Battle Cry: "Eyes on, Midorimaru!"

========================================================================================================================================
Combat Data:

========================================================================================================================================
Image
Armor Spirit: Midorimaru
Description: A powerful armor spirit of the Maru family, Midorimaru is bonded with Nazku and cannot be removed. She gives Nazku the ability to endure attacks and resist the effects of others, to be a strong and steadfast mountain. In addition, she gives him access to the abilities and enhancements that come with being bonded with Spirit Armors, such as the ability to turn his body into that of a green fox thanks to the Maru Family Spirit Power.

Power: Nature Control
Description: Having long acquired Level 1 Affinity with Midorimaru, Nazku has the ability to control and manipulate nature and the earth. He could call forth large plants and rocks, and has the power to even raise an entire island from the depths. It is also said that this power gives him a strong defense. Like others bonded to Maru family spirits, the combat form he generates is basically just him with fox ears and a tail.

Weapon: Staff
Description: A seemingly ordinary Wooden Staff, it is actually created from having Level 2 Affinity with Midorimaru. He can use it to block attacks a normal wooden staff could never hope to, and even use it to deflect powerful energy blasts. It is created from the Spirit itself, and therefore it often speaks during combat.

As for the Special Power he received from Level 2, it would be a sort of limited precognition that lets him predict what the opponent is likely to do by seeing various futures.

Armor Spirit: Light Mode
Description: Appearing as Black Clothing as seen above, it is actually incredibly thick and protective. Temperature problems are seriously reduced, the user is protected from lethal harm so long as it has energy and takes reduced damage, as well as gaining increased strength and magic power. Finally, he is able to use the cloth for a variety of purposes, many of which are a secret even to this day. This requires a Level 3 Affinity.
Image
Armor Spirit: Heavy Mode
Description: His body and physical form are pulled into a green vortex, hidden away as a symbol of a leaf appears written in green light. The vortex fades, revealing a mecha that is nearly twice as big as him, colored green and brown, and possesses advanced weapons, magic ability, and high resistances. It cannot be controlled by anyone other then Nazku, and is considered very amped up. To use this, a Level 4 Affinity is required. Notably, the "mecha" appearance tends to appear both advanced, and ancient.

Spirit: Midorimaru
Description: One of the elder Maru family Spirits, she is actually capable of taking human form as seen to the side, and possesses all the abilities that her master also has. An extremely loyal fox Armor Spirit, she tends to remain calm and clearheaded, though certain things can upset her. Being highly attuned singularly to the Earth Element, she has strong fortitude and stamina, as well as endurance and strength.

He has other tools and weapons as well, but those are his signature weapons and abilities.

========================================================================================================================================
Personal Data:

========================================================================================================================================

History: Nazku's family has long since held the Armor Spirit Midorimaru, having passed it down from generation to generation. Typically speaking, Midorimaru is exceptional on defense and also reasonable on offense, only perhaps lacking in ranged abilities and attacks. However, this makes him great for the role his family has always done, guarding and protecting Sanctuary, a collection of archives, lore, artifacts, secrets, and even Armor Spirits.

It also works as a boarding house for those who have nowhere to go, especially children who inherited an Armor Spirit from their parents who died early, or who were abandoned after accidentally finding and bonding with an Armor Spirit and being treated as a monster.

Although on occasion he does leave Sanctuary, he almost always is found only there.

Personality Traits: Calm, dependable, intelligent, reliable, smart.

Strengths: Cool headed, intelligent, wise.

Weaknesses: Duty bound, compassionate, strict.

Desires: To protect and preserve, to help people and maintain the peace.

Fears: Having to choose between saving lives and saving the Sanctuary, not being able to help people out there because he has to protect the Sanctuary, and he worries about the lives of his charges. He also worries that Jaune and Kimaru will never learn their lessons.

So begins...

(Intro post is up! I think its actually shorter then my normal intro posts, but still larger then my normal posts. Anyways, as usually people can still join and start even after we started. Also, surprisingly no real action in this one unlike my usual ones, but...its certainly not far behind...anyways, enjoy!)

The morning sun rose in the air on what appeared to be a peaceful day, with a man looking out over the landscape from his designated spot. Right now, he was keeping watch, but he sensed something was amiss....no, he knew exactly what that something was.

Nazku could sense it. Akamaru was awake.

"Well now Jaune, did you really think that I wouldn't notice you sneaking out this time?"

Nazku looked over to some trees, where a blonde haired boy came out holding his shoes and socks.

"Did you really think going down barefoot would make me not notice you sneaking out this time? Jaune, you really are too reckless".

"I just got unlucky this time!"

"Anyways, you going out to search for Akamaru right? Don't you think that is a bit disasterous at the moment? We don't even know who he has been bonded to".

"Well, me and Kimaru are not going to give up so easily!"

Suddenly, while holding Kimaru in his hands, Jaune jumped up into the air...and was litterally being blown away by the wind toward the city.

"Seriously? That fool...he better hope no one was watching....hmm?"

That was when Nazku noticed a few dark pressences heading toward the city, and he started to get a bad feeling all of a sudden.

"Something really bad is going to happen today".

Meanwhile...some time ago...

Shinku woke up gasping for air, having experienced just yet another bad dream. Although this time the dream was different then the ones he usually had, it was still bad because he remembered something about getting murdered...and how real it felt.

BOlting upward from shock, he thought for a moment based on his memories it was not a dream, but right now he was lying in his bed. He was definently in his bed, in his room, in his house very much not in pain and alive. That said, he didn't remember getting home or falling asleep so early. Instead of wearing his usual sleepwear, he was also naked though it was hot so sometimes he did that, and his clothes he wore yesterday were scattered around, covered in blood while a strange red fox was sleeping still right on top...of...him...

"Eh?! What?! How?!?!"

And then, as he became aware of those things, the shock caused him to crawl backwards in a bolt, surprised at the red fox and the bloody clothes. One he had no idea how it was linked to another, but the bloody clothes indicated that yesterday was not a dream. However, he was fine. He was not dead, was not seriously injured, was not even in a hospital. Certain, feeling all over his body, he felt no signs of injury...although, he did feel like his skin was...smoother? Nicer? He wasn't entirely sure, but it felt that way. But also...

"....mnmm....oh, good morning Shin-kun".

"What the...what is this? Who are you, Akamaru?! What happen....wait, why do I know your name?"

However, when he looked back at Akamaru...he was now in human form, with red hair, red eyes, and appeared to be about four years younger then him, at least in terms of appearance. However, as Shinku became more and more awake, he also began to remember things. Or rather, it was more like he was becoming aware of information that had been put into his head earlier.

Of course, Shinku still panicked a bit from Akamaru suddenly being in human form naked in his bed, that he didn't notice for a few seconds he had sat down on his own tail...and that Shinku himself now had a tail, and fox ears.

Some time later...

Shinku looked back at Akamaru, wearing one of Shinku's T shirts which was too large for Akamaru's human form to a degree that the bottom went to his knees, while Shinku had gotten dressed in a T shirt and shorts. Both of them were sitting in a kneeling position across each other with a short small table in the middle, that with their current sitting position was a perfect height.

"...and thats everything, right? Everything you need to explain to me?"

"Yeeep! I think so!"

"You think so....well, I guess its good enough. And, thanks again for saving my life".

Shinku said that, while he watched Akamaru's tail sway energeticly and happily. He didn't think that foxes would do that with their tails like dogs did, but then again, he probably shouldn't compare Akamaru to normal foxes. Though, like an animal, and a spirit animal at that, it took Shinku awhile to even get Akamaru into a shirt.

After all, foxes dont wear clothes, and based on what Shinku learned, Akamaru was sealed away for some reason he supposedly "forgot" between 300-500 years ago at least, with a likely possibility it was longer. When spirits were still commonly believed in to a strong extent, and no one was bothered by him running around like that. As a result, Akamaru was not really adjusted at all to modern times yet, though supposedly he got some flashes of information when they bonded.

Apparently, after bonding the previous night, Shinku collapsed and fell into something called Stasis Sleep. Well, Shinku attributed it to being like that, it was actually called Soleo, some long lost original word that was its name. Essentially, someone who was critically injured, if out of combat or no longer able to fight and did not have adreniline pumping anymore, would fall into a deep sleep while their woulds rapidly healed at an incredible rate. The more serious the injury, the faster the heal, though it took a lot of energy and was longer.

