Ethan followed as well as could, though the window had been rather difficult, until they reached the house. He stared at the building for a minute unable to identify exactly what he found odd about the house. Ethan frowned slightly at the expression on Pat's face, still it wasn't as though anything bad could come of following along. Whenever he had interacted with any of the other imaginary friends they had proven themselves to be completely intangible except when something strongly upset them, and they had never displayed any malevolent intentions anyway. "Alright then, what are we playing?" he asked the spirit.

"We are going to be playing cat burglar. What we're going to do is pretend to break into my house, as quietly as we can. My parents will play, too. What you have to do is not get caught, okay? When we're inside of the house, only you will be able to see what our goal is. It could be anything; a rug, a doll, a sofa.. it could even be a light bulb. When you see something that glows a sort of red or orange, I need you to tell me because that will be where what we'll be pretending to break into to steal from will be. This is a really old game, but it's still good because the treasure is is always different." The parents that Pat had mentioned was a couple, a couple who had just bought their first new home and had moved in today, unaware that anything was wrong. Most of the boxes had been opened, though things were mostly scattered about for the time being. "Come on, Ethan. Let's go." Pat urged, and he turned and walked over through the door. It was locked, but a simple flick from Pat fixed that with a click, allowing Ethan entry. There were some things that only a child could see; and Pat, of course, was not really a child.

Ethan grinned as he opened the door and ducked down behind a pile of boxes, quietly humming the theme from some spy movie all the while. In his mind he was no longer Ethan Cavalier, he was now international super-spy turned cat burglar: Tom Williams. After a few quick glances around the room he realized he'd lost track of his ghostly partner in crime after the spirit had walked through the door. Speaking into his hand as though it were a walkie-talkie Ethan whispered "Pat? Where are you?"

Pat hadn't gone far once through the door. He had simply moved out of sight a moment, though he heard the whisper clear as a bell. The boy poked his head out from behind a box not far away, and he gave a small wave. "Over here," He whispered. The whisper of course would have sounded as though he was right next to Ethan; Pat wasn't going to bother raising his voice when he could simply throw it to Ethan. It was so much less complicated. "My parents could come downstairs any time now- do you see anything worth while?" He asked, keeping quiet to keep up the charade. He was referring to the glowing that should be coming from an object. Any object. "If it's not down here, it'll either be in the basement or upstairs.."

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Ah.. Thank you for the message, by the way. I did not know you had asked a question. : ) See, the OOC thread isn't something I check regularly, so sorry for the wait. This can be any object you want, though it shouldn't be obvious right away. Pat won't be able to see it, which is why Ethan was 'the key'. Go wild. : )

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

It was kind of explained, just rather vaguely. By the way do we already have a plan for what Ethan and Pat are looking for or is it just a random object that just happens to be glowing?

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Oh, snap. Were you never told? Gee. Well, originally I was to find or make up something that connected both of the families together. For some reason, my ghost had found it's way over, and the two families in question had created a rather nasty spark in Mr. Pat. In fact, the hauntings were going to start off slow, and then gradually get worse as not only did the spirits fight, but as they tormented the families. The answer to stop all of this would have had to be figured out by the people, who would probably have banded together (and moving would not be the solution, since it had nothing to do with the soil nor the houses), which would probably have concluded the role play. There were some other minor details, but that's about it. : ) We can keep it similar, I don't see why not, but chances are twists and turns might make it better. I hope so. : ) Your input is greatly welcomed. Haha!

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Thanks. I am still quite interested in this role play and I too will try my very best to keep up. Out of curiosity, what was this originally expected to be?

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Yeah, that works for me. I'll work on something, but I think this role play is going to change into something quite different than what was initially expected. I don't mind, and I'll give it my all to keep it up if you're still quite interested, alright? : ) I'll check in often so I don't forget... and if it's a couple of days before I post, don't be afraid to shoot me a PM as a quick reminder! : )

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Okay. I might bring Matthew and Madeline back at some point but for now I think they'll be staying at their aunt's house. As for the other characters perhaps more people could move in, after all it is a new housing development.

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Alright. So now I'm going to have to assume a couple more roles, because it isn't exactly fair for me to only have one character... and I'm not so sure anybody else would join at this point.. o.o Not sure who they are yet, I'll work on it.

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Im going to be dropping out of this rpg, Ive finished my characters. Just too many RPG's going on at once.

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

So Wade, do I still post for Matthew or do you since he's possessed now?

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

I could give something a try, once this little bit's over?

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

I feel like I've been neglecting Ethan. Anyone want to try playing as Layla? Or perhaps one o the ghosts could come have a conversation with him?

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Seems to be going ok to me, dont know why you would be confused, its been pretty simple

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Blah. It's probably a good thing not much new has been posted here since I last checked- I swear to God I forget this thread exists most days. Whether that's bad or good, I don't know.... but just pinch me via PM if I seem completely oblivious to something discussed here because chances are I will be. X3

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

So shall we time skip to the morning?

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Ah, thank you for clarifying. I was confused.

Re: [OOC] A Haunting in the South Dakota

Might as well which? Might as well play as the Cavaliers or might as well ignore them?
