded over and took his arm. "How was your day?" She asked. She didn't want to talk about the mornings fiasco.

Edwin glanced over and held out his arm for her to grab onto, although he knew she would anyway. He really liked when they were close like they were now, it always made him feel good. If Edwin could make his future his own, he'd be a wealthy prince and He'd be strolling around the garden in his handsome attire with her holding his arm just as she is now. Edwin snapped back into reality once he heard her voice.

"It went well, my princess. Thank you for asking." Edwin smiled. "And how was your day?" He asked curiously. "I heard you in the music room, beautiful as always. Did all your classes go well?" Edwin added as they approached the dining room, Edwin held out her chair and after getting her answer he bowed and went back to the kitchen. Edwin grabbed a plate of food and only ate a little bit before racing off to apologize to her teachers. They were very gracious and didn't think anything of it. Although her dancing instructor asked for him to fill in for her tomorrow, to which he agreed to.

Edwin went back to wait outside the dinning room doors, awaiting Alice and also making sure another episode like this morning didn't happen. Edwin had been skipping meals lately due to him overly taking care of Alice. Instead of eating he'd run small errands like he just had or it could be as simple as just making sure her bed was ready for her to sleep. But, he took his duties very seriously and wouldn't let up.

Alice ate quietly and listened to her mother gossip about the next big ball and the other people in court. She wasn't exactly interested in making fun of girls, talking about boys... She just didn't enjoy most of the things high class ladies did, thus why her only company was her butler. After dinner was finished she grabbed an extra plate of cake and walked out into the hall. She handed it to Edwin and gave him a knowing smile.

"Eat it. You deserve a treat, and I know you haven't been eating as much as you should. Plus, I demand you eat it." She smirked and giggled. She knew him, he always overworked himself to the point where he forgot about his own well being. She knew it was mostly her fault and she hated that, but she knew he wouldn't stop, so she tried her best to make things better.

Edwin smiled and chuckled to himself once he saw her bring him out something to eat. 'She truly knows me best.' He thought happily. He took the cake and bowed slightly. "Thank you Princess, I'll eat it when I retire for the night." He said kindly placing his hand on the small of her back as he lead her up the stairs.
The maids began turning out lights and closing curtains as they lit candles for low light.

As they went into her bedroom, maids her already for her in her bathroom, ready to change her into her night clothing."Allow me.." Edwin set the cake on her dresser as his hands went to her jewelry, he removed her necklace and stood behind her with there bodies close. He cautiously went to the back of her dress and began loosening her corset. He undid any small buttons or holds. Edwin hadn't been as daring before, but he felt different, more courageous. However, he stopped there and turned away, quickly preparing her bed.
His face had a slight blush and he could feel the lusting gaze his eyes had.

Alice felt her cheeks brighten as her butler removed her jewellery for her and began to untie her corset. She gulped as he pulled away and went to prepare her bed. She felt her rosy cheeks burn as the maids grabbed her and ushered her behind a fabric room divider to take off her clothes and pull her hair from its braids, letting it fall in silver waves. Alice had never been in the same room as Edwin without any clothes, even if she was behind the screen. It made her head swim in fantasies. She let the maids adorn her with a lavish silk nightgown that synched at the waist and was flow-y enough to even dance in. She padded out and looked at him.

When the maids left, leaving just them, she stepped forward and touched his arm. "Edwin..." She waited for him to turn before falling into his arms and pressing her face to his chest. It was a moment of weakness, and she knew it was so dangerous for her to lose face and let him see her true feelings... But tonight she really couldn't help it. His body was so warm and inviting. Alice looked up at him, hair flowing all over the place. She blushed and gave him her signature cheesy grin.

Edwin was bending down, fixing her blankets and fluffing her pillows. He was trying not to look at her in fear of what he might do, especially with only a curtain separating them. He lit the night time candles and made sure her room was cozy and warm. He continued prepping when he heard her soft voice call to him. Hearing his name he turned around to be met by her colliding with him, her head on his chest. Edwin gasped slightly as the maids scurried out. "P-Princess..." His voice said a little confused. He wasn't a mind reader, but he knew her enough to know that her actions were out of bravery and he could tell she was slightly scared of the consequences of her boldness.

Edwin's arms went to her shoulders, then slid around to her back, holding her close. He chuckled at her grin and smiled peacefully at the face he loved so much. Edwin leaned down, his lips hovering above hers as his true passion came forth. He kissed her mouth and lips gently, then more firm and loving. He knew this was her first kiss, and in the past had swore not to take it, but in his heart, he always wanted to. His strong arms held her as he coddled her closer. He stood back up, standing to his tall height and breaking the kiss, as he was awaiting her reaction. His arms strength let up, making it easy for her to escape if she wanted.

Alice helt her whole body tingle when his lips met hers. Her cheeks burned and she let herself succumb to his strong hold and gentle lips. She felt lost within a daze, so when he pulled away, she could only stare at his chest, dumbfounded. She reached up and touched her lips, which tingled slightly. "So that's what it is like..." She whispered in amazement and then giggled. Kissing was a wonderful feeling.

She looked up at her butler and flushed happily and burst out in giggles. She hopped up on him, arms wrapping around his neck, spinning. Alice realized that he too must have feelings for her. It made her head swim with joy and her eyes light with happiness. She didn't know what was going to happen from there... But somehow the worries of her future melted away from her.

Edwin's eyes went wide as she held onto him, spinning around. "A-Alice! Whoa there!" He exclaimed as he held her waist still, trying to calm her down. Edwin sighed as he looked at his beloved princess. "Alice.." Edwin said, looking down at her. 'If only...we could be.' He thought sadly. Edwin cleared his throat and let go of her. "I'm sorry, It wasn't my intention to take your first kiss...I guess, I just lost control for a moment." He said, sounding a little distant, as if he was fighting a war within himself. His gloved hand touched her chin as he stared into her eyes. Silence swept over for a few seconds before he spoke. "You need to go to sleep." He said, walking away to her bed.

He finished fluffing her pillows and held the covers open. "There." He said, finishing making her bed as comfortable as possible. Edwin looked over at her smiling. He felt confused. Half of him wanted to kiss her more, and touch her soft skin with his bare hands, but the other half felt like he had to never touch her in that manor again.
