ROLL UP, ROLL UP!

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the show of the year. Be prepared for a spectacle, one with no earthly equivalent. Our show is open to anyone who wishes to see it. It is worth knowing, however that we don't take kindly to those who leave before the show is finished. Ladies and gentlemen....

THE CIRCUS IS IN TOWN!

About fifty years ago, the Circus was established. It was a permanent feature in the city. The show took place every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, but other amusements could be found throughout the week. The Ringmaster was a face everybody knew. He was always full of energy, full of life, and always ready to entertain. He could be found wandering the city in full costume at any stage of the week, and that was fine with everybody. He was married to the woman that showed people to their seats and sometimes served pop-corn at the interval. They had one son, who took after his father in his charisma and who rode some of the horses from a young age.

A few years ago, something started changing in the city. The Ringmaster had retired a few months earlier due to illness, and his son had taken over, despite his youth. The city started draining the life from itself. Certain amusements were banned. Rules to restrict dressing were put in place. And within a few years, the city was a dull and boring place to live.

They expected the Circus, which embodied all that they had outlawed, to close or move away within a few weeks. When this temptation remained outside the city, they were extremely frustrated. Cops turned up one night and arrested all of the patrons. The Ringmaster pointed out that there was nothing to say that the citizens couldn't attend the circus, and also managed to talk them out of arresting his performers. The Circus performers quickly became outlaws as they moved away from the city.

However, the young Ringmaster wasn't happy with that. The city of his memories was a city of light and happiness, and it was always full of life. Seeing that dull city broke his heart, and the fact that the move had killed his parents made it worse. But instead of finding a new city to call their own, the Ringmaster decided to change things back to how they used to be.

He talked to his performers, the people who had become his family. And being the circus folk they were, they decided that things needed to change.

The Circus decided to become rebels.

Considering that they all had minimal fighting experience, they decided to rebel the only way they knew. They would remind the city of how great the circus had once been, remind them of what colour the world once held... And remind them that every performer needs an audience. If their audience turned on them... They had nobody.

And so, it was time to bring the circus to the people.

This roleplay is going to be similar to a rebellion, but with performances rather than fights. Just to clarify for those who may need it.

Rules

No GM or PP. They are human, and can actually be killed.
No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. If your character is too perfect or meets any of the other criteria for a mary-sue, I will ask you to change them.
Reserves will only be held for three days. If you submit a WIP, that will lengthen it by three days yet again. I expect a finished character seven days after you reserve a character, unless I get a message from you saying that you'll need longer due to real life.
When it comes to writing standards, I expect a decent length post, with good grammar and spelling. Bolding speech would be fantastic, but the aesthetic element isn't that important.
Romance and violence are both expected and encouraged. Don't go overboard. Remember, cybering's not allowed- even on PMs. So time-skip!
Swearing is fine, just don't go overboard.
Keep any OOC drama to the PMs and out of the IC. If you have a major problem with anyone, send me a quick PM and I'll see if I can deal with it.
If you can't get on for a while, post in the OOC or shoot me a quick PM.
Reservations go in the OOC, please!
If you want to change a FC, that's fine. Shoot me with a PM with one you'd prefer and I'll see if that's suitable.
Make your character interesting. Allow for interesting relations with other characters. When you're making a character, have a look at the existing characters and think about your relations with them.
Bear in mind the few traits I give you with the character.
I know that's a lot, but they are all important.

Characters

Image

Will Fallion | 19 | Face Claim: Gustav Wood | The Ringmaster | Taken

The Ringmaster is one of the most charismatic people you are ever likely to meet. When he's in the spotlight, he's incredibly open, incredibly welcoming and everything you'd expect a ringmaster to be. Beneath lies something a lot quieter, something that holds a danger that can't be denied. And that is where the idea to reintroduce the circus came from.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Marlon Teixeira | The Lion Tamer | Reserved

He's addicted to danger. He's a flirt, but he doesn't do it with the intention to harm. As intimidating as he can be, he's a big sweetheart. His animals are actually some of his best friends, and he actually doesn't hurt them as much as he can. The city was his home for many years, and he misses what it used to be.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Andrew Garfield | Male Contortionist | Reserved

Onstage, performing with his sister, he is something mysterious, verging on inhuman. When he comes off stage, he's a quiet guy who doesn't seem to have much to say. While you might know some that some of the others were performers of some kind, he could be mistaken for a college student. He loves what he does, despite the fact that he's not what you'd expect.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Alex Gaskarth | Clown 1 | OPEN

Born with a natural sense of humour, very few things pass his lips that aren't jokes of some kind. He and FC: Xavier Samuel are closer than brothers, having been born and raised together. They're one of the greatest double acts to grace this earth.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Xavier Samuel | Clown 2 | OPEN

Marginally quieter than FC: Alex Gaskarth, but definitely as entertaining. One could start a joke, and the other could walk in and finish it without any conferring. There was a joke running around the camp a few years ago, when they started, that they were actually telepathic and that was why they worked so well together.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Dan Howell | Magician's Assistant | OPEN

In the Fallion circus, there was nothing strange about a male magician's assistant, just as there was nothing strange about a female magician. However, he was abused about it by people outside of the circus, and his passive personality just made it all the worse. He was one of the few to be glad to be outlawed. Returning to the city scares him, as much as he wants it back. He hasn't told anyone inside the circus about what was happening.

Image

Tallulah Falls | 21 | Face Claim: Tay Jardine | Trapeze Artist and Tightrope Walker | Taken

For such a naturally graceful performer, she's far from it off stage. She doesn't have time for being lady-like. The only time she wears make-up is when she's performing. She has never worn a pair of heels in her life, and has only worn a dress three times. She loves performing, and has never been afraid of heights or of falling.

Image

Gianna Palermo | 19 | Face Claim: Sky Ferreira | Horseback Performer | Taken

Her animals are parts of her soul. She cares for them more than she does herself. When she's not performing, she's practicing or she's looking after them. Her whole life revolves around them, and should anything happen to them, she'd feel like part of her had died.

Image

Nellie Moore | 18 | Face Claim: Kaya Scodelario | Female Contortionist | Taken

FC: Andrew Garfield's younger sister, she's mysterious enough to be a performer. She's always fitted in with them much better than he has. She's extremely independent, and won't let anybody talk down to her. She'll stand up for herself, her brother and anyone else she cares about.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Jenna McDougall | Acrobat | Reserved

A born gymnast, she's got a reputation for being a little snooty. However, she's had a few bad experiences and is just afraid of letting anyone else in. A few of the other performers know that, but some think she's just an asshole.

Image

Olivia Bane | 25 | Face Claim: Candice Accola | Fortune Teller | Taken

While she doesn't perform in the show, she's part of the group of performers nonetheless. That's something she's still in awe about. Her preferred method is tarot cards, mainly because they're the only ones she knows may hold any power. However, for punters who want it, she'll make stuff up from the crystal ball or tea leaves.

Image

Name: | Age: | Face Claim: Alexa Chung | Magician/Illusionist | Reserved

She always refused to conform to what society expected her to. She wanted to perform magic and would never be happy with just being a magician's assistant. She ran away to join the circus, and was delighted to find that the Fallions would accept her as a magician and illusionist- not just an assistant.

Will leaned back and ran his fingers through his hair, catching his beanie as it slipped from his head. Buddha For Mary by Thirty Seconds To Mars played in his headphones as he stared at the screen in front of him. He pulled his beanie back on and sighed, having another read through his assignment. It was the second of the five that decided his final grade for the semester, coupled with a performance assessment. The first had been easy, simply filling out a few forms and accounts that could be found when dealing with a theatrical performance. This was much harder, combining the two aspects of the degree. "Describe the aspects necessary to draw the audience into a performance and write a simple monologue to be performed as part of your final exam that fulfills all of these aspects." He'd only needed to describe the things he'd grown up around and that he had once been surrounded by for the first part. Writing the monologue, however, was proving harder than he'd expected. Usually he improvised a lot of his performance as a ringmaster, but he couldn't improvise the final exam- not when he had to hand in the monologue first to be graded.

