There is no place in this world for gods and spirits anymore. Welcome to the life of a fallen deity. [dead]

Introduction

"I am a god..."

No, not anymore you're not.

"I am power itself..."

Your power is ounces of what it used to be. Be happy that you have any at all.

"I am above the humans..."

And now you're going to have to play their game if you want to survive at all.

Welcome to the city, where bigger, badder, and being cut-throat is the only way to being on top, and staying there. Success is reserved for the VIPs, and the fall from fame can be deadly. While there are thousands upon thousands in the city, most of its patrons are unaware of a little fact about where they live; their idols, their high society members, and perhaps even their neighbors, are gods. Well, simply put, that would be a good term for them, though it is a bit inaccurate, what with their fall from godly power. With today's godless society, there hasn't been a place for all of them, and they've been forced to play the game of humans, forced to be as cut-throat of demons to gain as much "worship" as possible. Without the affections of other humans, without a high standing, their power is the first thing to whither. The second to go is their immortality, and if they're the unluckiest of the unlucky, they might even get killed by another god.

True to most of their mythology, many gods have enemies or relationships within their circle of affiliates, though it has been a long time, and many gods have withered from their inability to adapt to the modern high society life, and rogue ways of humans. But many manage through the situation, carrying out godly duties as best they can under the circumstances. Club masters, big business, supermodels, actors. Even posing as the heir to a corporation that they have in fact ruled for numbers of human "generations." The point is, they have to play it off as human, a big step down from the godly power they used to hold over them. Still, being a hot, single, high society member has its perks, and it isn't all bad. But not only must a god worry about mixing with the humans, but other gods as well?

Rivalries and bitter turf wars can be an issue when gods over the same element collide, and the city isn't quite big enough for everyone, some would say. The biggest threat to a god, after all, is another god. And what of the humans in the city as well? While perhaps not quite a threat, it's their attention and praise that a god needs in order to maintain what power they still hold. But that doesn't mean it isn't still dangerous for their paths to cross with a human and have their secret revealed.

Being a god isn't really all fun and games, now is it?

☩ The Characters ☩
You have a choice of basing your character after any god/deity/spirit from polytheistic religions. These characters can be based as loosely or as tightly on said deity as you please, but the character should still essentially be that person, and influence from their mythology should be evident, and explained for people who may not know the god very well, or know the mythology very well. Be creative with your choices, as you can decide from gods from many different sources. Some examples include Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, African, Japanese, and the list goes onward. Keep in mind the number of death gods that might already be out there, or the number gods of beauty, and make sure that we don't only have a few types of gods out there.

As well, you will be responsible for deciding the career and current history of the character, which should be related in some way to what they are used to controlling, but still brings them to place of superiority in which humans rely and look up to them for this duty. Most gods will be in the public eye and very well known by others in society. Also, you can choose to use the name of your god as either their first or last name, but they do need another name in order for them to mix with society. When reserving your god character, be sure to reserve with the name of the god so that no one will take that god while you are still in the process of making them.

On the contrary to the Godly characters, you have the choice of creating human characters who get mixed up suddenly in the big mess of gods.

Toggle Rules

1. Be reasonable with all the themes of the role play.
2. Please respect all other members, and don't exclude. If you notice someone is not interacting with any situations, find a way to bring them into the action.
3. When roleplaying sexual scenes, sensor the content before it gets to far and fade to black or something of that sort i guess.
4. Swearing will probably be well used, and although i'm completely the type to write the full word without discretion, just make sure you don't over-do it and stuff. If anyone is bothered by profane language, we can just come to consensus on staring out the word or something, okay?
5. No god-modding. Please, we are above making our characters dodge every single attack and bugging everyone about what they can and cannot do.
6. No mary-sues. These make for a two-dimensional character that can be quite predictable.
7. No power-playing without permission. Of course. If i find that someone is being terribly inactive, i will decide what will become of their character.
8. Be specific while filling out character skeletons. Everything is subject to my approval, since i want to be sure that that the role play will function well.
9. I understand, SO MUCH READING, but remember to at least keep track of other people's posts, and make sure you're keeping up on announcements and small details of the role play, otherwise, this could become confusing.
10. Please please please let me know if you are dropping out from the role play or will be gone during a certain amount of time. Even if you can't make accommodations for your character, at least this way, i can do so, in order for the role play to continue.
11. Be literate to the best of your ability. Don't go overboard, but don't get by on a minimum either. Try to keep pace with everyone else, but don't attempt to type a certain amount just to post a long bit of nonsense space-filler. I'm more interested in quality, not quantity, and im sure everyone else would feel the same.
12. If you have questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions for the roleplay, just let me know! I won't bite your head off, and your suggestion might be helpful~! As well, you might have a question that everyone else has too.
13. Have fun and be creative! We can have a good time, can't we? Idk, maybe sometimes.

Victor stared at the blood, dripping down from his fingers and spilling down to the pavement below him. The bullet having grazed his hands and knocking the gun from his grip, he'd quickly taken solace in the nearest alleyway. "Come out, come out!" Raymond called in a sing-song, twisted tone, waving his shot gun wildly in the air. "You can't hide forever, Vicky!" Some partner, Victor mused, while he struggled to tear the hem of stained button up and wrap it tightly around at least one of his mangled, bloody hands. He'd need something to cover the wound if he was going to be able to hold the spare gun which still sat tucked in the holster under his arm. His hands shook from the stress, but he couldn't dwell here much longer. Raymond had been the serial killer the entire time, and a serial killer wasn't about to break his pattern. That meant he'd already set up the scene; all the pieces were in place, and all he had to do was pull the trigger and twenty seven more lives would be lost. Victor had seven minutes. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he snatched the gun from it's holster and

- Anubis gritted his teeth as the front door to the morgue swung open, his fingers stopping where they hung over the keys of his laptop. His dark brown eyes narrowed at the officers, walking in like they owned the place, while his hands slowly moved from their place to close the computer. He let out a small sigh, looking at the time on his watch. It was only six minutes before he'd be leaving the Morgue, and surely, these two, coming to pick up the newly gained files on the recent Jane Doe, or rather, Emily Richards, were going to make him do some overtime. How unfortunate.

"What can I do for you boys?" Anubis asked, though it was obvious from the start that he knew the answer to the question far before it had left his lips. He stood casually, slowly. If they were going to be taking up some of his time, he might as well take some of theirs. Unlike him, of course, their time wasn't infinite. "Finally come for Emily, I presume."

"That's the name of our Jane Doe?" One of the officer's asked, being the first to step forward and follow Anubis away from the desk and into the back room where the bodies were held.

"Emily Danielle Richards, to be exact," Anubis responded, tracking down the small silver doorway which lead to her cold, grayed corpse. He snatched the file from a near-by table on his way over, flipping it open and handing it over to the more talkative officer before sliding open the hatch and revealing the lovely, yet deader-than-dead girl, her chest stitched up in the shape of a capitol "Y" after the autopsy. "Twenty-seven years old, lives on the west side of town with her mother and daughter, a natural blonde, and definitely not a suicide. As to who took the time to string her up after poisoning her, that's up to you guys, but she died of an injection in the back of her neck which slowly shut down her organs."

"Just what we needed; another murder case," the quieter officer interjected, scoffing. Surely suicides were easier. All they had to do from there would be inform the family, but being a murder on the other hand, meant it was turned into a crime scene, and they had to get back to work. Anubis, of course, couldn't have cared either way. He had his job to do, which was close enough to his old duties as a god to do embalming, and then he would simply do his normal godly duty; guiding the dead down to the afterlife. Sure, his fall had left him with so many questions, and among them was if that afterlife was even still partially intact. If he had fallen, maybe that had, too. Maybe he was simply leading these people to a dead end. After all, he'd never really been inside the afterlife, only done his job; weigh their heart, their worth, and either guide them, or abandon them. Just another reason why he was so desperate to maintain his immortality.

"Well, if that's quite all, then I'll ask you to be on your way," Anubis finally said, sliding the corpse back into place and breaking the concentration that the officers had on the file. "You had informed me you'd be coming before two o'clock, and it's now a few minutes past four. I think you'll understand that my work for the evening is done. One of my other associates will be here for the rest of the night, however, if you insist on hassling her as well."

