Introduction
Syryn is a large planet that is located in the Yirkaja Galaxy, which is located in a separate universe from our own. Earth and her people have yet to discover the ability to travel between universes and therefor have no knowledge of Syryn and her people. The planet of Syryn is nearly the same size as Jupiter. Syryn’s surface is covered by sparse vegetation and sparse wildlife. The people of Syryn are highly advanced. Their world is covered by towering buildings and hand-built robots. The environment of Syryn is much like Earth’s. The seasons are nearly the same, only a bit more intense.
There are only two different races that reside upon Syryn, the Azek and the Jajasal. The Azek resemble the Humans of earth, but stand around 5’5 to 6’3. Their hair color is usually lighter, staying either blonde or a light red color. Their eyes are usually either brown or blue. They all have varying personalities. The one thing that they all have in common is their small, odd crescent moon birthmark that is always located upon their back, left shoulder. Their intelligence is lower than that of the Jajasal, not being able to create any of the wonderful robotic or electronic creations that inhabit the world. The Jajasal are Elven like creatures that stand taller than the Azek at between 6’4 to 6’9. They have small ears, much like their fellow race, but they are slightly pointed at the tips. Their hair color is usually darker, staying either black or a dark brown. Their eye color is usually a pale green or a pale blue. The Jajasal have a great intelligence and are responsible for all of the creations that are found on Syryn. As with the people of Earth, there are slight variations amongst the races..normally their eye color. Both races are immortal.
The world of Syryn was actually once quite like Earth. They didn’t have towering cities, flying vehicles, robots, or anything like that. It wasn’t until a young Jajasal child began tinkering with odd scraps found around his family’s home. The young child’s genius was quickly acknowledged and was sent to the highly prestigious University of Tzin where only the most brilliant of the Jajasals are taught. As the child went through the levels of the school, he worked part time with one of the small electronics companies, Lisast. The young boy, as he learned more and more, began creating small prototype robots and electronics..the likes of which had yet to be seen. Now, the year of 3050, the world of Syryn is flourishing with robotic animals, computer screens that are seen in the air and that can be seen through, flying vehicles, and so very much more. The company Lisast is the ruling business that controls all of the electronics and robots.
The Story
In the year of 3050, the CEO of Lisast has been trying to convince the mastermind and genius behind all of their success to begin creating weapons in hopes of being able to rule the universe. The ,now young man, is refusing. The CEO has decided to bring in his daughter, in hopes that the young woman can convince the genius to do as her father wishes. What will happen when the two meet? Will they hate each other or will they perhaps fall in love? Roles Filled.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Day 29 of Solaris
Sitting here in my lab, in the early hours of the morning, brings my mind to my past. As I recall all of the things that I have done throughout my life, I can't help but feel..as if perhaps I should not have done so much in such a short time. Though I could never reveal this to anyone, I feel as if the world was perhaps not ready for such innovations. Perhaps I should go back to the beginning. Growing up in my parents home was not always easy. I was the youngest of three children. My oldest sibling is Ninquion. Nin is everything that I am not. He is very tall, standing at 6'9, whereas I stand towards the unusually short height of 6'0. He has always been surrounded by so very many people. He's never been made fun of. The list could go on for eternity. The middle child of our family is Terendis. My sister is such a kind hearted being. She worries for me, even now when I am an adult and making a living for myself. We have always been so very close and I hope that it shall never change. Then, there is me. I am the oddball of the family. I have black hair and gold eyes. I'm what most considers a genius. Though, for some time, my parents did not recognize my genius and treated me as a normal child. I took notice quickly of how they treated Nin. He was the oldest and when I was old enough to understand things, he was already a star athlete and was doing quite well in school. Better than what my parents had ever hoped for from him. I began realizing that my parents adored Nin and Teren..more so than they did about me.