He hit pause on his iPod and shut down the lid of his laptop, sighing as he pulled out his headphones. He was starting to get restless. He'd promised everyone that tonight was the night- and besides, he was starting to second-guess the line, Not a sane man walks this world- a madness reigns at least one part of our minds. Houses abandoned when the city started to develop provided their home. They were all still structurally sound, but nobody wanted to live in them any more- not when everything they wanted could be found on their doorstep in the city.

He picked up his phone and sent around a quick text. Meet me outside mine in five. Tonight's the night. -The Ringmaster. He went upstairs to his bedroom and stared at the familiar outfit, hanging on the front of the closet. One side of his mouth quirked up at the thought of wearing it again.

Five minutes later, he was dressed in the familiar outfit. It felt like he hadn't worn in in years, when in reality it had only been a few months. It still fitted as well as ever, even if the trousers were a little looser. He looked in the mirror and nodded, feeling a little steel building inside of him. He closed his eyes. When he opened them, he felt a little bit of the Ringmaster kick in and smiled.

Making sure his laptop was concealed under two pairs of jeans and a shirt, he headed downstairs to meet the rest of his performers.

Raelee and Noelle Hue

Their apartment was nothing fancy or beautiful. It was a small, two bedroom place with a kitchen connecting to the living room. Raelee had once told her sister that they would get something bigger, when things moved a lot smoother. However, Nono didn’t believe it. Noelle sat in their make shift living room, tucked inside a wool blanket on the couch. She was fiddling with a scrap of fabric and a needle. Her legs were propped up as she sewn together the piece of fabric, her eyes clearly reading some sort of concentration. Her older sister, Raelee stood behind the counter. She was dressed in her particular clothing; blue jeans, white blouse and a red scarf about her hair. She had a nose piercing, something she had done to herself awhile back, as a relation to her sister’s love of needles.

Raelee pulled out a can of noodle soup from the cupboard and set it on the counter. Noelle let out a frustrated sigh and tossed the fabric to the ground. Raelee shook her head and slammed her hands into the counter tops, her eyes fixing on her younger sister.

“What?” She asked.

“Chicken noodle soup again? Rae, that’s all we eat. Can’t we have something else, like…I don’t know, steak?”

“This is all we can afford right now, Nono.”

“I’m sure if you asked Will…”

“That’s not going to happen. We can have Mac and cheese tomorrow night, alright? Sandra Louison said that if I watch her daughter for the day, she’d give me twenty.”

“Oh lovely, tomorrow.” Nono muttered, standing up.

A ding was heard and Noelle leaped from the couch. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out her cell phone, her eyes settling on the screen. Raelee heard her phone a second after and her eyes glanced at her screen.

“Well, I guess we don’t have to eat tonight.” Raelee murmured, stretched her arms up above her head.

“I’m not hungry anyway, let’s just go!” Noelle grabbed a small box on the counter and stuck it into her pocket. She grabbed her coat and waited for her older sister at the door. Raelee rolled her eyes, zipping up her hoodie before she grabbed their house keys and headed out the door. Noelle was humming softly to herself, something she did when she was in a good mood.

“Can you make it any more obvious? I bet Will knows you have some kid crush on him.”

“Oh I do not!” Nono gasped. “It’s just a bow tie I sewn together the other night. Might look good with his clothes…”

“You’re always making him bow ties.” Raelee giggled softly. "You're barely eighteen."

"Yeah well..." She said but then gave a shrug. The girls walked down the street, each girl carrying a duffle with their own costumes and small treasures. "This it?"

"Mhm. Said to wait outside." Raelee said quietly.

"He's going to know you didn't sleep."

"Not if you keep that trap of yours shut." Raelee shot back.

Gianna Palermo

Before Gianna noticed that Will had sent the text, she had been training her favorite horse Star Dust. This night however Star Dust was being especially stubborn. She would snort as if to say.

"I won't do it until you give me that carrot!"

Gianna decided that the training session was over, frustrated she called it a day, but when she signaled to head home Star Dust refused! Star Dust knew it was time, and Gianna was pleading her, begging even.

Most people would say Gianna was lucky that the horse didn't resist as much as most did. Star Dust was not technically tamed, she still had a free will; she was still wild...

*ding

Gianna pulled out her phone frustrated. She read the text and sighed.

"Change of planes!"

The horse started to walk off to wherever the pretty beast pleased.

"Can you just listen to me?" Gianna stammered

The horse kept walking without a care for what Gianna was saying. The girl had to think for a moment, she knew better than anyone how this horse ticked... she had to think fast.

"I know you want to stay out... hold on now!"

The horse made a snort as if she was refusing more. Suddenly a grin caught Gianna's face, she knew what would catch her horses attention.

"so fine... lets just go to Will's place and stay out"

Star Dust perked up at the sound of Will's name. Gianna laughed.

"Thats right, where gonna see Will." She said smiling

Gianna would never break a promise and Star Dust knew it, they were going to see Will. If a horse could love a man, Star Dust did. Or maybe she recognized him as a wild one too... Star Dust walked back to Gianna and agreed nodding her head happily. Gianna took this as a sign to take her horse to the destination. Gianna gracefully hoisted herself onto the horses back, she patted the horses white main and made a clicking noise as a signal to go. Star Dust ran like the field was on fire. Off they want to see the ring Master.

Ping!
Daniel groaned as something disturbed his sleep. He fumbled around the top of his drawer madly, trying to turn the nuisance off before it rings again.
"You've got mail! You've got mail! You've got mail! You've got-" the voice was cut short as Daniel quickly threw his bed covers off, grabbed his phone, and turned the annoying, automated voice off. He sighed and stretched sleepily, giving off a huge yawn. Who could it be? he wondered groggily. He checked his messages. From Will? What does he want so late at night? he frowned at his phone.

Something to do with the circus? he thought. Daniel got up from his bed and headed to his closet. It was situated near a huge, floor-length mirror. What should I wear...Ah, this should do! he thought to himself as he picked up a black suit. He slowly undressed himself and put the suit on. Damn, I look fine, he admired as he looked at himself in the mirror. The mirror reflected a mass of curly, dark hair that sat atop the man's head, coupled with a high nose and dark brown eyes. The reflection smirked slightly as it copied its owners actions. It might be weird for a guy to care about his appearance so much but for Daniel, it was a way of life. One should always look his best, no matter when or where, was his motto. Besides, a handsome man like me almost has a duty to look his best, for the ladies and men, he added silently.

I hope whatever Will wants, it'll be quick. I want to go back to sleep, Daniel thought as he yawned again. He headed out the front door of his apartment and locked it, swinging the chain of keys back and forth. A sudden creak of a door brought his attention to the apartment next door. A head full of white hair popped out. It was followed by a wizened old face, with a pair of thick glasses perched on a pointy nose. "D-Daniel!" the old lady called out. "W-Will you pick something a gallon of milk from the grocery store for me please?" she asked in a scratchy voice. "I seemed to have ran out."
"Sure, Mrs. Fickleman. I'll do just that," Daniel said and grinned at her.

Daniel walked down the stairs of the building and wondered not for the first time why Mrs. Fickleman won't buy it herself. I've never even seen her outside of her apartment door! he thought. There are some strange people in the world, he mused. He headed out the apartment complex and shivered at the sudden coldness as a night breeze brushed by him. He started jogging towards Will's house, eager to get this over with and go back to sleep.