Anubis could already hear Caitlin, the odd, mousy, tall young lady who he'd taken the care to hire six months ago shuffling about in the office up front. The girl was good with filing, and didn't mind long hours, and happened to talk to the corpses whenever she didn't have anything to do. All in all, there was nothing wrong with the little human, though Anubis knew that before the next six months, he'd have to find someone else that would be willing to take on her hours. Nothing could be done about humans dying, and Anubis could smell it on her pungently, more and more as months, weeks, days passed and she became closer to it. By this point, he could almost smell what it was that would kill her. Right now, the smell was between a bus and falling down a flight of stairs. Perhaps by the end of the week, he'd know for sure.

The officers seemed a bit dumbfounded, but promptly closed the file up, gave a curt nod to Anubis, offering a small, "We apologize for that, Dr. Morgan. We unfortunately ran into some issues on the way and couldn't avoid being late."

"It's fine, but I'd like to be getting home now, if you don't mind," Anubis responded. The men nodded again, before finally turning and leaving the way they came. And it was about damn time.

He sighed, the realization that there wasn't a moment left to just sit and finish just one more sentence to his newest novel, but at least he could finally leave. A give and take situation, so to speak. He made his way out of the back room, giving a small smile to the soon-to-be-dead Caitlin, before gathering his things from the desk, shoving them neatly into his computer bag, slinging it over his shoulder and leaving. Even if he did love the dead, it was still nice to step outside of the pungent office once in a while. The outside was just beginning to chill, and while he hadn't needed one for quite some time before today, the New York air was getting just cold enough that he'd be needing a jacket soon. All these years and still, he just couldn't stand the cold. He'd often contemplated moving somewhere with a more moderate climate, but he had to admit, the snow was lovely. If only it could occur without being cold, as well.

His apartment building wasn't far, and while he very clearly owned a vehicle, he honestly didn't mind the walk so much. It wasn't bad at all. In the end, the trip took only about ten leisurely minutes, walking past the entrance to the park, several tall buildings, and relatively calm streets as compared to the other ones in the city, he came to the building in which he'd resided for some time now. It wasn't the tallest place, nor the most modern, and in fact, it held a decent amount of old charm and intricate detailing which many newer buildings just didn't have any more. The front desk workers were often so old, they hardly ever realized his lack of aging before they retired or passed away and a new replacement had to be found. He was simply the kind young man who lived upstairs, to them, and to any of the other residents in the building, a mixture of elderly and young alike. Mostly with money, of course.

He smiled to the man behind the front desk as he entered, and the man, Mr. McDaniels, promptly gave a creased smile in return. Anubis' journey quickly took him up the elevator and into the penthouse where he resided with nary a sidetrack. Alice and Devon barked happily and pranced around him in small circles while he continued through the front entrance, through the poshly styled living room and to the master bedroom, obviously eager for their master to take them on a long awaited walk. He was a few minutes late, after all, and the poor, simple dogs required to go out as soon as possible.

"Just a second, just a second," he tried to calm them, waving a hand at their noses to try and get them to settle themselves. Any more of this, and he'd be tripping over them. "I'll take you for a walk in just a second. For god's sake."

At the very least, he managed to step away from them, while they decided to bother each other instead, nipping at each other's ears and tripping over each other's paws. Free of their attention for the moment, Anubis took the opportunity to quickly strip free of his work clothes and slip on a casual, black, v-necked tee-shirt and grey jeans, along with a pair of comfortable Toms. The outfit was plain, lazy, but he could dress up a little for the party down at Odin's night club later. There was no real reason to look particularly nice for walking his dogs, he rationalized as he pulled a light, black leather jacket on.

He wasn't too much into the whole party scene, but he tolerated it for the small amount of publicity he required to maintain himself. It wasn't as if he had to put any effort towards 'having fun' or 'going wild,' either. All he had to do was show up and wait around for the night to be over, dealing with a few other gods and possibly a few humans who had the night off from work. Nothing wrong with it. And he was almost sure that his friend Hades was even less into the party scene than he was.

"Come on, guys, lets go for a walk," He called back to the two reddish Pharaoh hounds laying leisurely on the couch. They'd only just relaxed, and the word "walk" instantly riled them back up again, following him eagerly over to the front entrance and prancing back and forth in anticipation of leaving. Anubis made quick work of leashing them and making his was back down the elevator, through the front door of the building, and outside once again. The jacket was far more adequate against the slight chill in the air, and he hardly minded the weather now that he was more suited for it. People eyed him, as they usually did to one in high standing, as he passed by them on his way. Few eyes seemed harsh, and most were admiring. Who didn't like a young, handsome, successful man, after all? Still, as a god, he hadn't had to show himself to anyone but the dead. What a terrible switch around.

The walk to the park was much quicker than the walk from work to home, and took perhaps only three minutes or so. Living closer to actual grass and trees, despite being completely manipulated by humans, was at least a comfort, as opposed to living surrounded by only other buildings. It was good for the dogs, too. Walking about five minutes down the path, he stopped, unleashed Alice and Devon and plopped down on a bench, letting the animals run around for now. They were able to get some of their energy out better here, and he wouldn't have to deal with them being anxious all night while he was out.

He checked his watch one more time. By now, it was four-forty-five. At least he had a good deal of time before he'd have to be off to that party, he supposed, crossing his arms over his chest and letting a deep huff of air out. Off in the distance, Devon and Alice had managed to find a strewn tennis ball that someone probably left from some time ago, and were tossing it about and tripping over each other for it. Anubis smiled faintly to himself. At least they'd be tired by the time he got them home again.

Shirai Konohana

Shirai sat almost dejectedly on the stone steps. Earlier this morning, before her Botany class (telling her stuff she already knew, but the teacher was still teaching, and Shirai felt bad that she couldn't really try to give him advice. She, after all, had no credentials, so her opinion wasn't worth anything, even if she knew it to be true. This is how humans did it, and her frustration over the rules, to her little mind at least, helped bring her at least a tiny bit closer to humanity as a whole. As you see, she was once the Kami of Sakuras, Konohana Sakuya-Hime, but ever since who knows when, she was stripped of her already limited powers, and separated from her husband. And, perhaps, this was a just punishment for having the gall to be a God in the first, place; to be above the humans at all. The humans who always worked so hard, the humans that were so pure and earnest in their desires. They were precious creatures, and they had happily accepted her as one of them, even with her dubious excuse of amnesia. Specifically, her main friends were two men, Paulo and Jackson, and both of them were enthusiastic and loved to show her how life worked. Like, this high school diploma thing, a certificate for being allowed to enter training for higher end jobs in societies. The concept seemed pretty egalitarian and nice to her- since it was easy enough for her to attain one of these mysterious 'diplomas' with her name on it. A Training Certified Certificate, would be a pretty accurate name for it's use, but well, she was inexperienced after all. Other things her friends introduced the young woman to were things like, say, E, or meth, two strange chemical substances that brought her to this strange alternate dimension. With her two friends, they had a lot of fun unwinding together in that alternate dimension, and she loved taking time during her nights to do that. And they even landed her a job, a pretty lewd job, but a job nonetheless, to work and show off her body at this Odin's nightclub. It was probably the only thing Shirai disliked about integrating as a human, but she had to do it, after all. To repay her debt. And it was nice to know that there was at least one other god in this new world with her; Odin, although since she lived in stealth, he probably didn't know that she herself was a god, once upon a time.

A car drove right up to her and honked- it was her friends. Paulo called her up, calling her girlie, a name in which she felt a strange fluttery feeling about- and opened the car door, allowing her into the passenger seat. Jackson was in back, doing some sort of last minute homework for one of his various bird courses- easy courses, he told her, when she asked what the meant. A class meant for the not as skilled people, who wanted an easy way to finish their training. Shirai figured it was a just system, so everyone had an equal chance to complete training, even if they lack skills that others have. Shirai, of course, had forgone all the 'bird' courses, and instead opted for the more difficult ones, and is probably way over her head. Most people in training, dubbed 'students', went to parties, and had adventures in that strange alternate dimension an a daily basis, and she had no idea how they could fit time to do that, and study at the same time. She figured that humans were a beautiful, hard working species.