Being a small child, I should not have had such thoughts. I dwelled upon these feelings for some time before coming to a conclusion. A plan in order to win the favor of my family. I would work hard in everything that I would ever do in my life. I would prove to them that I was worthy of the name Celairphen. As I slowly grew, as do all of my kind, I began finding that I enjoyed learning and tinkering with the odds and ends that I would find in my parents' home. It didn't take long before my room was almost overrun with strange little toys and the like. I invented a small gadget that allowed me to hear what was being said within the room next to where I was standing when it was in use. It was when my parents discovered this gadget that they seemed to realize my potential. They quickly arranged for me to be sent to Tzin, our most prestigious university. I lived there for some time and once reaching the legal working age, I even took up a part time job at one of the small companies that excelled in electronics and the like.
It didn't seem like no time before I had graduated and had accepted a full time job with Lisast. I was, at the time, a no named little runt trying to find their way in the world. Many of the inventors and workers that were employed at Lisast tended to make fun of me. They would search for reasons to try and torment me. I will admit..it was so very hard to ignore the comments and to work towards what I'd set out to do. I finally began to get noticed by the CEO of the company. My small inventions were quickly outdoing anything that anyone else could come up with. Before I knew what was happening, I was the only inventor left. They told me that they had no need for any other. I quickly began inventing bridges that seemed to float in the air..computers that one only needed to wear the companion eyepiece in order to see and use it. I had even created a prototype software that would allow any of the robots that he installed it into to actually learn and feel. It is exactly that program that has me so frustrated right now. The CEO has seen some potential for my program. He thinks that it would be better if we integrated the software into weapons. WEAPONS. I of course was not allowed to answer right away and I don't plan on agreeing to such madness. I created the software so that I could create artificial wildlife. Our planet lacks any sort of animal besides bugs or small fish and I want so badly to bring life to our world. I understand that I've created almost every electronic that is found in the peoples homes and yet..I just can't bring myself to create such a monstrosity.
Ithrion stopped typing and slowly removed the eyepiece that was sitting in his ear. The eyepiece was dark in color, the part that sat in the user's ear was small..almost appearing to be a wireless headset that was once used for wireless phones. Once the device was turned on, a almost clear, small square stretched over the eye closest to the electronic device, allowing the user to see their computer and interact with it. Ithrion looked around his lab for a moment. Even though he spent most of his time inside, and even having living quarters inside, it was quite neat looking. He spotted a small robotic ferret like creature seemingly asleep upon one of the large desks. "Start up sequence 0001." Ithrion said softly. Almost instantly, the ferret's light blue glowing eyes came on and the creature turned his head towards his creator. "Yes sir? What can I do for you?" the creature asked, eyeing the being that had created him. "I want you to come with me to the meeting. I want you to act as if you haven't had the upgrade..understand Syfin?" Ithrion stood and slowly began walking towards the large metal door. "Of course sir. If you think it best, of course." the creature ran after Ithrion and quickly climbed up to rest around the man's slender neck. As the metal door slid open, Ithrion turned down the security level so that any of his assistants could enter if they arrived before he did.
Ithrion slowly made his way throughout the large building. He wasn't looking forward to the meeting and had even briefly wondered about just not going. Of course that would only get him into trouble. It seemed like forever before he arrived at the large office. The CEO's assistant seemed to be awaiting Ithrion as he walked in. "Mr. Devereux has been expecting you Mr. Celaiphen. Go right on in." the tall woman said, giving Ithrion a fake smile. Ithrion payed the woman little mind and slowly walked into the office. The first thing that he noticed was that there was a woman in the office with his boss. Trying to ignore her presence, Ithrion approached the desk. Mr. Devereux smiled brightly at his inventor and told him to sit. Ithrion did as he was told, sitting onto one of the plush chairs that he rarely sat in. The two made small talk, Mr. Devereux even introducing the woman as his daughter, Lorelei. Not too long after the introductions, the woman left. "I wanted to see if you'd considered making those weapons. It would only bring you more greatness." Mr. Devereux said. Ithrion interrupted his boss, not allowing him to finish. "No. That is something that I'm not willing to do. We have no need for such things. We already have weapons and I don't see the need for the kind that you are wanting. The software that I have created is for the creation of wildlife..and that's all I'll ever allow it to be used for." The younger man fell silent, watching as his boss grew angry. Ithrion, deciding that it was best if he left, quickly got up and left the office. Once he was safely far from the large office, he slowed his gait. The halls were a bit busier now as many were arriving for work. Ithrion wasn't really paying too much attention to his surroundings. The next thing he knew, he'd bumped into someone. "I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you alright?" Ithrion asked. As he looked to see who he'd ran into, his golden eyes slightly widened as he realized who it was. Lorelei Devereux.
