Quote relating to your character
Megan Kira Rockefeller
Preferred Name:
Megan will suffice.
Age:
Twenty-Three
Birthday:
February 1st
Sexuality:
Heterosexual. Although for her short few years in college she was a bit experimental and slept with a few girls and concluded she was definitely straight, or at least 90% straight and 10% gay. Doesn't really matter to her.
Occupation:
Megan was a former journalist for a couple years. She traveled and did a lot of pieces in Europe. Deciding she wanted to have something more concrete and closer to home, Megan has just started her career as a new anchor for the early mornings. She's been doing that for a solid eight months.
Much like her other siblings, Megan was born into privilege. Although with privilege there was always the pressure to be the perfect image of the family. Ever since birth Megan has practically lived in Ariana's shadow. Ariana being born two minutes prior to Megan. In a sense Megan has had a lot more pressure to be perfect and grand for her family. The pressure in general of living up to the Rockefeller name and with addition to, the competitiveness that her sister had embodied.
Through out her schooling career she was always in similar classes to her sister. If Megan was working on a try out for a certain club or sports team, Ariana would try out too. Often times this resulted in Megan being second string in a sport because her sister had the upper hand, or playing second flute because she wasn't that great. Name anything and there is likely the chance that Ariana could do it better. Slowly through out high school she came to terms with it, but that didn't change the fact that Megan had severe depression.
It was hard enough being expected to be the best that she could and knowing her best wasn't good enough. Then of course her sister was there to rub salt in the wounds if she wasn't as good. It was an insufferable time that led to many night of sobbing, or illegally going to the bars to drown her sorrows. It became more and more apparent that the only way she could cope with everything was through alcohol, which led to many nights passing out in the booth at a bar, or on a friends couch.
Eventually though, one of her friends had forced her to see the school counsellor. Upon seeing someone for help about her depression and alcohol abuse, she had weekly meetings with this woman. She actually grew quite close to her. It was then in her junior year that the counsellor suggested a creative outlet, possibly creative writing. For second semester of junior year she was put into a creative writing course and she achieved a ninety-five percent overall, and her teacher had suggested she take these other writing courses.
Come senior year, Megan found her niche in the school newspaper. She was the head editor of it and her place there had made her realized where she had wanted to go. Applying to many colleges for their journalism courses, she got accepted into at least five out of the ten she applied for. She didn't go to some fancy school like Ariana did, but Megan could see a future for herself and found something she was good at. It lifted her depression a little bit and she got to be free from the shadow she walked behind in high school.
Megan had finished her program in two years. She worked hard in the summer months as well, taking on the classes she needed. In her last semester she did a study abroad in Paris, and she absolutely loved it there. In fact she even stayed there to get a job internationally. For awhile she was just an assistant to one of the journalists and was a coffee fetcher, but she was in Europe and she couldn't complain. She got some practice in her field and the following year she became part of the crew. However, Megan began to get a little homesick, and decided she wanted to start a career working as a news anchor. It turned out she found somewhere near home and applied. She is now the news anchor for a local station. Nothing too big, and it really is nothing compared to the accomplishments of her sister, but so far since being home she's content.
Secret(s):
Megan slept with her current boss to get her most recent job. Usually she isn't about doing things that way, but she needed to be somewhat successful. To make things worse is that he's a married man.