So, doing dances in front of the intoxicated men at the night club was nothing in comparison, right? She had to pull her weight, after all. Even though she loathed, and felt so uncomfortable after each session, and felt the intense need to bathe and scrub all inches of her skin after. Sure, there was a 'no touch' policy, but, well, she wouldn't report it if someone did want to put their hands on her, and the rumor eventually circulated that she was okay with it. When she brought it up to her friends, Paulo just laughed and shrugged as he cut into another lane in front of an old lady, who shook her well-manicured wrist angrily at the young men. Jackson said that it was only natural for men to want to touch girls, and to just let them do it. Shirai noted it down in her 'cell phone', what seemed to be a pseudo-magical device that allowed transmission of data back and forth between other vectors. She stared intensively at the small screen as her little thumbs fiddled with the keys.

"I'm sorry for... you know, for asking these questions all the time." She said feebly. "Thank you for always putting up with it."

Finally they arrived at her work. Tonight there would be a pretty big party, filled with high name visitors, and Jackson figured it was a great opportunity for Shirai to get more coverage with the higher class customers. It was a good business, after all, do do your best when the best were watching. Shirai could just pretend it was the same as always, and hope that they would be refined enough not to touch. She gave a small wave to her employer, Odin, before entering his office.

"Odin-sama." She stammered nervously, cupping her hands behind her back in a naturally submissive position. "Um, I, uh. I'm here, reporting for work! Please take care of me- yoroshiku onegaishimasu!" She then bowed deeply, and turned to get dressed for the big occasion, if the skimpy things could be considered clothing.

Marylin clicked her pen on the elegant desk she was seated at, looking over her schedule for the next day. Two large photo-shoots, one for the cover and one for an article on an upcoming fashion show. It didn't seem like much, but she still figured she would be pretty busy. She only got times for the big things, if she wasn't busy and there was anyone in the office that needed pictures and got it approved, off she went. Thankfully, her day was almost over and while she was only absently viewing her newest shots to turn in the ones that were good enough for the higher-ups to review. Once she had sorted out the ones that she thought were good, and put away the ones that were even slightly blurry. She grabbed her personal (and favorite) camera from its place on her desk and added it to her camera bag, carefully making sure not to scratch the lens as she did. As soon as she had told her boss goodbye and whisked out the door in a blur of lime-green-dress and purple hair, she began to whistle loudly. It was a bad habit of hers, but it calmed her down and made her mind drift, so it was fine by her. She reached her apartment in record time, unlocking the door and pulling the pins out of her hair simultaneously. She hated the things, but she was supposed to look at least semi-professional for work.

Once inside the door, she looked over her moderately-sized apartment with a mixture of contempt and despair. While the apartment wasn't inherently messy, it was still in need of cleaning up, and she was not looking forward to it. She hung up her camera case carefully on a hook by the wall before walking over to the kitchen and grabbing a Thanks-a-lot cookie from the girl scout packaging and biting into it as she looked over the calender on the wall. There was a party listed for that date, and while Marylin had forgotten about it entirely, once reading it on her small rainbow calendar she became exited to go. Parties were always fun to take pictures at, as long as you could avoid dancing and drinking too much. Still, she had a ton of time left before then, so she decided to take another shower and get dressed so she could watch tv and not have to worry about it before she headed out.

Once out of the shower and dressed in a slightly formal-but-still-comfy outfit that consisted of a yellow shirt with a peter pan collar and a leather skirt. She didn't put on any shoes, mostly because wearing shoes in your own home makes it seem less homey. She braided her now-dry hair down her right shoulder before jumping onto the couch in her small sitting room, which was decorated with the pictures she was most proud of. She flipped on the tv and relaxed into it, scanning through she channels to pass the time.

Nike watched the sports team as they warmed up, her eyes following the motion of the soccer ball as it was kicked from player to player. The young men were surprisingly graceful with their movements and their aim was always precise. The team was filled with budding talent, Nike could see that without needing to fall back onto her powers. The team was the USA's national under 20s soccer team, or football as the rest of the world termed it, and Nike knew that many of the players here today would one day be playing for the national team. Of course, with her help that could be sooner rather than later.

"They're good, aren't they?" The voice of Nike's adviser broke through her concentration. His voice was that of a smoker, a habit that Nike had never understood or particularly like. The man, a Mr Ridges, was a heavy smoker although he never lit up around Nike. Mr Ridges had been the public face of the company while Nike's 'mother' had been living life as a wealthy, eccentric hermit. He had had mixed feelings about handing over his responsibilities to Victory a year ago, but in time he had come to accept that the young girl had the same eye for talent that her apparent mother did. Of course he wasn't to know that mother and daughter were one and the same.

"They could go far." Nike admitted, inclining her head so that one eye was on the field and the other was on Mr Ridges, "Who would be your pick?"
Mr Ridges sat forward in his seat, taking the question seriously. It wasn't rare for Nike to ask her employees what they thought, although in the end it was her decision that would change lives.
"Number seven and... number 12" Mr Ridges announced before waiting for Victory's opinion. Nike inspected both young men, her eyes seeing far more than the mortal beside her. It was almost as if an aura surrounded the men. Those who were likely to succeed and do well in life gave off a stronger aura. It wasn't visible and Victory would be hard put to describe it to anyone else, but the best way to put it was that it was like a sixth sense.
"I would also take the assistant coach too." Victory added, nodding to the slightly older man who was calling drills to the players. Mr Ridges opened his mouth to question Nike's call. Nike quirked an eyebrow and Mr Ridges closed his mouth. He was still learning to accept all of Victory's calls.

Nike gave the man a light pat on the knee before getting to her feet. Nike liked to speak with the athletes that she was to sign before going through with the paperwork. It gave her another opportunity to tell if the selected individuals were really worth her time.
Nike made her way along the row of seats before reaching the isle and climbing down the concrete steps. The indoor arena was well maintained and had indoor heating, keeping the chill of the day effectively out. Currently the sports arena was empty of all but the football team, Nike's advisers and herself. When events were on the arena could fill out to a maximum capacity of some forty-thousand spectators. Nike loved the thrill of a full arena. She thrived off the energy and the battle for victory being played out on the field. It was what she was, quite literally, made for. Of course after her fall these battles had become somewhat scaled down and the rewards she was able to hand out similarly lacked their former richness.

As Nike stepped out onto the field she couldn't help but notice that many of the young players' eyes began to wonder from the ball. She couldn't put it all down to her appearance, after all they all knew who she was and what she could offer them. Victory's company was famous in the sports world. For young, aspiring athletes to be selected by Nike was almost a guaranteed assurance that they would reach the pinnacle of their chosen field.
"Don't let me distract you boys, play on." She said to the group, giving them a smile.
From this close their auras were even stronger. The strength of the three discussed with Mr Ridges shone out like beacons on a foggy night. They would be the ones to sign and encourage and eventually they would be the ones to reach superstar status.

Half an hour later Nike left the warmth of the arena for the brisk New York evening. She waved off her associates and the chauffeur waiting out front, pulled her coat tighter around her and set off at a brisk walk towards the city centre. A cool breeze wiped around her feet and Nike had the sudden urge to leap into the sky and fly home. The only thing stopping her was the knowledge that she would undoubtedly land herself on the evening news if she were to indulge in the desire. Shaking her coat sleeves she glanced at her wrists, her eyes tracing the wings tattooed onto her inner wrists. Once she had flown through battle fields with her wings blazing, now she was forced to walk with the rest of the world. Flight was still within her powers, but as flying was humanly impossible and she was trying to fit in she was forced to stay earth bound.

Home was a penthouse apartment with a view of Central Park. Her 'mother' had bought it some years ago and Victory had inherited it with the company. She kicked off her shoes as the lift 'dinged' to a stop and padded into the kitchen. Lights automatically turned on as she clapped her hands and the wall mounted television switched on at Victory's voice. Neither were godly powers, merely handy technologies her substantial wealth had allowed her to install. Grabbing a bite to eat, left over Chinese was the first meal to catch her eye, Victory wondered through the lounge and pushed open the sliding doors onto her deck. As she nibbled on the cold egg noodles, Nike gazed down at the small figures scurrying about the street. Once she had watched mortals from the heights of Mount Olympus, now it was the penthouse apartment.