One of the robots, made by some inventor at Lisast, came into the girl's room. It opened the curtains to the window in her purple room. The light shown through the window was what awoke her. Lorelei reached over and tapped a button on her desk, next to her bed. A green light appeared on the ceiling, displaying the time. Crap. She only had an hour until her father would take her to Lisast. Slowly getting up, she made her way over to her closet, pressing her hand against a sky blue florescent scanner. Lights in the closet went on, the glass automatic door opened. "Business wears." Her voice was quiet and muzzled, as she still wasn't fully away just yet. The rotators moved, spinning the clothing to the right. There were two outfits that stopped in front of her. One was a business attire and the other was a steampunk-like dress. She went for the dress; the other didn't fit her, personality wise.
She took the steampunk dress out of her closet, grabbing some extra items, and headed to her bathroom to take a shower. It was about thirty minutes after when she had gotten out of the shower, dressed, hair and make-up done, all she needed now was to go down stairs to the kitchen and eat breakfast. Once in the kitchen, she got a simple meal, a piece of cinnamon toast and orange juice. Her father walked in only a few moments after she sat down to eat. “Good morning Father.” She said polite as ever, her father acknowledge her by a nod when he sat down to read the news on his digidiary, a tablet like item.
“We’ll be leaving very soon. Be sure to have everything that’ll keep you busy.” Micah told his daughter, getting up from his seat only minutes after he sat down. “Your mother is still ill. Pay her a visit before we leave.” Lorelei nodded, finishing up her breakfast. Her mother has been ill for a week now, but it’s nothing to serious, she should be better in another day or two.
Lorelei and her father walked into the Lisast Company building about half an hour after they left home. Every employee the two walked by greeted Micah, simply paying no mind to the girl trailing behind him. Once on the top floor and in Micah’s office, he took a seat at his large desk. Lorelei stood by her father, slightly slouched over, rocking back-and-forth on her heels. “Lorelei, take a seat, please. It’s unlady-like to keep standing like that. ” Her parents had always taught her to be lady-like and proper. She hated it, no way to express herself, that’s why she sneaks out most nights, to be herself. “Yes, father.” She gave him a light nod and then took a seat in one of the plush chairs that were in front of the desk.
A few minutes later a tall Jajasal male walked into the office, instantly Lorelei stood up, as did her father. “Ah, Mister Celairphen, please take a seat.” Micah smiled brightly, motioning to the empty seat next to Lorelei. The two made small talk, before he introduced his daughter. “Oh, I would like to introduce you to my daughter, Lorelei.” He gestured to her and then fixed the tie of his suit. Lorelei then stood up and looked at Ithrion, quickly noticing his golden eyes. “Please to meet you Mr. Celairphen.” She did a slightly curtsy before turning to her father. “Father, I would like to go around and visit your Company.” She asked and he waved her off, indicating that she was allowed to go.
As soon as Lorelei was a bit away from the office, she let out a somewhat loud sigh. “Why am I even here?” She groaned, her voice questioning. “This is the first time ever that I was even brought here, so why now of all reasons?” She was a tad annoyed with her father’s sudden request for her coming, without an explanation. She closed her eyes, trying to relax herself before she became too loud and made a scene. The next thing she knew, someone bumped into her, or she had bumped into someone. "I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you alright?" A male voice rang out. When she looked up to see who she bumped into, she saw none other than Mr. Celairphen. She hadn’t gotten his first name so… “Ah, yes I’m quite alright, thank you. But I wasn’t looking where I was heading either, so no need to worry.” She gave him light smile, before stepping off the side, thinking he needed to be somewhere.
