Introduction

Image

Sins. We've all committed one or two in our life time. It's just a part of life. There are Nine sins in total.

  • Sloth
  • Wrath
  • Pride
  • Deceit
  • Envy
  • Greed
  • Fear
  • Gluttony
  • Lust

Image

We all experience them in varying degrees from person to person but there are nine that embody these sins completely. They don't commit the sin they are the sin. But this is no fantasy tale. They are not gods or royals. They are just what they make of themselves. Like everyone else in this world. The only difference is the powers they hold and the effect they can have on people. When just standing near someone can turn them from calm and normal to filled to the brim with emotions and thoughts relating to what you embody it makes it hard to live a normal life. So these nine used to stick together. Hiding in the dark until they mastered their powers. Their sin.

It's been many years since they finally ventured out into the world. Immortal but looking to make something of themselves in the ever changing world. They know each other exist but have seen very little of each other since that day. But when you don't hide people see you. And the world has grown curious of the nine people that seem to live through history and history in the making. Curious of the nine face that never seem to change or age. So once again they have come together. They must figure if they are to just continue on their life as they have, and risk being discovered for what they truly are. Or to go back into hiding, and throw away everything they have worked for.

Roles:

Sloth - Taken/Reserved By: lord of pandemonium - Nathaniel Morris - Male - Through the years Nathanieal has made a name for themselves in the crime world, having run many successful opium dens and drug rings - Risk of discovery: very low as you will rarely see him even move from a single spot for most of the day - Energy/Power: Purple, glows from wrists and pours down like thick, sticky sap. Puts to sleep anyone it touches and drains all motivation and will from them.

Wrath - Taken/Reserved By: Soul_Alchemist - Valko Armistead - Male - Recently Valko has been living with Aj-sha to make ends meet. You don't bring in as much money as you used to being an assassin for hire now a days. - Rick of discovery: Most of the people who have seen his abilities are dead, so the chances of him being found out are low. But if his temper gets the better of him, he could slip up. - Energy/Power: Green, glows from hands and shoots up like licking flames. Gives him/her more strength and brutality behind their attacks.

Pride - Taken/Reserved By: Fredalice - Estrelle Monette - Female - Throughout history Estrelle has been many figures in high society. Recently they have been setting their sight's on a chair in the white house to claim as their own. - Risk of discovery: High; Pride uses her power on whims and thinks to highly of herself to get caught, or if she does that anybody will actually do anything to stop it; after all they'll be too busy ensuring their own pride to care about anyone else and those who haven't been affected by her, to her, will be too in awe of her to contradict the power that is rightfully hers. - Energy/Power: Pink, glows from shoulders and flows down like a kings cape. When wrapped around someone makes them completely submissive and at the will of Estrelle. Will do and say whatever he/she pleases.

Deceit - Taken/Reserved By: sixlilies - Rente Moreau - Male - Enjoying chaos Rente has been whispering in the ears of world leaders and starting wars. Then putting themselves right in the thick of things by taking the role of commander and chief of any army they so chose. - Risk of discovery: Surprisingly, pretty low. The only giveaway are those cherry-red eyes. The rest of his physical powers are subtle enough for him to get away with them. Good thing everyone thinks he wears fancy contact lenses. - Energy/Power: Black, glows around their whole body and hugs them like a body suit, allows them to move around unnoticed as well as possess any living thing they chose.

Envy - Taken/Reserved By: stealthpanther - Marjeta Branković - Female - Loving to be pampered and having anything they want (or others have) Marjeta has been the trophy wife for many extremely wealthy people. But with their last lover dead they are desperately in search for a new one. - Risk of discovery: She likes to be in the spotlight, and she wants whatever she can get. High risk if she is not careful. - Energy/Power: Orange, glows from eyes and swirls up like smoke. One look and their victim becomes deeply in love and obsessed with them. Becomes more like a loyal dog than the person the used to be.

Greed - Taken/Reserved By: Lolkatlove - Vanessa Valentine - Female - As you would expect, Vanessa is a very wealthy woman. Owning a extensive line of successful banks and businesses. - Risk of discovery: Vanessa is a world renown billionaire. She is in the same league as Bill Gates in terms of how famous her name is. This causes her to have a high risk of discovery. Even more so as she was brought in for questioning. - Energy/Power: Brown, glows from feet and flows across the ground like water, engulfing and destroying anything in its path.

Fear - Taken/Reserved By: cybernekokaito - Bertholdt Müller - Male - Sucked into the life of glitz and glam, Bertholdt is a successful movie director, specializing in horror films. - Risk of discovery: Medium. After all, how else would his movies be so believable...? - Energy/Power: Yellow, glows from head and sparks off like lightning, once hit with it their victim will hallucinate their worst, deepest, darkest fears.

Gluttony - Taken/Reserved By: Soul_Alchemist - Quincy Bordelon - Male - If you have a kitchen it's more than likely you have a dish from Quincy's food line stocked somewhere in your fridge or cupboard. There's nothing he doesn't know how to cook or bake and no one can make it better. - Risk of discovery: Quincy is known across the world. Everyone, just about, knows his face if nothing else, and his frozen meals sell everywhere. The risk is high because if he ever slips up, everyone will know who to look for. - Energy/Power: Red, glows from stomach and jiggles like jelly. can be slipped into food and make the victim addicted and constantly hungry. Causing them to eat and eat till they burst...literally.

Lust - Taken/Reserved By: BlueTeddyBearMelody - Aj-Sha Suko - Female - A proper Madam of a highly successful brothel Aj-sha is loved by many and hated by all their life partners. With guests from all over there is hardly a soul she does not know, nor is there a day her pockets are empty. - Risk of discovery: Working mostly in the underground, Aj-sha is only well known among her clients. Her risk of being discovered is a low medium - Energy/Power: Blue, glows from mouth and drips down like saliva. One kiss and her victims become ravenous of pleasure and sex. Uncontrollable, Their high and arousal will last until she decides to stop it.

Aj-Sha stretched and yawned as she entered her office. It had been another long Saturday night at the brothel and she could could still hear the muffled moans of the last minute customers resonating through the thin walls. When they were done they'd be escorted out and She and her girls could finally rest for the night.

She slipped out of her heels and threw her hat on the bed, which seemed lonely to her. She licked her lips, leaving a thin film of blue energy across them. Aj-Sha may have been tired but there was never a time she wasn't hungry for something...or someone. and a little bit of company would not have been refused.

Moving over to her closest she reached behind her and started untying her dress, letting it fall to the floor around her as she pulled off the black, silk gloves covering her hands. When she was finally completely undressed she relaxed, she shed her human mask for her true form now that she was in the safety of her private quarters. She blinked and adjusted the glasses on her face and looked around her, finally able to see properly. Aj-Sha ran her hands up and over her horns, feeling their smoothness and flicking her bull like tail. She smiled and stretched, she liked her human form but it was like being stuck in a work uniform all day for her. She enjoyed being able to relax in her own skin at the end of the day.

Aj-Sha opened her closest and slipped into a silk nightgown and see-through robe before moving over to her desk. She sat down in the chair and took a deep breath. It had really been a busy day. She was hardly off her feet for one second. Which meant she didn't get to play with any of the costumers. She pouted at the thought. She usually got to bed at least one.

"Maybe I'll just have to play with myself then." She thought to herself, biting her lip and letting blue energy trail down her chin and neck as she ran a hand up her thigh.

BAM!

Aj-Sha jumped and quickly shot her hands up out of reflex as the window leading to her room was abruptly forced open. A raven stood perched in the windowsill with something white clasped in it's beak. She swallowed and took a deep breath, regaining her composure and standing up from the chair she had previous decided to get very comfortable in. She walked over to the bird and gently grabbed the item in it's mouth and removed it. It was a rolled up piece of parchment sealed with a bit of wax.

The raven took off as Aj-Sha turned to walk back to her desk, sitting back down she opened and unrolled the paper:

Dear Ms. Suko,

Due to recent events regarding the daughter of Greed, Vanessa, it has come to my attention that the human race is becoming more and more aware of your less than mortal existence. As you can already gather this is not a very good thing. You and the other sins were sent to earth to taint it and if you're discovered you will be destroyed or worse, put on display like zoo animals. I highly suggest all of you return to where you started and discus this matter further as well as figure out the best coarse action to take in these trying times. A notice as been sent to the others as well.

Do not disappoint me.
Do not become a mistake.

Signed,
Your Father

Aj-Sha furrowed her brow in confusion, "Father? we don't have a father....Unless you include him but...He only cares about torturing the prisoners of hell. Why would he be concerned about us?" She thought to herself. She could have guessed the part of their purpose in the mortal world but none of the sins have parents. Mortal or not.