While Nike had carved out a decent life for herself in the human world she couldn't help but occasionally remember life before her fall. Why had she fallen? Had all the other gods on Mount Olympus fallen too? Could she return? She was immortal, so she had all the time in the world to mull over the string of questions that followed her.

With a sigh Nike finished her meal and wondered back inside. There was a party tonight. Humans and other fallen gods would no doubt be in attendance. There was plenty of time before the party though and Nike felt restless. A decent run would no doubt settle that. Quickly she changed into her running clothes and sneakers, took the elevator down and set off at a jog towards the park. As she hit the green she picked up her pace and let the sounds of barking dogs, honking car horns and jet planes overhead disappear.

OΓ°in was dreaming in his bed, sound asleep, laying his head against a blue silk pillow. His hair was scattered amongst his blankets, blown apart by the winds of Γ…sgΓ₯rd, as he remembered himself standing in his old tower.

"And… You tell me of this why?’’ he whispered, fists trembling with anger. Loki had confused his crows, though they clearly understood that what they were telling OΓ°in was wrong; just another set to throw him off the path of Idulna. "You help me in no way, friends. Part and find.’’

He had given them no time to answer, between his own responses, and turned away from the edge of the tower as the two crows took flight. The winds of Γ…sgΓ₯rd were blowing against himself, and he took a deep breath.

’’AstΓ₯ra! To me, now! We ride for – β€˜β€™

β€˜β€™Odin, would you just wake up already?’’

He was sitting up straight in a heart-beat, and the maid screamed, clutching a hand over her heart.

’’Oh, diablo, you scared me!’’ she exhaled, collapsing slightly. ’’Sir, you asked me to wake you up at this time. Your assistant also asked for me to remind you that there’s that major party tonight, at your club.’’ She seemed curious herself about what it was; but she simply curtseyed slightly, and rushed out of his bed room.

OΓ°in scratched at his face, feeling particularly bothered now. ’’Perhaps I owe her more than I give her credit for,’’ he whispered, shaking his hair out as he gently pushed his legs over the side of the bed.

He had on his favorite pair of sweatpants, a plaid-patterned red and black mess with fur lining on the inside. It was truly a thing of comfort, something he could never have had in Γ…sgΓ₯rd; something that he would have given up to be at his true home, though.

The draw-strings were pulled at, until the unstable ribbon-tied bow was dissolved. He would have to change soon, after all; whenever his assistant reminded him of something, it was in but a few hours.

Finding a suitable tuxedo, black with a nice white undershirt – per usual – and a pocket watch, OΓ°in changed into the pompous mess quickly. He pondered the benefits of a shower; for only a few moments, deciding he was especially lazy at that time.

OΓ°in was met by his assistant as he walked out of the bedroom, flipping his pocket watch absentmindedly and trying to finish the last few buttons on his over coat. She was sitting on his leather couch, one leg pulled over the other, smiling. ’’GoΓ°an daggin! Your workers are waiting at the club.’’

He frowned, staring, and then watched the maid as she danced over the kitchen tiles. ’’How did you get in…?’’ he asked, focusing in on the woman again.

’’She let me in,’’ came the reply, as if it was truly nothing. ’’But, your people are in due need of you, Norwegian. Get to it.’’

’’IΒ΄d sooner see a pink raven,’’ he hissed, as he always did when he was asked to take orders.

’’It’ll be on your desk when you arrive.’’ She was standing by the door, now; she winked, and disappeared through the oaken shield.

Oðin gave a loud huff, blowing some of his hair past his shoulders, and decidedly picked up his keys. He may as well just drive to the club; usually, he ran with his dogs, but Þórrinn was nowhere to be seen at the moment. He assumed the elkhound was just outside, waiting to be let back in for his daily jog.

’’Elska, my dear,’’ he called, swinging the keys on his fingers before diving through the same portal that his assistant had just dashed through. He heard the straggling call of a response from the maid as it swung shut, and shrugged, turning to the stairs himself.

Someday, I will need a reminder of why I still host these parties. It is truly a disgrace to myself… And such a waste of time. The sickening scent of lost powers. It almost drives me to shutting down that poor place.

He was standing in the lobby room now, with a silent attendant tapping keys before her computer. OΓ°in gave no attempt for conversation, instead wandering across the cream tiles to find his way towards the parking ramps.

His own car, a black-colored Ferrari, was waiting close by the door. The lights blinked momentarily, and he jumped in behind the driver’s seat, feeling a small burst of pleasure as the engine roared to life.

’’Odin-sama. Um, I, uh. I'm here, reporting for work! Please take care of me- yoroshiku onegaishimasu!’’

OΓ°in had not realised he was in the club until Shirai spoke to him, then disappeared. He blinked, nodding after her, and looked around himself. He was already beginning to smell the... God scent? He had no name for it; after all, he had never found use for it naming before.

Momentarily questioning whether Shirai could have been the one – preposterous; absolutely preposterous, he thought to himself – OΓ°in disappeared into his office. He would wait until the DJ showed up.

He grinned at the pink stuffed raven that was sitting upon his desk.

AuΓ°na nearly screamed with frustration, throwing her pillow across the floor, and stamped her feet against the carpet. ''Γ‰g er ekki prinsessa! Þu tala um annan!!'' She collapsed against the floor, crying now, with her hands buried in her palms. She could no longer hold it in; dressed in her silver robe, she had just received news of her mother dying. At that point, she was twelve; far too young to be moving on her own.

''Yfirgefa mig alltaf vera...'' she whispered to the carpet. The liveried buttler, carrying the now shredded letter, bowed and disappeared. He closed the doors, and AuΓ°na started to pick at the carpet, sniffling softly. She could not take the pressure. Her most hated person in her life was gone, now... Simply gone.

"Come on!" AuΓ°na exhaled. "You can't be serious! They need me in there! I'm bringing them their food, their supplies... You can't just take that away!"

The police officer stood firmly. His eyes seemed to bore into her skin.

AuΓ°na turned away, and nearly left, but she pondered what she was to do with the supplies she held in her hand... And after a moment, an idea came to her. She rushed past the police officer, jumping onto the gates - at this point, he realised her intention, and started moving towards her - and throwing the cardboard box over the edge. "Sorry if it gets hurt!" she yelled, laughing, and dashing away from the officer as he began to radio in of her misdemeanor.

"Thank you, Robinne Hoode!" she heard from behind her, and kept running, pulling her skirts up so that she did not trip over the many puddles. Here in the slums, that was the one thing she was worried about most, but it was rarely an issue.

She stopped running only when she spotted her red corvette parked faithfully along side the road, and jumped into the driver's seat, tossing her dirty shoes into the back - where a layer of plastic waited for moments just like that. The engine responded with a quick turn of the key, and she was swiftly driving her way out of the slums, away from the blaring sirens behind her.

AuΓ°na found herself pulling closer to one hundred mph with every block, and slowed herself down, knowing that the police officers would undoubtedly not care enough to follow her.

Her house - mansion, really, on the edge of the city heart - was just a short ways away; or at least, it was, at the speed she was going. She pulled up into her driveway with a sigh, letting the engine of the car die, and listened to the excited screaming of several dogs. The butler was attempting to quiet them down, but it was simply impossible; as AuΓ°na stepped into the house, she let herself be surrounded, constant licks coming from every direction.

"I, um..." He broke off with a cough. "AuΓ°na, you are scheduled to attend a party this afternoon."

She looked up, curious. "I am?" she questioned. "Oh, yes, I am!"

AuΓ°na hated these parties. Hated it more than the club-owner, she was well aware of. As a former goddess of immortality, the smell of rotten life was unbearable to her. Every night, she drank as much as she could to get past the scent, and every time, the amount of vomit created was equally attained by the scents and the alcohol.

"Go fetch... My purple dress. That would suffice for this evening." He bowed, and was gone in a moment.