As Ithrion stood watching the girl before him, he wondered about her. Was she just like her father? Or perhaps she wasn't. He doubted that he would ever know. “Ah, yes I’m quite alright, thank you. But I wasn’t looking where I was heading either, so no need to worry.” Lorelei said, smiling. Ithrion returned the smile, but then tilted his head slightly to the side as the girl stepped out of his way. Ithrion had been about to say something to Lorelei when he heard Micah speaking. He quickly moved a step back, making sure that there was plenty of room between the two. The Jajasal turned his pale golden eyes to focus upon his boss. He listened as the man apologized and yet..Ithrion could tell that it wasn't sincere. The smile that he'd had on his face only moments before had disappeared. He only nodded at his boss. Before anything else was said, a tall Azek came running down the hall towards the small group. The man was tripping over himself as he came to a stop near the three beings. "I..I'm..sorry to interrupt Ithrion." the man paused for a short moment, eyeing Micah before continuing. "The readings that we just got back for the EVPS Bridge. You'll want to take a look at the readings, sir." Ithrion nodded, signaling for the assistant to take his leave. He watched as the Azek took off back down the hallway. "I guess this is where I leave you. Good day." he said as he turned, following the assistant down the hall. As Ithrion was walking away, the robotic ferret that had still been sitting upon his shoulders eyed the girl that was standing with Micah, his blue eyes glowing. The robot tilted his head, wondering who this girl was.
As they turned the corner, Syfin turned back around. Ithrion made his way quickly down the hall and to his lab. He entered and quickly made his way to one of the many desks that resided in the large room. Syfin quickly jumped off of his creator's shoulders and sat down upon the desk. Ithrion quickly picked up the discarded eyepiece that he'd been using earlier that morning. He quickly flicked the small item on, watching as he began seeing his computer. His slim fingers moved quickly as he began typing, looking for anything that would tell him the reason for his assistant to have disturbed him.
After Ithrion had parted ways with Micah and his daughter, the man turned to his daughter. "Lorelei, why don't you come back to the office. There is something that I wish to discuss with you." he said, leaving no room for debate. He led the way back up to the large office. As he entered, he waited until his daughter was in the room before closing and locking the door. "Sit." he said, walking to his large desk. He took a seat in his large chair, eyeing his daughter. "Lorelei..There's a reason that I brought you to work with me today. The Jajasal that you met, Ithrion Celairphen, well he's the inventor that has made all of this possible. I know that you've heard me talk about him before. He's insanely brilliant. He's recently began working on a new software that is supposed to allow robots the ability to think..to learn. I..we..need him to apply that new software to the robots that protect us. The police force and the like. He refuses, saying that he would only be creating weapons. That isn't true. We would then live in a world that has no crime. Can you imagine how better a world that would be? I'm afraid that I've been unable to get the boy to see clearly. That's where you come in. You will convince him to finish the software and apply it to the new police forces. To the new military. I don't care how you convince him. Just get it done. Sleep with him if you have to. We need that upgrade. Do you understand?" he said, staring at his daughter. "Now, I want you to head down to his laboratory. If something is wrong with the bridge, he'll be working in there. Go spend some time with him. Make him like you. Have my assistant take you down." he said, signaling that their conversation was over. Micah waited until Lorelei was almost out of the room before adding, "I don't want you back up here until six o'clock...when we'll be heading home."