Of course, all this information was useful for Shinku, since it determined that Akamaru, despite his personality and appearance in human form, was quite old and confirmed some of his story, and it also helped explain how Shinku was still alive...though admittedly, he thought it was a miracle he was not immediately killed from the impact of the weapon that killer used on him. Especially since, according to Akamaru, who he nicknamed Aka-kun, Aka-chan, and Aka depending on the situation, the one who killed him was also an Armor Spirit user.

"That explains why he was so strong and able to move so quickly. I am not olympics level sure, but I was like a bug before him".

Surprisingly, instead of joking though, the words that came out next were fairly serious.

"You are taking this rather well, you know? Even from long ago, most people would have panicked way more...and you didn't even panic at the weird part, you were just startled from waking up in bed with me naked. Usually, people start panicking around the parts where 'Supernatural dangers will now become a much more frequent part of your life' or 'we might get hunted down by evil Armor Spirit users or rogue Armor Spirits' or 'Goblis and other spirit monsters' parts".

"Akamaru...hold on, you have the ability to shape shift right?"

"No no. I can just transform between a fox and human form, as well as the combat forms. Speaking of which, do you have a weapon in mind? Please dont just be a simple sword".

"Well, it is a sword but..."

"...everyone always goes with the sword".

Shinku suddenly took out a notebook and pencil, and made a quick sketch before showing it to Akamaru along with a few notes for special techniques and tricks.

"Oh, this seems pretty cool actually".

"Yes...but if you can turn into a human form, cant you add clothes?"

"Nope. Humanoid Spirits can though. However, I can store clothing inside my soul, so if we get some I could".

"Do you have any right now? Cause you cant go out wearing my oversized shirts only".

"If we are staying inside there is no point, and if you want me to blend in outside there really is no point because its super old and would stand out, at least if your clothes are anything to go by. That said, I can store myself inside your soul like this so...".

Suddenly, Akamaru turned into red light and flew rapidly into Shinku's chest. The shirt he had been wearing before was left behind, now laying on the ground. It seemed he really couldn't take objects with him unless he stored them inside his own soul. Shinku was not happy, partially because it meant it would eat into his expenses.

"Our minds are linked also, so we can communicate through there. Anyways, cant we go outside and play? I could stay in my fox form".

The fact that you already entered my soul means you already know the answer. Its bad enough that I have to miss school today, but I am also low on groceries and such. And I haven't taken a bath yet either...Soleo might heal quickly, but it made my body sweat a bit...too bad I cant go to a bathhouse...

"You know, its pretty amazing that the school was perfectly okay with this and didn't ask for a guardian or anything at all...oh....wait, sorry..."

It's fine...between my circumstances, and the fact that I have had perfect attendance and perfect grades so far, I guess that earned me that trust. Though I was surprised they said it would not even count towards my perfect attendance...

Unfortunately, although Akamaru couldn't be sure if it was a side effect for just the Maru family of Armor Spirits or Armor Spirits in general, Shinku was stuck in this weird battle form for twenty four hours after bonding. Thankfully, it didn't add anything more, Shinku personally checked in the mirror when he was making sure the tail and ears really were attached, but the ears and tail still stuck out. He would have to hide them to not stand out in public. So far, wearing a hat snug on his head kept the ears folded down and out of side, and the tail he had stuffed behind his shirt and pants.

And so, after getting some shoes and socks on, he was able to get out of the house and into the world. Of course, he had to worry about that serial killer eventually learning he didn't die and coming after him, but Shinku liked to think positively.

Besides, he had promised his mother before she died that he would live happily.

And so he set off. Normally, he would help out Mrs. Robinson, an old lady who lived nearby and ran the local grocery store, and then buy some stuff there in addition to the free stuff she would give him as thanks, but it looked like she was out today and the store was closed, so Shinku decided to head towards Neogate Shopping Center, a new mall and recreational area that opened up. it was further into the city area, but still decently close.

Neogate Shopping Center:

A smaller ten year old boy, wearing glasses, gasped for air as he stopped running by a smaller alley. He was running right now, running from a group of bullies who had started to pick on him. They werent even in the same grade, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

However, instead of continuing to run, he noticed the hallway seemed awefully...dark...and he felt his eyes get heavier as well.

"Hello boy...do you want to play a game?"

(So...ima actually get to work on another post as well later probably, I just also have some other stuff I gotta catch up on, so I posted this so people can get started. Enjoy, and lets get this started!)

Meanwhile, back at Sanctuary:

Nazku felt something. It was subtle, so subtle that it was likely most would miss it unless close to its origin point. Nazku could only sense it really because of his connection to the Sanctuary, and this land. Only he noticed the oddity that occured just now, coming from the direction of the city.

"Something is happening...normally, I wouldn't sense something this small so clearly, but...its as if its a bad omen...like, its the start of something dangerous..."

He then turned to a girl that was behind him. She didn't appear too old, maybe around fifteen or sixteen, and she wore the attire one might expect of a servant or maid.

"Midorimaru, if you could go and investigate for me..."

Normally, an Armor Spirit cannot stray too far from their bonded human. However, there were occasional exceptions such as Midorimaru. So long as it was on this land, she could go quite far, and she was very reliable. And should something happen, Nazku could easily call her back to his side in an instant due to the bond they had.

"Of course. What of Jaune though? Knowing him, he will likely get himself involved".

"Indeed. He did head off that way, which is why I am concerned. Someone might be targeting him, like his father was targeted".

"I see. In that case, my lord, I shall head out immediately".

Nazku mused a bit that she did not need to call him that, but whenever he said that in the past she still insisted.

"Still, there seems to be powerful forces moving around now...I may need to handle things personally..."

"Is there something wrong, Master Nazku?"

Nazku turned around, and saw a young boy who had apparently overheard his muttering. He was dressed in a bit of an old fashioned way, like many who stayed in the Sanctuary, wearing a simple piece of clothing called a Boro. It was a tradition still enforced for those who lived in the Sanctuary, of which there were quite a few. Nazku wore something different though, clothes made to be worn by the Sentinel, the protector of the Sanctuary.

Children who found Armor Spirits by chance but had nowhere to live, or those who were persecuted by their families, or people who simply needed a place to stay, this was a haven for the pure and innocent in the supernatural community, as well as just those who needed help.

(Had to do some research, image for those who were curious what it looked like)

Image

On the shoulder of the boy was a small purple squirrel, his Armor Spirit. Nazku realized he probably overheard him.

"Like I keep saying, no need to call me master or sensei. Anyways, just some irregularities. For the time being, I think its too dangerous for anyone to leave the Sanctuary right now, but I dont think its a threat to us".

"Oh, I see...what about Jaune though? Didn't he already leave?"

"Right...well about that...he should be fine. After all, he is one of our strongest".

Near Neogate Complex:

The pieces of metal collapsed onto the ground as Jaune's weapon turned back into yellow energy, which took the form of Kimaru once more. He continued walking forward, unphased by what just happened.

The pieces of metal then began to dissolve back into Spirit Energy and disappear, leaving nothing behind of the Goblis Jaune had just fought. Goblis were a rather strange case of Armor Spirit, they were basically creatures created from Spirits that could not manifest fully, and therefore lacked the ability to form a bond. They were usually weak, but could still be dangerous. However, since they cant fully form on their own, they would never manifest or cause trouble unless an Armor Spirit user comes nearby.

Thankfully, when two people of supernatural natures that are hostile to each other get close to each other, the colliding force of their conflicting supernatural energies creates a sort of force that tends to subconsciously repel people, keeping them away from the area without realizing they are kept away. It was sort of nicknamed as a barrier, even though it was not really a barrier at all.

Of course, obviously it would not make everyone vacate a crowded street immediately, but one usually had enough time to get somewhere isolated before they formed. If they didn't though, there were always alternatives, like the semi-expensive Time Stopper marbles that stopped time for everyone except those with supernatural auras within the area around it, for a limited time.

However, something suddenly made Jaune stop walking for a moment as he sensed something inside Neogate.

"Looks like playtime is not over just yet, Kimaru".

"Yes...this is something far more powerful then Goblis though...this could be serious..."

"Alright then" Jaune replied, with a playful smile on his face. "Then lets go have some fun then".

Last night...

Upon a moonlit field a lone man frantically runs across it, holding in his arms some kind of iron box, spotlights beam into the skies, and dogs bark in the distance. The man was dressed in what was once a fine dark blue suit and tie, now tattered and dirt, the tie ripped, his pants were little better, speckled in mud.

This man was Frank D. Crane, a n operator of many fraudulent companies that sold promises only to leave broken dreams. Frank was a wolf, who fed on the needy, and his reputation caught up with him when some of his clients ended up more than crestfallen, but dead. He was a desperate man, looking for any way out... and here it was, in his arms.

