Personality:Daren is a quiet, sweet kid that loves the night sky. His favorite thing to look at though, is the countless numbers of stars that change its color, and light up the night world even without the moon. He spends a lot of time in high places watching and searching for constellations, often falling asleep and tumbling off his spot when the sun hits him. He's one to listen more than talk, and to give advice when it is asked of him. He's very intelligent, and is more than happy to show it off, again only when he is asked; he isn't a very prideful person, and likes to keep to himself.
Theme Song: "When You Say Nothing at All"

Daren sighed, running a hand through his hair, which absolutely refused to be tamed no matter how much time he spent trying to make it look nice. He looked around with a face his mother often described as uncaring, his nose initially overwhelmed with the smells of different Sparks. He closed his eyes for a moment, slowly regaining control of himself; it had been a good idea after all to eat a little before he had come. He listened to the soft heartbeats around him, finding only a few who weren't very nervous. A red bracelet in particular caught his eye as he opened them again. She was far different from the others. Even different from most of the other reds. He tilted his head sightly and walked over.

"Hello," He said, almost shyly. He wasn't one to start a conversation usually, so he was often one of the last to be noticed in formal occasions. "My name is Daren Hunter...."

[The pairings don't have to be spark one/vampire one, by the way.]

Lara gave Cora a small, wary smile before looking back up at the ceiling and rested one foot against the wall. Her hair cascaded over one shoulder, and reached down to her waist. She adjusted her black, fitted silk dress what was just slightlly short too short for her likings. Then she heard someone approaching her.

It was a boy with black hair and blue eyes that where a bit darker then her own. Instead of holding his head high and demanding something of her, he walked to her demurely and said hello before stating his name. The edges of her lips curled up, somewhat bitterly. She doubted this boy had enough spirit to keep up with her, but she gave him a shot. She rested a hand on her hip and narrowed her lips ever so slightly. "I'm Lara Nox. And don't be fooled, boy. I will not just roll over and allow myself to be owned by a vampire." She spoke with defiance and spirit, a daring look in her eye. Her heartbeat was as steady as her stare.

Lara watched Daren carefully, like a lion watching her prey. She noted his every movement. He seemed. . . genuine. Her brow furrowed, as though she was confused. Why would a kind vampire want her? She was sure he knew she would only give him a hard time. He said he wanted someone to balance out his quiet personality. Someone who wasn't afraid to state her mind. She laughed ruefully. "Stating my mind is what keeps getting me into trouble."

When he asked to see her bracelet, though, she hesitated. What if he bit her wrist without her permission. Usually, once the vampire decided this was the spark he wanted, he bit her and the spark submitted, allowing themselves to get bitten. Slowly she reached out her wrist, keeping it as far from his face as possible. Her bracelet was made of blood red rubies, with three lines cared into one of the rubies to show she had been through three Choosings without being picked.
Lara watched him carefully, waiting for his reaction. Maybe once he saw that she had gone through three of these before and not a single vampire wanted her, he would leave her. Her eyes narrowing, she bit down hard on her lip. A small drop of blood welled on her lip, setting off most of the vampires the second her blood left her skin. Many eyes turned onto her, and she felt the room still. Lara swallowed hard and curled up her lip, glaring at anyone who laid eyes on her defensively. Spark's blood was hard to resist while it coursed through their veins, let alone when they could see it.

Daren smiled a little more, gently taking her wrist and looking at the glittering crimson rubies. "Three?" He asked, head tilted, looking around,"Wouldn't you want to leave here? I would...The very idea of someone telling me everything I should or shouldn't do, it's kinda.... gross. Not that I can really say anything," he added stutteringly as he looked up again. She had bitten her lip; a small pearl of ruby red rested on her cheek for a moment before disappearing. He tensed with a quick glance at the other vampires before he continued, his grip tightening ever so slightly. "Sorry," He muttered, moving a little closer. He wasn't sure what she thought of this, but if she didn't want to be owned, this was a good way to make sure no one else came sniffing about,"I want to be around someone who won't take my words as commands, someone who will tell me if they want or don't want something. So, tell me this," He continued, watching her eyes, forcing himself to focus on anything but the smell of blood, "Do you want to come with me? Would you rather wait for one of those others, who all seem a little more agressive? Or do you want to stay here? As a human being, a person of thinking and intelligence, what do you want to do?" He spoke in a near whisper; most vampires wouldn't give this option, and fewer would see those who did as anything other than weak....