She shook her head, this wasn't a time for worrying about that. She was more concerned with this new threat. What ever happened to Vanessa was serious enough for a higher being to send warning of it.

Reaching across her desk, she picked up her office phone and placed it to her ear. She dialed the number for the front desk down stairs.

A man with a rough voice answered, "Yes Ma'am?"

"Ross, be a dear and send Valko to my quarters as soon as possible please."

"As you wish Ma'am."

"Thank you." She hung up the phone and ran her hand over the troubling letter, reading it over again.

Valko sighed, and his breath appeared before him like a shadow as the smoke left his lunges. Holding up the cheap cigarette he frowns, wishing he were holding a cigar instead. But Aj-Sha was closing up shop for the night and this was nothing more than a smoke break before he would have to head back into the brothel and ensure that all the Johns made their way out the door without incident. No time for a cigar in the back alley tonight.

"You don't have to go home, but you sure can't stay here." Valko mutters to himself, the phrase being what he always said to the people who visited this house of pleasure when it was time for them to be leaving.

Taking one last drag of his cigarette the sometimes-assassin drops the remains onto the dirty street beneath him and crushes out any remaining embers with the bottom of his boot. He was just about to check his pocketwatch to see if his five minutes were up when he heard something land on a trashcan off to his left. Turning that way Valko finds a bird, a raven, perching on the lid of the can, a little piece of paper in its beak. Grumbling to himself, Valko walks over and takes the paper, knowing this can't be good, whatever it might be. As soon as he had the paper, the raven flew off without a sound.

Dear Mr. Armistead,

"What, is a priest trying to contact us now?" But even as the words left his mouth Valko knew better. The only father he'd ever known was certainly no holy man. Just thinking about him causes green light to glow from the tips of his fingers, but thankfully he notices this before the sparks can flare into a full flame. It wouldn't due for a passerby on the street to see a bright green glow from a back alley, get curious, and go investigating only to find a man in a suit was the source of the light.

"Ah, there you are Val." A rough voice says.

Valko stuffs the letter into his pocket and snuffs out the last ember of his own light before turning to find Ross at the end of the alley, the backdoor to the brothel open behind him.

"Yeah? It that time already?"

"No, not just yet." Ross moves to allow Valko inside, then continues. "Mistress Suko has requested that you visit her in her quarters."

"Great. Is she going to be dressed this time?" Valko asks, smirking a little, as he walks past Ross and makes his way towards the stairs.

Over the long years Valko has been able to get used to a lot of things. People are simple to the point of being stupid, making them easy targets for a sin like himself. What he has never been able to predict is what another sin might be thinking, what they might do next. As a result, he never knows what to expect when Aj-Sha calls him up to her room.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

If a sound could be ovular, the clock striking 12 would be just that; smooth and cold, like ice, ringing through the expensive stone and only being shattered in its purity by the noise of a lock being clicked into place before turned by a key and made safe to enter. Then, human noises. Laughter, voices weaving in and out of conversation, exuberant and barely winded. A couple parchment bags are dropped on the floor outside, and the door is swung open.

Three figures walk into the cold and empty blackness. The middle one spreads out his arms, the two women surrounding him softly hooking their manicured fingers around the crooks of his sharp, well-dressed elbows, giggling and receiving his words as if pieces of candy were falling from his pale lips. He is still wearing his sunglasses as he pauses, whips them off for dramatic effect, and claps. The lights turn on. He strokes the women's faces with his hands and laughs joyfully. Despite his kindness, they are unfit to be in his space. They are Christmas lights strung across a huge, black hound.
"Welcome, welcome! I suppose you've never seen a place like this. I designed it myself--it's all very fine, isn't it? Oh, are you scared? I'll turn on another lamp, dear. Perhaps it is very dark. Nevertheless, make yourselves at home."

His teeth flash as they laugh and thank him with their tinkling voices. Rente's eyes are very, very red.

It's very likely that these two do not assume anything from him, even with his red eyes. Most assume that his other unusual facial features are because of plastic surgery; after all, in their business as evening companions to very rich men, slouching over their bodies over drinks and music, they've seen much more extreme. It's just subtleties...things that make him striking. Things that you wouldn't notice right away on someone's body, like the acute sharpness of a cheekbone, the curve of their cupid's bow, the odd glossy shimmer of their hair. And those eyes...

But he's not creepy, like the other man, a rich politician who they were previously hired to escort who pushed them around and used them as dolls.

"Come, come, come. I insist. Look, I even have tap here. It's good to drink some water after all the wine I saw him buy you. You see, alcohol remains in a person's body for a very long time if it isn't downsized by something else. It isn't poison, of course! But it's enough to make girls like you sick if you don't take care of yourselves!" With a concerned flair of his hand, Rente crosses the room and turns on the lamp above the countertop, running a couple long nails across the grooves of the marble and pausing when he holds up two crystal glasses, blinking from each woman.

"Well? Tap or seltzer? either will do fine, for your condition." They sit down on the couch, and are suddenly overwhelmed with the fact that a beautiful man stole them away into the night and subsequently had them fired when he accidentally viewed their misuse. And they begin to shake.

"My cute princesses," He gently hands them the glasses after pressing his palm to their foreheads. "My beautiful girls." He smiles, a gentle chuckle escaping from deep in his throat, his eyelashes shadowing his cheeks. "I hope you agree that leaving yourselves in my care for a while is best for you." They nod honestly. "And that the man you were previously hired by was not an acquaintance you would like to keep." Another nod in agreement.

"You must tell me more about him, all right? Your confessions must not fall on dull ears...That would be simply wicked to you to keep it a secret for that long. You must have been in such pain. I am sorry, my girls. I am sorry that such an awful, awful man was to do such horrible things to you." The clock is at half past, and it's best for them to leave now. He gives them his coat, he tells them to call him if they need anything else under the next couple days, and that he'll keep them on tab as much as he can, and that of course he is a very busy man so it may be with some difficulty that he is able to see them every week but he'll keep their paycheck full. They agree happily, and like that, Rente Moreau has given them new lives.

He has also gathered full intel from the closest companions of the rivaling politician to the one he's been in cahoots with since early spring, and he's going to use the information of the girls' abuse (and the following sex scandal to his wife, as this man is long married) to completely tank his career. The door closes, and Rente spins on his heels, bursting into hysterical peals of laughter and dragging his hands across his face. He's done his job--the one that he hired himself to carry out. Artfully bending humanity into despair! Black winding sheets of energy suddenly conspire out of thin air around his hands and feet, sculpting them into sharp, obsidian-like claws.

There is a bird fluttering against his window. His laughter subsiding, he winds there, his hips swaying softly, an unusually sultry gait for a businessman as he strips off his coat languidly and tosses it on the couch. He opens the window, breathes in the city smog, and lets the raven fly in, catching its letter in the air.
Dear Mr. Moreau,

Signed,
Your Father

A slow, slick smile crosses Rente's face. He traces the Your Father with a strange fascination, a hum, like a purr, reverberating in his thin chest. His sculpted black claw punctures the period at the end of mistake, and he looks up to the security camera on his left. He smiles, eyes widening. Rente speaks into thin air.

"Ah, would you look at that! This life is becoming more wonderful than previously expected."

Bertholdt sits in his director's chair shrouded in shadow. The actors—they don't look at him until permitted. That was one of his conditions. His actors, thinking it was just one if his eccentricities, really had no clue exactly [i]why.[/] Should someone have seen him at the moment, as his actors react to a horrific humanoid monster with thick, black liquid leaking out of its mouth with reasonable fear and horror, they would have viewed the yellow sparks flying from his head. Of course, each person in the building was being manipulated by his ability.

"Aaand, cut!"

The actors break their eyes away from the gruesome monster before them and their gazes shift to the shadows, where the director steps out with an elegant gait and a smile on his face. The monster had disappeared, and the actors, having been used to it, now dismiss it as holograms that don't show up on camera despite being turned away every time they asked the director. The actors—the newer ones recovering from the fright, the older ones riveted with every word Bertholdt says—turn their attention to the white-haired man.

His hair is pulled up into a high ponytail, and while his figure looks vaguely feminine, his height and features make it clear he is not. He watches as the actors give him their undivided attention, and he smiles.

"That's good, that's good. Everything we got is good for now. Why don't you all take a lunch, and we'll get back to filming afterwards?"