"The time nears, my prison chains wane," a growling voice cried out from inside the box, the runes in it lighting up with a ghostly blue flame. Frank fumbled, falling into the grass, the box rolling out of his arms before him. In the grass, the moonlight illuminates the box as it began to steam. "Ugh, watch it you fool!"

"A-and you will fulfill your promise, right?" Frank asks, dusting off the grass from his pants as he gets back up. "Power profound, fame, fortune, and all that stuff, ya? Eyyyy... not that I dun trust ya or nuthin' but lotsa risk for a voice in a b-"

"Enough! The time is now, press your hand against the vessel!" the voice yelled.

"Eyyyyy... yeah, yeah, sure, but ya didn't answer my," the crook responds fidgeting with his hands as he looks back to see the lights getting closer.

"Yes... but I can't as long as I'm stuck in here!"

"So, like a genie, right? Ya come out and grant my wishes?"

"Sure, whatever, just do it!"

Frank shrugs and reaches over to the box, as he does so, energy tethers leap out from the box and snatch him. In reaction, he tried to pull away but the bond was too strong and his hand was pulled against the box. He tries to scream but no sound escapes his throat, he only watches as the box cracks and and a blue light envelops the area as the box bursts open, and his eyes closed to shield against the brightness of it. As he slowly opened his eyes, he found time had... stopped, the shards of the box floated around him, and all the grass was push outwards in a circular pattern. Energy zipped around him, ghostly blue. His breathing was shallow, up until he heard the sound of... a slow clap. He falls back, and looks up above him, as a massive form with two red eyes stared down at him.

"Well done, Frankie-boy... not exactly a star performance, but well done all the same," the creature said, voice more booming now that it was no longer muffled inside the box. Thunder could be heard as the sky above them swirled, and soon enough, it began to rain. "So, now I suppose there is the matter of my promise to you, right?"

Nervously Frank grinned. "Yeah... yeah! Give it to me! The power! Eh, Eddy was it?"

"Editus Rayn!"

"Whateva! I did my part, now yas obligated to gimme!" Frank says, getting bolder as he stands before the beast.

"Your wish is my command!" Suddenly, Rayn stretched out two massive feathery wings and spread them over Frank, enveloping him into darkness. He had no time to struggle, as the being overcame him almost immediately.

"What are you doing?! No, no! Lemme go! This weren't part of the deal! Ya promised! Ya said you don't lie!"

"Familiar, isn't it, Frankie-boy? That feeling of betrayal, that despair! This is how they felt, betrayed by you! You've been quite the contemptible little monster, Frankie-boy, and because of that, no one will miss you," As the figure said this, it shrunk around Frank, squeezing down and reforming, twisting into a more human shape where Frank once was.

The new figure was suspended in the air, afloat only a few centimeters off the ground. Wavy black hair flowing in the wind. He wore a blackened form of Frank's suit and pants, turned into a fancier coat. Feathers adorned his shoulder forming what looked like a coat collar, large black wings spread out. The figure opened his eyes, red like the beast, the sirens getting closer. Withdrawing his wings into his form, he hid them away, and he descended to the ground. He straightened up his clothes and stuck his hands in his pockets, walking the other way, back towards the city.

Police soon surrounded him, lights blaring in his face, both flashlights and the blue-and-red lights of the cars surrounding him, causing him to squint. Dogs barked loudly as they surrounded him. He could hear the click of handcuffs as a man grabbed his arm. He gripped his hand into a fist, mumbling something under his breath. Then a voice yelled out, causing the dogs to go silent.

"Hold on there, this guy doesn't look right," an older officer yells out, likely the sheriff from what little could be seen of his badge and car as he stepped out, approaching the figure. "Yeah, this ain't Frank. Say, did you see a man run by here?"

Rayn lowered his fist, and became more relaxed, smiling slightly. "Admittedly... it's a bit dark out with the storm rolling in and all, but I think I heard a man running the other way..." The sheriff signaled the officers, and they continued their pursuit, passing by the two.

"Yeah, funny, they didn't call for rain today," he looked over at the dogs as they twitched about nervously, whimpering. He then looked back at Rayn. "That accent you have, you're not from around here, are you?"

"Yeah, getting out to stretch my legs a bit, see new places. Was just out for a brisk night walk, was a good night for it, don't you think... a real, hm, bummer," Rayn says, faking a friendly smile. He then reached out his hand. "I hate to cut pleasantries short, but I really must be off, forgot I had other matters in the morning... um, fine meeting you, officer, I hope you catch your man."

The sheriff raises a brow, but shakes Rayn's hand, something surging through him for a moment, a surge of images and sounds, causing him to nearly jump back. He looks down at his hand, eyes wide. Ran simply walked past him, putting his hands in his pockets. "Hey, wait a..." the sheriff began, but when he looked back, Rayn was already gone. He simply pushed back his hat and scratched his head.

Current time, Neogate complex

Head hung down, Rayn stood there leaning up against a wall, arms crossed, tapping his arm. This new world he had come into has so far proven more disappointing than the one he was sealed in. The closest thing to glory came from lit screens, as works of fantasy. Bits of blue ghostly energy, shaped like small winged creatures, visible to only a select few sensitive enough to sense it, danced and chirped in the air around him.

The world has... decayed... how unfortunate... perhaps it is time to rekindle that flame, remind these fools what true horror... eh?

He raised his head slowly, sensing something gathering around him. He cracked a grin tilting his head to the side.

"Oh? Perhaps this will be interesting after all."

(Crraaaaaaappp....I got on a roll and it ended up being longer then I thought or planned. Well, I was able to show off some combat and explain some things with this, so its all good right? Anyways, my normal posts will be smaller, but now this should help people with posts and ideas all the same)

(Also, in terms of posting, every time I post will be the start of a new posting round. That said, I, and hopefully everyone else, will leave time for others to get their posts in, because we dont want to go too fast and leave them behind. However, I also dont want to go too slow and make absolutely no progress or take like, a month to get through half a scene or even one scene. I will leave some time for everyone, but as the GM I also have to keep the story moving)

Sanctuary:

Nazku waited there, anticipating Midorimaru to quickly communicate with him through their telepathic link about the status and condition of what was going on, when he felt it...a pulse of ominous feeling and energy. As Spirits, emotion and...well, spirit, did play a great importance to them, and so when something extremely dangerous, malicious, or even miraculous happened nearby, they could sense it to a degree. Some were easier then others though, and some like Nazku were able to sense it better, especially for the region around Sanctuary.

He immediately took out a phone, and decided to call someone.

"Hey, we need you to return as soon as you can. Whatever is happening here, its gotten bigger".

Neogate Complex:

"Well, that cut into the funds a bit, but there" Shinku said as he sighed with relief. Inside the bags, there was a good amount of clothing, but none of it was Shinku's size. No, it was clothing for Akamaru.

"Cooommmeee onnnn. I don't really have to wear that stuff right? I am a spirit! And a fox! We don't wear clothing!"

Listen, I don't know how it was 300 or 400 years ago, but its different now! You absolutely have to!

"People got so picky and silly since I was last awake. Its so pointless, especially on a hot day".

We are inside right now though, and the Neogate Shopping Complex is air conditioned. Anyways, now we can get some groceries.

Thinking that, Shinku decided to walk forward towards the grocery store in this place...but that was when he felt a chill go down his back.

Suddenly, Akamaru appeared in human form right behind him. Thankfully, no one seemed to notice...in fact, it almost looked like they were moving away from this area, so Shinku quickly grabbed one of the shirts and pulled it on to Akamaru's body.

"H..hey! This is no time for this! Something is coming!"

At those words, Shinku threw some shorts in his face as well as some sneakers.

"Put these on first".

"...to delay a battle for this is kinda stupid, but fine".

Akamaru listened to what Shinku said this time, due to the seriousness of the situation, and...

"Hm? Hold on...these are actually...really comfy? Really comfy...so they even improved how clothes are made? Alright, I wont wear them all the time still, but they are not terrible...anyways, focus! There is something evil nearby! You know, one of those famous Armor Spirits maybe!"

"Famous? Hold on, should we get ready for battle now?"

"Yeah..." Akamaru said, as his entire body glowed and then turned into a red fox. His human form was more for utility, the fox form was his main form and combat form. That said, this time he seemed to properly store the clothing.

As for Shinku, he was still trapped in his battle form anyways. The two looked around...and then noticed a boy that seemed to get pulled down an unusually pitch dark hallway.

"Down there! It just abducted that boy!"