Raelee and Noelle Hue

“God, Rae. You’re so freaking tired.” Noelle pointed, nudging her sister with her foot. The girl sat atop one of the trashcans. She was so light, that it was no wonder how the can didn’t fall over with her sitting on top of the lid so…gracefully. She held a needle between her fingertips, poking herself gently as her older sister looked up at Will’s apartment. She felt easily annoyed when it came to standing outside by the street. It felt like people were watching her, and perhaps they were. What should she have done, go up to the door and knock? He said to wait, that’s what they planned to do, but she was getting a smidge bit anxious.
“Nono, are you really planning on giving him the bow? He’s not going to wear it.”

“It’s red and black, of course he’s going to wear it. Besides, we’re going to get married someday.”

“You’re such a kid.” Raelee muttered, moving past her sister and settling herself down on the stoop’s stairs. She could tell Nono was losing her temper, the way she slammed her heel into the side of the aluminum can. It wasn’t hard to tell. The girl was so short, she was like the baby of the group. And everyone treated her that way. It was a given.

The older sister rubbed her hands together, rolling her eyes as Nono sighed heavily, as if she had been wounded. She was very theatrical in her own way. When will the others hurry up and arrive? She didn’t like being out in the open with her younger sister. It just felt dangerous. Ever since she and her sister ran away, it was good to lay low.

“You’re worrying again.” Noelle murmured. “You’re thinking about them, aren’t you?”

“No.” Raelee stood up and walked up the steps before she leaned against the door.

“You are though. You get that crease in between your eyes when you think about them. You said they wouldn’t bother looking for us, so…”
“I’m not thinking about them. Will you just shut up? You talk too much and you’re giving me a headache.”

“Fine.” Noelle shot, crossing her arms.

Oliva smiled as she picked up her phone and started some peaceful music. She hated electronics, never growing up with it. But music was an exception, it was a big part of her life. She smiled as she closed her eyes, slipping into a peaceful state. After relaxing, her phone dinged loudly. Her eyes shot open.

"Huh?" She then groaned, and picked up her phone, looking at the text. She squinted at the text. "Is this a joke or something? If it is, I'll kill him," Olivia stood up, her dress twirling around her ankles. Ever since the job loss, she had basically had lived in a vacuum. She hadn't left the house in two weeks, she lived off canned pineapple. She yawned. Grabbing a water bottle and some tea she had made that morning, she added a touch of vodka. Taking a sip, she smiled, then ran out to the hallway, her bare feet skidding across the floor.

One of the little girls who shared the house with them went out of her room. "Livvie!" She smiled. "Hey! Do you know where I put my shoes and my handbag?" "Yeah!" The little girl's eyes sparkled as she dragged Olivia to the kitchen and picked up her stuff. "Here you go!" She smiled brightly and proudly. Olivia ruffled the girl's hair and ran off, not having a car or bike to get there wasn't very fun.

Yes, she had been out, yeah it was late. It was technically her parent's fault. If she'd had a phone she could have notified them she would be a little late coming home. That's only because before she had finished her 20 minute walk back to Motel 6, Nellie had been doing a little street art on a nearby bridge. It was made of concrete, the bridge anyway. So it was easy to spray paint on. The concrete really just held the paint well, kept it from dripping. Though writing upside down was kind of hard, plus having to do it fast so the traffic below her wouldn't notify any of those...cops. She had manage to print the words "Who ever passes shall never enter again" on the bridge, above the one-way road that let towards the downtown. Using her best purple, pink and blue paint she finished her work with empty canisters. Then tossing the cans into a dump she ran a good 10 minutes away towards 'home'. Then finished with a 10 minute casual stroll the rest of the way. Nellie walked up to the Motel 6, casually with her back pack (made of old denim clothes) threw the lobby and straight to room 191.

"Pocky!" Nellie shouted flinging the door to the hotel room open. She swung her back pack off her shoulder and it fell to the ground. She closed the fake wooden, or possibly plastic door behind her. Walking forward she simply turned her head. Two full sized beds with colorful dis tasteful quilts laid across them, a night stand separating the two beds, and a medium sized telly stood on a dresser in front of one of the beds. It wasn't home, exactly, but it for sure wasn't a holiday get away. She trudged a few steps into the room and looked around at her family. "Look Pocky!" She said again lifting the box in the air. "It's these sticks dipped in chocolate, I got a free box today from Ives store." Nellie walked around the bed and sat down by Aaron, her older brother. "Ives said 'Don't you tell anyone now, that stuff only comes twice a year.'" Nellie opened the box, a intimationous smell of chocolate hovered in the air. "I wonder where they make these things..." She pulled a stick out at ate it bit by bit. Glancing at the clock it was getting late. Not bothering to ask if dinner would be served tonight she took another stick of pocky and then went to the floor in front of the 2 beds and began to stretch. Starting simply with the splits she glided down into it, then rotated from a side to a front, and back again. "Hey Aaron want to stretch me out? I know mom won't" Nellie said grinning at her mother, then looking back at Aaron. A small ding went off as Nellie went back to stretching. "Who's that?" She asked turning to her brother who possessed the phone.

Nellie still isn't home, but punctuality has never been Aaron's younger sister's strong suit, unfortunately. Thus, he's been up with his parents, talking to them about the job he's recently gotten at a nearby restaurant- one that allows him to provide for himself. It's also the reason that he has a phone, while Nellie is often wandering the streets by herself without any actual way to keep in contact with the others. He's been thinking of trying to help her get a day job of her own, now that the circus is more of a night time affair than the paying job it had somehow been in the last town. Not that his parents know about the new situation of the circus, of course- they already worry enough about their only children not having 'normal jobs.' This worry is why he describes to him his day job, trying to reassure them that things are going on well enough. They always seem to blame themselves for everything, something that has been going on ever since they first lost the house around eight years ago. As far as Aaron knows, though, they his parents are the only ones blaming themselves- he has always treasured them. Poor or not, their family is close knit.

Still, he had run out of conversation topics long before Nellie finally returned. After all, Aaron is not the most loquacious of people; his parents are just trying to keep the conversation focused on him, turning it back around every time he tries to point the conversation towards him. Nellie, on the other hand, is more of a talker, words already bursting out of her mouth when she enters the motel room. The rest of the Moores turn to look at her, and Aaron's eyebrow rises at her first words. He knows what pocky is, of course, and is less amused by the foreign treat than Nellie appears to be. He half-wondered if she was only joking in saying she didn't know where they were made, but didn't say as much, instead just smiling with the left side of his mouth at Nellie's enchantment with the sweet. He and his sister have always gotten on a lot better than stereotypical siblings, and it probably helps that Aaron doesn't constantly correct her, though he occasionally wants to.

"Welcome back," he says to her, the only two words he's been able to get in since she arrived, as the girl had taken up much of the free air with her own voice. As usual, she is not one to remain still for long, and Nellie is soon stretching. Aaron is about to join her when the tone from his phone, which is on the bedside table, attracts his attention. He reaches over and grabs it, finding that it is a text from Will, telling them to meet at his place. Rather than telling her what the text says, Aaron tosses the phone at Nellie and turns towards his parents, smiling apologetically.

"Sorry mom, dad. Nellie and I have plans for the night. It's been nice seeing you, though," he says, leaning over and kissing his mother on the cheek before standing up. He is wearing circus clothing beneath a coat and dark pants- no need to attract attention until planned, after all. Aaron walks over to the door and glances at Nellie, expecting her to follow him.

