Valerie took a seat on the booth, putting her bags on the floor. From what the faerie could see, with Sydney and Axel preoccupied with their own problems, she would not be getting that tea anytime soon. But no matter, she had eaten and her pains could be sedated for a while longer. Plus, she would be going out tonight. That gave her enough time to converse with the vampires that had gathered. Her eyes flickered towards Ivan for a moment. She had seen him around, that was for sure, but she had spoken to Ember, who had been here for only half a year, possibly more times than she had seen the male. She supposed their circles just never mixed, but this might be a good situation to make the connection.

Her gaze turned back to Ember, who had just asked about her whereabouts. She was right, it was Saturday, Valerie's holy day for partying, where she could go to the city and get her dose of humans. In that way, faeries and vampires were similar-- they both relied more heavily on humans than the werewolf counterparts.

"I'm afraid humans by day are just not that... entertaining," Valerie said with a small smirk. "The best ones always come out at night. Liquor just seems to have that effect on them, you know? It's a shame you can't accompany me."

Valerie had never told anyone about her going out to "feast" on humans, of course. She had gone out clubbing with Poppy before, but her way of feeding was much more subtle than that of a vampire. A kiss would do and, if she controlled herself, no one around would even notice. The liquor helped with an impaired memory and the clubbing, well, it was just fun. Of course, the beneficiary effects for her did not come in full when she didn't go all the way, but she was alive now thanks to her life here and she couldn't risk it.

"It's a relief to know that I'm not the only one feeling this tension this tension," she said, turning to Ivan for a moment. "It definitely kills the family diner vibe."

"It seems like the werewolves are having a little get together..." said, looking over at Sydney, who was exiting the diner with a worried-looking werewolf behind her, "Probably not too happy to know that Albrecht is back."

Her comments were rather light, but she honestly was not happy with what she felt would go down. With Albrecht signing up as a candidate for the upcoming elections, it was clear he was ready to lead again. She didn't know how the werewolves felt about him, but she could only guess there was still resentment in their hearts. Plus, she enjoyed the peace and quiet she had found at Bellingstone. With the scandal of the mayor and what she would only guess would be a scandalous election, she was quite displeased that the unwelcomed visitor had chosen such a time to return.

With that, she let out a small sigh. "So, what have you been up to, love? she said, looking at Ember. "I can only guess you were trying to... cheer up Sydney and Axel during these stressful times?" she added with a small chuckle. No matter the situation present, Valerie was always amused by the vampire's mischiveous objectives. For her, it always managed to lighten up her day.