Hearing that, Shinku and Akamaru chased and followed the boy into that dark hallway....and suddenly, entered a very strange place. It looked like one of the main areas of the mall they were just in, with escalators, tables, cafes, and all that, but...it was all strange. Trees and forests had overtaken everything, and while it looked like everything could work, it also looked like it was in need of maintence and cleaning.

"What the..."

"This is...its a Spirit Zone. Sometimes, in these incidents to hide and operate in secret, a rogue or evil Armor Spirit that is attached to a location will create a Spirit Zone. Its like a Spirit World, only smaller and localized. That said, that means whatever this is has to be much stronger then a Gobli".

A Gobli was a sort of generic Armor Spirit like monster. It was created from malice and greed and desire, but failed to have the ability to fully form into an Armor Spirit. It then became this hulking creature of malice and metal, in the form of what people tend to describe as Goblin. However, they cant show the power that a normal Armor Spirit potentially could, and they cant even materialize unless in the pressence of an Armor Spirit. However, that means they can move around without being noticed until they find an Armor Spirit user or Armor Spirit. Because of what they are made from, they will attack Armor Spirit users and those with high supernatural energy on sight, and it is known that if they kill one and absorb that energy, they will evolve into something far more dangerous called a Hobgobli.

Goblis of course are probably the weakest things out there, but that does not mean they are not dangerous and capable of killing.

Shinku looked around, just a bit nervous as he realized this was his first combat situation. That said, he was physically stronger and had supernatural powers now, so he hoped he would do better...and as he looked around, he saw the boy that was absorbed earlier...and a yellow fox?

"Kimaru?"

"Huh? Oh, its Akamaru! We found Akamaru and it's human!"

And then, Jaune turned around to look at the two of them...when a massive four armed cyclops covered in armor dropped down from behind, a different weapon in each hand as he swung at Jaune and Kimaru.

"Look ou...ou?!"

Shinku shouted that, but he fumbled a bit halfway through. Not at the image of the first impacting Jaune's location, but from an increase of weight on his head as a pair of legs with sneakers on them dangled in front of his face.

"Its all good! Anyways, my name is Jaune! Jaune Al'asfar! What is your name?"

"Ummm....Shinku. Shinku Rogue".

"I see, nice to meet you Shin-kun....thats how you say it, right?"

"...yeah, but can you please stop sitting on my head? We can deal with formalities later, cant we?"

At those words, Jaune jumped off of Shinku and looked at the creature.

"Akamaru, AKamaru, after this, lets play!"

"Sounds like fun, Kimaru!"

Jaune then looked back at Shinku as he calmy walked towards the giant monster, who had his weapons ready again and was about to charge.

"Shinku, since you seem to be new at this, just watch and pay attention for now! I will show you the peak of an Armor Spirit's power right now!"

"Yeah! Watch this!"

"Alright!" Jaune said, as he searched for the phrase that would rally his soul and spirit inside his heart. "Playtime, Kimaru!"

"Woo hoo!"

Suddenly, yellow light seemed to radiate as the clothes disappeared from his body and new clothes seemed to generate, the clothes he wears in his Level 3 form. Actually, Jaune had added some unnecessary body movement in there at key times to make it seem like it was from an anime. He seemed to jump up as his normal clothes disappeared, and did a mid air spin as the new ones started to form. He flicked his wrists at the completion of the hoodie, and when the shorts and shoes finished as he landed, he pivoted at just the right way for a dramatic flare. It was more efficient energy wise if one went through Level 3 to activate Level 4...that said...

"Oh...how did! That energy flow...I see, so thats how...but still, this is incredible!"

Akamaru seemed to react in a rather energetic fashion.

"What is it Akamaru?"

"Well, that transformation sequence...that was really quick! Before I got sealed away, it took like ten seconds for us to complete our transformations, even using time dialation!"

"Huh?"

"Well you see, due to the torrent of supernatural energies that occur during transformations, time tends to slow down a bit but not the perception of those in the battle. Because of that, people could go through the whole transformtion with people watching, and provided they did it at the right time, not be attacked. But it was still pretty risky because it took like ten seconds before! But that one, factoring in the time dialation, took two seconds! And based on what I sensed...I think I understand how!"

Shinku was a bit surprised at Akamaru suddenly not acting like an idiot, but I guess it was more he had lot of experience in this specific area. He was also glad actually that Akamaru learned the faster transformation from that, because although the bright light blocked it, he would rahter not be exposed in either sense in that situation.

"But, was that battlecry actually necessary Akamaru? That seemed...well, really embarrassing to watch".

"Of course it is necessary! No joke! Even if we are special combat based Armor Spirits, we are still Spirits! We strongly resonate and connect with spirit and emotions! So when a human we are connected to searches their heart and announces a phrase that both the human and Armor Spirit resonate strongly with, it supercharges our energy and revs us up!"

Akamaru explained a lot to him, although Shinku felt it was silly it was so anime like. However, Jaune did not stop there.

"Kimaru, full power!"

"On it!"

And then, it happened...a large yellow vortex appeared behind Jaune and sucked him in, along with Kimaru that became his armor, and then suddenly...a large mecha seemed to come out! In a very anime like style too, for that matter, with extra details that one might think could just be special effects for theatric flare.

Of course, because Jaune wouldn't be able to control this thing as well as his own body, his soul was in something called the Soul Chamber. His soul looked exactly like he would without clothes, since souls are a representation of the spirit and not what they wore, but between the light that radiated from him being a soul, and the fact that no one could look inside the Soul Chamber, it was a frivolous detail. One might think it was anime inspired from other things that did the same, but if one considered possibilities, it was all hte more likely this was what inspired those various things in animes and mangas.

(The mecha looks something like this, but more fox like then cat like. Also, it has Jaune's color scheme of course)
Image

Actually, all of those fancy details were just side effects of using supernatural energy in this way, and were totally unavoidable...unlike the movements Jaune did earlier.

"Woah...is that...a mecha?"

Those were Shinku's words as he saw what emerged.

"Wait, didn't you know already? I mean, I thought the world kind of knew by now because of that pile of manga I found in your closet that all had Armor Spirits in them".

"Wait, waht?! No, the world still doesn't know! Why do you think I am trying to keep you a secret, so I dont draw the attention of weird people and reporters and such! And...you went through my collection of mecha manga?!"

As this conversation was going on, Jaune had a large amount of wind gust around his arm as he delivered an attack and knocked the creature back. However, it seemed to land two blows with the four attacks it made using its arms, and then forced Jaune to dodge as it fired a laser from its eye.

"Oh...mecha is it? Its just, a lot of those images looked like Armor Spirits I knew".

While Akamaru told him this, Jaune and Kimaru did a backflip before kicking a condensed sphere of wind and lightning at the creature from afar. It deflected it with one of it's clubs, but failed to block the four lightning bolts that had been hidden behind it that struck directly.

"Wait, what?"

Shinku had that reply full of shock, as Akamaru sensed a weird spike of energy start to build. Meanwhile, the ogre shot several more laser blasts from its eye at the Level 4 version of Jaune and Kimaru, before charging right at the spot he would dodge to and attack with all the weapons he had.

"Yeah. I think all of these 'mechas' in those stories you had in there were probably inspired by Level 4, and maybe even a few Level 3, forms of Armor Spirits....Shinku?"

Jaune anticipated this and dodged though, but both he and the Ogre seemed shocked and distracted as they felt a surge of superntural energy surge from Shinku and Akamaru.

"So...in other words...all these animes and mangas, all those details and epic stuff...a lot of inspiration came from Armor Spirits and real supernatural phenomennon?"

There was something one had to remember. Shinku was a highly responsible, highly intelligent boy who worked part time jobs at a young age and was self reliant and self managing. However, he was still a boy, with dreams, hobbies, and passions, along with an adventurerous spirit. And it just so happened, one of his favorite genres was mechas. He could never really afford to go into collecting though, so to now have the ability to use a real one...

His emotions and fighting spirit flared up unexpectedly. Although, he did have another reason.

"Alright then! I promised my mother I would live happily, and to myself I would be self reliant, so there is no way I can just stand here like this!"

"You mean...wait, we should start lower for our first..."

Akamaru started to speak, but he could feel the desire and wishes of Shinku's heart.

"Alright then!"

And so, in his very first battle, and using Jaune who was outside the norm as his example, Shinku went full force in his first battle. And searching his heart for the phrase that would resonate, it did not take long to find it.

"Let's go, Akamaru!"

Unfortunately for Shinku, he had no form in mind to set his Level 3 version to yet. Normally, this would cause a very embarrassing situation to occur where he appeared naked. However, to counter that misfortune that Akamaru failed to explain, he had seen Jaune's Level 3 transformation....and ended up copying it instead of such an embarrassing thing happening. That said, instead of being Yellow and white like Jaune's, it was red and black as it was Akamaru and not Kimaru.