With that, Bertholdt watches his actors and camera men walk off, and he breathes out a sigh. His laugh is quiet and under his breath, and he almost doesn't notice when the raven perches itself on his head. He widens his eyes and looks up at it, his hands held up towards to it, his fingers bent. He blinks up at it a few times, looking almost childish. "Ah, ah! Is this for me, little bird? Fine, fine. Give it here."

When he takes the note, he reads it over with quick, green eyes. His face stays animated, changing expressions as he reads.

Dear Mr. Müller,

Due to recent events regarding the daughter of Greed, Vanessa, it has come to my attention that the human race is becoming more and more aware of your less than mortal existence. As you can already gather this is not a very good thing. For a moment after reading, he simply stares. He erupts into laughter afterwards, mostly at the mention of the word 'Father,' and he trots off to excuse himself and the rest of his actors for the day. He has business of his own to take care of now.

Estrelle gently lifted her heels off her feet as she entered her chateau in the Alps. It had been a couple of years since her last excursion in the limelight of the humans. Her hesitancy was purely calculative planning on which role would be the next step up, which was her next deserved position. She had considered royalty many times, but royalty didn't hold the same power as it had in the past, still the petting of her ego, but it lacked the control over others that truly made her pride shine.

There was a newspaper on the table, this one following the events in America. It held her current interest, all the shootings, all the chaos and corruption, it was the perfect place to breed her pride. She knew all too well the political systems of America, that's why being president hardly interested her. He was a figure head, but democracy made it nearly impossible for this particular figure head to get anything truly done, there had to be many people on her side and that wasn't her particular ability. She was more prone to infecting other with the self-serving attitude that she embodied. But still, there was a current draw towards America and the White House.

She lit up a cigarette and took her newspaper to the balcony that ran off her room. Still in suit, she propped her feet up on the balcony's railing. There were news about musicians, reviews on movies and books, list of those now dead (which she would read later), and the news on the current politics. She smiled, breathing out the smoke, letting it trail from her red lips. The country was chaotic as ever, she would fit in easily it would be as if this particular country had been made for her.

"Excuse me miss," a voice came from the doorway. Estrelle had a handful of servants working for her. Sure she thought about the risks of never being able to release her human form, but she honestly couldn't live alone, to take care of this mansion and retain her higher status. She couldn't perform servant duties, that was too much for her fragile pride.

"What is it?" Estrelle said, not looking back. She never really like being interrupted by the servants in her own quarters and there would be repercussions on this woman for doing so, but only after she said what she came to say.

"A-a letter for you, I suppose."

"You suppose, shouldn't you know?"

"It came by a bird, a-a raven that was just standing outside the door." Estrelle arched her eyebrow, finally looking back at the servant.

"Bring it here," she demanded. The servant obeyed, stepping back to the doorway when the letter was in Estrelle's hand.

Dear Mme. Monette,

Your Father

Your Father, Estrelle puzzled at the words. Not once in her existence could she recall of a higher power over her, especially not that of a patriarchal persuasion. But of course, the knowledge of He who was banned from Heaven and now ruled his own domain, He who took possession of the souls that had been touched by Pride. It must be Him.

"You didn't read this did you?" Estrelle asked, her head not moving, but her eyes flicking to the woman.

"No Madame," she answered, her voice quivering, "There was no name addressed to you, but I figured it must be for you anyway, so I brought it straight here."

"Very good," Estrelle answered, tucking the letter under her shirt, "Now come here, we must talk about your mistake at entering my chambers." With shaking limbs, the servant obeyed. "Now close your eyes." She obeyed. Then the light seemed to fade around Estrelle, though the porch light was on, until she was nothing but a shadow herself, great stag horns appeared out of her head, and then a light, of an immoral shade of pink, draped around Estrelle's and the servant's body.

The lights flickered and all was back to normal.

Estrelle sent the woman to the front door and called a cab. She had been dismissed for her disobedience. Tomorrow, Estrelle would make her plans to travel, but for now she lavished herself in the evening light at her chateau in the Alps.

Aj-Sha slipped on a pair of stocking and cinched her robe around her waist, with it's shear fabric she wasn't hiding anything but having it closed gave off the illusion of her body being more covered. She walked around the desk and leaned against the front of it, waiting for Valko to arrive.

When he walked in the door she flashed him a sultry smile, "Valko, love, I'm glad you came without keeping me waiting." She coed, lifting off the desk and walking over to him.

"We have something to discus, you and I." she reached down between her bosom and slowly pulled out the letter she had received earlier. Whether she placed it there on purpose or not well, that was anyone's guess.

She handed the piece of paper to him, "Has a little black bird-y brought you this as well?" She brought a hand to her lips and ran a finger across her tongue as she looked Valko up and down. He looked as rough as usual and he brought in with him a heavy smell of nicotine and tobacco. He could have a lot of pretty young woman falling all over him if it weren't for that forever burning inferno of a temper he had. He was the son of Wrath after all.

"If you have it seems we have some traveling to do. The place we thought we'd never see again is quite far from here."

Aj-Sha closed her mouth and licked her lips as her energy started to glow and let out a deep, hungry giggle. Her mind starting to wander onto other thoughts as she awaited his response.

Were Valko's horns showing? He thought they might be, and if so then his skin had darkened every so slightly, as if he had gotten a sudden tan. His eyes would be a bright blue, his hair reddish, and that damned scar would be visible. Being around any of the sins made it hard for him to control his darker side, but Aj-Sha, it was always worse with her. Maybe it was her power, maybe it was the sheer fabric.

"Careful of papercuts, dear." Valko says, reaching down to pull a similar letter, though it was now a bit crumpled, from the from pocket of his dress pants. Opening it, he holds it up for Aj-Sha to see, then folds it back up and places it once again in his pockets. "So, we're going home then? I don't know whether it sounds like a dream or a nightmare. Place brings back a lot of memories, huh?"

Just thinking about the place, what had caused them all to decide it was time to even invent that place, causes green energy to wisp up from Valko's hands, now clenched at his sides. Taking a breath, he looks Aj-Sha over, getting a good look at her now, and the wisps thicken a bit before he lets the breath out and begins to ease back into his humans form. He was sure no humans were close enough to be affected by either of them, but better safe than sorry. Boy was that a phrase he'd learned the hard way.

"Are we getting the band back together then?" He asks before turning and walking over to the bed. He takes a seat at the foot of it, crosses his arms over his chest as he looks back up at Aj-Sha.

(Meanwhile...)

Quincy was a big man, even if it was mostly muscle, and standing under the lights all day had taken a toll on him. His feet hurt, he was sweating buckets, and all he wanted to do was retire to his dressing room, slip into a pair of his worn jeans and a ratty t-shirt and be on his way. The combination of heat from the stove tops and the bright overhead lights, not to mention those the camera people set up all around the set, almost made him miss the old days, when he wandered the dark back alleyways. Thankfully this would be over soon.

Some cooking network had decided that Quincy needed to be on television for longer than thirty seconds. They wanted a show, not just some commercials. Personally, Quincy didn't care one way or the other. He was getting to cook and eat as much as he wanted, and he was getting paid for doing it.

"Alright Bo, we're done for the day." Alexandria, one of the producers, a dark haired woman who might have been attractive to Quincy if she wasn't the size of a dry stick. She had taken to calling him Bo and he didn't mind that, he just wished she would eat something every once in a while. "You looked good out there. They tell me the pilot episode will air in a couple of weeks, and if all goes well the network wants to sign you to a ten episode series, with a holiday special, of course."

"Of course." Quincy says. He reaches back to untie his apron, and as he does so he activates his ability. Everyone is busy cleaning up the set and doing whatever it is they do with the equipment. Taking just a dash of his red energy, he touches it to Alexandria's shoulder, just enough to make her a little hungry for something other than salad. "I don't suppose you'd like to grab something to eat later, would you?"

"Now that you mention it, I am a little hungry." Alexandria says, blushing as her stomach growls.

"I know a nice little Italian restaurant downtown." Quincy says with a smile, folding up his apron as Alexandria walks him towards the dressing room. "Meet there in half an hour or so?"

"Sure..." Alexandria says as she turns back. The smell of the food that had been cooked during the episode lingered in the air and she almost licked her lips.

After speaking for a moment more, Quincy steps into his dressing room and shuts the door behind him. Turning to face the door, he hangs his apron on a hook mounted there, and when he turns back he finds a raven perched on his mirror. "Nevermore?" Quincy mutters as he walks over to the bird, unable to discern how it got into this room, and how no one noticed it. He notices the letter then and after the raven lets him take it, he breaks the wax seal and takes a look.

