Introduction
Deep in the machinations of the fabled land's under-city, malcontents plot the downfall of the Elders and the rise of those without the elemental abilities so prized. Centuries of living in the shadows of the magically attuned people of Atlantis had caused these rebels to scheme. They had decided the enough would be enough, and that the government needed a change. However, their patience is that of a mountain, and they haven't begun to fully mobilize just yet.
This is where you enter. You, the extras in the story, may not be able to change the will of fate to the exact opposite, but you may be able to escape the wrath of the gods and the war that will ensue and cause the city's destruction. Or you could even find and aid the rebels in bringing down the government. It's all up to you.

A word on the government of Atlantis, as an Atlantean would know it:
The way to climb in the hierarchy of the city is through cunning and devious plots to kill those above you. However, those above are almost always older than you, which means they have more experience in battle, and will guard themselves from attacks from below.
Unless an outsider had stayed in the city for decades, they would not know about this.
The hierarchy is as follows:
Elders
Peluvas(Artists) ------ The "Upper Class" of Atlantis. The Church officials and their apprentices are included in this, as well as the ruling Council members of the city.
Acolytes
Patriachs
Generals ---- The "Middle Class" of Atlantis. This includes the highest military officials, the Male leaders of every family (No matter how small), and those who sell and buy items.
Merchants
Soldiers
Craftsmen -- The "Lower Class" of Atlantis. All low-ranking military officials are included along with those who work with their hands to produce what they need.
Farmers

A note about the ages involved and possible in this roleplay:
Atlanteans, not being human, live for an extraordinarily long time. They mature quickly, assuming the physique of an adult within their first 15 years of life. The average lifespan ranges from 1,000 years old to about 2,500 years old, but there have been a few who had survived for several millennia longer than that. Disease is not an issue in the city because, although the city is clean, Atlanteans have a natural viricide in their blood that kills all forms of outside bacteria, fungus, or viruses that would invade the body. Despite these natural miracles, Atlanteans are not immortal unless they are cursed with it, or it is given as a gift by the gods. They can be killed by blade and arrow, or any other weapon that physically injures the body, as well as by magic.

As you go through the world, you, as a writer, may start to pick up on certain nuances and terms used by the people around you. I will be including, in my posts and perhaps somewhere in the roleplay, a list of various terms/words that I have created for use by the Atlanteans. If you wish, I can also provide a pronunciation guide to go with, though once you get the hang of it, it becomes quite fun to speak.
As I said, enjoy yourselves, and welcome, to the world of Atlantis.