Also, no one had corrected him on Jaune's movements being entirely unneccessary, so he also copied those as well.

Jaune and Kimaru were a bit shocked though, because based on the building energy it would not end there.

"Is he...planning to go to Level 4 for his first time! Thats...thats insane!" Jaune shouted, but not with concern but excitement. He was enjoying this, as if he found a great friend. "Normally people, especially people who were not a part of families that passed Armor Spirits down but instead were completely new to supernatural occurances, couldn't do that...but..."

"Akamaru! He can be so impatient! Dont tell me he found someone equally impatient!"

Incidentally, Shinku did get involved in all this in the first place because he was taking a short cut so he had more time.

Surely enough, Shinku didn't stop there. Akamaru, who had become his armor, resonated with his will.

"Akamaru, Full Power!"

And thus, just the same as Jaune, he also had a huge red vortex open up behind him and was sucked into it, his physical body being stored in a safe place while his soul was put into the Soul Chamber, which was the same as Jaune's inside Kimaru. In front of him, there were various projected screens like holograms, as well as controls that seemed extremely easy to use and understand.

That said...

"Ahhh....Akamaru!"

"Its not me! This is your soul form! Listen, are humans born with clothing on?"

"...I see. But no one can see me right?"

Suddenly, a video screen appeared on the side with Jaune on it. Shinku was startled at first, till he realized the lowest thing that appeared was the belly button, and even then, their bodies shined so much like, especially from the heart, that it was fine.

"Wow Shinku! You managed to pull out a level 4 on your first fight! Your first day, even!"

"Right, thanks...this screen is too big th...oh".

As he thought that, the screen became smaller so he could only see Jaune's head, neck, and shoulders. Meanwhile, he had Kimaru land right next to Akamaru.

"You know I didn't need the help though, right?"

"Yeah...sorry, I just got really excited and I like to be self reliant. Should we finish this quickly then?"

"Sure. By the way, in future fights, you should avoid immediately deploying your Level 4. I was just doing it to show it off to you, since Akamaru and Kimaru are actually of the same family and yours would be similar. Level 4 takes the most energy, and you never know how active a day might be. I once had to fight ten groups of Goblis in a single day".

The Ogre, that seemed to be enraged, charged right at them...but then the two of them combined their elements of fire and wind into their firsts, and delivered a single combined attack on him. From the damage he had taken earlier, the energy used, and the fact it was two opponents that delivered that final attack, that was pretty much it. It seemed to shatter, and dissipate into black gas and miasma.

Jaune and Shinku both deactivated their Heavy Modes, and their physical bodies that were still clad in Level 3 dropped to the ground.

"By the way...how did you learn about this guy? I only just sensed him when I was near, but it looked like you intentionally ran into it?"

"Oh, some children went missing in the area and I felt uneasy. Apparently a few of them were bullies, so I got concerned they found a random old Armor Spirit and got possessed. They all disappeared in the area of that hallway".

The moment Jaune spoke those words, Shinku went on edge again and summoned fire into his hands. Jaune, realizing something was wrong, also went alert.

"What is it Shinku? New kid obersvations can be very helpful to those of us who are so used to things we miss oddities".

"You just said this was a possession...and that multiple kids went missing. But, look around. Not only is there no other kids around, the defeated Ogre dissipated but there was no kid inside".

"In other words..."

Suddenly, a powerful dark miasma formed around them, and from the Goblis began to appear.

"...this isn't over. It just began".

Elsewhere...

"Hmmm....those jerks! They must be friends with those bullies for sure! Well, you guys hear me?! They wont be able to help you! I wont let you escape punishment for everything you did to me, for everything you have done to everyone!"

The boy that had been bullied shouted that at the bullies he had abducted. The three of them were currently behind held by their necks in the air, in what looked like a painful manner, by black tendrils, but without them being suffocated and killed...yet.

Of course, there were others as well. Any child the kid saw from this place, being able to see out of every shadowy corner of this complex, with a bracelet made long ago in England locked around his wrist...the object that an old and forgotten about Armor Spirit was sealed inside and forgotten about named Vengeance Darth.

As England did not have as much Spiritualism, many of the Armor Spirits there tended to be named after historic or mythological Knights, Witches, and other notable folk tale characters. However, Vengeance Darth was one created from the darkness of emotions, during one of their darker and more miserable times, of emotions that desired others to suffer and for people to get their vengeance and justice. However, left idle for so long, it went a bit mad and now had more darkness and the desire to just hurt. It was possessing this boy for sure, but also because this boy had pent up feelings he synergized with.

"Hey, boy...it seems like others might be coming also, people who dont understand and want to stop us from getting what we want...how about we force a few more Spirits through, create even more Goblis to stop them?"

"Do it! They have not suffered enough for what they did to all of us! All the harassment, online and offline, stealing my homework, trashing my bike, locking me outside...they need to suffer!"

Well, Darth was amplifying his desires a bit, but these bullies seemed like absolute scum already on their own.

"Alright then...if they want to come, then lets make some toys for them to play with".

[Darth responses provided by LookingAtPerks]

"I knew I smelled a familiar stench," Editus's voice could be heard echoing, not too far from where they all were. He wasn't in a hurry, but he wasn't one for patience either, having only recently awakened from his prison himself, he had no intent to take anything slow. "I see you've taken to menacing little boys now, tsk, not that you ever had standards to begin with."

"Hmf. It was he who wanted strength, and the desire to get revenge. Is there anything wrong with helping someone deliver justice and vengeance towards those that deserve it? I would...request...you not interfere," Darth responds. Followed by this was the creation of several Goblis, confronting Rayn.

"Huh, you've learned something new, something... annoying," Rayn comments, his voice becoming like a low growl. Drawing back his left arm, feathers flow out from his wings and begin to meld together forming his lance, Spite. As a Gobli lunges at Rayn swinging at him with its club, he sidestepped it and spun around impaling it in the back, it's body dissolving outwards, leaving only bits of metal to clank against the ground before dissolving away into Spirit Energy, before dissipating entirely.

Another one swings at him with a sword from behind him. Without looking he spins around his lance and stabs it into the ground behind him, blocking the attack. He then glared back at the creature, his other hand contorting into a bestial claw before using it to slash through the Gobli's body, leaving blue burning cuts, causing it to fall to its knees. Rayn scoffs and begins to walk past the creature, dragging the lance along, before mercilessly mercilessly swinging the lance around and splattering its head with the lance, immediately dissolving it away. Rayn grunts and nearly stumbles after the swing, but catches his footing with a loud stomp, and places the lance up over his shoulder. He turned around and began to cockily walk towards the kid and Darth, blue sprites forming around him making unnatural sounding hollow chirps.

"Helping, huh... funny, did you ever mention to the boy here about the other ones you, hm, 'helped?' I'm sure it'd make a most enthralling tale," he said, barely covering up the mockery with his tone. He then places his free hand over his chest and took in a sharp breath through his nose. "Personally, I enjoy the part about their fates. Coincidentally, boy... you uh, you like the idea of living, right?"

"Well you see, he cant hear you right now. He is currently having too much fun and reveling in glory over his revenge. Seriously, pitiful humans...these days they seem to teach revenge is wrong? What kind of stupid joke is that? Ah, but maybe if what you utter isn't nonsense, I might pass it along..."

Even more Goblis spawn from the spiritual energy, along with black tendrils that now attack. Rayn stopped and stared on blankly at Darth, his brow furrowed as he grew annoyed.

"I don't think these wretched beings ever truly needed your help in that department, man's idea of... justice is more twisted than yours could ever be, but I suppose you can't hear the little whispers in the wind as I can," Rayn said as the various creatures approached him. "In fact, Darth, I think... you are, how they say these days? Obsolete? But don't worry, I'll make your sendoff from this coil truly... exquisite."

With that, Rayn held out his free hand, palm up, as blue ghostly energy gathered above it, gelatinous-like in its seeming weight, yet glowing and ablaze like fire. He winced briefly as he formed more in the environment. As the Goblis attacked him, he shot out all of them at each, aiming for their throats, as he used Spite to swing at the tendrils to hold them off.

"Perhaps when the others come here, they will witness the effigy to your existence. To the child, hear me or not, I don't care, but turn back, go to your room and play with your toys, forget this world, else you will surely die young."

To all in the area, they might feel a strange pull enacting upon them, a force even, as if an instinct, that would want them to go closer to something...to anything that seemed unusually dark, regardless if it seemed dangerous or suspicious...it might not look like it to normal people, but a spike might shoot out to stab through someone, or it might pull them into one of many Spirit Zones.