Dear Chef Bordelon,

Due to recent events regarding the daughter of Greed, Vanessa, it has come to my attention that the human race is becoming more and more aware of your less than mortal existence. As you can already gather this is not a very good thing. You and the other sins were sent to earth to taint it and if you're discovered you will be destroyed or worse, put on display like zoo animals. I highly suggest all of you return to where you started and discuss this matter further as well as figure out the best coarse action to take in these trying times. A notice has been sent to the others as well.

Do not disappoint me.
Do not become a mistake.
Signed,
Your Father

"I see," Quincy says as he looks up from the letter, frowning when he finds the bird mysteriously gone. "It seems I may have to cancel my dinner reservations. Such a pity, I was looking forward to seeing Alex enjoying herself tonight. Maybe I'll return before she grows old and dies. Shouldn't be gone for that long this time...I hope."

Tap. Tap. Tap Vanessa's long golden nails echoed as she drummed them against the steel table before her. Impatient she leant back in the steel framed chair and stared directly at the man who sat opposite her. He fidgeted, unnerved by her gaze choosing to re-stack a pile of paperwork he had already shuffled a number of times. The room was a small square, nothing lay within other than them and the table between them. The only other object being a light which hung precariously from the ceiling showering a dim source of light directly above them. If you listened carefully to the silence of the room its slight creaking could be heard as it swung very gently.

"Miss Valentine, I trust you understand why we brought you in for questioning?" The man asked looking towards her with some confidence finally.

Vanessa raised her eyebrow ceasing her fingers movement on the table. "I assume you're trying to place some sort of claim in regards to the recent embezzlement that occurred to the accounts of one of my banks. I hate to disappoint you Mr Granger but you are woefully wasting your time bringing me here. To try to charge me for embezzling out of my own company is ludicrous and you can take it up with my lawyers."

Vanessa moved her chair back in order to stand however Mr.Granger, as he had introduced himself, held up his hand to halt her.

"I'm not questioning you regarding your recent business affairs Miss.Valentine" he said which peeked Vannessa's curiosity.

Intrigued she remained where she was. "Then forgive me Mr.Granger, I am afraid I do not understand why you have brought me here. Explain." she smiled towards him but her discontent was laced into her expression.

The man hesitated for a moment before carefully pulling out the sheets of paper he had stacked. "I want you to take a look at these" He said placing them down on the steel table one by one Vanessa saw that they were photographs. All of them were fresh prints, however, the images they showed had clearly been taken a long time ago, the quality of the photographs changed as he placed more down, originally faded they become sharper as black and white images adjusted into colour. Mr Granger was placing them down in order of age.

It was then he placed down the final photograph.

Vanessa felt her stomach twist, a feeling she a long forgotten. It was dread mixed with anger and slight shock. The final photograph was a photo of her walking in the street, but she had realised the one thing they all had in common when she saw it. All of these photographs, in one way or another, she was in them. It was hard to tell on the older ones, they were blurred and she was only a figure in the background. It would be difficult to pin point the images to being her without having been there during the taking of said photographs. But Vanessa knew it was her.

"What are these supposed to be?" she said in a bored tone. "If you're trying to prove that you have been taking illegal photographs of me without my permission" she picked up the newest image which was obviously her, she had no way of hiding that, she was still wearing the same light grey pants suit. "then congratulations I will contact my lawers to make a legal complaint. However what on earth are the point of these other images? They have no relevance to me in any way or form. So if you don't mind Mr.Granger, I'd like to get on with this I have a very busy schedule, can you cut to the chase?" her voice raised in a dominating manner as she did not hide her irritation.

"Cut to the chase?" Mr Granger was a little surprised but nodded "alright." he leant forward and gestured towards the photographs. "we believe that you are in all of these images Miss Valentine" he paused to gage Vanessa's reaction but she had many years of faking her emotions under her belt. She made sure to show an expression of disbelief. "We brought you here to question you in regards to this." he finished.

"Are you serious?" Vanessa widened her eyes to show her incredulity.

"T-This is the honest truth Miss Valentine" Mr granger spoke hesitantly.

"What are you an imbecille!" she picked up the photographs. "How on earth would any of these be of me? I know I look good for my age but are you seriously trying to suggest I was in a photo, which by the look of the buildings, is from the 1800's?"

"W-we-" Mr granger began to talk but Vannessa angrily rose out of her chair and began to storm towards the door.

"This is the most ludicrous waste of my time. If you would excuse me I have no reason to stay any longer and you have no justification to keep me here on the basis of a stupid idea that I am the woman in all of these photographs. Nor does it make any sense to why you have even compiled this information together! She pulled on the door handle opening the door of the interrogation room.

"Miss Valentine!" Mr granger hurriedly called after her. "You can not leave until we release you" he paced by her side as she stormed through the building.

"Mr Granger, you have pulled me out of one of the most important business meeting of my current career for a set of photographs. Your reasoning is unjustifiable, you have no evidence and no reason to keep me here unless you wish to become involved in a legal battle as I sue for misconduct." she stopped and looked at him expectantly.

Some other officers had come into the hallway hearing the argument that had taken place between them. However so had Vanessa's two bodyguards who had been waiting for her. They moved to stand beside her as a few officers moved to stand beside Mr Granger. He looked to each of his colleagues as they muttered to one another before returning his attention back to Vannessa.

It seemed as though he was strained for a moment, but Mr granger eventually opening his mouth "You may leave. We do not wish to take up more of your time" he sighed pulling a hand through the back of his light brown hair.

"hmph, smart choice" Vanessa turned and headed towards the doorway her two bodyguards following.

As she opening the doors a gust of wind ran through her blonde hair her eyes fixating on the vehicle parked on the curb, a man standing beside it dressed in black, a drivers hat upon his head. "Take me to the helicopter" she instructed the chauffeur who nodded immediately opening the back door of the black limousine for her. Her two bodyguards joined her in the back as she rested into the leather seats.

What had happened was very disturbing. She had managed to leave fairly easily, the threat of the law on her hands. No one could buy better lawyers than her and they knew it. But what about the others?

As the limousine began to move she cracked down the window slightly. Suddenly to her shock a black raven burst through the gap however instead of panicking like a normal bird would this one calmly landed on her lap. A piece of paper resting between its beak. Her bodyguards watched it curious but didn't move without her say so. She paid them well.

She raised her eyebrow at the bird before gently taking the letter from it. The moment the letter was in her hands the raven took off expertly exiting through the gap in the window. Using her golden nails Vanessa broke the wax seal of the envelope and read its contents.

Dear Miss Valentine,

Due to recent events regarding the daughter of Greed, Vanessa, it has come to my attention that the human race is becoming more and more aware of your less than mortal existence. She closed the letter and immediately placed into a pocket in her blazer. It was a generic letter that must have been sent out to them all, but the nerve of calling himself their father? She shook her head. Though somehow he was correct, it was time for a reunion.

Marjeta Branković

The sun shone down with a brilliance and light that starkly contrasted the mood of the small gathering. There was a surprisingly small turnout considering the social standing of the deceased entrepreneur, the number of people who actually cared much fewer than he'd have you believe.

Everyone was dressed in the obligatory black, and the priest's words were solemn and cookie cutter. After all, he did not know the man well- the Brankovic's didn't regularly attend church like most of his congress, and he had nothing personal or heartfelt to add. Nor, did it seem, did anyone else for that matter. A few in attendance dabbed daintily at their eyes, and some actually managed to look dismayed. They were sad, but it wasn't a significant enough loss to prompt raw emotion in any of them.

Except for one.

Long after the last of the few remaining friends and family who showed up for the funeral and burial had taken their leave, one woman looked mournfully down at the marble grave marker and promptly sniffled, tears flowing anew. Damn him!

"You can't leave me here alone! You were supposed to stay with me!" she all but wailed, blowing her nose into a fresh tissue. Putting it away in a plastic zip lock, she felt her lips pout in an almost defiant gesture. Sure, he wasn't the most well-liked individual, or even the most attractive or appealing, but he was successful and doted on her. Being wed to him was cozy and privileged, so she was fine with it. Now he had to go and die at the ripe young age of 43. Jerk.

About to start feeling sorry for herself once more, Marjeta was brought from her wallowing thoughts as a raven perched itself onto the nearest tombstone, showing no signs of fear at being near a potential predator. What wild animal would come so near a human? The raven gave her a pointed stare, regarding her in a way no normal animal would. Even more peculiar than it's behavior however, was a note tied to it's ankle just as people of old did with carrier pigeons.