Tallulah, Tally not Lulu, is walking down the street when she gets the text message from William, ringleader and friend. Her thoughts had turned, as they frequently do, to the prospect of becoming a masked vigilante. She's already taking part in an illegal circus to take a stand against the local government, why not go the extra distance and just dawn a cape already? Dick Grayson was an acrobat first, her thought process had went, as she is rather fond of all things Grayson, and has been ever since she drew parallels between her life and the fictional orphan-turned-sidekick-turned-hero. The thoughts almost make her wish that someone would run by with a stolen purse so that she could foil the crime and begin her ascent, or descent, into the vigilante life. Unfortunately, no one dashes by with a purse, there are no shrill cries for help, and the shadiest thing around here is the flickering sign of the bowling alley that she is just leaving- she has to pay for comic books, cheezits, and a poor excuse for a studio apartment somehow, after all. Well, at least the rent is cheap, partially thanks to the apartment being in the city's projects. That would also explain the bowler-style polo shirt she wears over her black jeans, and the name tag stuck to said shirt.

Anyway: William's text. When she sees it, Tally grins, ready for showtime, as she always is. Of course, she needs to stop by her apartment and pick up her battle armor, which is really just a full-body leotard that would protect her from absolutely no blades. As far as makeup goes, she doesn't really know how to apply it, and doesn't keep any on her, ever- usually Nono, the trusty costume designer, handles that detail. Tally just focuses on the fun part- the heights, thrill, and action. She's been in the circus for a long time now, a born and bred performer, but she will never become numb to the bliss of being up there- on the tightrope or swinging in a trapeze act. It's her passion, after all.

There in a flash, she thinks a few moments later, exiting her apartment which, thankfully, had been on the way. This saying is her favorite, in a flash in general, because it makes her think of the Flash. The leotard, by the way, is in a bag slung over her shoulder.After waving at the little girl, Suzie Jones, who lives with her mother and three siblings next door, Tally makes her way out once more, heading to William's apartment. She doesn't have her Ipod with her, but seems to walk to the beat of a song she can't remember the words to anyway, looking very much like a very relaxed high school or college aged girl. Of course, the occasional air guitar does cause people to glance her way, but most lose interest and return back to their own matters.

When Tally reaches the apartment building, she finds Nono and Rae, the sisters, already there and, for whatever reason, just waiting outside. "Hey! Why are you guys waiting outside? If he's not here yet, just go up to his apartment," she suggests casually. She'd likely burst into the apartment without announcing, even, not having the best of social tact, perhaps due to lack of caring. To follow up her words, she walks towards the door to the apartment building and opens it, only to find that he is walking towards the door.

She opens the door and steps aside, making a dramatic motion for him to walk through. "My lord," she says in a silly voice, dropping an octave and trying to sound as serious as possible, though a smile twitches at her mouth.

Raelee and Noelle Hue

Raelee was still sitting on the front steps of Will's apartment. She was tired, but not too tired to do flips or anything that had to do with her choice of career. Noelle said that it was dangerous to do all this work and not take some time to herself. Raelee always said the same response, to anyone who told her to take some time to herself. "I don't deserve time for myself, right now. This is what needs to be done and this is what I'm going to do." Raelee was never one to take someones advice to heart, to relax and take a breather. However, Raelee knew that Will was persistent at times, the boss of their family, so, without willingness, she was to listen to him.

Nono was pouting. She hated to be called Kiddo, Kid, Squirt, anything along those lines. The poor girl was shorter than everyone else, and although she was eighteen, she only just turned a week ago. So it was kind of hard for people to treat her like an adult, and she made it so difficult to. Her arms were crossed over her chest, her head bowed slightly and one of her legs crossed over the other, rocking with agitation.

Raelee knew that her sister meant well; it's just Raelee wasn't sure that Noelle should be pushing herself onto the male's, and she was just a child. Nono's crush was just a kid-crush, it wasn't like she had feelings for Will, it was just that she was attached to him and she was crushing, like a child would on a movie star or some pop sensation. Raelee knew that Will understood, but she wondered if Noelle was beginning to get too much.

Nono wasn't part of the actual show, but she did take part in the art. She was very talented with sewing and making costumes, she was well known for her artistic eyes. Raelee was constant in reminding her that without her, the show would be boring. No fancy clothes, no colors, meant a world so grey. As Raelee looked at her sister, she sort of felt pained. She should lay off the jokes for awhile, but at the time, it was the only way to keep her sane.

"Oh Tally..." Nono whined. "Rae's being a b-"
"Nono."

"Sorry."

The girls looked after Tally, as she barged into the front door and stopped, theatrically murmuring "My Lord..." Raelee smirked and Noelle gave a giggle.

As Nellie came out of her splits she looked began to raise her leg over her head, having to stop mid way to catch the phone Aaron had thrown to her. "Sorry mom, dad. Nellie and I have plans for the night. It's been nice seeing you, though," Nellie searched her parents face for a reaction. "What we don't have plans? What?" She fiddle with the phone and looked at Aaron then at the phone. "Oh, yeah those plans" Nellie felt her stomach sink, she wasn't really in a performance mood, maybe it was the sugary pocky that had had brought her energy level down. "We will walk you out" Nellie suggested running to the closet and grabbing her bright red jacket. She pulled it on and then scrambled for her back pack.

Nellie and her parents followed Aaron out the door and to the parking lot. The air had gotten cooler, it felt nice. "Bye Mom, bye Dad!" Nellie hugged both of her parents and then stepped back watching them get in the car. The car rumbled and groaned but started. Nellie felt bad they'd had to cut the visit short, but the circus was calling. As the two sibling's parent's car left the property Nellie turned to her brother, who only stood a few inched taller then her. "So, we have a show to put on." She smiled looking around in thought. Nellie knew Aaron wouldn't have much to say, unless he knew what was going on. "So to Will's we go!?"

Nellie had known Will since around second grade. She had met him at the circus, his parents owned it after all. Will was a great friend, ever since second grade. He was only a year older then her after all. Nellie was glad that Will was the Ring master. He he was a great leader and role model to every one at in the cast. But what did he need so late in the day? Gee...

The two contortionists began their walk to down the street. Nellie made a point to spit at the bottom of every lamp pole they passed, just because. She then began to tell Aaron about her day and did as much as possible to avoid talking about work. Or more specifically a job for herself... Will's place was nearing though and Nellie could make out Noelle, Raelee and Tally going into the building.

(I really apologize for the delay guys- I've been pretty busy in real life and have had to get used to a lot of changes.)

Will grinned as Tally opened the door and bowed. "My lord." His eyebrow quirked up as he returned the bow, sweeping his top hat from his head as he lowered his torso and returning it to his head as he straightened. Raelee and Noelle were also there, and he grinned at the two. He could make out the silhouette of Gianna on horseback and numerous other figure approaching.

"Tonight's the night, my friends," He called, loud enough so that those further away could hear him. "Tonight is the night that we remind them that the circus never truly leaves- it will always return. Tonight is the night we put on another performance for the whole city." He grinned at them. "If you're in, I've got our plans set out." He led them back up to the apartment.

His apartment was oddly tidy- when he'd hit his mental block for his monologue, he'd tidied it in the hope of beating the block. A picture of him and his parents took pride of place on the window sill, and he took a moment to stare at it, a fire starting to ignite inside him.

"Tally and Rae, I want you two together. I managed to set up a few things for you two when I was visiting the college to see a sample performance for my course. You'll see what I mean when you get there. Go down the alley beside the college and when you come to the end, swing a left. It should hit you in the face." He grinned at them.

"Gianna, I need you to hold nothing back. I need a fricking organised stampede through the middle of the city."

"Daniel, take the main square. I trust you to be able to smuggle your lion in that far."

"Aaron and Nellie, take the market square. There was an event on earlier and there should be a good few people around."

"Olivia, take the main street. Freak a few people out. You know what to do."

"Noelle..." He ran his hand down his face as he thought of what to do with her. She was treated as the baby of the group, despite barely being a year younger than him. He sighed.

"You're with me. You won't necessarily be performing- but I'm not letting you wander alone around the city. Not when what we're doing is so dangerous."

He looked at them all in the face, one by one. "This could be dangerous. We're fighting forces that never thought they'd be fought. Be safe. Don't risk anything unnecessarily."