The minute Ithrion was out of sight, her father spoke again. "Lorelei, why don't you come back to the office. There is something that I wish to discuss with you." he said, leaving no room for debate. Lorelei followed her father back to his office. Once inside, he told her to sit, and so she did. As her father explained the reason why she was here, Lorelei remained quiet; knowing if she spoke or argued, her father would scold her. Her cheeks turned a little pink by the fact that her father is allowing her to sleep with a man she barely knows just to convince him of doing something. Though she couldn’t reject the task her father wanted her to do, he would most likely disown her for disobeying him and kick her out. He has threatened that once or twice before when she didn’t listen to him. He has done that to her older brother, Zaydack, and she hasn’t seen him since. Lorelei’s mind slipped, it was only when her father repeated himself, she replied. “Do you understand?" he said, staring at his daughter.” She blinked, looking up at her father. “I…I understand, father.” She went quiet again, as her father told her what to do now. When she knew that the discussion was over, she got up from the chair and started walking to the door. She stopped, looking back to her father. "I don't want you back up here until six o'clock...when we'll be heading home." Nodding, she opened the door and left. She looked to the assistant, letting out a deep sigh.
As Micah's assistant lead Lorelei down to the laboratory, she took in her surroundings. Large office rooms, though not as big as her fathers; a few small break rooms here and there, a receptionist area in the center of each floor. Once they were at the laboratory, Lorelei looked to the female assistant. "You can leave now. I have the rest under control." With that, she walked through the big metal sliding door into the laboratory. The laboratory was huge, it probably took up half of the Lisast Company building's bottom floors. There were only a few Jajasals and Azeks in the large area. "Excuse me...Excuse me, but can you..." They all ignored her, busy doing other things. Rolling her eyes, she ventured off around the lab, trying to find Ithrion.
Ithrion gently tapped the girl on the shoulder. He was eyeing her with his golden eyes. "Are you looking for someone?" he asked softly. Now that he was looking at her, Ithrion could see just how pretty that Lorelei was. He was wary of her because of who her father was. Micah wasn't always a kind person and Ithrion wanted as little to do with him as possible. He almost wanted to ask the girl to leave his area but held back. He wanted to see what she was doing in the lab. After listening to her, Syfin said, "Sir, the scans are ready." Ithrion walked away from Lorelei and to his desk. He began looking over the scans, his face slightly troubled. It was looking more like he was going to have to go out to the Bridge which he really didn't want to have to do. He could feel Lorelei standing near him. He turned to look at her, regarding her carefully. He usually would make most people uncomfortable because he usually tended to get quiet and would try to figure out what was going on in someone else's mind. He was doing that now. Syfin was a bit closer now, also watching the girl. "Did you need something, Ms. Devereux? I can't imagine that staying down here by yourself all day would be your idea of a fun day." he said, smiling.
Feeling someone gently tap her shoulder, Lorelei turned around seeing Ithrion. “Oh yeah, I was looking for you actually.” She told him with a sweet smile. Observing carefully she noticed how his pale golden eyes really stood out from his black hair. Then, the little robotic creature she saw on Ithrion’s shoulder before came up to him and told him that some scans or something was ready. “What is that?” She asked, but he already started to head off. Thinking for an instant, Lorelei decided to follow him. Back at his desk, she quietly observed Ithrion detecting some form of trouble. “What’s wrong?” She enquired. Though when he turned around and looked at her, she became quiet; which was unusual since she loves to talk. Hearing Ithrion question why she was down in the Laboratory as it wouldn’t be fun and if she needed anything. “Well I…umm” Remembering what her father told her to do, Lorelei sighed, trying not to sigh too loudly. “Well, this is my first time ever being in Lisast, so I thought I’d check the whole place out, ya’know.” She smiled again, attempting to think of something else to say. “Oh, I really don’t need anything. I just…wanted to see the Lab is all.” She told him, somehow not being able to take her eyes off of his. “By the way, you can call me Lorelei instead of Ms. Devereux.” She let out a little giggle; it was always weird hearing people call her ‘Ms. Devereux’. “Actually, I do have something I’d like to ask you. What’s that?” She pointed to the robotic creature, as it stared at her.
