"You can sing?" he asked, leaning his cheek against his knuckles, elbow on the bar counter. "That's really cool, I could never do something like that. I'm way too shy."

Marckus turned back to the man and felt himself blush lightly, barely noticeable. "I-it's really not... I-I mean, anyone can sing, so it's not a very interesting thing..." He brought a hand up to run through his hair. He cursed his sudden nervousness and moved his hand to sheild his cheeks, mouth and jaw partly from view. The bartender chuckled at him before wandering off to tend to other customers.

"B-besides, I'm pretty sure if you had someone to sing with you, you could sing really well... You have a nice speaking voice, after all. A-and it's been said that people with good speakin' voices are also good singers." He murmured, gaining a bit of his confidence back. But he doubted that it would last long. This person had a mysterious effect on his usually boisterous and loud personality. It was like he needed to be quieter, more subdued, as to not harm the other.

"I-it's really not... I-I mean, anyone can sing, so it's not a very interesting thing..." the boy stuttered out. Teller found himself smiling about this other young man's nervousness, watching while he ran a hand through his hair. It was kind of.... well, endearing. He seemed to rake a moment and try to regain a little more composure before speaking again

"B-besides, I'm pretty sure if you had someone to sing with you, you could sing really well... You have a nice speaking voice, after all. A-and it's been said that people with good speakin' voices are also good singers."

Teller practically snorted, before he realized that would probably be one of the most unattractive things he would do all night, and ended up sort of half-choking and kind of coughing. Which wasn't any more appealing than the alternative, but it was too late now. He let out a small breath, almost a laugh at himself, and took a sip from his glass briefly, averting his eyes as if shyly. He placed the glass down and took his sweet little dainty time about the entire chain of actions before making a comment back. The idea of being in front of any sort of crowd and being the center of attention was absolutely terrible. He was a shadow, using the forces of bad luck and terror as a weapon. Sure, he loved to make a big scene, but more of the kind you saved for the end, and certainly not with him right in the middle of it. People focusing directly on him was kind of nerve wracking, actually, but he'd never admit it completely. Perhaps a light little 'no, i'm too shy!' but he'd always be the person to suppress whatever feeling there was that stood in his way. The only feeling he'd found to be too hard to get rid of was fear, of course, but he just focused on keeping a wide berth between him and his two big phobias. If another feeling decided to become a road block as well, he suspected he would do the same, though he wasn't entirely convinced that he wasn't already doing that with a few feelings other than fear, but he was avoiding those a lot better in his opinion.

"I don't know about that," he responded, finally, once again making the small motion of tucking those loose strands of hair behind his ears. "There's still a chance i'll be absolutely terrible! And i just don't know about being up in front of all those people..."

Teller shook his head, hunching his shoulders and acting bashful. "But hey, if they turn the place into a karaoke free-for-all, and i have enough alcohol in my system to cloud my better judgement, maybe I'll take you up on that offer." He flashed the other boy a quick smile, before turning back and sipping his drink again.

He placed his drink back down on the bar, vaguely aware that they hadn't even exchanged names yet. It's a little harder for the other person to say no when it gets slightly more personal, after all. Didn't need to get too personal of course, that made it harder to split afterwards, but names were definitively safe ground. Not that Teller always trusted himself to remember in the morning, but often he was gone before then. It was hard for a guy to be memorable enough to recall his name after the main goal of the evening was achieved. Mainly because that part was probably the most impersonal part of the evening. But now seemed as good a time as any to get the small tidbit of information.

"So," he started, putting his gaze back on the boy, keeping his sweet, slight-smile on his plump lips. "What's your name, anyway? I'm Ares." He was careful not to use Aaron as his name again, after all, he used Ares as his name for everything else, and it was always more difficult to recall that he'd used the name Aaron when it came down to it. At least this way, it was one less name to remember.