His grin returned and he went to the closet, pulling out a few sets of familiar clothing. "We'll need these."

Raelee and Noelle Hue

Rae’s eyes perked up slightly as soon as Will opened his apartment door. She cocked an eyebrow as he grinned. The boy sure looked happy, excited really. She stood up and slung her bag over her shoulder before she tugged her sister along, following him to his apartment. Nono was already at his side, biting the inside of her lip as she held the box close to her chest. He was already on the plan, setting her with Tally. She smirked slightly, giving a smug shrug as she followed her younger sister into Will’s apartment.

“Sure boss.” Rae muttered sarcastically.

Nono looked up at Will with those puppy eyes of hers, listening as he named off list of names and their orders. The second he mentioned her name, her smile widened and she held out the freshly sewn bow into his direction. Perhaps she took it a bit too much, his statement of sticking her with him. He didn’t want her to get hurt. It was much too dangerous. She smiled at that. She liked that he was protective over her. Her mindset was still that of a child’s, but she couldn’t help it. Raelee rolled her eyes at her sister’s expression, shaking her head as Nono literally slipped the bow into Will’s hand, grinning widely.
“Made it just for you.” She said, and stood back as he moved to the closet.

Raelee’s eyes settled down on the clothing and she couldn’t help but reveal a genuine smile. She was excited now, her fingers nearly itching to trace over the fabric. She stepped forward, taking an article of clothing from his grasp and softly pressed it against her cheek. Yes, she recognized it.

“Wiiiiilll…” Nono sang, “Do you really think they’ll come? Everyone?” She asked.

Raelee looked at Tally at that point, her eyes set with determination. “It’ll smack us in our face, huh? You ready for this Tally?” She looked at Nono at that point. “Nono, listen to Will, do you understand?”

“Yeah, yeah.”

Daniel looked at the young ring master and pushed his curly, currently sweaty hair from his eyes. He wondered if wearing a suit was a bit too much, but then shrugged inwardly. He turned his attention back to Will, taking a look around his apartment while doing so. It was very tidy, something that can't be said of Daniel's apartment. He heard Will's directions for each of them and couldn't deny that the ringmaster was very charismatic and persuasive. The guy knows how to stir up people's blood. A rebellion huh...I like the sound of that, he thought, a lazy grin stretching out on his face. "Sounds like my kind of plan!" he stated, jamming his hands inside his suit pocket. "About time we give some fun to these people and return the city to its former glory!" he nodded, feeling more and more excited, his old traces of sleepiness gone from his eyes. He looked over at the other members of the circus. He could feel their excitement, too.

Daniel mused over how to smuggled his lion, Xavier, out into the main square. Never mind that, I'll manage somehow, he decided. He saw Will go over to a closet and pull out a few costumes. "Man, those take me back! The memories!" he fake groaned, reaching out to grab his costume. It was a suit, of course, but not just any suit. It was the Liontamer's suit. There was only one of it in the world, as it was tailored to fit Daniel only. He felt around the soft fabric, reminiscing in nostalgia of the former days, the days before the city banned all things fun. The suit was completely red, and had a matching tie to go with it, symbolizing the courage and bravery it takes for one to go head to head with the massive cats. Daniel remembered fondly how much he liked to wear the suit, and sighed contentedly.

"Danger? Rebellion? With a circus? What are we waiting for? Let's get moving, people!" Daniel said, taking the suit with him. "Of course people will come! After all, who doesn't like a bit of fun every now and then?" he replied to Raelee's question, giving her a wink. He exited Will's apartment and whistled a tune as he made his way to his apartment. Can't wait for this show to hit the road! he thought, grinning all the while.

Nellie was glad they need wait no longer as Will opened the door just as they where arriving. "Tonight's the night, my friends," He said reiterating his text. "Tonight is the night that we remind them that the circus never truly leaves- it will always return. Tonight is the night we put on another performance for the whole city." And what an exciting night it would be, Nellie half grinned staring at the ground. And he had a plan. The group of circus performers all entered Will's place.

A familiar scent filled the air, his house was warm and welcoming, it was a friends house whom she thought as her own sometimes. Before she had a chance to fall back into a recliner Will owned, he had already began telling people were they would be deployed to. Nellie twisted her hair up into a bun while waiting for him to say where she would be stationed. As he did she flicked her eyes looking at him. "Aaron and Nellie, take the market square. There was an event on earlier and there should be a good few people around." Hm, though it would have been great to go alone, (she loved having full attention on herself) Nellie was put with her brother. She was excited though, getting to rally up a crowd out of rebellion, what a thrill...

"Noelle..." He spoke finishing up his speech. "You're with me. I'm not letting you wander alone around the city. Not when what we're doing is so dangerous." Nellie rolled her eyes to herself watching them, as Noelle gave Will a sown bow. That girl is such a child, we are the same age yet it's like she's 10. She didn't even preform why did she come... Nellie stood up from the recliner and crossed her arms turning her attention to Aaron. "Okay Aar wanna head out?" She smiled. Will brought out their costumes. "Thanks Will..." She said searching for her own and her brothers. Their's weren't to difficult to find. The skinniest outfits for sure, and hers was a bit small, as most contortionist where slim and small, it was a given.

Oliva ran in as Will started to talk. She glowed happily when she saw her old circus clothes. "OOO!" She grinned. She could see her outfit. The shiny fabric felt familiar in her hands. She stared at her drab outfit, a smile upon her face. Olivia's face was lit up, her circus outfits were the best. Unlike her current outfit, which was lifeless, her fortune telling outfits were shiny and exciting. She held it up to her neck, twirling around. She let the fabric fly around her legs. Olivia jogged through he door, waving. "Hasta la vista!" She yelled, holding the outfit to her chest. She ran next door to a gas station. Running to the bathroom there, she slipped it on, removing the dark cargo pants and the white shirt. She slipped on the dress and wrapped a matching bandana around her head.

Starring in the mirror, she brushed her hair back. Olivia smiled and ran her hands over her hips, un-wrinkling the fabric. She smiled, opening the door to let someone from the line in. Strolling through the isles, she picked up a dark chocolate bar. She smiled and added it to her basket. She took it to the checkout, the clerk starring at her. In fact, the whole store was. Olivia smiled, holding her head high while walking out the door. She could feel the stares and could almost hear their mouths fall apart in a shocked gape, and Olivia loved it. Reaching into her handbag, she pulled out tarot cards, tea leaves and a velvet box, inside lay a crystal ball and it's stand. Olivia took extra care of her tarot cards, she even wrapped them in shrink wrap. They were a gift from her uncle, the only family she could stand.

Taking her place at a folding table, she sat down and spread a large piece of fabric across it. She placed her things out, and interlaced her fingers, waiting for someone to come up. A pair of twins came walking down the path. One of them smiled at her stand and ran up. Olivia guessed she was about 13. "Oo!" She gaped at the whole set up while her twin sat back and watched. Olivia looked the girls over. The second one had a receipt hanging out of her pocket. Olivia saw what store it was and looked for more things. Both the girls had defined muscles on their arms and legs and walked carefully and daintily.

Olivia smiled. "I can see that you're both dancers, yes?" "Yeah!" The first one squealed, impressed. "Also, you've just been shopping," She added. The girls exchanged impressed looks. "What else can you tell about us?" "Yeah!" The other twin chorused. Moving the position of her hands, Olivia offered a kind smile. "How about a tarot card reading for a price of two dollars each?" The twins forked the four dollars over. There's no way I'm giving any of this to Will She thought. Olivia took out her cards and shuffled them face-down. She closed her eyes and picked one.