He paused for a moment, eyeing the woman. "Do not tell me that you have never seen any of the robotic animals..I know that it is one of the newer projects..but it was highly televised thanks to your father." He turned away from her once again and began gathering a few things. His bag was quickly put about his body and then he grabbed the eyepiece that would allow him to access his computer from anywhere. He placed the small item over his ear, his dark hair hiding it easily. He then turned back around to Lorelei. "I've got to head out to the EVPS Bridge. There are a couple of problems that I noticed with it so I've got to try to fix them before they get too bad." He hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I can't leave you here, running about my lab. If you want, I suppose you could come with us?"
She watched as Ithrion packed his bag, then place something over his ear. She couldn't tell easy it was, as his back was to her, but whatever it was, his dark hair covered it. He faced her again, "I've got to head out to the EVPS Bridge. There are a couple of problems that I noticed with it so I've got to try to fix them before they get too bad." When he stopped, Lorelei opened her mouth, "I could-" but was cut off "I can't leave you here, running about my lab. If you want, I suppose you could come with us?" What she was about to say was that she could leave the lab and explore some other part of L, but now that he offered to take her with them, she changed her mind. "I'd love to come with you two." She said, smiling sweetly.
Her father wouldn't be very pleased to know that she left the building. Even more so that she went to one of the sites that is having a problem. As he'd say she would only be in the way and possibly just cause more trouble that what's already there. But Lorelei going care how angry her father will be when he finds out. After ask, he did say to practically follow Ithrion around and get him to agreed to using his idea for weapons.
It didn't seem to take long before they'd entered into a large vehicle bay. He led the way over to a shinning motorcycle sat parked. Ithrion picked up a helmet and handed it over to the woman. "Here, put this on. I won't have your father trying to have my head should something happen to you." He got onto the vehicle and waited patiently for Lorelei to get on behind him. He suddenly turned back, looking at her. "He's a ferret." He said, suddenly realizing he'd never answered her earlier question.
It was out of the blue and he was certain that it would have thrown her off for a moment. However, that was how he tended to be. Ithrion pulled out a pair of sunglasses and put them on. He glanced back at Lorelei once again before starting the machine. The next moment, he allowed them to nearly zip out of the bay. He needed to get to the bridge as quickly as possible. As he pulled them onto the road, the wind whipped about them as he increased their speed. It was times like these that Ithrion felt free. As if he had no care in the world. A small smile was on his face as they zipped about the city.
It didn't seem to take them long to arrive at the bridge. Ithrion slowed the motorcycle to a stop in a parking lot that was nearby. He turned the machine off and pulled the sunglasses from his face. He waited for Lorelei to get off and then followed her. "Stay close and do as I say." He said before taking off towards the bridge quickly.
Soon enough, they entered a large vehicle bay where Ithrion went over to a motorcycle. As he handed her a helmet, which she hesitantly took. "Here, put this on. I won't have your father trying to have my head should something happen to you." After he got onto the motorcycle, she swung her leg over to get on behind him. She had never ridden a motorcycle before, so she had no idea where she was suppose to hold on. Lorelei he just ended up grabbing the side of Ithrion's shirt (or jacket). Her turned to look back at her and said, "He's a ferret." Which slightly confused the girl for a moment, before realizing he meant that, that was what kind of robotic animal Syfin was.
When Ithrion started the motorcycle, she gripped his shirt (or jacket) harder, as they left out of the bay. It wasn't until he zipped down the road, speed increasing, that she lurched forward, her arms going around his stomach, as she held on tightly. Lorelei knew they needed to get to the bridge right away, but since she has never been on a motorcycle before, she was a bit scared at the speed they were going at. She felt herself tighten her hold around Ithrion, slightly wondering if he noticed.
Once they arrived at the bridge site, Lorelei got off the motorcycle, but not without almost tripping as she did so. "Stay close and do as I say." Ithrion told her, then took off towards the bridge quickly. His back was to her, but she gave him a two fingered salute and said, "Aye aye, captain" before following after him once again.

Question: Does Syryn have things like we do today? Since after all it's set far into the future, on a different planet. For example; a mall, concerts, ect..
