Dr. Carson smiled when she finished the song, finding that she was successful in calming Chris down.
"How do you feel now?" she stated with a soft tone, trying her best not to be too loud to suddenly cause him to fully wake up. She knew it was falling back to sleep, but she didn't want to get up and leave the room if he still needed her by his side.
Dr. Carson loved being able to see the innocence in him, but the reasons for his innocence she hated. In the long run she hoped she would be able to help him learn everything he should know by this age and be able to interact with other people without being paranoid that they could turn on him at any given second. Of course that could happen to anyone, but not in the way his father did to him for those many years. She just hated she wasn't able to help him sooner. If she had only known that his father was hiding Chris down in his basement and beat on him for his entertainment and way to relieve anger, she would have acted on it.
