Quiet and generally cheerful, though often withdrawn in thought. He is kind and generous with others and helpful when possible. When engaged in training, exercise, or combat, he is aggressively focused and determinedly unyielding. Ultimately he follows the path that is before him and sets all other responsibilities or loyalties subordinate to his original task.
He always wears a light brown cloak made of a material resembling burlap but more comfortable and durable. His pants and tunic are made from the same material, but woven much more tightly making their sturdiness increased over that of the cloak. His shoes are very similar to moccasins and his belt is a 1 inch thick rope made of a white thread that is wound twice around his waist. He wears a white cloth shirt underneath his tunic and a leather sheath under the shirt against his skin. The strap for the sheath runs across his chest covering the mark, and the sheath rests in the small of his back, holding a 6 inch blade made of a single piece of a reddish gray metal.
Many decades prior, while serving in the military of Vado, the man called "Erdu" perished in a battle in the northern region of the empire. His body lay on the field for some time, decomposing ingloriously until it was collected and he found himself reanimated with no memory of any life prior to awaking in a cold stone chamber deep within the mountain range.
Though he could not explain how he had arrived, the meaning of the hand-shaped burn mark on his chest, or the means by which he had been clothed, he felt no anxiety. Instead his soul was filled with a calming peace as memories began filling his mind slowly. He was a fighter. He had trained for many years in these mountains to become the best combatant possible, forsaking all material possessions and luxuries for discipline and skill. His master, sealed in his tomb behind the walls of the chamber, gave him his name and purpose before his death.
"From my tongue, I name you Erdu. Go and discover yourself as you continue your training."
The memories were as vivid as any that were real, driving Erdu to leave the mountains and his only home and pursue the path before him. He has never questioned his physical or mental state, holding them to be the legitimate composite of his own self, until recently.
A near-death experience in which his heart had been stopped momentarily awoke Erdu's mind to the reality that all is not what it seems. Now, as change has taken place in more ways than he knows, he is determined to unveil his own soul as he continues to train, journey, and defend those who can not defend themselves.