"You," Her eyes shot open. She pointed to the first one. "You are the page of wands. Out of the two of you, you are the more lively, happy one. You're destined to bring happiness to others around you," Three-forths of what Olivia spewed from her mouth was true. She closed her eyes again, picking another card. When she opened her eyes, more people had lined up. Olivia went on, smiling. "You are the knight of pentacles," She announced. "More serious and dignified, you are destined to great success," She smiled as they ran off, excited. This was going to be easier then she thought.

When she hears Nono giggling at her little show of unnecessary grandeur, Tally flashes her a goofy smile. It is likely for the best that she is wearing her costume beneath a long coat, because she would otherwise look doubly foolish. Not that this group isn't attention-grabbing as it is, with Gianna's horses and William's tall top hat. She wishes she were wearing such a hat, so that she can tip it in a falsely dignified manner. To make up for her lack of a hat, she simply mimes the motion, winking playfully at the Hue sisters, who remain in front of the door. Of course, William actually does have a hat, and therefore outdoes her with a dramatic bow, involving, she watches enviously, his big top hat. She'll have to get Noelle to make her such a fine hat- it really is a very fine hat. She wants a hat like that, very much. How should I bribe her to get myself a hat like that? she wonders.

Of course, this unfortunately results in her holding the door open for everyone who files in the building and up to William's apartment, because her moment of absent-mindedness leads her not able to escape the task quickly enough. Instead, she makes silly faces at each person who walks through, varying from goofy smiles to crossed eyes. "Nellie, Aaron, Gianna, Nono, Rae, Daniel," she says with each person who walks by, nodding with her stupid expressions, as though they are completely normal and she is merely greeting them through casual acknowledgement. Once everyone has finally passed her, Tallulah is relieved of her arm-tiring duties, and gratefully follows after them.

William's apartment is disturbingly tidy, at least to a girl whose own home is a bit of black hole. She loves her little studio apartment dearly, of course, but doesn't treat the space particularly well- organization has never really been Tally's strong suit, unfortunately. A lot of things aren't her strong suit: caution, flirting, and keeping her temper also being among them. "Why is it always so clean in here?" she asks aloud, not really expecting an answer but feeling compelled to ask nonetheless.

Reasonably, her question is ignored, and William begins passing out various roles, telling everyone where to go. The fact that what awaits she and Rae is a surprise makes her grin, loving any sort of surprise or mystery. Besides, knowing Will, it's got to be at least half-awesome. When Rae turns towards Tally and asks if she's ready for this, the grin widens a bit even further.

"I was born ready, Rae. Come on- dangerous rebellion in style? It has my name written all over it. Well, give me time. And a crayon," she smiles. "But, hey, Nono? Can you make me a top hat? That would be brilliant," she says hopefully, clasping her hands together to further demonstrate the plea.

Image

Even as they are walking towards Will's apartment, Aaron begins to feel a bit ill at ease. After all, this is a rather dangerous endeavor he and his little sister are taking on. Being part of the circus had been his dream since childhood, but it never really included the whole 'nighttime rebellion' part of what the Falion circus has become. That being said, even if Aaron really truly wanted to back out, he wouldn't be completely able to. After all, he'd have to physically drag Nellie away from all of this, and certainly doesn't plan on his baby sister being part of it on her own. So, naturally, he is invested in this very much. Even though he does have his concerns, perhaps he would be part of this anyway. Though normally very cautious, the circus seems to be an environment in which he cuts loose a bit. Unfortunately, it does little to make him more talkative, and he remains very quiet fort he most part.

He and Nellie are put together for a show in the Market Square. Aaron knows that Nellie will likely be a bit disappointed to not be performing on her own, because she's always had something of a thing for being the center of attention. It's just her personality. Well, they've always performed together anyway- the sibling contortionists. When William hands Aaron is costume, the latter nods in thanks, before finding the restroom to change into the costume. He's not really all that fond of the costume, to be completely honest, but doesn't want to bother Noelle about it. Besides, she's always so hung up on William, he's nearly certain she'd forget about making him a new costume in favor of making something for Will.

He comes back out and nods at Nellie. "I'm ready to go, Nell," he responds, smiling softly. In all honesty, he's very anxious about all of this, but hardly wants to be the one who bursts everyone's bubble by voicing his concerns.

(Slight time skip, guys. Apologies for any interaction I interrupted- I didn't want to dawdle too long in the apartment...)

Will adjusted his bow tie slightly and pulled his hat on. He looked at Nono and raised an eyebrow teasingly. However, his face quickly became serious. "Listen to me, Noelle. This could very well be dangerous. If I tell you to run, you run and you don't look back. If I get into a fight, you don't get involved, you run. You understand?" He gave her a quick grin and stood up. The rooftop was well lit and his red jacket drew a little attention to him. "Ladies and gentlemen!" He called. There was a considerable amount of people looking at him now. "Roll up, roll up! The circus was gone for a short period of time! But you should know by now that the circus never fully leaves town! It always returns! And this, my friend, is our return!" He yelled. The daring among the crowd dared to applaud and cheer.

He heard a sound behind him and whirled around. "Hide!" He hissed to Noelle. A group of figures appeared on the roof- all taller than Will, and all considerably better built. "Run!" He mouthed in her general direction.

"Gentlemen." He said. "Are you going to come quietly?" One growled, an inhuman sound that caused the hair on the back of his neck to stand on end. "I'm a circus performer. What the hell do you think?" Will retorted. Faster than he could have anticipated, one of the figures stormed over to him and punched him in the stomach. He crumpled and fell to his knees, gasping with the pain. They kept kicking at him. He tried to fight back as much as possible, but after a blow connected with the side of his head and dazed him, he was pretty much down. "Will you come quietly now?" One asked. He spat out some blood from a cut on his lip. "Never." He croaked, trying to stand again. A blow to his head knocked him out.

The figures stared at the unconscious Ringmaster. One pulled off his jacket and flung it off the edge of the building. One put duct tape over his mouth- not that he was coming around any time soon. His injuries would be enough to keep him under for a while. They then hoisted him over their shoulder and carried him away. His hat and bow tie lay on the rooftop, having been lost in the fight. The bow tie flickered with the wind, before a gust caught it and blew it off the edge of the building, to the ground.

Upon reaching the town square Nellie kept her hood over her head. The streets had gotten darker and she wanted to keep a low profile, that is until she stepped up on the fountain edge and looked over the square. Will was correct, there was fair amount of people getting out from movies, parties and dinner dates. Nellie pursued her lips. Now how was she going to do this, trying to use her voice to cover the square was not the problem. She wanted to attract attention, but not from the police exactly... With a deep breath Nellie glanced at her brother then back out over the crowd of people. Hoping to catch their attention she imitated Will

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Nellie made her voice slightly deeper in hopes it would show her confidence. "Roll up, roll up, roll up! The circus was gone but not for that long! We are back and as you all" She let out a quick breath mid sentence "should know the circus! Never! leaves!" She grinned, finishing her intro and immediately taking of her hoodie and sweats. Still standing on the fountain she went into a needlebending as far as possible, with the adrenaline pumping Nellie was able to touch her head to the back of her calf. Hoping Aaron would do something as well, as she had almost forgot he was with her. She came out of the position slowly and looked to him prepared for what ever he had planned. She didn't want to hesitate but had forgotten a bit of the routine they had been working on.

Nellie looked back at the crowd of people, they where listening, watching. Some people even smiled or clapped. Nellie only gave a slight grin at this point she was doing a show and needed to stay in character. Nellie hoped down from the fountain an proceeded happily with the routine along side her favorite person in the world, they where so perfectly graceful together.

Raelee and Noelle Hue

Rae felt her lips form a smile and her eyes roll in the back of her head. She hadn’t had the strength to hold back her smirk, shaking her head as she blurted..