"They are all quite foolish, just by thinking that they enter one room of our palace, our base, that they can reach the rest. It will be quite impossible for them to reach this inner sanctum and stop what must be done, so you max relax a bit boy...and leave everything to me..."

"Un...okay. I will just start making these people feel some pain".

At that point, the boy's eyes which appeared unusually blank took out a small pocket knife, and approached one of the boys.

Meanwhile, as Jaune and Shinku fought off some of the creatures, they remained in their Level 3 forms, and had now taken out their weapons too. HOwever, with the overwhelming numbers, they were forced to stand back to back with each other.

"I see you copied my look".

"Wait, it was customizable?"

"Only before you generated it the first time. Guess we are stuck as matching!"

Suddenly, Jaune ran out forward...and as if by magic, multiple Jaunes appeared and all attacked at once.

"Are those...wind clones?"

"...impossible..."

"Eh?"

"This kid...he figured out how to make wind clones?! That was believed to be impossible! You could make Smoke Clones, Shadow Clones, Light Clones, Water Clones, Earth Clones, but from my time, no one had ever successfully created a Wind Clone...this kid...he must be a natural talent, or a genius!"

As Jaune moved through the air with his clones, they cut through several Goblis at once, but more just continued to spawn, and some charged at Shinku. Shinku however blocked, using his Reverse Blade. As Jaune looked at it, he could not help but admire the blade's ability and design.

In a way, the hilt was held in the way you would properly hold a knife or dagger, in the backwards position rather then the forewards position. Forwards was when you wanted to use the knife or dagger to eat dinner or cook, while the backwards position was a sign of combat.

However, Shinku's blade was not some normal dagger. It bent in the reverse way one would expect, and ended up stretching alongside his forearm. Because the blade bent in a way reverse of what a normal blade would, Shinku named it the Reverse Blade. But this weapon he created might just be revolutionary. It allowed for quick and clean stabs, quick slashes, but it also allowed the user to defend itself. Sure, it had a small range, but it was a blade that you could block with one second, attack with another, and quickly move back into a block.

Just like how Shinku, and other people who prided themselves in their cooking, showed how flames could be used to create instead of destroy, this blade proved that a blade could be designed in various unique ways, and still be useful.

So as the two boys ended up going back to back once more, as more spirits began to spawn...

"Ahhh! Look at those two cuties!"

"They look adorable!"

"Matching outfits?! Do you think...BL?!"

"So adorable!"

And then, suddenly they found themselves surrounded by...girls? Furthermore, a huge swarm of girls, saying all sorts of embarrasing, demeaning, and dangerous things about them, had gathered around them and would not let up.

That said, indeed in terms of charisma, they certainly had qualities that made them attractive like that interms of boyish looks, however...

Jaune stomped his foot on the ground, and the illusion was dispelled as flower petals fell around them.

"Honestly, wasn't that overkill?"

"Seriously, did he think flattery would work?"

He made two seriously stupid mistakes. He used illusions against Fox Spirits, and he tried to use flattery on Shinku and Jaune, who were ultimately oblivious to that stuff.

"Now...where the hell is the main boss?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oh dear Rayn, it seems you really do never learn your lessons. But here, have a refresher course...Goblis are not enough, so lets throw in some Ogres for good measure. By the way, by any chance do you mean those boys who have also infiltrated. Well, they are boys, so most likely they will either become indulgent to the flattery of those girls, or maybe embarrassed and such, or..."

At this time, Darth sensed one of his illusions breaking.

"...shut up. I specialize in revenge, not pleasure".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all of the supernatural energy gathered, it was not surprising that the clashing supernatural energies had created a weird sort of quasi barrier on a massive level, and was currently compelling everyone to stay out of the main halls it seems and inside stores, particularly those with thick curtains on their windows. For El Moreau, this would probably be convienent, as it meant there were no witnesses as a Gobli spawned in front of her. Outside of the Spirit Zone, and in a totally public area. Any fight here seemed guaranteed to attract attention.

But, as quickly as it spawned, it then fell with what appeared to be several steak knives coated in intense Spirit Power had been thrown into all of its joints and vital spots. At first, this ability and skill might suggest a decently skilled Armor Spirit user...but the one who came out was a girl. A girl who stared directly at the other Spirit in the room, and had unfurled her fox tail and ears.

"Hello, visitors. My name is Midorimaru, partner and loyal servant of Nazku-sama. Master Nazku has sent me here to ascertain the situation. It appears however, things may get progressively worse without haste, and no one on the inside has yet to notice the trick of this Spirit Zone they are in. The fact that it is not one Spirit Zone, but several folded over each other. To get to the center, you have to get through the layers though, but if you spend too much time fighting the guardians inside, you will run out of energy and probably die".

Midorimaru's voice, unlike Akamaru and Kimaru, was full of experience and wisdom. Although certainly one might think it was strange that these two strangers were who she walked up to...

"If you are wondering why I am asking you, its because it would take too long for Master Nazku to get here on his own, and I am only an Armor Spirit..." Who could kill a Gobli in seconds on her own without a human partner present. "...so it would be best for a pair to go. And you are the only ones in the immediate area I could find. Keep in mind, if we let him grow any more inside his dimension, he may no longer be contained to this complex, so please hurry".

Midorimaru...even though she was being helpful, honest, and kindhearted...she seemed a bit scary in her ability to do all this effectively. And she also seemed pretty persuasive.

"Now if you will excuse me, a Gobli will be spawning down that hall in a few moments, and I need to properly destroy them so no one notices them or gets harmed".

And like that, Midorimaru left to go deal with another Gobli...on her own...

She definently seemed more powerful then other Spirits, that was for sure.

(Okay, I think this gives something good for everyone. Sorry it took awhile, school stuff and all. Anyways, hopefully its all good and not jumbled, for some reason my brain be acting wonky today...)

"Oh no, they get bigger and uglier, whatever shall I do?" he mocked, defending against a swing by one of the ogres, causing him to slide back and hit his back against a wall. Another ogre lunges forward at him, and he slides down between the legs of the giant, causing it to slam a hammer into the wall, where his head would have been. He readied himself to jab the first creature in the back, only for his buddy to slam down a sword against his lance, and taking a club across Rayn's face, sending him hurdling into the other wall. His vision blurred, his brow began to bleed, and he felt his energy slipping from him. Silently he cursed his weakened state, trying to raise his hand against the approaching ogres. "I... don't need anyone..."

What faith is there to be had in others, bonds inevitably fade, either through death or betrayal... besides, my fate was never to be something righteous, never to be a hero, not to be loved... I was born of hate... to be hated... hate...

"Hate!" suddenly the hollow chirps of the sprites became shrill chants. They gathered around Rayn, pulling at him, pushing him back onto his feet. He stumbled back, his right arm hanging, his left arm against the wall, trying to balance himself. He hung his head down, a face expressionless. An ogre stepped up to him raising all its weapons ready to perform the finishing blow, but suddenly a breeze surrounded them, intensifying rapidly. The ogre let out a confused grunt as its lips flapped back in the wind, giving the otherwise terrifying beast a rather awkward expression. Its eyes shifted around, trying to figure out what was going on exactly, and let out a distressed grunt as it started to slide backwards. Trying to fight the breeze, the beast began to walk in place. Rain sways his right arm, and suddenly the Ogre's body is flung back, loudly crashing through a tree and into a wall, leaving an impression of his body into it. The ogre tries to unstick himself, only to find the force holding him intensifies further. Lunging forward, Rayn impales the ogre in its chest, and stands there for a moment as his foe's body dissolves away. He breathes strangely, propped up mostly by his lance, his knees shaking, straining to remain standing.

The other ogres look at each other, before approaching Rayn, figuring it was a last burst of strength from a wounded animal. As they approached, however, and one swung at him, Rayn's body seemed to just... sway like a drunk to the side, his body loosely flailing about dizzily, and with a sudden burst of strength in just his right arm, he spun around, his arm transforming into a more bestial form, and connecting his fist into the cheek of the ogre, with such intensity that the impact ripples through the creature's face causing its cheeks to flabbily flop about, before its body was sent hurdling.

