Member of the Shriah Order, motive unknown.
To an observer, Selene is the most calm and unbothered of people, forever unaffected by the events that take place around her. She is always polite, and often smiling. Her serenity can actually create something of a dissonance, since she tends to maintain it even when the most placid of others have become angry or upset. She rarely speaks, and occasionally the silence combined with her measured expressions unnerves people used to watching their foes fall into well-baited traps. Indeed, it would seem that she remains aloof from all such maneuvering, though anyone who understands the Order even a bit knows that this is perhaps not as much the case as it would appear. Only infrequently does she express opinion on anything, and even then not on important matters.
Despite all this, there is an odd sort of friendliness to the young woman, and it is difficult not to feel at ease in her company. It is obvious she keeps her fair share of secrets, but she does not seem to demand that any be revealed to her either. She is an odd mixture of traits of the naive and traits of the jaded; though she has an instinctive understanding of when information is being withheld, and perhaps a sharper wit than most, she is at heart a creature of kindness and mercy-tempered courage. The strangest things seem to strike her as odd; commonly-accepted things like racism and market systems seem to her illogical and wasteful at best, yet the minutiae of political maneuvering are as easily-read as a childhood novel.
Selene is a natural mage, and her aptitude is as much a problem as it is a boon. Her almost trancelike calm is actually a prerequisite. Without it, or in situations too emotionally-charged, she risks losing control of her power. Her raw potential is considered impressive even within her order, but she has to be constantly vigilant for fear of turning into a wild mage, little more than a feral beast, and for this reason much of what she can do is truthfully beyond her conscious access.
To protect herself in those situations where employing her spellcasting would be difficult or problematic, she has also learned her Order's brand of martial arts, and can do a good amount of damage to an opponent using nothing but her bare hands. She generally tries to disrupt the energy flow in the body by contact with particular pressure points, and for this reason, her strikes are most often lighter than one would expect, and a person might not realize that they are effectively crippled until it's far too late.
Under her loose dress, she wears clothing much more conducive to fighting, but this is not information she frequently discloses.
Other than that, she carries a small pouch of money, a waterskin, and naught else, believing that to live simply is the best way to go about things.