AuΓ°na was left petting her favorite dog, LΓf; the shih tzu curled his head against her palm, full of bubbly life.

Harriet Rose Smith
Image
Harriet woke up, her icy blue eyes snapping open as her phone made a loud flute noise. She sat up, and realised she'd fallen asleep in her reading chair by the window. She looked down at her book, and sighed. She had almost finished it now, and she could barely remember what happened in the chapters she'd read. The only down side to falling asleep with a book. She put in her bookmark, and gently slid the hard covered book onto it's shelf. She looked at her iPhone, and picked it up. She unlocked it and checked her new message. It was from her boss. "Don't forget that party tonight! A new DJ's there, and we need to review it quick sharp!" Harriet groaned, remembering the club and the party, and the work. She looked at a clock on the wall, and saw it was late in the afternoon. She figured she'd best pick out an outfit. She walked to her room, her bare feet making no nosie on the carpet. She smiled blissfully at the quiet in the house, then grimaced at the thought of all the noise at the club.

Stepping into her bedroom, Harriet looked around, glad to see everything was in it's place. She stepped over to her wardrobe, and opened the doors, and looking for something nice to wear. Her wardrobe was mainly white, but that was fine, as the club's lights would make her seem more colorful than she actually was. She stroked her chin as she thought, and saw a perfect outfit practically shouting at her. She was glad clothes couldn't shout really, or every time her wardrobe opened it would scream. She picked out a white lacy dress, white leggings, and light blue shoes, with a silver sequined clutch purse. She laid it out on the large bed, and observed it, making sure she liked it. Holding up the dress to her body, and her round face formed a cute grin. She put the outfit on, and did a little twirl in front of her mirror, raising her hands above her head. Satisfied, Harriet put her money and phone in her purse, and smiled, happy with her choices. She needed to pass the time however, so she decided to practice on her flute. Picking up her case, she walked back to her plush armchair by the window, and assembled the graceful instrument. She sat down, crossing her feet over each other, looing graceful although no one was around. She turned to the window, and started to play.

What was that? Hypnos tilted his head to one side. What was he looking at? The blurred scene, having been stared at blankly, slowly came into view. Small amounts of realization came to those lovely, bright eyes of his, as they began darting around quickly and trying to focus in on what was in front of him. The sliding glass door which opened up to his balcony, his view of the cityscape. He blinked against the light that was finally being processed by his eyes. What was he doing? His fingers dug deep into the large, faux fur rug that lay on the light, hardwood, bamboo floor of his living room. He was sitting down, plopped in a relaxed position, slouched and staring into space. Someone was touching him - brushing his hair. Who was that?

Hypnos turned his head around to face the girl, forcing her to stop her action. She looked normal enough, comfortable clothes, a little nurse's jacket, and a great big, wide smile. She was plain, honestly, brown hair in a messy bun, a dull eye color which one couldn't quite determine from a first glance, and would have probably called hazel, or something along those lines. She smiled kindly, putting a light hand under Hypnos' chin to keep him looking at her.

"Hey, Sammy. Are you feeling a little more lucid now?" She asked, setting the brush she'd had in her hand next to where she sat on the couch, putting it aside for now. Hypnos had to think for a moment more about who Sammy was, but it struck him rather quickly after that, while he pulled his chin away from the girl's grip.

"Yeah, I'm fine," He muttered, turning away from her and straightening back up. Now he was remembering. That was the aide - his aide - the one assigned to make sure he completed simple tasks and got through the morning and night alright. Often times she aggravated him. She smothered him and treated him like a mindless infant, even when he was lucid. Her actions now even bothered him; brushing his hair like he was her damn pet cat or something. Moaning slightly, as if this were the first time he'd moved all day, he stretched a moment before standing up and wandering slightly away from the girl. Much to his displeasure, she stood as well, following him as if she worried he was still just going about aimlessly. When his words came out, he pushed a bit of harshness to them. "I'm focused, and I have things to do, so you can be on your way."

"Really, now?" She mused, tilting her head to one side. Doubt was clear in her voice. "And what exactly did you have to do, I'm wondering if you can remember that much."

Hypnos blinked a few times. He hadn't really thought about that, actually. What did he have to do? He was sure there was something. What was it that he still hadn't remembered? Maybe it was nothing. Perhaps the statement was just an instant response to try and get this god awful woman to leave him alone. But no, there really was something. A party.

"A party," He said, repeating his thoughts out loud. "And that means I need to take the time to pick a different outfit, since you didn't pick out a very good one at all. Hell, I need to change just to go shopping for another outfit." He crossed his arms defiantly, beginning to walk back to his master bedroom, the darkened, cozy room with a huge bed and thick curtains to keep the light out.

"I'm impressed, Sam," She replied, following him, still. "So I'll go. But only if you can answer one question, okay?"

Hypnos sighed, stopping in his tracks and turning around to face her, looking a little defeated. But at this point, he just wanted this girl out of his hair. "Fine," He muttered in response, slouching his shoulders and letting his arms drop from where they had previously been crossed. "Fine, okay? What's your question?"

"Whats my name?"

Hypnos just stared at her, eyes widening slightly. Her name, oh god, did she even have one? How was it even important for god's sake! Was it a trick question? Had she even told him? God, he hated information that he didn't think was important. It was always discarded immediately so that he didn't have to bother with it. Her name. He really didn't even care what her name was.

"Come on, Sammy. I'm here every day," She reiterated, raising her brows at him and smiling coyly. "Just tell me what my name is."

Hypnos gritted his teeth, hesitating another moment before he decided to take a wild guess. "Amanda?"

"Emily."

"I was close."

"Not at all." She crossed her arms, her expectant smile only growing.

"Emily?" Hypnos repeated, raising his brows.

"Yes?"

"Please get the fuck out of my apartment already," He begged, almost whining, his body slouching forward even more. He couldn't take this anymore. Testing his lucidity wasn't going to prove anything, and before long, he'd be getting her out of his hair anyway. He didn't need some stupid aide to help him get ready, to make sure he wasn't getting lost in the middle of the night. He could take care of himself, even with his wistfulness. There were enough moments of lucidity to make it through the day, wasn't there? "This party will run late, I'm sure. So don't bother to come by for a night check, okay? Unfortunately, I'll see you tomorrow." And with that, he waltzed through to his bedroom, shutting the door behind him. If she bothered to stay in his apartment, she'd have plenty of hell to pay for it.

The light was on in his room, and while it was something that he never turned on himself, she often did so whenever she was being bothersome and trying to wake him up in the morning. Of course he wasn't lucid in the morning! He was the complete opposite of a morning person, after all. He quickly made his way to the windows, drawing back the curtains for some more natural light instead, before trailing back around and turning off those damn man made lights that he dreaded so much. His walk in closet was to the right of his king-size bed, a bed in which his small figure was almost completely lost within blankets and pillows, but made falling out of the bed or getting up and sleepwalking much less likely. The closet, full of clothes from photo-shoots, runways, and all the boutiques he often regulared, almost seemed as if it were ready to burst from fullness, though it was quite often when he came home with more clothes. Today would be one of those days, of course. While parties moved around him so often, and he simply became a little object to be viewed in the scenery, rather than apart of the party, he didn't mind going so much, and he certainly didn't mind the attention.

Hypnos stripped quickly, turning on the light for the closet - he had to, as no windows were there to shine into the closet -and stepping inside to pick something else out, something a little better than a tee-shirt and sweatpants. How tasteless that girl was, but then again, she was nurse, not a fashion star. He couldn't blame her, and at least she tried, though he kind of wished she didn't try at all, and would just. stop. coming. to. his. apartment. Honestly.

In the end, he picked something a little on the cuter side; a thickly knit sweater with cream and red and navy patterns, a pair of light wash skinny jeans, and mid-calf-high black, lace-up leather boots. He shut off the light, made his way swiftly back over to he door, hesitating before opening it up again. He pressed his ear to the door, trying to listen for whats-her-name. She hadn't bothered him thus far, now had she? But he really couldn't be sure. One moment, silence... Another moment, silence... A last moment more, silence still... Good, it was safe. He twisted the handle slowly, slipping out of his bedroom and slinking around the halls as quietly as possible to be sure that he wasn't mistaken. As soon as the coast was clear, he straightened up, let out a small sigh of relief, and made his way to the front door of his apartment.