Marjeta hesitated only a second before untying the note, the raven flying off as soon as she had it in her hands. A strange feeling of deja' vu overcame her at seeing the wax seal, wondering why she felt as if she'd seen it before. She carefully broke the wax and unrolled the paper, reading the brief note that was indeed addressed to her.

Dear Mrs. Marjeta Branković,

It took considerable willpower on her part to keep from crumpling the paper as she finished reading, scornfully regarding the last two words. 'Your Father'. As if! That one was no father. When had he ever cared about her?! How dare he compare himself to a father! With an annoyed huff, Marjeta stuffed the letter into her purse, frowning as she looked at her husband's grave once more.

Aj-Sha smirked at Valko and moved in front of him, "Love, placing yourself on my bed is inviting yourself to stay in it all night."She coed, tracing a finger along his jaw and tilting his head up to look at her.

"But yes, it would appear we need to go...home, for lack of better terms. Though it hasn't been home for a long time." She let go of his chin and turned, walking over to her desk with a usual soft sway in her hips.

She picked up the phone and dialed the front desk again.

Ross answered, "Yes Ma'am?"

"Hun, would you be so kind as to acquire us two plane tickets to Russia as soon as possible please?" She flirted into the phone, twirling the cord around her finger.

"Can do as soon as we close Ma'am."

Aj-Sha smiled, "Thank you again Ross." She hung up the phone and ran a hand through her hair and pushed some of it out of her ember burning eyes. Ross was a sweet man for a head crusher, and probably the only person Aj-Sha had never used her powers on.

She turned back to Valko, "I hope you don't have an issue with planes dear." She walked back to him and sat next to him, ever to close. Her bosom just barely brushing his arm as she crossed her legs.

"I would pack light. It's a long walk to that place and we can always pick up more necessities at the nearest town before we lock ourselves in." She said softly, reaching up and brushing some hair behind his ear. Aj-Sha didn't know the meaning of keeping her hands to herself. She didn't expect her ways to get her anywhere with Valko. The sins weren't known for giving into one another's energy but at the end of the day she was lust, and if she wasn't trying to pull you into a night of intimacy something was wrong. Terribly wrong.

Aj-Sha ran a finger along her tongue, coating it in blue energy. "Valko, love, i'm curious. Have you ever tasted anything but Wrath?" She reached up and brought the finger to his lips, leaving his bottom lip coated in blue. It wouldn't have the same affect on him as it did mortals, He would feel a surge of wanting and lust but being her equal he would easily be able to control/be rid of it. However there was no denying it had a very distinct taste once tired.

Aj-Sha giggled softly and leaned back from him slightly, putting a little more space between both of them. "You can wipe it off dear, I'm just trying to seduce you. You are so very handsome tonight." She coed. A sultry smile returning to her lips as the grandfather clock in the corner of her room struck two in the morning. It was closing time.

When the servant left her room, Estrelle walked back inside her chambers, lounging down on her bed. She took the letter our from her shirt and looked it over once more. I highly suggest all of you return to where you started... The cold tundra, the desolated cave. How could this man proclaim to be her "father" and yet tell her to go back there, to leave behind her servants, her home of gilded finery and people who would drop everything for her attention. She never saw any reason to go back to that place, once she left she had always thought that that would be the last time she would have to be there or think of there. And now?

Now she was being commanded to return. Oh there was sugar coating words that made it seem as if she had a choice to return there, but she knew better. She had used that tone and strategy herself many times before.

It was dark out. She had said to herself she would leave in the morning, and there was a war inside her about that decision. On the first side she would rather not return at all and forgo the whole "suggestion", there was her plan about defiantly waiting as long as she could to prove to this "father" of hers that she wouldn't be bossed around by anyone and that it was purely her choice that she went, or she could leave now...

There was no pride in that last decision. It was following someone else's order, orders that she clearly would rather ignore than proceed with. If she truly was pride she would stand her ground against this force. She would show this father figure of hers that she would bow to no one's orders except her own. But it was a question of survival as well. If she obeyed she would no longer be the pride that she was born as, but if she disobeyed she would no longer be living.

Estrelle sighed and slide off her bed. She pinched the bridge of her nose as she walked up to the window, looking down on her ex-servant climbing into the cab as is she were the Queen of England.

"I'll arrive, sure," Estrelle whispered, "But I'll arrive precisely when I mean to."

She headed back to her bed, sliding the letter onto the table beside her. She would decide more precisely in the morning, for now she was going rest for a bit. Estrelle had locked the door, so any intrusion would be unlikely. As she moved away from the window she let herself slip out of her human form once more. Magnificent antlers appeared from her skull like a glorious crown of a deity, though the rest of her form was encroached by shadow until she was nothing more than what lurked behind you when you aren't looking.

"Some Father he is, trying to turn me into something that I'm not," Estrelle said to the darkness around her, Tsk I'll show him one day, I'm not one to just simply take orders. I make them."

Valko well knew what he was getting himself into by sitting on the edge of Aj-Sha's bed, but to him it was a little bit like a game. They had been around one another long enough, were old and strong enough, to be able to resist one another's powers. It was like a game to him. One which, he didn't know if the goal was to win or lose. Any man, or woman that mater, would love to go to bed with Aj-Sha, she was lust embodied after all, but long ago Wrath had been warned that there was a reason Sins never shared a bed. While Valko himself and the others hadn't been 'born,' that didn't mean they could not have children with one another. And the thought of creating a being that embodied both wrath and lust?

Still, he was a man, and he watched the sway of her hips as she walked away. Couldn't help himself.

"I hate flying..." Valko mutters at the mention of a plane. But it wasn't like going down in a plane crash would kill any of their kind. The sins had a knack of surviving. He turns his head to watch Aj-Sha as she speaks, getting too close as usual, touching him. Whenever a human touched him it just made him angry, but he knew Aj-Sha, and that combined with her powers calmed him a bit, that was one reason he had chosen to stay with her after his professional career had tanked. He needed an anchor.

With a smirk, Valko licks his lip and takes in her energy. In truth he has tasted the power of another sin before. Gluttony had once tried to use his power on Wrath, somehow not knowing who Valko really was. That hadn't gone well.

The taste of Aj-Sha's energy was, odd. He had expected it to be sweet, overly so, but and it was sweet, but it was also bitter. it took him a moment to recall the taste, but when he could remember it he smirked. "Tastes like mead." He says, chuckling a little, though as he says this his own energy begins to drip from his hands, causing the room to glow slightly green. While there was a bit of desire to be had from that taste, he was ultimately Wrath, that was always his primary emotion.

When the clock strikes closing time, Valko grumbles a bit and stands, then begins to pace back and forth before Aj-Sha. Her energy, while affecting him as it would any man, had also triggered a spike in his own powers, and now he was restless.

"I always pack light, you know that," Valko says, irritation clear in his voice. He pauses and turns to Aj-Sha, the green energy flaring brightly for a moment as he says, "Are you saying I don't normally look handsome?" The flare fades again and he resumes pacing. Another game for the two of them, in a way. Whenever he felt vexed Valko would pace, and complain, trying to burn off energy so no one got hurt.

In the old days, he would have just started a war to blow off some steam.

Up and down, up and down, Nathaniel's head went ever so slightly as he rest his head of snow white hair upon the bosom of a dark-skinned woman in a rather skimpy outfit laying on a rather large bed as drool dribbled down her cheek if one took a glance they would think she was asleep, but her half open eyes said otherwise and if one stared directly into those eyes they could tell that this woman had completely given up on living and did not care about herself or the child upon her chest.

Nathaniel did nothing but stare blankly with his gray empty eyes at a fairly large television screen, almost directly in front of him. not moving an inch, except to let out a sigh or when his head bobbed up and down due to the woman's shallow breaths. as the bright lights from the television danced around the dark room, as a Spanish woman in a suit sitting in front of a glass desk inside the television spoke.

"de acuerdo con estudios recientes , el número de muertos por la heroína y otros narcóticos mortales ha aumentado rápidamente en los últimos años nuestro propio Andrew Rodríguez tiene más información sobre la historia" Nates eyes broke away from the TV screen for a moment to stare at the remote on the other side of the women he rested on wanting to change the channel, but unable to find the willpower to do so.

But just as the news anchor was about to talk again the doors to the room burst open allowing a pure black raven to swoop in and perch directly on top of the screen and stare directly at him while he returned the stare looking directly at the paper in its beak.

soon after the raven came in three more intruders appeared all in black suits panting as though they just ran a marathon "Boss! were really sorry about this we had no idea how this thing got past us"

letting out a deep sigh Nate motioned with a lowered finger for them to move forward "bring the bird over here and get the paper you dimwits" as the three men began walking towards it but as they got closer the raven took off and landed on the woman's other breast.

staring down the raven opposite of him he reached out a hand in a slow motion and plucked the paper out of its beak and began opening it as the raven flew away in a swift motion.

