Personality:
A snake through and through. Nicholas is cold blooded and manipulative in the extreme, with no morals to compromise. He likes to think of himself as an unbiased and objective executor of the law. He is self interested and cares little for others save as amusements. However, despite all this he has a rigid code of honour and is known to be incorruptible and it was this attribute that earnt him a place at the King’s side. Nicholas is cowardly and dishonest, but he will never betray one to whom his loyalty is pledged. Intelligent and sharp witted, he prefers to avoid confrontation and attack his opponents through others, leaving himself above suspicion.

To maintain his position as Lord High Chancellor and perhaps, when the time is right, take the throne.

History

Biography:
A career politician, Nicholas was tutored from birth for the job of Lord High Chancellor and had an unremarkable career, rising to become a notable judge and minister in the parliament before the invasion. Immediately following the coup and the chaos that ensued, Nicholas made his grab for power, having many of his former contemporaries imprisoned under trumped up charges or slandered to destroy their credibility. He has clung onto his position with all his power, quickly cutting down all pretenders to the seat of Lord High Chancellor.