His place was in no way the penthouse, but it was big enough, it was high enough. The building was modern and chic and lovely. He didn't mind it. It was good enough for what he needed it for; sleep. Still, it was far from what he was used to. It was far from the closed off cave that he'd lived in as a god. He wanted to go back for so long, but perhaps he'd dropped that wish after some time. He'd given up on it. Just thinking about returning was enough to sadden him. And the man, Endymion, cast in eternal sleep. That beautiful man that Hypnos had often watched, despite knowing that someone else had loved him... What had become of him? By now, with Hypnos' abilities so diluted, perhaps it had effected him as well, and he would be dead. But it was so long ago. There was nothing more to dwell on.

Grabbing his cell phone on his way out, he made his way quickly down the elevator, passing through the front hall of the grand building he resided in before exiting out the front door onto the busy sidewalk. People passed quickly too and fro, but the lovely little god was noticeable enough that not a soul bumped into him to waver the path he was on. At least humans were smart enough most of the time not to disrespect their own kind who were in higher standing. They'd disrespected their gods for so long, but that was the thing, wasn't it? Those with fame were the new gods, and anyone with fame could become one. How aggravating.

It wasn't more than ten minutes before he was in one of his favorite high end shopping districts. After all, it was always nice to have something new to wear to parties and things, and he had to admit, trying on new clothes was a bit of a weakness for him. A bit odd, but at least he could manage to admit it to himself. Pausing at the corner of the street before entering any of the stores, however, he pulled his phone out and checked the time quickly. It was a bit past four. He had plenty of time to grab a new outfit, go back and change, and probably a few other things, too, before this party would be starting. Passing the time wouldn't be too bad, he decided, moving from his place and shoving his phone back down into his back pocket. For now, all he had to focus on was which store to go in first.

Cedric had been hanging out in a coffee for some time, but today, something made him a bit pissed. He was working with his laptop for some latest song that he really, but as he was going to take the cup to sip on the coffee, some idiot bumped into his elbow, and it ended that the coffee was all dripped over his laptop. At first, it was all alright, but then the computer fried. He didn't even say anything; he just hit his forehead on the table, not even caring if the stupid one excused himself. Then, he was pulled away as his laptop got on fire. At the end, the coffee shop was on fire. For a while, he admired the glow of the fire vivid glow. It was scary for something so beautiful could kill someone.

But he would kill that guy; it was a really good track. Plus, since he wasn't on the cloud, it wasn't saved. Such a bad day.

Fortunately, he had a back up laptop. It would have been bad if he got in his new job without one. They had cdj, but he didn't use much cd's. Besides, he would need to burn them with a new laptop. Any ways, tonight, he was working at his new job. There was some nightclub that needed a new dj, and so he tried out. Even though he never went to clubs, he felt that it would be a nice thing to try. Of course, he wasn't the only one, but what is special is that he's opening the show. He was a bit stressed out.

Since he didn't wanted to be late, he arrived very early before the big party. As he would expect, the others didn't arrive. He threw his bag down on the couch that was in the small lounge for the djs, like some kind of green room. Taking out his laptop, he walked up to the main stage, where most of the equipment is. There is one rule that he was told about; anything up there is free to use. If you see something that you like, feel free to use it. It was just something to make sure that everyone was equal, since there were a lot of stuff. Namely the nice cdj-2000nexus, traktor s4, rmx-1000, and so on. He wondered how much money have been put in that stuff. The cdjs alone is already a couple of thousands.

Oh well, he had to report to his boss. But he gave a last look at the club, thinking that the money spent in that kind of building does fit the man's lifestyle. By that he meant that he was obviously rich, and probably richer than Cedric could think. He walked back in the backstage into the lounge; still nobody. Are they going to be late because he was starting his set? Whatever happens, he was ready to rock the night, and the day if it has to come to this. He smirked a bit as he left the place, going down to the office.

He was well-informed about the party tonight. It wasn't like any; apparently, important people will be there. While parties aren't meant to be formal, he could help but dress well tonight. He was wearing a black waistcoat, a dark red dress shirt, black pants, and more casual black shoes. He also had a black tie. Cedric had to be comfortable but somewhat formal, since he'll be standing most of the time.

When he enterred into the office, he smiled to his boss. "Hello, how are you? I'm guessing you were awaiting for your employees to report." He really didn't know what to say; it was the first time he had a 'real job'.

Hades had had the entire day off. This... Really annoyed him since he had nothing better to do with his time. But of course, he did have to take some time off. And plus, morgues weren't really the busiest of places. Just the way he liked it. And his other Job, there were no mission calls, so that meant no work.

So, Hades had twisted his teal hair up into a pony-tail as Cerberus jumped around him happily. Hades had spent the entire day indoors reading until he actually felt like he needed to move. This is where he made his very simple, very stupid mistake. He muttered out the words, "Maybe I should go for a walk."

Cerberus, ended up hearing that key word "walk" and automatically got really happy and hyper and thus wouldn't stop bothering poor old Hades. So now, Hades was trying to make himself look presentable before he took his rottweiler out for what most likely would be hours.

Hades grabbed Cerberus' leash but didn't attach it. The animal knew better than to run, and was actually very well behaved. Cerberus rushed out the door once it was open, Hades lightly jogging after him. He huffed for breath once the beast slowed down to sniff who knows what.

Cerberus noticed something and perked up. He started barking and bouncing as Hades looking in the point direction. "Anubis." He stated, ushering Cerberus to go play. The animal ran across the (thankfully empty) street as he went to go play with the other dogs.

Hades calmly walked up to Anubis. "Finally. Something other than me that has to tire him out." Hades stated, a small smirk on his lips.

OΓ°in was sitting behind his desk - not that he ever really had much use for it, but sometimes, it was beneficial - and reading about some flute prodigy that had just sprung up out of nowhere in the Middle East. Really, he could not imagine why she had gotten such a center of attention; he had seen more than ''prodigies'' in his lifetime, he had seen works of art created and thrown back down because someone did not fit the liking of the person who discovered their talents.

"Hello, how are you? I'm guessing you were awaiting for your employees to report."

He put the newspaper down, sliding off his glasses with a fake smile, and nodded. "Ah, yes. I assume you must be Cedric, then?" He quickly gestured to a chair, lingering a foot or so before the desk. "Please, sit down. I have but a few questions to ask of you before the night starts."

OΓ°in pondered for a moment, looking back down at the article, before his attention re-focused to Cedric. "I would guess that you have already looked at our stage here. Is everything to your likes? I would be certain there is enough time to get something you would be in need of, should that be an issue."

What would the chances be that I've found someone who is a...'prodigy'? I wouldn't turn him away, but...

"And, at that, I would request a chance to listen to one or two of your mixes. Not an issue, I trust?"

Nyx stared intently at the stack of stapled papers in her lap, carefully reading over her lines once again. A makeup artist dabbed at her cheeks and nose with a makeup brush, lightly coating them with blush. "Please, not too much Mia," Nyx murmured quietly, not moving her face. She didn't like putting on too much make up, believing simplicity to be more beautiful than putting on a mask. Then again, her whole career was putting on a mask. Mia gave her a small smile and turned to finish setting her hair. After ten minutes of brushing and tweaking, she was all set. Pushing herself up, she strode out of her dressing trailer, and onto the set.

There were lots of people bustling around; the director, producers, camera men, gaffers, stage hands, and assistants. They scrambled to get the set ready, and were checking all the equiptment again. Walking past the mob, she sauntered onto the set and sat down at one of the tables in front of the cafe they were filming at. The scene they were about to shoot was an outdoor one, and there was already a crowd of pedestrians waiting to see the action, and a few had hopes of being on camera.