Nate stared directly at the one spot on the letter not moving his gaze for a second, as he stared at the one word that would truly ever get his full attention...father. after what seemed like an eternity he finally spoke up "jammy go purchase one first class ticket to Russia, the rest of you bring the car around." without saying a word the three men left in a hurried motion while Nate returned to staring at the paper intently.

Aj-Sha smirked and readjusted her glasses,"Hun you are always attractive. Tonight just more than usual."

She pushed off the bed and slowly removed her robe, letting it fall to the floor.

"I don't know why but you got the air of a mysterious and dark stranger that sweeps women off their feet and into the night."

She stretched, her nightgown lifting and exposing more of her long legs.

"Then again darkness seems to always be there." Her eyes flashed as if their embers had been stoked, "Lurking under your skin, in the corners of your eyes, and the way you move your lips."

The faint sound of rolling thunder could be heard in the distance as Aj-Sha moved to the door and picked up her key ring. It jingled with sound of keys for every door in her brothel.

She walked over to Valko, "It's ever so alluring. Any poor girl would be drawn in like a moth to a flame." She trailed a hand up his arm and gave him a soft smile.

"If i could ever tempt you i could show you a darkness to match. Lust isn't always satin sheets and roses." She giggled and licked her lips.

"Then again you might not take to kindly to having your hands tied behind your back. Oh no..." She pressed a finger to her lips, her eyes showing she was lost in her own head.

"You're one who'd like me to be the one all tied up and at your mercy, Am i right?" Aj-Sha closed her eyes and giggled again, this time sounding a little drunk. She moved herself back and shook her head.

"Excuse me love, I got a little carried away. My mind sometimes runs off without me." She covered her mouth with the back her hand and swallowed the blue energy pooling into her mouth.

Slowly shifting back into her human form she motioned to the door, "Shall we?" She blinked her now emerald eyes and touched her cheeks. If her deep, flustered blush was apparent before it certainly was now. She usually had more control of herself around Valko, but not being able to be in anyone's company all day had left her a little weak at the knees.

She swayed back to her bed and picked up her robe, tying it tightly back around her waist. "Just one thing, Dear. Keep me from devouring the first mortal man I see. In our situation that wouldn't look to good."

Green energy rose up around Valko like a cloud of steam as he watched Aj-Sha from the corner of his eye. Anyone looking on might think he had been pacing back and forth so long that he was starting to catch fire. He takes a half step, then stops with a grumble when her robe falls away, revealing more of herself which, given the material, seemed impossible, but happened just the same. Valko's heart was racing, and at that moment he had two options flitting back and forth in his mind as Aj-Sha ran her hand up his arm.

Both began with an F, and neither one was Firetruck.

"I'll be sure to warn Ross that you're a little peckish." Valko says with a grim smirk, but it quickly turns into a frown. "You know that can't happen, not with you or any woman. People come to my flame, and they end up burning to ash. We've been together long enough that I know you've seen it happen."

Although Valko could be calm enough most of the time, the things that normally caused a human to feel things like happiness or excitement, just made him want to punch something. Aj-Sha's energy was effecting him more than he had thought it would, clouding his mind, dulling his rage, his Wrath, but the energy was still there nonetheless. Now, as he watches her standing by the bed, he takes a deep breath, trying to forget the images she placed in his head, trying to chalk them up to her power. He was reigning in his energy, returning fully to his human form. When he closes his eyes the green energy fades away, slowly, and once he opens them again he looks human as well, though he has never felt like it.

"Maybe we do need to head back Home." Valko says, letting out the breath. "I think if we don't do something soon, we might just devour one another."

Heavy snow swirled around them in the grey, foggy atmosphere as they trudged through the forest. Aj-Sha hugged her coat closer to her as they followed an all to familiar path, her face holding an somber expression uncharacteristic to her. This way flooded her mind with memories of the past.

She bit her lip anxiously and tried to focus only on the sound of her crunching footsteps and ignore the faint feeling of blood on her hands and face. When Aj-Sha had left this shelter she had left her secret with it. Now that she was returning it was too. She shivered and took a deep breath, the hot air flowing a frosty white through her slightly parted lips.

She rolled her shoulders, readjusting her backpack full of her personal wares and looked up at her eight (in a way) siblings. Aj-Sha could remember clearly the day they were formed and given life. Child-sized and dumped in the middle of nowhere, naive and surging with immense power. They had no knowledge of how to control it and no one to teach them. She scowled under her breath as she remembered how they learned the hard way that mortals would give no help either, and they weren't to pleased with those who were different. She still flinched expecting the searing pain of licking flames whenever she heard the word "witch." They may be immortal but that didn't mean they didn't feel pain.

They were driven out by mobs and that's why they made this shelter. If no one was going to help them they were going to learn to survive themselves. And they did.

They all stopped outside the invisible barrier further hiding their home from the outside world. It was they only present they had received from their supposed father. Small, faint glows of their colors that only they could see marked its edge. Aj-Sha swallowed and gathered herself, knowing whaat was to come with crossing it. She reached out and pushed her hand through, wincing as she watched it turn from human to one that belonged to her true form. The barrier hid their home but they could not hide from themselves inside.

She clenched her jaw and took another deep breath through clenched teeth, closing her eyes, she moved the rest of herself inside. She gasped and coughed as power surged through her at a rapid rate. Her nails dug into the ground and her tail flicked back and forth as she waited out the pain. Her eyes flared and blue energy poured out of her mouth creating a pool around her. As well as taking away the power to change their form it also temporarily magnified their power beyond control instantly. And it was not fun. Such a sudden release of so much power would leave a lesser being dead. It felt like a bomb going of in every inch of her body.

After about 30 seconds the pain started to die and Aj-Sha's control returned. She panted heavily as she fought to regain her breath.

She looked at those around her, "You know dears, even when we did that every day I never got used to it."

Valko grumbled nearly the whole journey, starting from the time they left the brothel. There was no part of this situation that he liked, and even worse, there was nothing he could do about it. Unless they wanted to take weeks to reach their home then flying was the only option, and he hated flying. Then there was the cold. He had been born in this region, by which he was tossed out into the snow after his creation by his father, and he had left as soon as he could manage it. The accusations of his being a demon and begin chased out by holymen had helped as well, of course. But now he was back, and worse, that bastard Quincy would be there.

Since they had met, neither man had liked the other. Each of them tried again and again to get the other caught or killed when they were younger, then they tried to use their powers on one another. The joke was on Quincy, though, because Valko never ate anything he didn't prepare for himself.

The snow crunched and the cold winds sang through the trees. Valko had no idea what season it was, there was always snow, a perpetual winter no matter what the calendar might say. Over his normal attire, Aj-Sha had persuaded him to wear an old long coat, made of leather and lined with the fur of a grey wolf. If not for her insistence he wouldn't have worn a coat at all. The cold wouldn't kill him, thanks to his power he ran to hot for that.

To Valko, the barrier was, at first, completely invisible, but the closer he got he saw it as something like a mirror, reflecting the mortal world back, warning humans to stay away. A green light shimmered before him on the surface, and it rippled as Aj-Sha stepped through to the other side. Cursing, Valko followed soon after.

The surge of power that hit him was like being struck by lighting; it hurt, it burned, and it pissed him off. His human appearance was burned away by the energy, and at once it was like his arms were engulfed in dark green flames. Rattling off a string of curses in a language long forgotten, Valko walks off to the side, where a plain looking black slab of stone stands. Scratches and cracks pit the surface, and when he slams first his left, then his right fist into the stone, two more cracks appear. If this stone were from the mortal realm, it would be dust, but as it was Valko took the brunt of the damage. But it helped calm him down.

"I see you're just as reckless as every, Val." Said a rumbling voice from across the way.

Turning, Valko can see Quincy, his stomach open and grinning at him, licking it's lips. He often wondered if the oaf had a second brain to control that thing.

"And you're still shamelessly plugging your shit microwave food." Valko says, wrath, his namesake, flooding into his voice. "They tried to make me eat one of those lard and chicken bone stomach aches on the flight over here!"

Vanessa pulled her white fur coat tighter as she trudged through the heavy snow in thick hiking boots. Snow belted down around her melting on her skin as it landed wetting her blond hair causing strands to cling to her cheeks. She had taken a helicopter to a nearby town in Russia. From there she had rented a red Ferrari and driven as far as the roads were able to the place where they all began. At the foot of the mountain, she had met up with her fellow sins. It had been a very long time since she had seen any of them. It was a sobering reunion.