“Are you still stuck in those coloring days, Tal? Aren’t you a little old for coloring books?” It was a sarcastic comment and sometimes comments escaped her lips and she had no control in holding them back. She nodded to Will with a grin and scratched the back of her head gently. What on earth did he have in store for them? It had to be big, it just had to be something awesome. Nono had nodded happily to Tally's request before she left with Will.

Raelee was the first to head outside, leading Tally away from the apartment. She kissed Noelle’s cheek softly before she
disappeared through the door. “What do you think Will has in store for us?” Raelee wondered, pulling her hair over her shoulder.

They walked down the street, heading toward the college. “If it’s a cannon…” She shook her head. “Oh, I hope not.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
“I’m not a baby.” Noelle muttered quietly, standing a few paces away from Will. She wore a black mask over her eyes, just something simple to keep from people seeing her face. However, it wasn’t easy to miss her distinctive red hair. She smiled softly, watching as Will spoke to the crown and watching as they cheered loudly.
But there was a sound and Noelle’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected Will to tell her to hide so soon and she did, though she wanted desperately to protest. She hurriedly ran to the fire escape and slipped herself down onto the ladder. She looked back at Will, thinking he was following her, but instead, he had mouthed ‘Run’. Her lips pressed together and she knew that her sister and him, would want her to listen.
“Now’s not the time to be brave.” She muttered, squeezing her eyes shut and quickly climbing down the ladder. Her feet landed on the ground swiftly and she broke into a run. The crowd was a mess of people, and she was so short compared to the rest of them.
“Rae!” She screamed, and slid to a stop.
A man stood in front of her and he looked rather large. Nono gasped and backed up slightly. He wasn’t going to harm her, but he frightened her so much, her face had gone pale. “Where do I go? Home… I go home.” Nono whispered, and as she turned the corner, her eyes settled down on the bow tie, that now rested in a small puddle of water on the curb.
“Will…”
When they first reach the square, Aaron deems it to have a good amount of people crowding the sidewalks. This is to be expected, of course, as the square is a prime spot for evening entertainment, and there have been special events in the city today. None quite as special as the illegal performance that is now coming into place all around the city, of course, but no one knows that quite yet. Well, not unless another duo has already started off with their act at this point, that is. Despite the chaotic throngs of people, chaotic only to an overcautious onlooker, Nellie manages to grab the attention of the others immediately. One thing that Aaron must say about his little sister is that she is quite good at taking what she wants- and that often has something to do with the eyes and ears of every individual within a mile range of the petite young woman. Small but mighty, indeed. Aaron is less short than she, of course, standing at an average height, but he has a rather wiry frame, thin and with little definition. This is practical, though- muscles can get in the way of flexibility, even for a natural contortionist such as himself.
While Nellie grabs the attention of those around her, Aaron stands quietly beside her, a common pattern of relative placement for the sibling duo. Though he gains more freedom when performing, Aaron is still a far cry from the complete confidence of people such as Tally and his sister. He follows suit in taking off his cover clothing to reveal his contortionist's garb beneath them, far more eye-catching than his jeans and hoodie combo had been. At first, he merely imitates Nellie's needle bending. After this, however, he walks around to the other side of the fountain, so that people on all sides can watch what appears to be an impromptu exhibition in the full range of motion that the human body has the potential to possess.
He begins by seeming to kneel on the ground, palms planted firmly against the stone of fountain. Soon, however, he has lifted up his body with the strength of his arms, and bends his lower body around so that his feet hang by his shoulders. In this position, he begins to walk around the rim of the fountain, expecting Nellie to do the same, until he turns and meets up with her once more, so that they can form a sort of X before continuing on to the next stunt. It seems to be going well as of yet, likely thanks to the fact that the police expect people to gather in the square, and think nothing of it if they pass a large crowd.
"Oh, don't be such a grownup, Rae. Clearly, Peter never visited your window," Tally responds to the other woman's sarcastic remark. She sticks out her tongue at the girl, something that likely does nothing to help prove a point against Rae. Then again, her retort hardly tried to make a claim that Tally was mature in any sense of the word- even the dark-haired girl herself realizes that she still has the recklessness characteristic more of a toddler than a legal adult. "I bet you're a fairy killer, eh?" she adds, continuing the Neverland theme, one which seems to fit the young woman, who can give the illusion of flight when she's on the trapeze, so well.
Soon, the pair are out the door and heading down the road, which takes them towards the local college, as it happens. Tally is itching with anticipation for the promised surprise, as can be seen in the grin which she doesn't bother to conceal. Of course, anyone walking past might simply see two college girls, one of whom appears to be in an exceptionally fine moon this evening. Tally, at least, is not obvious in her costume, which is worn beneath a pair of sweatpants and a gray hoodie that displays the logo of the high school that she hasn't attended for a few years now. Go Hornets! it reads in a mustard yellow lettering.
"A cannon? That'd be pretty cool, though. I've never been in a cannon before. I doubt it, though. Will's not desperate enough to turn amateurs into projectiles, I think," Tally answers Rae's comment, though of course she has no way of being certain herself. Most likely it will be some long tight rope that is wired across the city, she believes. Such a thing would have been a demon to hook up, but Will's always aimed rather high.
They do, in fact, reach such an ambitious contraption, which comes with a ladder to climb up it, and trapeze bars hanging at reasonable intervals, most likely for Tally's use. She grins ear to ear, adrenaline already pumping through her veins. Without waiting for Rae, she runs to the ladder and begins climbing up it, moving with the agility of a squirrel up a tree. Only once she has reached the top does she see William a few roofs down. Of course, she also sees, therefore, burly men advancing on William and Nono managing to escape down a ladder. She sees William being carried away like a sack of potatoes, his beautiful bowtie fluttering away like a warning.
Eyes particularly saucer-like, Tally looks back down at Rae. "Um. We may or may not have a problem. I think two evil shadows just attacked Will, and Noelle might be next? A few alleys down, so I'm just going to. . . " without further explanation or thought, she grabs a trapeze bar and swings back, soon making her way towards the danger with them, adrenaline making her stronger and training since childhood making her confident.
Noelle Hue
Maybe it was because Noelle wasn’t in the show, that she never gotten used to large crowds. Just standing there on the street, made her uneasy and nervous. That short, young woman, who most call Kiddo or little one, was scared. Her eyes were wide and in her hand, she clutched the bow tie. Her fear felt like it was swallowing her up. She ducked her head down, refusing to look anyone directly in the eye. She took off quickly, running through a row of people before she found herself in another alley way. Oh, was she lost? Is this what lost felt like? Did she hear the crowd cheering? Was Aaron and his sister around? Was that it? Her stomach felt tight and obnoxious. She hadn’t been eating a lot, which was partially her and her sister’s fault, more her sister’s because they never told anyone their, finance situation. She pressed her hand against her stomach and knelt down on her knees and held her stomach tightly.
She hadn't ran so much in a long time. Nono did feel like a child. Her eyes stung with unwanted tears and she thought back to her sister. She needed her sister. Hell, she needed someone. There she was, alone, close to crying, in an empty alley way. Though, she heard footsteps and her head lifted to stare at an older gentleman. He looked at her and gave her a crooked grin.
“You alright there, doll?” He asked, and an awful stench came from his breath.
“I’m fine.” Noelle answered, standing to her feet.
“Look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
“I’m fine, thank you.” Noelle whispered, pushing past him. He grabbed her arm though and held on firmly.
“You look sick, here, let me take you to the hospital.”
“I said.” Noelle said firmly, lifting her knee and slamming the heel of her foot into his and he hunched over. As soon as that occurred, the short girl lifted her knee, smashing it into his nose. “I’m. Fine.”