Her co-star sat opposite to her, a handome young man with great talent and an even greater ego. The director signaled for them to start with a loud, "Action!" Everyone collectively went silent, the only sound coming from the man across from her. "I don't mean to be intruding, but how are you holding up?" he inquired softly. Nyx turned her head on cue, her eyes darting away to the passing cars. "I don't want to talk about it. If it's alright with you, I'd like to ask why you called me here in the first place." the young man leaned forward, his elbows resting gently on the tabletop. "I'm just trying to look out for you, quit making it so hard. Anyway, I wanted to see you because..." his face went blank for a moment as his brain tried to retrieve his next line. After a moment, the director yelled cut, and the workers got loud again as they reset everything for another take. The actor looked over his lines, and the started filming once more.

By late afternoon/early evening, they had filmed 74 pages, and Nyx was finally allowed to leave. She got into her Mercedes, and drove towards her home, crossing into Manhattan. She had a beautiful penthouse in Tribeca.

After parking her car, she went upstairs to her penthouse. Her keys jangled as she unlocked the door and stepped in. The rooms were bathed in light streaming in through the giant windows. The living room was mostly glass on the side facing out towards the street and a park.

She went into the bathroom to take a quick shower. The hot water rolled down her body, relaxing her as she closed her eyes. Warm showers always did make her sleepy. She stepped out ten minutes later, and already the window and mirrors were fogged. Steam curled around the room as she wrapped herself in a towel and went into her bedroom to get dressed. There was a party to attend tonight, at Odin's club. The other gods were supposed to come as well, and though she wasn't the most sociable person, his parties were fun.

Nyx got out a small black dress with minimal accessories, black boots, and a matching clutch. She laid them out on her bed, opting to put them on just before the party.

Anyway, she had time to kill. For now, she just slid on a soft robe to relax in. Sauntering into the living room, she curled up in the couch and fell asleep.

Cedric nodded as he sat down on the seat that his boss gestured to. He keptΒ his hands to himself; he would usually take a mudaneΒ object and play with it, like a kid. He wasn't much stressed and kept a smile on his face as his boss asked some question. "I think there is everything that a DJ would ever dream off up there, so I'm pretty sure that everything is good for my part."

Although, Cedric almost lost his straight face at the next question. Of course, there was a problem with it, but he couldn't just say plainly no. The problem was because he hadn't backed up his files on the laptop he just brought, and probably everything he had done in the mean time got up in fire. It was a bummer, but he needed to be sure of himself this time. "Of course not," he said, once satisfied of his calmness "I'm sure I can come up with some thing."

Once he came up to the stage, he felt his heart rushed. He hadn't been able to set upΒ properly, but he was sure that the USB hub that connected every piece of technology on the stage would help. He would install his laptop on the stand assigned for it and connected only one USB jack into it. He saw as the lights shuffled around to tell the user that it was ready. He opened up his software, Traktor, and dropped a quick patch for the S4. It was designedΒ for the S2, but he guessed it wouldn't change much. In the same time, he assigned the nexus-2000 to check for the laptop for the program; it will help to be on his library.

As he began his mix, it seems like all worries go off his mind and started with an introductory remix. Cedric had been working on for Β a while, and he thought it would be good for warming up the floor instead of quickly jumping into the bigger sounds. He smiled as the sound was omnipresent in the entirety of the room he was in. For the beginning, he didn't need of the headphones, since it was only the timing with what people heard is important. However, in the middle of introductory, when it seems to beΒ in its peak, he saw that the nexus-2000 were now synchronised with the library he had, He reached over two of them with one hand to load up tracks into them. He quickly followed the now energetic mood of the song into the other mix. His movement stayed fluid even in the dead times; his chest pumped to the beat of the song since it help him to be with the song tempo. At the end of that very mix, he came back to his remix, where the tone had now down, calmer, to bring down the energy of the room.

Once it ended, he stroke a satisfying smile towards his boss. "Will that be enough?" He seemed to beΒ sure of himself, but inside of him, he was worried.

OΓ°in gave a pleased smile. He could never be sure what was up to date and what was not, with technology constantly changing; how much it had already given, and how much it had yet to give. He would be interested to see where it could go yet.

He felt, for some reason, that Cedric was uncomfortable playing a tune or two for him - he was not sure why. He never pinned these straying thoughts, they flew out like words in a poetry book and could never be pushed back to an origin.

Walking through the club, OΓ°in felt at home once more; the pure pleasure that reminded him why he still ran this joint. It was low down, for him, there were so much better - and yet, it made him feel so worthless. Just another reminder that there's less of a God within me. As it was said, A God just watches us and kills us once we become boring... He looked around himself, hoping he did not speak out of turn, and turned his focus back to the music that was playing.

"I don't know much, but this is certainly a change from the last DJ we had..." He grinned, shaking his head softly. The old one was a mess, to be said nicely - always on a new drug, each time he came in.

OΓ°in found himself lost in the sound.

"Will that be enough?"

He looked up, slightly startled to be finding himself standing in the floor, and nodded. "Yes. That was more than acceptable. Forgive me, however, more important matters have come to mind... Preparation for tonight seems to be bigger every night. Please, feel free to make yourself at home, organize as you wish; and, should you so choose, the bar will be open for a while."

OΓ°in bowed - a surprise to himself! So much for this...godliness - to Cedric, and turned around, walking away swiftly. He had no matters he could think of. He only wanted to escape, feeling sick for reasons he could not imagine.

"Finally. Something other than me that has to tire him out."

Anubis looked over his shoulder and gave a small smile to his fellow death god, crossing one leg over the other casually before sending his gaze back to Alice and Devon, who had appropriately begun fussing over the arrival of Cerberus, knocking into the much larger dog and toppling over each other. "I suppose that's a small benefit of having two," He finally said, picking up one hand and rubbing the back of his neck.

He watched as Devon, trampling a decent distance before crashing head first into Alice, causing both reddish dogs to tumble over. Anubis stifled a laugh at the two animals. "Or maybe they simply cause twice the trouble," He corrected, giving a small shrug before standing from his place on the bench and taking a step away from it to try to resist the urge to sit down again. He had to stretch his legs at least a bit. Sure, the walk helped, but the long day was beginning to wear down on him. He hated the way this life made him feel. He'd never had to worry about being tired or hungry as a god. And he certainly had never had to deal with being bored. Being human - or, pretending to be so - truly was awful. Though, some small part of him didn't mind it completely.

Stretching his arms out in front of him for a moment, it crossed his mind how little he had moved around lately, aside from walking Alice and Devon and his trips to and fro from work. Maybe it was true he needed to move around a bit more, maybe join a gym to exercise himself. What a dreaded thought. Barely a thing to distinguish himself from humans, now was there? A bit depressing, really, it was. The thought of joining a gym and not only having to spend so much time with humans on a regular basis, but having to be around the gross, sweaty ones? He was almost near shuddering. Then there was the other option; taking on his alternate form and burning off some steam. The large, elegant animal body of a black dog was... lovely. He certainly couldn't complain. But still, it was quite the down grade from 'Jackal' to 'domestic dog,' but then again, a Jackal certainly wouldn't have blended in well in this sort of environment. Still, he wasn't much in favor of that option. While dogs were a symbol of him as a god, and worshiped as deities back in his day, today... Well, they were just stupid animals, or the name you call some rotten man who can't control himself.

He tried to move himself away from the topic, turning his gaze back to one of the few other gods he didn't mind so much. In fact, a friend. Perhaps it was just that Hades was another god in such close relation with the dead that made Anubis a bit more comfortable, rather than on edge. And the tall, teal-haired god was certainly mild mannered for the most part. Today had been Hades' day off, hadn't it been? A nice calm day to relax. Or, more likely, a boring as hell day, knowing Hades' lack of interest in generally most activities.

"I bet you're having a fun day off," Anubis commented, addressing the matter with just a hint of sarcasm. He flexed a light smirk alongside his words, before changing the topic to another that he was sure his friend was hardly interested in. "Anyway, are you going to that party at Odin's night club tonight? I know its not really your kind of scene, but..." Ani trailed off, giving a small, nonchalant shrug. Whether Hades was going or wasn't going, it wasn't too big of a deal, but he had to say; going with someone he felt comfortable with was definitely better than going alone. Those other gods made him so uncomfortable, and in his current state, there was simply no way to tell just how powerful they were. It was, perhaps one could say 'safer,' to fly with a friend. How pathetic.