Lara glanced down when he asked if she wanted to leave. "Of corse. But all the vampires that are worth paying attention to always go for the pink or yellow bracelets." She whispered softly. Lara gave him a very slight smile. Why was the vampire talking to her? He seemed genuine and kind. "Ive never met a vampire so gentle, or consiterate."
He was giving her a choice? She ran a hand through her hair, bewildered. He was as different from ther others as she was. Pursung her lips, she sowly brushed her long curls over one shoulder and stepped close enough to him that her neck almost brushed his lips. Very mildly tamed defince showed in her eyes, but her actions showed that she had accepted him. She still stayed calm, but her hands trembled ever so slightly. She knew that a bite very a vampire was a very pleasent feeling, that it only hurt for a second. But she had seen the long fangs of a vampire before- it looked like it would be quite painful. once he bit her, he wouldnt smell the blood of anything else- spark, human, ect. Her blood would no longer be appealing to other vampires, showing that she would have already beenclaimed. She felt alright with him biting her, because she had chosen him, too. It wasnt just him picking out a new toy.

Lara honestly thought it would hurt more. When he sank his long fangs into her flesh, she only felt a very light pinch before she quickly relaxed in him arms. She felt mire open to him then she ever had for anyone at Hannigan. He had an arm around her waist, holdering her close as she shared her thick, red blood. She let her head fall to his shoulder, and rested a hand on his back. It felt as though nothing else mattered on the world exept him.
When he pulled his fangs from her skin, she lifted her head and looked at him. " Don't worry, you didnt take too much at all." She gave her vampire a gentle smile. He kissed her neck, closing the small wound, and she closeed her eyes for a moment. "I'm ready to go home with you." She told him softly, before turning to Cora and the vampire she was talking to. "Youd better trat her right" she growled athe vampire said then turned to Cora. "I hope I will see you again someday.". With that, she locked arns with Daren and started to leave with him. She wouldnt miss this place, that was for sure.

Daren smiled, keeping a half a step behind her as they left the room. She gave a quick growling warning to one of the other vampires, which made him laugh; he had never seen anyone, save other vampires, do that before. His fingers glided back and forth as they walked, his eyes closed. "Did you need to get any of your things before we go?" He asked, almost lazily as he realized what he was doing and stuffed his free hand in his pocket. "Clothing, books, any special items?" the last brought him back to the soft, dark wooden guitar sitting in his room, the keyboard and other instruments in the room he used as a work space/studio. He wondered if she played any instruments; if not, well....He'd have to teach her. Music was always best when shared with someone dear to the musician....

Lara gave Daren a gentle smil as she looked over to him. "Well, we really dont have much, other the a coupl outfits. Some of us have something from out parents, though. Stay here. I will be right back." She jogged away from him, her curls bouncing with each step she took. She left the room and went into the dorm dorms, passong by a pink bracelet. She slipped into her room and quicly gathered her few clothes into a black bag. She carefully wrapped the glass figurine from her mother in tissue paper, before slipping it in a safe pocket and running back to her vampire.
"Miss me?" She smiled, holding her head high and linking arms with him as they left Hannigan academy for the last time. She would never go back. She rested her head on Daren's shoulder.
"Do you like the piano or the cello?" She asked, out of the blue. She was exellent both, but only played them when she was sure nobody could hear her.

Why can't I move? I should be getting up by now.... Daren tried to will his limbs into moving, to get the fuzzy sounds around him to move into focus. He could vaguely hear his piano being played, a sound that was soothing to him and almost lulled him back into sleep before it stopped abruptly. There was some conversation as his mind went blank again.....

Abruptly he sat up, looking around for the source of the noise that had long since become silence. It was well into the night now; Lara, who was normally nearby when he awoke, was nowhere to be seen. He leapt from his sleeping place, pulling a shirt over his head as he went from room to room, looking and calling for her. Human servants stared at him as though he had lost his mind as he tore through the mansion in search of her. His throat burned with bloodthirst, but he forced the feeling from his mind as he headed outside, thinking maybe she had gone into the gardens, but once again he found nothing. Where did she go? She's always somewhere around the house.... He paled as the thought occurred to him:Did someone find out? Almost instantly he was back in his room again, forcing himself to slow down and think. He looked around the room; her scent was here. She had been the one playing piano, the scent was a lot stronger there so she had been sitting for some time. Another scent, one he vaguely recognized, was by the door. This second one had to have been the one who had been talking. A few things were knocked about, now that he was taking time to look around and analyze his surroundings. There was a struggle.... Furious now more than frightened, he followed the scent out of his room and down the stairs, everything he saw tinged a faint red......