Together they followed an all too familiar path through the thick fog of snow against a grey sky. She had never truly wanted to return to this place. It was bleak and reminded her too much of their past, of the harsh truths they had learned about mortals when discovering themselves. It had been an incredibly difficult time of their lives as they grew, learning to control their powers, and themselves.

Soon they reached the barrier that lead to their home in those dark times. It shimmered against the light that struck it colours flickered through along the edges. Thier colours, their powers. Vannessa stood back as Aj-Sha took the first step through the barrier. As she moved her full body through Aj-Sha disappeared behind the barrier. Vanessa knew she would now be in her true form. A curse of the barrier.

Valko was the next to take the plunge. Quincy following eager not to be left behind by his rival. Vanessa rolled her eyes at them. Since their existence sparked life they had been at each other's throats. It irritated her but she had grown accepting of it after all these years. She no longer tried to talk them out of their ways as she once did in the past.

With a heavy sigh Vanessa loosened her grip on her fur coat.

"Let's get this over with then" she grumbled.

Without hesitation, she stepped through the portal in one quick motion preferring to take the blunt of the power surge rather than inching her way through. As she stepped through to the other side her arms flexed beside her as instant pain surged through her body. It felt as though needles were prickled against her skin in every nook and crany of her body. She winced her expression showing her pain as power coarsed through her body. Brown mist began to flow from her feet flowing smoothly from the ground wrapping itself around her legs traveling towards her torso, arms and finally head. "Fucking Hell" she cursed as her head became engulfed.

As quickly as it had started the pain began to dissipate the brown mist falling back to the ground. As the mist left her body her once human features were replaced with those of her true form. Her skin pale she looked towards Aj-Sha, Valko and Quincy with cold blue eyes her head now crowned with two large golden jagged horns which splintered. They curled towards her shoulders as overlapping horn straightened above her head. The skin of her arms was pure white before melting into a darkened black at her wrists her hand the colour of coal. Opening her ruby red lips she spoke with a velvet voice. "Let's be glad we don't 'have' to do this every day" Vannessa replied to Aj-Sha's comment.

"I must agree with Valko Quincy, I am sick of only having your 'meals' as an option when I travel. Vannessa raised her eyebrows at him before dropping her shoulders and relaxing into her true form after a long absence. "Though I have to commend your achievement to infect the world with your gluttony"

Stepping forward into the cave out of the glare of the barrier Vanessa turned to face the sins placed her hands on her hips holding her head with air of superiority. "Well, shall we return to our beginnings" she indicated towards the darkness of the cave and the home that it lead too.

Estrelle trudged through the snow ridden forest, her head facing fully into the snow, her body wrapped in the fur cloak she had made when she was last here. She walked alone, asking for help to hike up the mountain was weak and beneath her. If she was going to return to that place she would do so how she left it, with the power and grace of the only person who could ever be known as 'Pride'. It wasn't easy, it never was, especially in conditions like this where it was more natural to show weakness, but that only made the stakes higher. As everybody knows, the higher the stakes the greater the outcome for the winner.

The woman saw footsteps all leading up to the cave, there weren't a ton of footprints so she knew she wasn't the last like she had hoped. However, it was too late to turn back now or to wait. Part of being who she was, was to hold her head high no matter what happened, no matter what the circumstances. If she made a mistake or miscalculated a circumstance she would move forward from it. If she didn't like the outcome of something, she would never complain.

It was a long hike to the cave from where she began, she was starting to sweat and that sweat was starting to freeze. Estrelle gritted her teeth, refusing her body to shiver, but she did pull her cloak tighter around her.

She slowed her pace as she saw the faint glow of their energy peek through the falling snow and fog. She could see all the different colors, but her own, at least to her, was the brightest and floated out like fabric being blown by wind. She paused, gritted her teeth one last time and raised her head. This was going to be painful, but even though everyone understood she was in pain she would not allow them to see it written on her face.

With her decision made, she un-clutched her cloak and as she stepped through without hesitation, as if she had done so in stride. Her cloak flew out behind her as the depraved pink of her energy layered over the her fur cloak. She took a breath and her eyes closed, though they weren't squeezed shut, as the burst of energy ripped through her body. It happened quickly, all the natural light on her seemed to disappear until she was nothing but a shadow and great antlers grew out of the top of her head crowning her silhouette.

She opened her hidden eyes and walked forward, not even a twitch had shivered her shadow. She sauntered forward towards the others.

"If we are so inclined to come back then there's no reason to put off going further in," Estrelle said, "And you really should be commended Quincy on advancing your gluttonous plague so well. And Vanessa, your own empire seems to be rather brilliantly large I hear as well. I'm guessing they didn't have much for evidence if you're here so quickly?" She said all this as she traversed passed the group, heading further down into the cave.

Marjeta Branković

Marjeta found the flight to be nearly unbearable, crammed into her two first class seats. No amount of leg room, champagne, or in flight amenities could make up for the fact that she was stuck travelling with common humans and not on her own private jet. It wasn't as if her late husband couldn't afford such a thing. He preferred to spend his money on yachts, cars, and jewelry for her. He himself didn't care for flight, and had never invested in so much as a small helicopter.

As it was, her mood was already rather sour upon arriving. Of all places for their sanctuary to be, it had to be somewhere in the middle of nowhere on this godforsaken ice box called Russia. She tugged her fur coat tighter around her as she trudged out of the town and up the mountain towards their unseen refuge (if one dared call it such). It was at least 2 hours before she could finally make out the otherwise invisible barrier that surrounded the place, the colors shimmering and moving like the walls of a bubble. Her own color stood out the most, the orange a far cry from the human assumptions. People used the phrase 'green with envy', and yet her power was a burning orange. She never did understand how such a saying came about.

Stopping for a moment before the barrier keeping humans blind and unawares of their home, Marjeta pursed her lips in distaste, not looking forward to the experience. Thinking it incredibly unfair for them to need to feel power in such a sudden rush, she stepped through the veil of energy. She nearly vocalized her discomfort, but kept composed even as a burning pain prickled along her entire body, coursing through like an electric shock. She didn't want to be seen as inferior to any of the others. All the sins were fairly cunning, and each was powerful. These were people who could rival her in power and beauty. She couldn't look weak and therefore unworthy of their attention.

Her human form gave way to reveal her truest nature- her appearance not unduly frightening to look at (unlike gluttony for example- that stomach really unnerved her), but it was bizarre all the same. Scales covered most of her skin, and her hair became accented with green. She secretly thought herself superior to the others, though she wished others could see it. After all, what really made people turn to sin in the first place? Sure, her fellow sins were the specific types of failings, but what was the ultimate reason people did things? They want something. Money, power, an enemy eliminated, favor, attention, respect, love, sex, drugs, food, drama, reactions. All these things and more were because they wanted what they wanted. No matter what feelings or desires people had, the motivation was wanting the world to be their way. Envy was the original sin, the one that prompted all the others. So therefore, she reasoned she must be superior.

Not that any of the others agreed, obviously.

Turning to face the others, she frowned at Vanessa's grumbling. Get it over with? What nerve! "You should talk. After all, you're the reason we're here in the first place." Marjeta snapped at the mistress of greed, walking past her with a huff before catching Valco and Quincy bickering. She regarded them with an arched brow, wondering if it was even possible for the two to be in the same space and NOT argue. She had no problem with either of the two males or their sins, but she couldn't bring herself to be completely comfortable around Quincy's stomach, the extra maw making her more that just a tad queasy. Shame, since he was otherwise likeable enough. She nodded in acknowledgement and greeting to both Valko and Quincy in turn, only to hear Estrelle complimenting her fellow sins. Marjeta continued to walk towards their 'home' as it was, hoping Estrelle would give her some praise as well.

Aj-Sha sighed and pushed herself off the ground, wiping blue energy off her mouth with the back of her hand. "Aren't we just one big happy family?" She said breathlessly, brushing herself off and approaching Valko and Quincy.

"Darlings, Can't you at least wait a week to be sick of each other? Remember we are going to be here for a while." She brushed some hair out of Valko's face.

"Not as long as before mind you but still." She smiled her usual smile at Quincy. Not disturbed in the least by his stomach. They grew up together after all, it wasn't new to her. And she had met her fair share of deformed coming into her brothel late at night looking for paid love. Some worse to look at than his stomach.