The arm he used falls limp again, black feathers molting off from it and dissolving away into blue spirit energy, the arm turning back into that of a human, but it was red, busted up. His body slumps back for a moment, before he twisted around, looking at the other ogre who stepped back, grumbling, actually feeling a tinge of fear for once. Shaking from this, feeling Rayn's dwingling strength, it swung at him with an enraged roar. Rayn sways a bit, dodging it, only getting nicked across his cheek by its sword. The ogre growls, swinging back around, horizontally swinging with its axe, but Rayn leans back, barely being missed. As the ogre stood over him, Rayn tensed his left arm, and impaled the ogre with his lance through its stomach. The lance, no longer able to maintain cohesiveness, dissolves away in black feathers along with the ogre as it falls to its knees.

He didn't know how much he had left, probably not much at all by the feeling of it. He looked at his left hand briefly, shaking. He gripped his fist and turned back to the boy, the bullies, and Darth, and began to slowly approach them, looking almost like a zombie in his swaying gait.

"Boy, is... this what you want, told how to feel about your own pain? How to express your suffering? Someone else to assert control over you?" he said, his voice strained, weak. "He says you don't hear me, but I think you do, you just... don't want to hear. You are angry, very angry, I can feel it, understand it, these others have wronged you in ways that wasn't their right to do so. It is your right to be angry at them, to hate them. But let me tell you this: don't let anyone else pull your strings and tell you how to express that anger, that hatred, and damn well don't let them drag you down and make you worse than they are. They are just fools, fools who do foolish things... and they need to be punished... but... not like this... not by somebody else's terms than your own. Do you understand me, boy..? Darth is... is... just another bully, preying on you... and them... for fun."

  1. PS: For those who think Darth isnt being affected by anything....lol no, he is just acting tough. And being an asshole. Just to clarify.

In terms of progress, Darth was rather surprised to see them all doing...rather well. The conflict on the outside was being managed, as well as that on the inside. Someone troublesome seemed to be around as well, but she was surprisingly well hidden...perhaps, was this land designated as her domain? So there was a Sentinel in this area? That meant there had to be a sanctuary...

No matter, it was not like they could bother him either. In the first place, this was his own realm, and it was under his control, in his domain. There was no way he would allow himself to be defeated, let alone severed from his bonded partner. However, as Rayn began to say some things, Darth decided to reveal the truth he had kept hidden...not knowing Midorimaru had already figured it out actually.

Suddenly, the setting around Rayn seemed to dissipate, and illusions of Darth, the boy, and the others appeared and disappeared in front of his eyes.

"Please. You have not even gotten close to reaching me yet. Do you think your words can reach one who is not even present? Do you think I would make it so easy for one to enter and reach me?"

As Midorimaru had figured out previously, and told El, Darth had created a Spirit Zone with multiple layers. The first layer was the one people entered first, while the center layer was where he existed. That said, he had only recently been released, so it was not like he had made it complex...other Armor Spirits could create something far more complicated, but this suited him well enough.

He could just keep massing opponents in the first layer, the shell, while he stays safe in the core. Of course, to keep his energy up, he was sucking up the Spirit Energy of the bullies, as well as a few other bully like people they had captured.

"He cannot hear you, he cannot even recognize you as anyone other then one who stands up to bullies. Besides, what are you doing right now? Your power is so low...you have chosen to possess a human then have a harmonious bond? At least I have not truly suppressed his free will, unlike yourself. What happened to your ideals? Were you always such a hypocrite?"

Provoking him would also suit Darth. After all, if this kept as a test of endurance, he would win. Yes, and so he looked at the others...

"What...the hell?"

It appeared that two more people had appeared in his dimension at some point, during his chat with Rayn, destroying the creatures he spawned. That was bothersome, but he would handle it soon enough.

The issue was...the insolence of the other two. While still in their level 3s, they had their shoes off and were sitting on a blanket with their spirits, eating lunch...they were having a picnic.

"So wait, you made your magic to cook these?"

"Yeah...what do you think?"

"I am amazed you didn't destroy your kitchen, to be honest".

"Hey, flames can do more then just destroy. Fire can also create. Ah, you got some crumbs on your mouth".

Shinku helped at Jaune by wiping them off while they continued to eat, and this sort of carefree attitude was really ticking him off. Also, he was getting a tad bit jealous at their good looks for some reason...that being that he, who never had a human form, would get jealous of anyone who looked amazing.

Incidentally, part of that was just a side effect of being Bonded to an Armor Spirit. It improved various physical qualities.

"...the fuck are they doing...eating? Acting carefree and friendly? Seriously?!"

Practically erupting with rage and annoyance, he decided to attack them directly. Countless tentacles erupted right from under the blanket to destroy it...when it all disappeared, as if it was an illusion.

No, it was an illusion. In the first place, neither of them brought a picnic blanket with them.

And then, a large piece of metal was slammed into one of his tentacles and pinned it down, which was followed by the feeling of two people running on the tentacles. Not only that, but the two attacked the actual Spirit Zone boundary itself in the process, making the inner layer where he had been sitting accessible to all of the others as well.

In retrospect, Darth was having quite a few fumbles right now...but, he decided to let it go for now. After all, he was still confident in his victory...

He would just have to create something massive, something that even if they all joined forces, they could not defeat...

(Sorry if the end seems a bit...not as great as the start, wanted to get this done before I did some RL stuff I have to deal with)

[Another collab post, all Darth parts by LookingAtPerks.]

Rayn's expression blanked and he tilted his head, before he swung his good arm up and clasped his hand over his face and stood there quietly for a moment. His body began to shake, at first it seemed like he was trembling, but then an audible sound came from him. He had begun to chuckle, and his chuckling became a laugh.

"Wow... haha... you really don't get it, do you?" Rayn said, peeking through his fingers.

"Hmm. Compared to you, who chases shadows and cant accept change?" Darth responded.

"Heh, won't deny the former, but the latter, well, more a you thing, isn't it Darthy-boy? A literal... unchanging relic of a time long gone... obsolete in a world far crueler than anything he could even imagine." Rayn retorted, twirling his fingers. "But no, I digress, I've never claimed to be a hero, or saint, or anything of that matter... and this whole thing between us? Not about justice. I simply just... don't like you... you are a parasite, a worm, a bug, something to be stomped underfoot and forgotten. Every era requires a monster to defeat, and remind people of their virtues... but you, you are not even that, you are just... nothing but a shadow of a long outdated sentiment."

"You seem to forget, about the fact that unlike you, there are people greateful for my existence! All you do is cause trouble, fight people, punch them in the face, and occasionally just blow up entire cities! I have provided far more to this world than you, I let people settle their grudges and give what is coming!" And then, he would attempt a direct attack using a tentacle against Rayn out of annoyance while safely in the inner layer.

Rayn in turn just stood there, glaring at it coming between his fingers. He then sighed, lowering his head, closing his eyes, and let his arm down like he was reaching for his pocket. The blue fire sprites gathered around his arm as the tentacle got close, and he swung at it, splitting it open. It wasn't just that, however, a portion of the air itself seemed to... catch ablaze with ghostly blue flame, as a seemingly invisible barrier begins to burn open.

"Oops," Rayn uttered sarcastically.

Darth seemed to panic a little at this sudden event. It seemed that Darth did not expect Rayn to actually start tearing though the barrier to his real location. As expected, he was more of a manipulation type of person then one with pure power. Otherwise, the need to use so many pawns wouldn't quite make sense.

"You think you can beat me, in your weakened, shriveled state?! YOu can try and reach me, but all you will do is make your own tomb...ahk?!"

From that sound, it seemed as if someone had done something rather painful to it...no, wasn't he already in pain?

The truth was, Darth did not have a high pain tolerance.

"You do realize that once they realize what you are, they will kill you next right?"

"And?" Rayn uttered, stepping through the hole as blue embers float around him. "Unlike you, I've fully come to terms with this... in fact, I look forward to the day a righteous soul emerges from the ash to strike me down. It is what I deserve."

"Then why dont you go die in a hole somewhere instead of bothering me? I only grant the desires of those I bond with. I simply give the power to act on their desires," Darth responded.

"Spare me the shit," Rayn responded, smirking. "You don't care about the kid or his suffering, you just feed off the kid and his victims. Hell, you say bond, but what is it really? Something forged on half-truths and outright lies. This isn't even a complete bond, the only point you link on is the desire to lash out. For the rest? You're just a puppeteer. Why else would you have to use all the smoke and mirrors, you... can barely even reach level 1 on this."

"You think that this is only Level 1, do you?" Darth said with a smirk, as countless spears appeared out of the tendrils and immediately charged at Rayn. "I wont claim to have as much raw power, but my ability to manipulate is top notch. And dont you dare ever trample on my beliefs, you muscle brained moron! Perhaps, do you want to hear the truth of his heart?"

And then, the voice of a child could be heard all over, reverberating across the dimensions.