"I bet you're having a fun day off. Anyway, are you going to that party at Odin's night club tonight? I know its not really your kind of scene, but..." Anubis asked.

Hades groaned. "This day has been boring as fuck." He stated simply. He watched as his dog practically tumbled over his own feet. He muttered something about his dog being turned from a giant beauty to a lumbering idiot and answered Anubis' question. "I'm pretty sure if I stay in the house any longer with the lumbering idiot I'll simply got insane. You... I guess why the hell not? I take the means you're going, yes?"

He glanced over at the other male before looking at his dog again. See. Now when Hades says Cerberus is a lumbering idiot... He means it. 'cause right when the dog caught his eyes, he started running towards him. Hades had a face of "I quit!" as the dog ran and tackled him to the ground. Hades could have run. But gods of the underworld do not run from things such as a dog.

So now, poor Hades was laying an the ground with a blank face as he tried to push the giant dog off of his person. Once the beast was off of him, Hades tugged on his ear harshly before telling him to go play and leave him alone. "And that's what I had to deal with all day..." He growled.

Shirai Konohana

The changing room was rather filled, other dancers and strippers gathered and preparing. Shirai, well, she was pretty thoroughly confused by the whole ritual. what was the point of putting these skimpy leather pieces if you'd just take them off in front of everyone? Wouldn't it be more practical, as well as conserve more energy, to just go up naked? And obviously the little cloth bits weren't for modesty or anything like that- the other girls seemed almost excited to be getting naked in front of many men. Shirai couldn't fathom how anyone could enjoy the lewd and indecent act, but it's not as if she had any say in the matter. It was part of her repentance, after all. She had to make up for her hubris and her pride, as soon as possible.

"Hey, Shirai." One of the louder and more promiscuous girls called to her, a sweet little smile plastered on her face, "Why you even here, doll? You don't really fit in with the rest of us, y'know?" What was her name, Alex? It was Alex, right? Two other girls turned their heads, interested in Shirai's response. And it wasn't as if the environment with the girls was bad or anything- there was certainly competitions and sabotages and trying to look better, but since none of them really would feel right in trying to do anything against the submissive Shirai, they all treated her kindly and gently enough.

"Uh, I just need the money." Shirai said quietly, evenly, and the other girls just sort of stared at her in disbelief. One specifically walked up to the flower girl and grabbed her by the head, still in a friendly manner.

"Yo, yo." Bree laughed. "You're joking, right? You're smart, girl, not like the rest of us. No idea why you're in this dump!"

A chorus of laughter as Shirai shrunk into her little corner, already feeling naked and vulnerable enough, How could the other girls go around and flaunt their bodies so easily like that; so comfortably? It made no sense. Way back, women were modest... and protected. No good man would let girls like this treat their bodies like a thing to be bought and leered at. And most unfathomable of all, why was little Shirai doing it, too? Every time, when walking onto that stage, she felt like throwing up, it was so revolting and against her nature. But, it was no worse than dying had to be... and she had subjected humans to death for all eternity. Suffering in a night club was the least she could do.

"I bet little Shirai's secretly a total slut!" Alex and company let out a cacophony of laughter, and Shirai managed a weak little grin, feeling edified for at least being able to create laughter for the fellow girls at the nightclub.

She stood up and bowed deeply. "I'm glad to have been able to make you happy." She said politely. "Thanks for being friends with me, minna dou itashimashite!"

These are my precious friends. I hope life gives them enough luck that they won't have to do this to their bodies anymore.

"Party should be up in a bit, guys." Alex said, yelling as if she were the leader of the girl's changing room. "Let's put on a good show, everyone! And dude, Shirai, stop it with the random Japanese, none of us know what the fuck you're saying."

More kind-hearted laughter. Shirai kept her head down and hoped the night could be over soon, almost terrified of going on the stage.

"This day has been boring as fuck." Hades grumbled, and Anubis found the corner of his mouth turning upward slightly. After all, it seemed like Hades' feelings towards his day off was completely as expected, and Anubis could hardly blame the guy. Socializing wasn't his thing, so that really just left him at home, suffering, so-to-speak. He gave a small, nearly inaudible mutter about how Cerberus had become such an idiot after the fall. "I'm pretty sure if I stay in the house any longer with the lumbering idiot I'll simply got insane. You... I guess why the hell not? I take the means you're going, yes?" Hades responded, finally bringing forth the answer to Anubis' question. Anubis instantly and visibly perked up, gaining a small smile across his lips.

"Yeah," Anubis replied. "I was already planning on going, but it was going to be agonizing going alone, so I thought I'd-"

Anubis' brows raised, his dark eyes trailing over to the large rottweiler plowing straight towards them. Alice and Devon, while, following after, were much less threatening in appearance and seemed far more likely to simply run around the people standing before them, and even if they didn't, their light, lean bodies would simply tumble over and give way. Instead of continuing to talk, Anubis found himself silenced by the scene; the large animal charging dumbly to it's master before plowing into him, knocking the too-stubborn-to-move Hades down to the ground. Anubis couldn't help himself, and, while he did try, he really did, he started laughing. Alice and Devon had arrived as well, and, much rather than plowing into anyone, or even trying to, they simply circled around the scene, wagging tails and panting. Devon barked and hooted, almost as if he were trying to laugh along with Anubis.

Hades grumbled, shoving the dog off of his person and standing up, telling the dog sharply to leave him alone and go play. Anubis managed to settle his own laughter, waving a hand at Devon's nose to get the dog to quiet as well, though the animal simply yipped a few times before scampering off in the same direction that Cerberus had gone. Alice on the other hand, while still quite hyper, was slightly more docile than her brother, and had settled for dropping down and sitting calmly beside her master. Well, at least one dog had officially tired itself out.

"And that's what I had to deal with all day..." Hades near-growled about the situation.

Anubis couldn't help but smile, he couldn't manage to wipe that grin off his face in the least. He almost felt bad about laughing at his poor friend, but... come ooooooon, it was pretty funny. He took a few steps closer to the tall, teal-haired young man, elbowing him lightly in the shoulder in that friendly sort of way. "Sorry," He said, trying hard to get the corners of his mouth to straighten out. He almost broke down and laughed again, but, catching himself and shaking his head, he tried to start over his apology. "I'm sorry. I, uh, I shouldn't have laughed, that wasn't funny." He bit his lip, covering his mouth with one hand while his body jolted a couple of times with suppressed laughter before he dropped the hand, shaking his head. "That wasn't funny at all, I'm sorry." His mouth was in a wide smile, showing off white teeth and pointed canines.

"Yeah, I can understand you wanting to get away from that for a little while," Anubis continued, nodding with his understanding. "I can't imaging that dog being your only company being very pleasant."

Finally beginning to calm down, he pulled his cell phone - a device he found both aggravating and useful in this modern age - from his back pocket, checking the time quickly. It was five thirty by now, time enough to probably be heading back and trying to get himself at least somewhat put together for Odin's party. In his current state, even if there was hardly a look that could mask good looks and a godly aura, he certainly wasn't fit for anything very public. Not in toms, jeans, and a plain t-shirt, anyway. He'd at least try to make himself somewhat presentable, and maybe eat something small before he left his apartment to go there.

"Well, I guess I should be heading home to drop these guys off and get ready," Anubis said finally, looking back up at his friend. "But at least I'll see you there, right? No backing out now!" He gave another grin, before bending down and leashing Alice, calling Devon over and leashing him as well, before starting his way down the path he had originally come. He was slightly down the path before he looked over his shoulder, giving a small wave to Hades, before the other young man would be officially out of sight.

oh, a while back we decided that, since Odin runs a night club, a good idea to start allowing the characters to mix and meet each other would be at a cool paaaaaaaaartay. it hasnt started yet, but we'll be getting to it pretty soon. So far, most of us have only posted into posts, so if you want to go through and react to someone that is free or just start up an introduction of your character, you wouldnt really be all too behind everyone else's progress. and its totally up to you whether you want to just be at the party for fun, or be there for work ^u^ shirai and Cedric are both going the work route, i believe, haha
