âșRoleâ
Eldest son and heir to the Thatcher House
âșPhysical Descriptionâ
Avery has fine short hair the color of wheat and eyes a clear spring blue. Though this does differ from his parents looks, the lighter coloring does run in the family on both sides. The first born heir stands tall at 6'2 with a lean muscular build and sports a very un-lordly tan. This is testament to his time out in the fields far away from the pampering halls of his family's estate. His rough and tumble looks often lets him get away with not disguising himself since he looks more like a servant than nobility. This isn't helped by the raggedy attire he dons when he leaves the estate for a good ride, a hunt, a duel, or simply be in the forest and lands that his family owns. Avery's features are defined and angular, accenting him in the right places. And also very un-lord like, his hands are calloused from the heavy labor he enjoys and from his sword practice.

|Honorable ⏠Chivalrous ⏠free-spirited ⏠Protective ⏠Unconventional|
Avery is the first born of the Thatcher family though he doesn't always act like it. Avery is the most free-spirited of the three siblings and cares about good and honest work. As the heir of the Thatcher line, his father was very hard on Avery and took the time to train him in everything he would need to rule the family line. This included learning how to wield the sword, honor, valor, and upholding the law. Both of his parents also contributed in teaching him what it meant to be humble and working for what one desired in life. He got to see first hand the hard labor that the farmers of the land had to toil for but he also got to see the rewards of such work. He got to see the community that came from working with others and being friendly as well as stern. His parents hoped that all of these experiences would make him a humble but honest ruler that weighed merit over coin favors. Their worst fear was that Avery would love money over honor which would ruin their family line with greed.
Over the years, Avery found that he enjoyed the times that he and his father, and then later his siblings, went hunting for game. He loved traveling and seeing the natural world. Increasingly, Avery spent his time in the forest and in the farming field working beside the laborers. He quickly gained rapport from them and they enjoyed working along side Avery. Now his parents have to fight with him to be more presentable and take an interest in politics. Their desire to make him humble worked out but he has become too interested in the simple life for their liking. They often lose sight of him and have to scour the land looking for their wayward heir, wherever he may be working or lounging. Like his parents however, Avery has become quite neutral as to who sits on the throne and is the most neutral of his siblings. He has developed an awareness of many different perspective and doesn't discount any opinion brought to his attention which allows him to think objectively about the situation at hand. This makes him a good leader since he doesn't fall pray to emotional upheaval easily.
Avery can be a calculating person when he wants to however. Because of his ability to take a step back and listen to all perspectives, Avery is able to think without emotional baggage. He can find the best course of action and is often weighing the consequences of actions when they are important. He may enjoy the simple life and prefer wandering the fields to politics, but he has been trained for such and is often the cool and confident person he needs to be when others are watching. Behind the scenes however, Avery is a free-spirit and hates to be tide down, which is why court appeal and politics is so boring for the young man. He likes to explore and experience the world. This has contributed to him being affectionately called the 'Field Lord' by many of his subject.
Avery also takes his vows very seriously. He is a protector of his people and land so he treats everyone like an extension of his family. He believes that to earn respect he must respect others regardless of their position. He will protect his land and people any way he can. He is a teddy bear to everyone and always smiling and letting them request things from him, but this is not to be confused with him being easy to manipulate. He genuinely wants the best for others but as soon as someone tries to turn malicious, Avery will harden. He is a fierce warrior who will protect those he loves no matter the cost to himself. He holds honor and his words highly and does not appreciate those that do not do the same. He will not waver from his beliefs even if it is his parents contradicting him.
The young heir excelled at sword fighting as well and ended up the leader of his father's war band and leads them into battles, should the need arise. As of yet, there hasn't been need for Avery to ride out to war. This skill doesn't go to waste however. His younger siblings are mischief makers so he had ample duties protecting them and getting out of their various messes. Avery loves to practice his swordsmanship and also likes to duel with anyone who wants to try their hand at fighting him. He has also taken up the responsibilities of training his brother to follow in his footsteps though Elliot has little interest in sword fighting. He tries however, to engage the younger man though Avery and him don't often get along.