Raelee Hue
Raelee couldn’t believe what was in store for them. Tightrope, for sure, was for Tally. However, the beams were perfect for Raelee’s flips and balances. Though, Tally was up and ready for action, but the girl had paused. Raelee took that moment to look about at the rush of crowds on the streets. There was so many people and Raelee was beginning to feel that rush, that adrenaline that ran through her body whenever she felt like she was needed, wanted, under the light of the show. It was that feeling again, the one where she felt she truly belonged. She felt herself smile, for once, a true smile.
But that smile didn’t last long. It always seemed that any smile Rae offered, never lasted so long. “Nono?” She whispered, her eyes shooting to Tally as the girl had already leaped. Raelee felt a new sense inside her body; fear. And this fear was for both Will and her younger sister. Rae ran away from the contraption and headed out into the crowd.
People looked down at the girl, before their gazes returned to whatever caught their eye. “Nono!” Rae shouted, cupping her hands around her mouth. “Where are you?!”
Nellie watched her brother from the corner of her eye. He was doing well, probably better then she was at the moment. This wasn't exactly a normal performance, she had a lot going through her mind. Going a handstand Nellie brought one leg to touch the ground in front behind her head while the other leg pointed to the sky. After holding the position for a moment she did a somersault landing softly then popping up. Nellie grinned widely taking a small bow. The people on her side of the stone fountain clapped. A young couple standing in the front pulled out a few bucks. Nellie began to stop them "No no we don't--" She stopped herself looking at the 5 dollar bill. Nellie looked back her brother was on the opposite side of the fountain, he was a contorted position, unable to see she. "Thanks..." Nellie mumbled taking the 5 bucks and quickly slipping it into her sports bra. She went on with her show, walking on her hands all the way back to her brother. "Umm I'm not exactly sure what he wants us to do next." Nellie whispered biting her lip. Was Will expecting everyone to eventually get caught? She shook her head No that's not it.
He watched as the unconscious Ringmaster was carried away. It hurt, but Will had warned him not to interfere. The young Ringmaster had been very aware of the possibilities of something similar happening, and so he'd taken precautions to ensure that his circus was protected. The bearded man stepped out from the alleyway and looked around.Sure enough, he spotted the trapeze artist and headed for her.
He still had most of his muscles left from his days as the Fallion circus, and he was quite an impressive sight as he approached the trapeze artist. "You Tallulah?" He grumbled. "I'm Arthur. Used to be the strongman. Will sent me. He said that if anything happened to him, I was to deliver a few messages. Well, something happened to him. He says to regroup at his apartment, and that you're to lead them. He'll try and find a way to contact you, but until then, rely on your gut." He disappeared then.
He made his way around to as many of the performers as he could find. Telling the contortionists to trust each other. Telling the lion tamer to channel the bravery of his lion, and that Will was actually only joking and to actually not be afraid to unleash the lion. Telling the girl who wasn't a performer to stick with her sister. Telling Raelee to mind her sister and that Will would see her soon. Telling them all not to worry, that he knew they'd be fine without him if anything happened, and that he was glad to have known them.
I figured that I didn't leave you guys with much. You done well with what I gave you! Do what you will- I'll just ask that you time skip to an hour or so later so I can post for Will.
After Raelee’s conversation with the strong man, she had to look for her sister. However, in the pit of her stomach, she truly believed her sister would meet her back at Will’s place. It was a given, to all meet back at Will’s, but what…why was it that Will sent the strong man to talk to her. He said he would see her soon, to look after her sister and protect her. Something just didn’t seem right. Raelee had left the crowd, had ran most of the way to Will’s apartment, and had entered the room to find her sister curled up on the couch with her face buried in folded arms. Raelee sighed softly and shut the door behind her, tears welling in her eyes as moved to the couch. Nono was the last to see him…she was with him when it all happened. Raelee wasn’t going to cry, she refused and swallowed the unwanted tears down.
The older sister carefully sat beside Nono and lifted her arms as the child-like girl layed down against her sister’s lap. Raelee could feel Nono’s tears streaming down her face. Would it be wrong to ask what happened? Or perhaps she should let her sister weep. Her fingers brushed through her sister’s hair as her eyes closed softly. In Nono’s hand was the bow tie, that flew from Will’s body on the rooftop and she clutched it as if it were Will himself. Raelee brushed her fingers once more and squeezed her sister’s shoulder.
“The other’s should be back soon…” Raelee pointed, her voice no louder than a whisper.
“Mm.” Nono murmured, her face buried in Rae’s lap. Nono had ran from the alley and ran right into the strong man. He had grabbed her shoulders and told her to listen to her sister. Nono was tired of people telling her to listen to her sister, but because it was Will’s orders, she was wise to obey.
“Are you hungry?” Raelee asked, and Nono shook her head. She didn’t want to eat, her stomach was empty and she feared she would lose her stomach’s content if she were to eat.
“He told me to run…I ran. He told me to…” Nono let out a frustraited cry and Raelee pulled her sister tightly against her chest.
“Shh, Nono. Shh…” Raelee hushed, rubbing her sister’s back. “It’s okay… he’ll be okay. He’s always okay…”
Re: A Show Like No Other
Given the situation, it would be awkward for several of the characters to post without Will having posted- those at the apartment, I mean. I'm in favor of waiting for iCat.
Re: A Show Like No Other
in all honesty, school is going on around this time of year. I can post often, but it all depends on icat. Will should have a post soon.
But it takes time.
-Shrugs-
Re: A Show Like No Other
Guys don't you think we could pick it up on the posting? I don't think 1 person a day is good enough.
Re: A Show Like No Other
Hey guys!
So, I'll be posting shortly. Any characters that were awaiting approval have now been accepted. If anyone has a reservation and still wishes to keep it, please mail me, otherwise I will presume you have had to drop out.
Re: A Show Like No Other
are we still waiting on a few more characters?
Re: A Show Like No Other
@lolliemack- awesome, thank you!
@Roo- I haven't got any ideas as of now.
I'm hoping to start tomorrow evening.
Re: A Show Like No Other
Hey icat! I'm glad you didn't disappear. I am working on Nono's profile, I was wondering if you had a particular face claim in mind, if not, I'm going to google search for a sister FC. :)
Re: A Show Like No Other
@iCat
I edited the profile with gifs
Re: A Show Like No Other
Hey guys!
Sorry for going AWOL, I was back at school yesterday and then I went to a concert last night, before being back in school today.
I'm hoping to get started some time this week. Maybe tomorrow night, but no promises.
Re: A Show Like No Other
So will we be starting soon?
Re: A Show Like No Other
I sent in the acrobat, hope you like it :)
And I was wondering if you had an idea for a FC for the acrobat's sister?
Re: A Show Like No Other
Sure- I'll have the new FC's up before long.
Re: A Show Like No Other
Alright, if you make a female magician, may I reserve her? :3
Re: A Show Like No Other
That's fine, I was just checking.
Re: A Show Like No Other
I am working on the acrobat pro now.
I'm thinking maybe she could have a sister. Eighteen years old. She could be someone who helps with costume design or cooking for the circus family. I want to play both roles and I can keep up with the both of them.
Re: A Show Like No Other
@Roo- You can reserve the acrobat. What about the younger sister you were planning on taking on? Have you thought anything about that character?
@dreammuffin- She's been taken. Would you consider taking on one of the clowns?
I like the idea of a magician and their assistant, so I might add those characters. It'll be one male and one female.
Re: A Show Like No Other
I would like to reserve the female acrobat, if she's open :) If not, would i be able to create a magician or illusionist? :3
Re: A Show Like No Other
Hm..
Well, I'll take the acrobat, and maybe I can add another character to the list? If not, I completely understand.
What about a Magician?
Re: A Show Like No Other
@Rpo- Sorry, I'm just after checking, and the Fortune Teller's already taken and a character submitted. Do any other characters interest you?
Re: A Show Like No Other
@Ava- Sure!
@Roo- Yes, you can reserve the fortune teller. Whose sister would your other character be? The Ringmaster is an only child, just so you know. And how old would she be?