"I am so tired of this! I dont want to be picked on anymore! I want strength! I want vengeance! I want them to suffer and wither like they made me suffer! I want them to leave me alone, to see me as better, not worse!"

Darth just smiled at Rayn.

"This is what the boy wants. Did you know? These people have been terrible to him. I admit, this far surpasses normal bullying...even if they only made him think he was burried alive, it was still terrible for him...he deserves vengeance!"

Darth seemed unusually passionate about it...it seemed as if those were his true emotions, although it was still clear he was corrupting in some way...he shouldn't be able to summon Goblis or ogres.

Rayn shrugged. "So you help the kid by amplifying his negative emotions and turn him into a murderer, bravo," Rayn said, his words dripping with sarcasm. "Doesn't quite explain the minions, now does it? Tell me, if you are so noble, then how come you have such a corrupting touch? And... why are you so afraid to let the boy hear my words if they don't actually matter..? All you really do is help perpetuate a cycle, to continue to direct humans to lash out at one another, blood for blood. Me? I give people a target, something to hate and fear other than each other, and I do it up front, in person. No cowardly smoke and mirrors, no minions, no hiding... just... me."

Unbeknownst to Rayn, he was being shadowed by somebody veiled from the rest of the world.

"Seriously..? How is that even possible? What, you have like the same spirit mom or something?"

"I... dunno? But I'm totally sure of it!"

"He looks totally beat up. I thought you said he was strong."

"He is! Was... was-is..? Bah, he's just weak right now for some reason... and possessing somebody..? Wait, does that make me the stronger sibling now?"

"Shouldn't we like... stop him?"

"Oof... u-um... well... I suppose? I mean, he's still... like, my brother and all."

Rayn looks behind him, thinking he felt something for a moment, only to shrug and move on forward. Odd, it felt almost... familiar.

(Blargl. Ended up getting busy, but I was also trying to let others post. But cant let this inactivity continue!)

At those words Rayn spoke, Darth had an evilish grin and smiled mischeviously.

"Whoever said I was amplifying his emotions? You have possessed someone, so you have forgotten Rayn, but humans are creatures built on emotions. You must be able to feel it right? The emotions of your host, erroding at you? At your control? Maybe you can keep control, but do you really think that you can defeat me as you are now? No Rayn, because while I have accepted humanity, you have rejected it entirely. You simply do not understand...the glory and value of humans, of their emotions and spirits. And the strength that they hold. Meanwhile, I have a healthy respect for it".

At that point, something unexpected happened, even for Darth. A large explosion went off, and suddenly the dimensional walls began to shatter and break. It was as if the entire setting shattered around them all, and in exchange, everyone appeared in one location.

"What the..."

"Where are we?"

This included Jaune and Shinku, who were now in the same space as Rayn and Darth. Now, the three of them could totally ally and...

"Oi, Shinku! This is no good! The amount of enemies increased! Not only is that thing with that boy, but that man is also possessed!"

Darth, who saw this, realized it instantly.

"Of course. Rayn is fully possessing his body, but the boy...this is as much his will as it is mine...because of that..."

"It looks like the thing over there has some power, but his bond doesn't appear to be one of domination. Which means...you must be the final boss!"

Jaune and Shinku turned towards Rayn. Darth was not sure what caused the barriers to shatter, but it had ended up working in his favor. Because of the fact Rayn had not chosen harmony, but domination, the two were mistaking him as the enemy. A rather reasonable decision too, if one thought about it.

"I don't care how strong you think you are Rayn, I wont let you hurt this boy! I will help grant his wish! I wont allow you to kill him!"

Darht threw all of his passion, and technically truth, into his words that he shot at Rayn. He was totally painting Rayn as the bad guy here, to get his enemies to fight each other instead of him...although, that red haired boy...he seemed to have a bit of hesitation, as if he felt like something was wrong. But, it might just be because this was his first fight.

Rayn stopped, glancing around, two other kids had entered the field as the veil broke down. He slouched over, looking at the two, then back at Darth. It was an annoying predicament, while it did look bad for him, did it really look that much better for Darth? This had become... a big joke. Rayn slapped his hand over his face and began to chuckle bitterly... or was it really Rayn..? He was right, it had begun to erode at him.

"What is there to deny? Honestly, you think I'd sweat? Panic? I am a monster, and as one I've known the darkest parts of humanity since I was conceived. Born of hate, born to be hated, thus is my fate. I'll take my judgement when it comes," he says, tiredly slouching over, black feathers dropping off of him. He then looked over at Shinku and Juane, pointing out at Darth. "This armor spirit here? It thrives on the act of revenge, ranging from severe to petty. He revels in pointless feuds, feeds off the victims, and indulges the darkest aspects of his... partner's psyches, all as part of some weird idea of justice. I mean..."

Rayn turned back to Darth, tilting his head to the side.

"Why don't we speak of the children being held by Darthy... since he's so proud of himself right now, tell me, as cruel as they were, how does that justify draining them to husks as you slowly torture them? Children can be cruel, but please, tell me how this fixes anything? Honestly, as much of a bastard as I am, torturing and killing children... and reveling in it..? well, haha... it's... pretty messed up." Rayn chuckled bitterly again, then sighed, going limp again. "This may be what the kid wishes for... now anyways, but he doesn't yet understand the consequences of his actions... I'll take whatever price I am to pay... just..."

Suddenly there was a loud snap sound as a spotlight out of seeming nowhere gleams down upon Rayn, causing him to shield his eyes.

"Golly, you sure got chatty! Both are technically telling the truth, or at least, to an extent of what they believe to be the truth!" a young cheery female voice yelled out, echoing as if through a speaker system. Then the spotlight disappears, and another snap as it now centers in on another figure. This one was strawberry blond haired, pink eyed, pinkish nosed girl with freckles, with a long ponytail. She was only dressed rather casually in a rather oversized, long-sleeved white hoodie, with a large pink bow on the back of her head that somewhat resembled large rabbit-ears. Atop her head was a rather out-of-place black tophat. Cheerfully the grinned and waved at Shinku and Jaune, she radiated some kind of feeling of... positivity. "Hiiiii~! Such a lovely audience out there! Hey, wanna see me pull a rabbit out of my hat!?"

"What... what are you doing?! D-did the sugar go to your brain!?" a voice yells out from a corner of the area. Luci reacts by slouching over and sighing loudly. Over there was a woman dressed in a strange black rabbit-themed jumpsuit and rabbit-skull mask.

"Saaaaaaiiiiiph... I got boooored! Remaining unseen all the time is boooooring!" Luci whined. "And keeping up a veil all the time is exhaustiiiiing! And there's so many people here, its time to make friends!"

"Yeah... uh-huh... sure, Lu, just tell me when we get to the fighting part," the other woman says, now engrossed in playing some kind of handheld game.

"Ugh, seriously?!" Luci yells, raising her arms into the air.

Rayn raises a brow, opens his mouth to speak then just slaps his hand over his face and sighs. "So you... have a bond now."

"I knoooow! Weird, huh?" Luci responds, leaning forward and grinning widely at Rayn. She then leans back, looking a bit concerned as she twists her mouth. She then looked at Shinku and Jaune. " Um... hi? Look, my brother may be a bad guy, but he really was trying to talk the kid out of vengeance, not trying to kill him! I mean, really look at the situation here! Look at my brother! He's been beat up, by the ogres Darth summoned! That shouldn't even be possible... unless..."

El was surprised by the arrival of the other woman, taken completely off guard by both the arrival and her support in the fight. And an Englishwoman to boot? Or at least she thought she caught a familiar accent in there. There was a slight smirk on her face as she caught the other strange voice speaking. "Oh, still very much dead, but that hasn't seemed to stop Mr. Sargon, or myself for that matter."

If Sargon's face were visible, it would be showing a rather neutral, yet pleased smile. Almost somewhat confident, or amused, or maybe just pleased. "They both seem very polite I must say." He whispered in El's mind. A moment later, his voice could be more audibly heard lilting into El's. "I suppose you could say the Akkadian spirit is rather indomitable. Or perhaps indestructible."

El grabbed another Goblis, picking it up and smashing it head first into the ground, watching the skull crack as it began to fade away. "Lots of these nasty pests. I think we need to keep moving, but we might have to fight our way through." She smirked as she brought her sword down into another Goblis's head, turning to the newcomer with a grin on her face. "Name's El by the way. The Akkadian is Sargon. Pay him no mind though, he's terribly paternal."

"Well seeing as my soul is tied to your body, one would hope you'd understand my interest in keeping it mostly in tact." He responded in a slightly teasing way.

"Oh shut it."