"It's been a long time Hun. You still look as lovely as before." She flirted, meeting her eyes with his before turning towards the entrance of their "home." Estrella's body blending in with the initial darkness.

She pulled her coat close to her once again and looked up at her long time companion, Valko. "Shall we descend into hell together then, Dear?" She coed softly, biting her lower lip. She was trying to be her usual self but she could hear the wavering in her voice every time she spoke. And she cursed herself for it. No one liked a nervous lover.

Aj-Sha adjusted her glasses and took a deep breath, watching the hot air come out through her lips slightly tinted blue from her previous ordeal. She wondered if Valko had remembered what she had done. She wondered if any of the sins around her did. Or had it only been scaring to her. The one with blood on her hands. She shivered at the memory.

She was broken out of her thought by Marjeta's snapping remark cutting through the air. She smiled softly, "Oh darling don't be so sour. A scowl is to ugly to grace your breath-taking features." She flirted once more.

Aj-Sha looked back to the entrance trying hard not to slip her arm around Valko's and hold it close to her bosom. She wondered if the candles that lit the path down to the waterway were still aflame.
If the boat that carried them deeper into the cave still floated.
If the large main area was still grand and spacious with a trinket or two scattered here and there.
She wondered how much dust covered the things in their untouched rooms.

She shook her head and finally stepped forward, her fingers lingering at the back of Valko's arm. She was about to find out sooner or later.

For a few moments neither Valko nor Quincy said a word as the others crossed the barrier. Valko was still fuming, literally, as his green energy misted up his arms, lingering around his horns like a faintly glowing cloud of smoke. In this form, his scar was revealed, something he'd always hated. The other sins knew just how hard it was to injure one of their kind, but to do enough damage to leave a scar? In all honestly, Valko scarcely remembered how he had gotten the scar. Hints of memory said it had something to do with Aj-Sha, back when this place had first been called their home.

"Humans were born to bask in the warm light of our essences, dear sister." Quincy replied to Vanessa, grinning at her with both mouths, though never taking his eyes off Valko. "And, while I pride myself on my skills, it is not my fault humans adore such slop."

In truth the frozen meals Quincy's company produced were no better than any other freezer section dinner you could buy across the world. The only reason people ate them so much was because a little of his power was slipped into each of the meals. People had, at first, thought it odd that he would insist on seeing off each shipment of his product, but now it was just another phase in the operation, like plastic wrapping or placing the price tag.

"Technically, we've gone a few decades without fighting," Valko says, relaxing a little upon hearing Aj-Sha's voice close to his ear. He knew her well enough to detect the slight quiver in her tone. It was a rare thing for her, the sin of lust, always so sure of herself and full of confidence. He didn't like to her that tone in her voice, but in this place, he understood its being there.

Without a word, Valko reigns in his energy, until the green mist about his hands faces completely, and slips an arm around Aj-Sha's shoulders. He knows that even a creature like her needs a little comfort every now and then. He ignores the look Quincy gives him, and, guiding Aj-Sha forward gently, he follows the others further into the cave. It was pitch black for a time, but then the faint light of candles ahead began to illuminate their path for them.

"Never did like the dark much." Valko mutters as they continue on.

"Or flying, if memory serves." Quincy says, having taken up the rear of the procession. "However did you manage to take the plane out this way? Stick your head between your legs and kiss your ass the whole way, I suppose." When the son of Wrath did not take his bait and turn to swing at him, the son of Gluttony was rather surprised.

When entering the tunnel leading down, the tunnel that they had left unlit and was completely consumed in darkness, her own figure was disappeared completely. It had always bothered her that her true form could so easily disappear, that it wasn't visible entirely all the time. It was why when she left this place she hardly transformed into her true form unless it could be seen. What's there to be proud of if you can't be see after all? However, when she approached the candles, her figure flickered back and this was the part in her true form she always loved because with her form flickering between visible and hidden it actually grabbed more attention. Yes, in fear usually, but it was attention none-the-less. A little lesson that Bertholdt had taught her and one she never forgot.

Estrelle's languidly long skirt dipped into the water, over the edge of stone that her toes curled over. She looked at the wide tunnel, the water streaming softly in the the still burning candles. However, the boat was old. It was still floating, but had grown rickety over the years, even with their powers they couldn't stop something from getting older and worn.

"I don't know about you, but this may end up being more interesting than we expected," Estrelle commented. She lifted her skirt slightly, so her foot could easily test the boat's buoyancy. It wobbled on the surface, the bottom just a little more damp than it should be. Then with a sure step, she moved to stand in the boat, her skirt skimming the water. The boat weighted down and the bottom became even more damp. She sat down without a pause and looked up at the others who were arriving behind her.

"Tell me, who will be joining me in this almost too worn boat?" she asked, raising an almost hidden eyebrow and taking extra care to make her smile as teasing and challenging as possible. After all what kind of sin would she be if she didn't challenge the other's surety and confidence and of course poke fun at those who didn't live up to what she challenged.

"There's no reason to be shy, after all if you are it'll only prove to me you're weak," she said, tapping her chin and lifting it high in the air.

Marjeta Brankovic

As the sins began to make their way into their hideout as it were, Marjeta began to pout, feeling dismayed that she was not the focus of anyone's attention. No one was giving her any significant respect, and Estrelle was not praising her, though she praised the others.

Before she could sink further into her pity party, Aj-Sha's silky voice came in her direction, flirtatious and flattering words entering her ears. Marjeta smiled slightly as the temptress called her 'breath-taking', now suitably mollified for the time being. For one as lovely as lust to recognize her, it was good for her ego. Yes, she was breath-taking, wasn't she? That's right...

Even as they descended, Quincy and Valko continued to exchange verbal jabs, though surprisingly, wrath was maintaining his composure for the most part. At least for now in any case. What really caught envy's notice was how Valko bestowed attention on Aj-Sha. Sure, lust was a beautiful creature, but it wasn't fair! Marjeta had only recently had someone attending to her so carefully and readily, someone who even doted on her! But now she was alone again, and the gentlemanly display made her miss it anew. Why wasn't someone escorting her so gently?

Marjeta's brooding was cut short by the sight of the boat, only now pausing to take in her surroundings. Stopping to glance around her, she nearly shuddered at the cold, dark, and altogether uninviting atmosphere. And such a rickety boat! Who would want to step into such a thing?

Estrelle took initiative to step in first, and Marjeta glanced over sharply as pride challenged her fellow sins to follow her. Already not receiving attention from the woman, Marjeta was desperate to shove the mistake in her face. Taunting them and saying any who wouldn't was weak only sealed the deal, and despite her misgivings, envy followed before anyone else could seize the chance. She'd show Estrelle!

"I'm not afraid. Do scoot over so I have room." Marjeta announced, lifting her skirt just enough to spare it from getting wet, though it proved futile once inside the boat. Biting back a complaint, she sat down opposite the other woman, meeting pride's eyes.

*crawls back in from my absence exhausted & writes 'im back from anime expo' in my own blood on the floor*

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Take all the time you need don't rush yourself i think we would all prefer a well written and thought out post instead of a low quality rushed one.

(P.s. I should be done with my post in about two days i have been swamped with work and drama sorry)

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

'm so sorry I've been a terrible rp buddy! I keep passing out on the couch when I get home or passing out at my computer! I have the day off tomorrow, so I will be catching up on my rp's.

I promise to have a reply for you finished some time tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get back on track, so please forgive me and be patient for just a wee bit longer.

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Finally got a post for you all! Sorry that took longer than I thought! My mind was just a bit stuck on the whole putting words into sentences thing, but I've pushed through it!

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Have my post partially written up. Shall finish when I'm not too sleepy. :D

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

i'll post when i get bakc from my trip this weekend, sorry for inconvenience! ;_; (i'm going to an anime convention, not sure if i mentioned that)

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

I put up a post for after the time skip.

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Soo sorrynI haven't made a second post yet! Work has been busy this past week, and I have 3 overnight shifts in a row. Been too tired to post any coherent response. I sit down to write andnhave all my ideas, but when i type it comes out as garbled nonsense, half dreaming, 1/4 ideas, and 1/4 gobbledeegook
Shall hopefully have a post up sometime on monday.

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Works for me. Post until it gets back to you, Blue, and then you can do the time warp again?

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Yeah I think a time skip would be best just so we aren't writing how we got to Russia for the next two weeks.

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Would anyone like to do a time skip? After the next post or two we can jump to us all arriving at our "Home". This way we can all start interacting with each other and really get this moving and fun for everyone here and their character.

Re: Back to the Darkness We Go

Hope everything works out pandemonium.
